luckyseven hope your hubby had plenty on!

I had a little on him after you flagged him up so 2 winners for me today!

Happy Weekend all.

luckyseven · 19/03/2010 19:25

Catch up time as I have been guilty of short posting the last few days but life is a bit hectic as my MIL is back in hospital for another (and hopefully the last) cancer operation and our house is a bit if a half way house for family at the minute.

hello to katzen* stifybyng and papertiger (waves across the room to aly323 i don't thing I have 'met' you yet)

cavemum glad we had a good day on the ggs and you went for Baby Run too - dh had a fiver to win on at 6-1 so -we are- he is £30 up and can splash out on more CBFM sticks! I had an e/w on Imperial Commander and that win has paid for half of a half price dress i bought in the coast sale so effectively the dress was £30!

bunnygirl thanks for the 5 month reassurance I sometimes wish there was a ttc amnesty and everyone was truthful about how long it actually takes. dh always says to me that ttc is like betting - you only hear about the wins.(see postto cavemum above!)

cherrycobbler i am with you on the watching OBEM from behind a cushion - child birth petrifies me, but i always cry at the end when the baby finally arrives!

Calyx and kkas after a month's break from temping I am going to start doing it again as i like the wee graphs and since i am now on month 8 I want lots of info in case my fears come true and we have to get investigated in a couple of months. Ariesgirl and cherrycobbler i have always thought 'i bet i am the struggler in my group of friends', not founded on any medical problems I am aware of, I just have a feeling we will be in for the long haul.

dinkytinky sorry AF got you, i hope your goods arrived from crazy e bay lady

pidgin your 'secret squirting' amused me as did ariesgirl procreating in sunny meadows of singing birds and floating butterflies

Right, must write a shopping list for this month - grapefruit juice, cough mixure and more blooming clearblue sticks and i am right out of pg tests after AF's mischief. I am now on CD3 so maybe i could be updated to CD4 on tom's stats by whichever frolicker knows how to do it.

happy weekend

kkas · 19/03/2010 19:33

hi aly so glad to hear from you! thanks for your special message. i agree it's 'bout time for us to move on!!! i'm keeping my fingers crossed for you this month hope your trials went well.

StiffyByng · 19/03/2010 21:14

Oh, thank you all for the welcomes! And for adding me to the list. I think, and this is best guess, that I have a 28 day cycle, but will watching out for it this month to see. And I am on cycle day 23. So UCL 28, CD 23. And I am 7 DPO I think.

aly323 · 19/03/2010 21:54

I took a month off and now I can't stop posting!

Lucky, I think your DH is absolutely right that"you only hear about the wins." Now that I'm fixated on ttc (and am very open about trying) I hear loads of stories from people about how long it took. It doesn't make time move any faster for me, but it does help keep me from feeling like a failure every month. I've been shocked by the number of people I know who went through fertility issues. There are so many where I had no idea.

I just, as writing this, got a call from the fertility specialist and now have an appointment for next Thur! I decided to go with a specialist closer to home instead of work to make it easier for my DH if we need to do anything special. I wish I had switched to this one earlier. The other one refused to see me until DH had his insurance worked out. That's the only reason I hadn't gone sooner. This one didn't care- I guess I should have called them earlier. My appointment and af are set for the same day. At least I'll have a distraction if af arrives!

Last week, I was feeling a huge maternal urge, so I agreed to foster a puppy . It's been good practice for having a newborn. He cries all night. I can sleep through it, but DH is constantly up trying to settle him down. DH now "jokes" that he's concerned about my mothering abilities. I told him I'm just faking that I'm sleeping, I'm actually "training" him for when the baby gets here.

DH and I did have a big talk after af last month. DH told me that he's starting to feel awful because he can't give me what I want and sees how bad I feel when af arrives each month. He's been a good sport about everything, but I know the baby craze is all me. He's a willing, but not eager participant. I had thought about how ttc was affecting him, but not so much about how my reactions might as well. He also says that sometimes he tries to keep me from getting too positive and makes sort of negative comments because he would rather I get mad at him than be super disappointed again.

Cavemum and Lucky, enjoy you're winnings! I'm off to prepare the house for three teenage girls who are coming to stay with us for the week. I'm so glad I already ovulated. I can't imagine trying to sneak it in with the girls in the house. One is my half-sister. Last time she visited for a week, she accidentally left a message to her friend on my computer discussing my sex life. It said something like, "I don't know know if they're not having sex it or if they're just really quiet. If I lived with a guy, I would never be able to go a week without sex." Someday she'll know better...

Looking forward to the results from this weekend's testers. Finger's crossed !!

bunnygirl80 · 19/03/2010 22:15

aly good luck with the specialist - you know just making the appointment seems to get people on this thread their BFP

luckyseven lol at you spending your DH's winnings on pee sticks

I think you're right about only ever hearing TTC success stories. My DH has already convinced himself that this was only month 1 of proper TTC as he reckons he wasn't really trying hard enough for the other 4 months

StiffyByng love the user name - are you a Jeeves and Wooster fan by any chance?

I should really cut down on posting on here as am supposed to be a grad, but I might hang around a bit longer just for the betting tips!

MrsWajs · 19/03/2010 23:46

Hey girls!

Thanks for the kind words mumsnerves it helps to have my virtual friends here to moan to!!

Feeling mega funked off this evening, had solicitors appointment today and although it went well, I think, it just got DP wound up again plus the fact that it's gonna cost us at the very least £300-£500 isn't great . He's been told his job is safe-ish for the next few weeks anyway which is good and so we paid the balance of our holiday but now we're gonna have a hefty solicitors bill looming, it just feels like it's never ending! We've gone from having a nice little nest egg put away to practically having to spend most of it in a week!!!

Why do all the shitty things happen at once! Feel like TTC and imminent AF are now taking a back seat and don't feel I can be upset over this to DP when there are other things going on and he is already stressed out.

Feeling a little bit hopeless atm, but I suppose AF arriving wouldn't be all bad as I don't want to start pregnancy stressed out and not sleeping/eating.

AAAGGHHH I HATE THAT STUPID POISONOUS LITTLE WITCH!!!!!!!

Sorry just had to do that!!

Hi to all the new & returning peeps, sorry you're having to witness the mad me!!

MrsWajs · 19/03/2010 23:49

I am also attributing this little rant to either a) PMT or b) Pregnancy hormones.......most likely the former!

mumnerves · 20/03/2010 10:01

Morning all

MrsWajs you rant on, it must be hard on you seeing as you want to start your own family and his history is preventing you from doing that BUT it's not over till AF arrives so keep your hopes up, we will all get there eventually one way or another Hope you can keep thinking that too cherrycobbler we have to get there eventually

aly323 Hi, welcome back Ooooh! Puppy foster, lucky you! DH and I are so puppy broody. We are so tempted to just get another dog and just give up the ttc but age is catching up and the sensibilities of money are stopping us from doing it! We actually got a puppy 2 1/2 years ago when we got married so that we could see how we coped and whether we wanted kids. I guess the answer is pretty obvious now

Have a nice sat everyone!

haloflo · 20/03/2010 12:08

Hello!

MrsWajs I have my fingers crossed for you. I hate the end of the 2ww, its typical that your body makes you feel crap just when you want to be positive about things.

luckyseven and dinky sorry about AF. Look after yourselves for the next few days & treat yourselves. I hope you are both ok.

Hello to papertiger and stiffybyng! kkas and mumsnerves I'm wishing you both a good weekend & hoping the O happens for you both in the next day or two.

Aly123 I hoping that booking your appointment will be the lucky spark you need. I'm jealous about the puppy fostering, I hope you have loads of fun with him. I've got plans to get a dog when I move from a flat to a house probably in the next couple of years. I always had a dog as a kid & I want that for mine.

Cavemum enjoy your winnings! I know nothing about horse racing but it must be good to work in something you love.

Calligraphy82 Glad you had a good chat wtih DH & thanks for the reassurance over the cheap OPKs.

Its hard to catch up even with just a couple of days off this thread so I hope everyone else is ok.

Its rainy outside here but I'm going to brave a run today & maybe start the PSFs!

Calyx · 20/03/2010 13:34

Still on iPhone as computer dead hello to stiffybyng and papertiger and other new people, stiffy is your name anything to do with Jeeves as it reminded me of the books!

No idea if ov has happened and only managed to SWI on days 9 and 14 so probably no luck this month. Oh well we are skint anyway so maybe for the best.

Hoping everyone has a lovely weekend x

claireinthecommunity · 20/03/2010 13:51

Wow, I've missed so much!

Hello to all the new people and aly, good to hear from you, a puppy and three teenage girls - good luck!

Well, I'm a little better, if a tad still tender (emotionally speaking). A number of things hit me all at the same time and sent me into a downward spiral, I think feeling a bit down from hitting the 10 month stage left me vulnerable to outside influences. DHs been great looking after me and being supportive. Thanks particularly to kkas, zippy and bellaby for your kind words of support, it means a lot .

So, I'm well into my 2ww, not holding out too much hope this month as we only managed SWI twice under the circumstances. But, you never know

I didn't know about the cough medicine!

Ariesgirl · 20/03/2010 14:29

Hi claire. OH and I only managed it twice as well. It's going to be a long two weeks! But it only takes one little swimmer

Bellaby · 20/03/2010 15:16

Hello Everyone

Hope you are all having lovely relaxing Saturdays. I've just spent 2 hours on a conference call for work but hopefully that'll be it for the weekend.

dinkytink - I liked the sound of your detective work on eBay! Hope it all gets sorted

luckyseven - sorry to hear about AF but glad you got to enjoy the wine. I've been indulging myself this week and telling DH that we need to open some wedding wine whenever I am in NWL!

Welcome Stiffybyng Aries -feels like you've had family staying with you forever!

Cavemum - great call in the races with Impreial Commander. Please feel free to share all future tips with us here...

Hello to everyone else - it's been a busy week in this room and everyone has been super chatty which is great.

I didn't get the job - I had too much experience for what they were looking for. Not too upset as didn't want the job for the right reasons so now can get on with TTC plan.

So the CBDM told me this morning that my fertility is now high. DH is very interested by this machine but he wasn't so impressed when he read the instruction booklet. He said for something that is based on science it is odd that the booklet talks about 'making love'. Still he now knows he is on standby for the next week for our SWI.

This week is the week for Christmas babies ladies!

Have a great weekend everyone

Bellaby xxx

Bellaby · 20/03/2010 15:17

oh yes and forgot to say that I'm excited to see how you get on Mrswajs

Ariesgirl · 20/03/2010 15:22

They've gone Bellaby, they've gone. Thank the Lord and all his angels of mercy.

If I get BFP after this week it will be a far bigger miracle than the divine conception seeing as we only managed it twice.

MrsWajs · 20/03/2010 16:18

Right girls - happy Wajs is back!!

Thanks again to you all for putting up with my miserable face and for the words of encouragement!

Got up this morning in a better frame of mind only to find one of our conservatory windows have been broken!! Surely the last of our run of bad luck!?!?!

But anyway, went to boots today and bought 2 FR tests so doing one tomorrow morning I am sooooooo excited!! Still have very mild cramps from time to time but as bunny said earlier the increased CM could be a sign of pg so am gonna give one a bash and hope for the best!! Fingers, toes, eyes, everything crossed! I have a good feeling about it but then again could be setting myself up for a fall!!

Aries glad the rest of your rellies have left now and you and OH can have some quality time together!

Bellaby Sorry you never got the job but like you say it leaves you free to TTC now! Must be a boost not to get it because you're too qualified rather than not qualified enough!

Claire Hope you're feeling back to normal soon and good luck with your 2ww

Calyx After this weeks events I'll be joining you in the skint section of the thread!

Haloflo Are you out of NWL yet?? Have fun with your PSF's

mumsnerves You're right it ain't over til it's over and we will all get there eventually! Patients is a virtue and all that!

cavemum keep the tips coming - I'm a mad grand national fan!! Only time I bet!

Hi to aly and &papertiger* don't think I've 'met' you yet

Sory if I've missed anyone else, will keep you all posted tomorrow morning, enjoy the rest of your weekend xx

zippys · 20/03/2010 17:21

Hello

Cavemum that sounds a really interesting job, but I work in tax so I think most jobs would be more exciting

Dinky sorry about AF. (hand chocolate and wine -is it too early for wine?) Hope it is less painful now.

mumnerves I too am a control freak so can understand your pain. Hopefully this will take some of pressure off you.

papertiger I would test again but I am a poas addict!! Let us know when you have.

aly its funny isnt it, once you come back after a break you just want to post loads Sorry to hear work has been so stresful. I think you are right ov will have been delayed by stress so just swi at the moment as I have no idea where in my cycle I am! Hopefully the test will work the trick like others and just booking them will get you your BFP. - 3 teenage girls you are being brave.

lucky hope your mil is doing ok. Love the fact that you are spending winnings on opks.

Bunny you can stay here as long as you want anyway we need some one to be our stat bunny

Mrs Wajs glad you are feeling a lot better about things now. I am getting really excited for you too. I have everyhting crossed. What time are you planning on testing (not that I am obsessing or anything [blsuh] )

Halo did you go for a run? I was going to go to the gym but after cleaning all morning cant be bothered. Think i will burn some calories swi instead

Calyx Claire and aries as has been said it only take one little sperm. DP was telling me of one of his friends that has just got a BFP - they only had sex once in 6 months . Although that actually got me quite as we are all trying so hard and then for others it is so easy.

Claire glad dh is been all supportive -you know where we are if you need to talk - baby or not baby related.

Bellaby - dont think cbdm could use swi but would be quite funny if they did!

Aries gkad to hear you have your house back.

Well no real news from, still a lot of cm but no AF. Nipples are a bit sore but no idea where I am in my cycle. As I have said above I am putting it all down to stress and just want af to arrive now so I get back on schedule. I may however do another test on MOnday if no AF - is that just silly?

I have also made a positive step re weight loss -booked to see nutritionalist in a couple of weeks - partly re weight loss and also to see if she can help re sickness. So I shall let you know.

kkas · 20/03/2010 17:27

hi guys - guess what - we just bought a car! a vw tiguan. the smaller SUV that vw makes. so excited! dh wanted to go for cherry red too and we got the sporty version so it will be very cool. first time we've bought a brand new car, so it will be made especially for us at the factory, which means we don't get to pick it up til the summer. but i'm just hoping that we'll have a bfp by then as the purpose of getting a bigger car is for a LO at least it's something to be excited for in the interim if only getting pg was as easy as buying a car..... hehe! hope you are all having a good weekend

WhiteRoses · 20/03/2010 18:14

Hi,

Just a quick post, cause I've been reading through all your posts.

Good luck, MrsW - don't think we've "met" yet, but I'll be checking back tomorrow as all so far with you sounds so promising!

Mumnerves and Aly - haven't "spoken" to either of you in ages either so just a quick hello!

And Claire - a big [hug] from me to you... I must have missed your earlier posts but read there that you've been having a hard time. Sorry to hear it. But chin up - it WILL happen. xxx

Don't mean to ignore everyone else - just that I'm rushing as usual! Hopefully catch up soon, if not here, then on the Graduates thread!

WhiteRoses · 20/03/2010 18:14

Oooh - and Kkas - very exciting about the new car.

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 20/03/2010 18:38

Evening ladies,

Just chipping into the cough medicine / grapefruit juice debate. I never got round to trying the cough medicine (but it was reccommended to me by the lady who does my leg waxing!!) but I did try grapefruit juice for a couple of months, but wasn't using any remedies the month we finally cracked it!

hugs to all of you coming up to or in double figures of cycles ttc. It can feel like its never going to happen for you, but it will eventually, some of us just take longer and maybe need some extra help.

WhiteRoses · 20/03/2010 19:00

Hehe! Like the link, Yorkshire!

Like Yorkshire though, guys, we started off really well, and we BD'd every day or every other day, without fail. Then, in December, decided to have a bit of a break from actively TTC. We DTD once before ovulation (which I didn't even know had occurred!) and bingo! So it just goes to show! It's far from an exact science!

WhiteRoses · 20/03/2010 19:01

And now I REALLY need to get myself off Mumsnet!
