Hi gals,

Hope you all enjoyed the sun this weekend.

Damn AF got me in the early hours of this morning, 3 days early the swine

So today is my CD 1.

Here we go another month... sigh. Fingers crossed for you all.. hopefully the recent BFP's are a sign of more to come! Have a great monday all x

womanlytales · 12/04/2010 10:38

Am going to be testing next week [if I can hold off that long!! and if AF doesn't appear]

PinkiePoo · 12/04/2010 13:20

Well as i am currently on CD 39 i thought i may as well just do a test and yup u guessed it a BFN.

I thought it probably would have been as i don't think i even ovulated but getting a little annoyed now with irregularity.

Do you reckon i should go bk to docs? They did blood tests to test for PCOS and came bk fine but this is silly. I have had medioum to severe stomach cramps for past 2 weeks.

Oh i feel all rubbish now!!

wannamummy · 12/04/2010 13:58

Hey all, I had a wonderful birthday yesterday and am off today too. The weather is still fab so, I should be on top of the world...

I'm consumed with PMT. I keep snapping at DH, look like I've swallowed a beach ball and my skin's a mess. On the flip side, the last couple of days though, I've been getting upset at the silliest of things, am tired all the time and fall asleep nearly everytime I sit down.

I am so confused and got upset this morning at the thought of AF coming at the weekend. I hate the 2ww, and poor DH is taking the brunt of it, which isn't fair.

Think I need to pull myself together and if when AF comes, at least I know everything's in working order.

capricorn76 · 12/04/2010 17:49

Sorry I've been missing guys. I did my first round of IUI this month and decided not to go on any fertility websites to avoid becoming obsessed again.

I'll get straight to the point, it shouldn't have worked for reasons I'll go into for a minute....but it did!!!!I got a BFP!!!due on New Years Day!!

The whole thing was farcical. The doctor I had was very unhelpful and assumed I already knew what to do. I only had one follicle of 16mm on day 10 and the doctor assumed that I'd ovulate over the weekend. She said the unit was closed on Sunday so suggested we have sex over the weekend if the OPK came up positive to avoid missing ovulation, which it did on Sat afternooon.

On Monday morning the OPK was still saying I was pre-ovulation so they told us to come in for the IUI. Unfortunately DH and I had sex 5 times between the Sat night and Monday morning (poor thing was a wreck but we were terrified we'd miss ovulation). The nurses said his sperm count was very, very low and because we'd had sex at the wrong time but we all agreed that we only needed one follicle and one sperm so decided to do the IUI anyway call it a dummy run and do it properly next time. We had sex again after as they suggested and kicked ourselves all the way home that we messed it up.

Fast forward to the day before my period, Friday. Had swollen breasts and felt a bit bloated which is how I usually am the day before. Couldn't wait for period so took a test which came back negative Some brown splodge came, all in all textbook pre-menstrual symptoms for me. I stuck a tampon on and assumed my period would come next as normal. Was a bit down about it and it was a nice day so went to the pub after work and drank more than normal. On Sat had tiny spots of blood so took that as my period starting and went to a party, again drank a few cocktails (kicking myself now). Got home removed the tampon and thee was no blood only a tiny bit of brown stuff. I knew then that something was up.

This morning I did a cheap test which had a faint line so I called the hospital and asked them what to do as I wasn't sure whether I needed to book my next IUI in. They told me to take a blood test and it came back positive!!

I'm so excited, although they said that because one of my tubes is dead a twisted and I had a couple of drops of blood I need a second test next week to make sure everythings okay which takes the shine off a little bit but for now I'm pregnant after about 16 months, operation to remove massive fibroid, only one tube, low ovarian reserve, shortish leutal phase and a IUI so shoddy even the nurses wrote it off! The odds were not on my side but I also got the first two horses on the Grand National so maybe I'm on a bit of a streak!

Funnily enough looking back now I honestly believe my acupuncturist suspected something was up on Thursday, 2 days before my period was due. She was acting quite strange.

I'll stop getting myself excited now as I know its very early days.

misshoohaa · 12/04/2010 19:14

Capricorn that sounds like very good news, and after such an epic wait too. Well done. Any symptoms to go with your little magical line?

CD 27 for me, I've messed my dates up for the 2WW, but pretty sure we SWI on the right days. Not feeling anything but the impeding doom of the old aunty flo though so think I will be out of the running for a Chrissy baby.

Only thing is that my mouth is massively watering, you know that feeling you get when something makes you want to gag.....like when i think about tequila I get it!!! Anyway that has been lurking today with some minor lightheadedness but other than that not a scooby.

Oh well, if I did get a BFP I would have to cancel my gallstone op I have next month so guess it is for the best.

Take care.

CaveMum · 12/04/2010 19:24

Capricorn that's amazing news! Congratulations!

Hope everyone has had a good day, it's been a bit on the quiet side on here for a change!

Quick question for those of you on Pregnacare Pre-Conception? Have you had any side effects? I read on one thread that they turn your wee bright yellow! But I also ask because I started taking mine on Saturday and I've had a dodgy tummy ever since! Sorry if TMI! Could it be the tablets or am I being a hypochondriac?! I've probably just poisoned myself with my own cooking!

wannamummy · 12/04/2010 19:33

CaveMum yes to the bright yellow wee! no matter how much water you drink, it's still the same!

Capricorn you really have had it tough so a massive congratulations to you! I wish you the best for the next nine months. How exciting to have a due date of New Year's Day. Sorry, I moved you to MIA, it just made it easier to do the stats daily (we miss our stats bunny). I have put now put you on the grads list if thats ok.

Aires How are you feeling now? The sun was out again here so I hope that cheered you up. I think everyone struggles to find the energy sometimes. I can't bring myself to just go through the motions so if i'm not in the mood then there will be no SWI. You wavering much about going ahead with TTC or just having a wobble?

Womanlytales Good luck when you POAS. Let us know how you get on. How do you feel about this cycle?

Applecharlotte Sorry about AF. I hate it when AF sneaks up on you and gets you early. Mine did that twice in the last 2 months but on the good side its bringing my UCL down so I don't have to wait as long to start again.

Pinkie Sorry about BFN. I hope you just ov'd late and your BFP is waiting for you. Poor you though, 2 weeks of cramps does not sound fun. Theres no harm in visiting your GP and seeing what they say.

Wannamummy You sound like you need a distraction from the 2ww. I hope you did something nice today on your day in the sunshine & took your mind off things. When are planning on testing?(Sorry I know thats not taking your mind off it!)

Misshoohaa I've updated your CD as you were totally out on the list. When are you testing? Some of the recent BFP's said they had no real symptons other than the feeling AF was going to arrive as normal so fingers crossed for you.

Cavemum I'm just on folic acid so can't help you there. I'm sure you haven't poisoned yourself though! Hows DH on his?

Luckyseven The CBFM arrived today. Thanks again! I'm going to read the instructions cover to cover before setting it up tomorrow morning. I didn't have enough advantage card points to buy the sticks with but I am building points up nicely with all my recent boots purchases for baby clothes

I am nearly out of NWL and have now started my temping. Poor DP didn't know what the beeps were the first time I did it. (I had warned him - he was just tired and grumpy) I've also joined up to Fertilty Friend. Annoyingly it has given me loads of extra VIP features as i've just joined up which is making it even harder to work my way around. For the time being i'm just putting my temps in & seeing how that goes. They seem a bit all over the place atm but TCOYF did say that during AF they can be.

I got a sudden feeling of fear earlier that this might actually work which is my first wobble for a while. I think I am just slightly overwhelmed by all the information i'm going to have this month but I'm sure it will be ok once I get going.

Ariesgirl · 12/04/2010 19:51

Capricorn, what a fabulous story. I'm so happy for you. I may let a couple of the BESHies who are feeling a little low at the moment know. Well done you.

maamalady · 12/04/2010 20:15

Capricorn - fantastic news! Congratulations!

claireinthecommunity · 12/04/2010 20:27

Congratulations Capricorn, fantastic news

kkas · 12/04/2010 20:38

congratulations capricorn!!!! so happy for you

Dinkytinky · 12/04/2010 20:55

Wow Capricorn! that's straight out of movie, what a brilliant story, congratulations!

Apple sorry to hear about AF it's bloody rubbish, especially when it messes with your looks too, I always end up with horrible skin too!

Pinkie sorry about bfn Hun, I think it's worth goin back to the doctors, Im sure everything will be okay though, and it's not over until AF shows up

haloflo I get wobbles too like 'oh god what if I do get pg!!!' and start worrying that swearing occasionally/eating lots of chocs/not hoovering everyday means I'll be a horrible mum lol!

Found a brilliant house today is a bit of a shithole project but it's all cosmetic and has a gorgeous walled garden that I can imagine alot bbq's in- especially in weather like we've had today. DP is no 100% sold, he's a worrier about the area. But I don't mind places that are a bit rough round the edges! Grew up in quite q notorious council estate and had a great childhood, so bit nostalgic even if alot of my Funnest Adventures as a kid petrify me now- like when me and my friend found a biscuit tin full of twenties and 'icing sugar' wrapped in clingfilm'! Oh dear!

mrswajs how are you gettin on? How dh is ok.

bellaby loooooved that website!thanks!

pipsicles · 12/04/2010 20:59

Congratulations Capricorn!!! That's brilliant news - you've made me smile .

Commiserations to all those with AFs, although the one positive I took from mine was that at least my body is working properly!

Pinkiepoo - I think I'd hang on in there a little longer before going to the docs, esp as you've been irregular for a while. It is SO frustrating and upsetting when it doesn't come when you want it to, but I came to the conclusion that the stress we put ourselves through can be what makes it worse. Keep thinking positive and plan some nice things to do to take your mind off it (easier said than done, I know - go back a few pages to about 10 days ago and I was a complete mess!!!) (((Hugs)))

Hope you've all had a good start to the week.

Hermya321 · 12/04/2010 23:09

Capricorn WOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations me dear!!! If you want to come and say hi, the grads thread is over here.

bunnygirl80 · 12/04/2010 23:35

Congrats capricorn. That's fab news and it must have been such a surprise for you with the iui not being deemed successful. Maybe just having loads and loads of sex was the answer

felicityFlick · 13/04/2010 01:45

Oh wow capricorn!!! Fab news so pleased for you.

Calyx · 13/04/2010 07:26

Capricorn congratulations! That's so brilliant that you are pg against those odds! Gives me hope good luck!

Hello to everybody who is new!

Computer still dead so just iPhone lurking. About to ov(hopefully) so SWI this week. Will keep looking in but no real news from me as ever!

wannamummy · 13/04/2010 09:01

Thank you for the support haloflo, I'm not sure whether to test or not this month.

Was very tempted this morning as we were at it like rabbits for the past 2 weeks and sure I got the OV days right but feel negative about it.(sorry, TMI!)

Think, if I can, I will wait for AF as I will be very surprised if she does not visit this month.

Just realised what a depressing post this is for first thing in the morning, sorry girls! Hope you all have a good day!

Headbanger · 13/04/2010 09:21

Hallo Frolickers. Um. I have been lurking but not posting as I should do, for which sorry...but I would be so grateful for some advice I am a bit worried and sad...

Last cycle I had spotting exactly 6DPO (after some SWI). This is unheard of, for me: I never have any mid-cycle bleeding. I got very excited (MENTALLY so) and thought it was an implantation bleed. I foolishly did some early tests, all of which were negatives. Then my period came - it wasn't quite as heavy as normal but it seemed pretty definitely a period.

I am now 6DPO and am spotting again. I am worried that this is setting a pattern: maybe I'm getting chemical pregnancies that aren't sticking. Surely it's too much of a coincidence that it's happening exactly the same time in the cycle?

Very rude of me to post a me-me-me message and not acknowledge anyone else: I'm so sorry! I'm going to go for a (gentle) cycle along the canal and try not to worry. Thanks all...

Wannamummy if it helps, I've spoken to so many women who got pregnant and said the month they did, was the one month they were convinced they hadn't!

Kaloki · 13/04/2010 10:54

Congratulations Capricorn you really deserve it after all that!!

OP posts:
applecharlotte · 13/04/2010 11:36

Oh.. just checked and ANOTHER BFP! Congrats Capricorn. You must be over the moon.

The TTC list is getting so small - very nice to see.

Thanks for updating my stats Halo, I think i've actually got a shorter cycle then I thought as over the last 4 months i've averaged 26 days. I'm not sure if thats a good thing or not but I suppose it does help with the wait!

headbanger - that sounds very frustrating, spotting at that time would totally convince me it was implantation. Hm I wonder if it carries on whether you could ask your doctor about it? Sorry for your disappointment though.

womanlytales · 13/04/2010 12:01

Congrats Capricorn Wonderful news of a BFP.
Halo - This cycle my feelings have been all over the place. O was due in the bank holiday - we went to Bath - but I forgot my OPK plus the earlier cycle they didn't show anything and when they did..it was like really late..and quite faint... plus doc said not to use them because he doesn't feel they are reliable at all. Strangely enough I had symptoms for O on D14 and D15...which is perhaps the first time I've been concious of the symptoms [hope it wasn't my mind playing tricks] so think I have ovulated. I spent the first week of the 2ww in that rosy place of it's all going to happen - and I just can't wait... The second week - this one - of my 2ww is a lot more sobering and with a penchant for doomsday scenarios - I am anxious that I didn't ovulate or that implantation will not happen and what then...the let down will be painful when AF arrives... so there you go: It's a rollercoaster ride.

capricorn76 · 13/04/2010 13:09

Thanks guys for the congratulations. We literally threw everything at this cycle, the egg had so much sperm aiming towards it that it couldn't escape being penetrated! Using acupuncture helped me get my head straight too. I've had it every week for 8 weeks and the last 3-4 weeks I've been a lot more calm.

Womanlytales, I?m surprised your Dr said to avoid OPKs as I think they helped me as my ovulation differed from month to month and to be honest I couldn't tell from checking white mucus etc.

Headbanger, maybe your cycle is correcting itself? I twice had two periods in the same month and the doctor told me that my cycle was changing and not to worry about it However, if you're worried I think you should see your Doc or call NHS Direct who I've found to be very helpful in the past.

Wannamummy - As Headbanger has said you never know which month will be the month. I've spent hours in the past reading up early signs of pregnancy and I didn't have any of them apart from a stinking cold. I was so sure my period had started (plus I got a negative test) that I went out boozing! Good luck!

Misswhohaa- I don?t think I have any symptoms that differ from my premenstrual symptoms. My boobs haven?t deflated which would normally happen by now. I?m a bit bloated but I usually am when I?m premenstrual anyway. I do have a bad cold but I had someone coughing all over me last week so I don?t think it?s connected. I?m also tired but I?ve not been sleeping properly because I?ve been ill with the cold so it?s probably that rather than pregnancy. So I guess what I?m saying is that even if you have no unusual symptoms and are sure AF is coming, you could still be pregnant, good luck this month!

Cavemum ? I?ve taken Pregnacare and Sanatogen and didn?t notice bright yellow pee. I did find that I?d No 2 more often, I think they have fibre in them which is why that happened

Haloflo, no worries about putting me on the missing list as I was actually missing. I did feel bad for it but I was trying not to think about the IUI and TTC too much.
Good luck with the temping. I know what you mean about too much information it can be overwhelming. It so tiring having to practically complete a degree in conception studies when some people only have to look at a guy and fall pregnant! Good luck

Dinkytinky ? You made me laugh out loud with the biscuit tin story. BTW what did you do with it! lol! I say go for the house. I came from a not so nice area and nothing bad happened to me. A few friends turned up their noses when we bought where we live now (can?t say where it is as I?m scared someone I know may be able to work out who I am from my posts if they?re on here) but the area?s greatly improved these last couple of years and a lot of young couples and families who can?t afford to live in Islington are moving around here as we have some good schools nearby. Every area has its good and bad spots and a lot of areas get judged on their past reps. Anyway good luck with the house buying.

Congrats to DrewsGirl, Bunnygirl80, Aly323, Mumnerves , Spanishlady, and Luckysevenon your BFPs as I didn?t say so before.

Sorry if I missed anyone out!
