luckyseven · 18/03/2010 21:24

luckyseven bows her head in shame re all the typos in above post - I have a degree in English not that you would know!

StiffyByng · 18/03/2010 21:31

Hello, may I join? This is our first month of trying for #1, although my partner already has two children who live with us. I'm not sure how to add myself to your list! But then as I don't actually know how long my cycle is, I'm not sure I could fill in all the numbers.

bunnygirl80 · 18/03/2010 21:41

I can definitely speak for the power of preseed - I bought some this month but forgot I had it. So it helped me get pg without even making it out of the bathroom cabinet

MrsWajs DO A TEST!!!! An increase in CM is a sign of pg, and feeling like AF was about to appear is a pretty common early pg symptom!

Dinkytinky · 18/03/2010 21:46

Hi stiffybyng! it's my first month too- going to test tomorrow if AF doesn't turn up, I'm newish too and everyones so lovely an fun on here, I think you'll be very happy! All the stats are are just what kid you're trying for, how many months and what day you are in your cycle!

I'm on cd28 had a bit of back pain today but have really itchy boobs (no crumbs this time!)and no whisper of AF at all.
That' so weird mrswajs because I've had (tmi!) virtuallyno cm, whereas I usuallyget a little everyday, I've read thatalot is good though early pg wise.
Ahh luckyseven sorry tohear about af, I really love it here too, makes me realise I'm not a crazy baby lady all alone haha.

MrsWajs · 18/03/2010 21:52

Oh I just don't think I can do it!!!

Do you think a CBdigital would pick it up yet or better with first response, am due roughly on Sunday??

Sorry about your AF luckyseven and hi to stiffybyng

There is a real battle going on in my head here!!!!

papertiger · 18/03/2010 22:05

Hi,

First time on this site so not too sure what all the numbers and abbreviations mean, but if I could be added to the list that would be great!

TTC for 1st time, on 4th cycle now and right now on day 36 and getting confused. Negative test 2 days ago, will test again soon. Great to know others going through this stress too.

bunnygirl80 · 18/03/2010 22:19

MrsWajs CB digi not very sensitive and bloody expensive, so I would wait until AF late to use one. First response is the better choice if AF not expected for a couple of days.

Or I suppose you could just be patient and wait until Sunday and see if AF appears....but that's not as entertaining for the rest of us

MrsWajs · 18/03/2010 22:36

Hahaha!! I have made a promise to myself to wait but coming on here is testing my willpower!! I'd be the first one encouraging other people to test!!

Promised DP tho that we'd test together and since he leaves for work well before I get up I can't do anything til at least Saturday! And even that's a no-go cus stepDS will be here!! Don't like the idea of attempting to POAS while he's trying to scale the babygate and screaming for his breakfast!!

Nope, nope, nope Sunday it is!! Got 'the ache' again in lower abdo and top of legs so sure AF is on the way! Would rather it just turned up than getting a BFN..I think!

MrsWajs · 18/03/2010 22:39

I'm also pretty horny which isn't really the norm for me better make the most of it before I'm out of action!!

Ariesgirl · 18/03/2010 22:40

Just back from meal with ILs. God this is finishing me. They're still bloody here! I shall be an exhausted nervous wreck by the time they leave which will then be too late to SWI. Sigh.

cherrycobbler · 18/03/2010 23:04

mrswajs I think your willpower is amazing to wait till Sunday if you are feeling that things are not quite the same! I am trying very hard not to be a bad POAS influence...

lucky sorry the witch has arrived - but good that you are feeling positive. hope next few days are a bit relaxing as you stop symptom spotting/ trying not to symptom spot.

ariesgirl i am completely convinced I am the one-in-a-hundred that will never get pg, and have been convinced, for no real reason, for years and way before TTC. So I sympathise with your irrationality but wanted to let you know you're not alone - and it doesn't have any reflection at all on your fertility! bunny glad appt went well and doc was happy for you - and also that five months was seen to be a good time. My best friends and SILs were all first time so v good to have some perspective.

Finally have EWCM this month (sorry if TMI) but alas no DH for a couple of days so unless his swimmers are into many-day endurance sports, I will be tucking into blue cheese and pineapple, with a glass of wine in two weeks time.

This has turned into a bit of an epic! Happy Fridays everyone.

cherrycobbler · 18/03/2010 23:05

ps welcome stiffybing and papertiger

CaveMum · 19/03/2010 07:30

Morning all!
Just wanted to pop my head round the door to let y'all know I'm still here! Welcome to all the fellow newbies!

If any of you are free his afternoon I actively encourage you to sit down in front of the tv at around 3pm this afternoon and put The Cheltenham Festival on Channel 4 on.
We're all hotly anticipating the race of the century with Kauto Star and Denman facing off in the Gold Cup.

I should explain that I work in horseracing & this race is being a little over hyped to try to attract new people to our sport.

If you have a free afternoon, coverage of the day starts at 12.30pm with a preview The Morning Line, on at 8.25 this morning.

Please tune in!!!

zippys · 19/03/2010 08:02

Morning,

Mrswaj that sounds really positive, well done for being so restrained re poas. Although I am sure if you are on here long enough you will crack I would agree do FR as CB digital are not as good early on.

Lucky sorry af hit you - glad to hear you are still feeling positive, lol at menstruls - now we have crazy baby men too!

Stiffybyng hi - I have added you to the list just let us know stats.

Dinky when are you planning on testing?

Papertiger I have added you to the list - keeping my fingers crossed for you - when are you retesting?

Cherry sorry to hear DH is away when you have EWCM! Its so annoying when that happens isnt it!

CaveMum at work all afternoon so cant watch it. What do you do in horseracing?

I have updated the list below - which is getting top heavy again. Is there anyone we can move to MIA that we haven't heard from for ages - dont want to move someone and upset them !

CaveMum · 19/03/2010 08:11

zippys these days I work in an office. My company handles registrations of stallions and horses imported from America as well as sponsoring over 500 races in GB every year.
It means I get to go racing whenever I like!

I used to work on stud farms handling the mares and foals. Perhaps the reason OBEM doesn't bother me is the fact that Ive seen and been involved with so many foalings!

I've been lucky enough to handle some of the best racemares of recent years, and I do miss the babies!

It's a good thing I won't be ttc whilst working on a stud - I'm told the stallions can smell when a woman is ovulating and it can make them agressive towards her! Perhaps that's a new method we can use to detect ovulation!

It was a fun life, but long hours, out in all weathers and awful pay. My current job means I know everything that is going on in the racing world but get to be in a warm office only working 9-5!

kkas · 19/03/2010 09:07

hi guys - loving all the chat re cough syrup and grapefruit juice. i have tried the grapefruit juice in previous cycles and it seemed to increase the EWCM for me. but i haven't been drinking it this cycle and still got EWCM a lot earlier than the past few... so not sure if it really was the grapefruit juice or just my body finally returning to normal after a few cycles off the pill.

welcome to the newbies

any testers this weekend?

MrsWajs · 19/03/2010 10:34

Think me and dinky are possibly the testers for this weekend kkas (not sure if anyone else is?) although I am hoping not to test and just wait until Sunday when I am due!! Fingers crossed I can hold out!

Think I might just lurk a bit for the rest of the weekend as I'm getting my crazy baby lady head on!

I'm convinced I feel 'different' this time around but think it could just be my mind trying to convince me I am because I want it so much!!

luckyseven · 19/03/2010 10:53

cavemum - you betting on Baby Run in the 4 o'clock? My dh is - apparently it is too obvious if i bet on it! Going out for lunch and to watch the races with friends this afternoon - any tips?

Dinkytinky · 19/03/2010 11:24

Morning all! cavemum ohh what a cool job! My grandad would have been your best friend lol-horse racing mad and used to give me a tenner to go pick a horse every weekend!

Mrs wajsI'm not testing anymore, nasty cow AF has turned up bang on time. Isn't it so much worse that it flipping hurts as well as being disappointed?! Ah well, I didn't really expect it to happen this month, so I think I might just sit in the bath with a box of chocs for a few hours! Good luck though- our symptoms seem to be opposites so that's hopefully a good thing for you!fingers crossed!

Xxx

MrsWajs · 19/03/2010 11:44

Aww dinky sorry to hear that!

Here have a box of virtual Milk Tray lol!xx

mumnerves · 19/03/2010 13:01

Hi all!
Wow this thread does certainly move fast So, sorry if I missed any news or anyone.

Chalky sorry Af hit

dinky sorry AF hit, it even worse when it's heavy isn't it? Just feels even more like a slap in the face and it's just not fair! Hope you enjoyed your chocs. @ your ebay seller!

luckyseven sorry Af hit you too but hope you enjoyed your movie and chocs too.

MrsWajs Good luck for Sunday, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for a BFP for you, the symptoms sound promising Your DP's ex sounds awful! Well at least you both know the truth, it must be so tempting for you to blurt the truth out to everyone though! Any news about DH's job? TTC is stressful enough without life's stresses isn't it??!! Big hugs from me, we're all here if you want to chat somemore

Ariesgirl I thought your 'guests' were only going to stay for the weekend??! It's Friday, tell them to bugger off home now!

kkas hope you managed to put that EWCM to good news and he wasn't TOO tired

Zippys pleased for you about your scan results, maybe just knowing nothing's wrong will take some stress off you, which may settle your cycle down?

haloflo Hope af is well and truely over now and you treated yourself to something nice to cheer you up

whiteroses Sorry to hear 1st trimester has hit you so hard, hope it starts getting better for you soon!

I've heard of the cough syrup thing, but just trying grapefruit juice this month, think it's made a difference EWCM-wise but not sure. I think that EPO made the most difference to quantity of EWCM but I just keep forgetting to take it!

Temp still down and no sign of the big O. I did an ov test yesterday and pulled out a preg test instead, it never even occurred to me that the instructions were different! SO no ov tested and I'm already 17 days into cycle

I've asked DH to take the SWI into his own hands and basically we are going to do the every other day SWI from just after AF. I was fretting last night as it was a non-SWI day and well, what if I ovulated today! But I 'm doing this to get the pressure and paranoia off myself and will just have to learn to wait and see! It's not easy as I'm a bit of a control freak so I'll just have to gnaw at my nails instead

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

CaveMum · 19/03/2010 13:14

Couple of horses I've backed today, all each way I add:

Carlito Brigante in 1.30
Restless Harry in 2.40
imperial Commander in 3.20, though I think Kauto Star will win
Rock Noir in 4.00

I've had a very good betting week for me at least - started the week with £20 and currently have £95!

CaveMum · 19/03/2010 13:25

Got one of my times wrong - Rock Noir runs in the 2.05!

papertiger · 19/03/2010 17:24

Ok think I'm getting hang of this now. UCL is 28-32 days but I have no clue when I may/may not have ovulated..!
Now on day 37, still nothing. Negative tests on day 28 and 34 but they were Tesco ones, not sure if they are not so good? Any feedback helpful.
Now bought 2 First Response tests. Other half says I should wait until Tues but not sure if can wait that long! So I may possibly do a test this weekend if my willpower breaks! Good luck everyone!

aly323 · 19/03/2010 17:31

It's been ages since I've posted, but I wanted to say a quick hello. I've been reading the posts and I've missed so much! The are so many new people (hello to all!), and there've been loads of BFPs (Yay!! Congrats!!) since I last posted.

You all are so funny! Dinky's ebay seller gave me a good smile, as did the pillow baby (I don't remember who posted that). I also love the fact that this is probably the only conception thread anywhere where you can also get tips for betting on horse racing. I love the frolickers/ crazy baby ladies!

Zippy, I'm relieved to hear they ruled out a tumor for you. So you know, I once had ovulation delayed 20 days due to stress. This month it just delayed a week. It surprised me because this month my job was over-the-top stressful. So stressful I was sick. I imagine you've probably been even more stressed than you realized with all that's gone on.

I remember someone asking about opk's and I just wanted to chime in that I use cheapies and they work great for me. Since they're so cheap, I can use two a day (morning and evening) and not feel guilty. For a couple of months, I used the cheapies, but confirmed with a digital when I thought I had a positive.

Grapefruit juice worked for me the first month I used it, but hasn't worked since. I tried cough syrup (btw, mucinex pills are also supposed to work), but it didn't work for me. I want to try EPO, but am afraid it'll mess with ovulation since I already ovulate late. For now, I just use Preseed. I actually really like the stuff.

Sorry I've skipped so much. Stupid real life just got in the way. I'm sure I'll be on here more now that I finally get to fixate on ttc again. Just in time for my TWW. I'm 4dpo today. I'm not feeling too hopeful because of my short LP, but we'll see. My nips have been very sore, but that's probably just from ovulation.

I left a message with an RE a few days ago, so I'll be setting up testing if this month doesn't take. I'll do another round of hormone testing and we'll finally get his SA. DH is not thrilled, but is willing to do what needs to be done. Hopefully we won't need it!

BTW, I just want to say a special hello again to Kkas. Sorry the timing wasn't great this month (maybe DH has super strong little swimmers). We both really need to move to the grads thread soon! This is like the sixth first time frolickers thread we've been on.
