Oh, and Congrats to Spanishlady!!

claireinthecommunity · 06/04/2010 15:15

Ok, so now the text isn't all in bold

Cavemum and Wannamummy, we've told a few close friends and neighbours who we see very regularly, but haven't told any family yet as we aren't close in distance or emotionally to any. That sounds bad about the family thing, but it's just the way things are.

We didn't manage any practicing (of the TTC kind) yesterday, other things cropped up. Maybe tonight

SpanishLady · 06/04/2010 15:20

thank you!

mumnerves · 06/04/2010 19:14

Congratulations spanishlady pipscicles you've just depressed me as I hadn't thought about not being able to have dippy egg

cherrycobbler · 06/04/2010 20:53

Congrats spanishlady !

Pipsicles grrr re AF - but dippy egg, camembert, coffee and champagne - YUM! I have not found a coping strategy (particularly as every month new colleague/ relative/ friend announces pregnancy after zero months of trying) apart from also treating myself to oodles of non-pregnant food and drink. Also can't think about anything else even though work a bit mental and lots of horrible family things going on (dad is v unwell) - just become reasons to be sad I'm not up the duff yet! (work - could go on mat leave! dad - will have a chance to see grandchild etc etc).

aries I have GOLD! ALWAYS BELIEVE IN YOUR SO-UL going round and round and round my head now...

PinkiePoo · 06/04/2010 21:00

cherrycobbler honey it will happen, one way or another it will. You really have to remain strong and positive and its hard from hearing that from people who have had children or preggos (i should know) but i am neither and i do believe a positive outlook makes the body just relax and destress. And we have to look at all the positives that we couldn't do if we were preggo.

So you enjoy those eggs, fish, sushi, wine and non-stretch mark skin while you can, until it happens

Big hugs honey and really hope your dad gets better soon x x x x

mumnerves · 06/04/2010 21:20

pipsicles as said above, it will come. Just 2 months ago I was feeling a bit like you and going just a bit crazy. You'll get there eventually. They may have said they tried and got preggers immediately BUT you don't really know how long they were trying for! Hope your dad gets better soon x

Can I just say the graduates thread is so nice. Your names are on it so you're all welcome to join us. I didn't realise before that we were welcome either but it's always lovely when anyone else joins in

Have a good week everyone! x

cherrycobbler · 06/04/2010 21:29

thanks so much for your kind words both (mumsnerves I am going to brazenly assume that you meant me because of the dad comment - pips sorry if I'm stealing your comment!). you're both so lovely and so right and we've only been properly trying for a really short time so not really got a right to moan! thanks for wishes re dad too. He's got a bit of an awful condition which we only found out about at the end of last year) which won't get better (unless miracles happen/ massive scientific discovery - fingers crossed!!) but he's ok ish at the moment and stability and slow progression is all we can and do hope for. Eurgh - sorry about depressing self centred post - not meaning to bring the mood down at all - boo!

I am excited about joining the grads thread (soon!) and complaining about not being able to indulge in eggy, fishy, winey, coffee-y feasts

cherry xxx

haloflo · 06/04/2010 21:32

Hi all, I'm just on phone so won't be a long message from me. Just wanted to send many congratulations to Spanish lady! kkas sorry about AF hope this break is just what you need & you come back ready to go. Sorry about your AF toopipsicles cherry sorry everything around you isn't helping. We will all get there.

I'm not sure when I plan to test, just taking it one day at a time. Maybe Sunday?

mumnerves · 06/04/2010 21:33

Cherry sorry but yes I meant you
Sorry to hear he's so unwell, I hope you manage to hang on to him as long as possible with as little suffering as poss for him and rest of your family x

mumnerves · 06/04/2010 21:35

pipsicles Sorry about AF but my body did that to me many many times before my BFP. In fact it was the cycle with the least signs when it happened for me. I was hating my body too at the time, so know exactly what you are going through! ((hands out the pate and alcohol))

CaveMum · 06/04/2010 21:53

Must confess to having a few Tia Marias tonight ladies - oh well!
Have had my chat with my BF who was wonderful as always. She told me she half expected me to tell her I was pregnant already!

On singing matters, we've got Spandau Ballet playing at the racecourse this summer, so looking forward to belting out a bit of "Gold"! claire do you ever come to the Newmarket Nights? I'd highly recommend it! We've got Spandau Ballet, Simply Red, Madness, James Morrison, Razorlight, some X-Factor failures and (bleugh) Westloife (bleugh) this year! As you can tell, I'm not planning on going to the last 2, but will be there for all the others.

Kaloki · 06/04/2010 22:26

Aries Straight after posting that I went into my local shop and they were playing Gold. How crazy is that?

Went to the doctors' today about my cramps, they looked confused, but are sending me for blood tests. He reckons it is most likely either IBS, or the start of Coeliacs. Joy!

For now I am waiting for my cheesecake to stop cooling, and DP is waiting for shortbread to cool down. I came over all bakey (?!) for a while there

OP posts:
chico193 · 06/04/2010 22:34

Congratulations SL!

Well I am really confused! I had been having (imagining) more symptoms than normal, nausea, really sore boobs, tiredness. Then this morning thought AF had started - normal cramps and bleeding. Cramps have eased off this evening, been to the loo and bleeding has slowed right down - nothing new in the last 4 hours. This is not normal for me, I usually have heaviest bleeding on first day and then it gradually slows down over about five days. Nausea has continued today and has been getting stronger each day since last Thurs but I know this could still all be coincidence.

I am on CD 40, 16dpo. I know that some people have light bleeding around the time they expect AF when they are pregnant, but how much is 'light'? Is it normal red blood even if you are pregnant or would it look old? Am I just being over-optimistic?

Hermya321 · 06/04/2010 22:53

Well done Spanishlady, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

When you're ready to come on across we've got the kettle on and the biscuits are being passed round!!!

claireinthecommunity · 06/04/2010 23:12

Cavemum, no I haven't made it to the racecourse for any of the music nights yet, we are going to see Simply Red though at Thetford Forest in the summer

Oooh Kaloki, cheesecake and shortbread - yum!

Calyx · 07/04/2010 06:44

Congratulations spanishlady!

SpanishLady · 07/04/2010 08:38

many thanks again to all! After the shock and euphoria I have of course reverted back to my usual worried self and am wishing my life away so that it is end of May and I'm through the first trimester.

we are starting to stop talking aways about 'titch' and getting back to normal life as nothing is going to happen for a while now but I did make an appointment with the doctor and made a tentative inquiry about NCT classes for the right time (sept-Oct course)as doctors advised they get full quickly in my area.

feel I have pushed my luck as much as I can for now...

Cherry, have been fortunate to get preganant the second cycle of trying but I didnt expect that and am very grateful.

I think the fact that you had the kindness and generosity to wish me luck and congratulate me says alot about you and I think you are a stronger lady then you might give yourself credit for.

A friend announced her pregnancy last month on the day I started bleeding after thinking we had cracked it as had preg symptons - she says it was their first month of trying and I wanted to jump up and down and scream!!! - ok, the irony is not lost on me that it was also my first cycle so am not sure what I was so indignant about other then I was jealous.

Shes a nice girl most of the time but sometimes shes can be so insensitive - another friend of ours has been trying to conceive for 13 years and had 2 failed IVF rounds behind her and this girl would merrily chat about what month she wanted to conceive in and what colour eyes she'd prefer etc in front of her - so I was almost sorry she had not had to wait a few months so she could appreciate how our mutual friend might be feeling - though appreciate a few months is nowhere near the same as 13 years.

I guess I just wnated to say that it is nerve racking and very emotional trying to conceive and all the warnings and 'horror' stories you have heard that you dismissed because getting pregnant wasnt on your agenda - all come back to haunt you.

LIke my husband kept telling me everytime I said maybe we wouldnt be able to or maybe we would have problems - he would retort 'yes but why not us - why shouldnt we be ok, most people are'

good luck for this next cycle xx

chico193 · 07/04/2010 10:20

Now I think I am definitely out, have more bleeding this morning. Thick red clots so now don't know whether maybe I was pregnant for a little while. Definitely don't feel it any more.

claireinthecommunity · 07/04/2010 12:02

Congratulations to SpanishLady Seems like maybe April is the month for the BFPs?! Fingers crossed for the rest of us eh!

Pinkie Glad you've joined us here, you'll love it everyone is really nice!

Sorry I've been AWOL again girls - don't know what I seem to be doing with my time but not much of it has been spent in here that's for sure! I am a bad thread buddy!

We are looking after a friends dog just now as he and his girlfriend have split up and she doesn't want him (the dog) so that's taking up a bit of time - the dog is crazy! Very boisterous and bloody heavy too, nearly knocked me off my feet when he arrived! I think DP is hoping that I'll take to him and we might just keep him but I'm sticking to the temporary plan!! It's not that I mind dogs but I would rather have a baba first and then a dog (if we have time!)

Managing to temp a bit better now as I have been sleeping better the last few days so hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon! Dunno who posted a link to an access diagnostics thermometer but it is the one I ordered and it does the job just fine, only problem being I ordered the fahrenheit one and got the celsius one but can still chart with it so hey ho!

Anyway not much else going on, still have AF so waiting for that to disappear then get cracking with baby-making Am not going to miss any opportunities this month I will be SWI'ing every 2nd day until AF arrives!! Just in case ov is allover the shop again!

PinkiePoo · 07/04/2010 14:20

mrswajs ahh it is lovely here

Glad to see you are well...how is the hubby now after the fall?

Ahh i do like doggies, however i had a choice of either a dog or a baby, as you can tell you can guess which i went for.....

You get SWIing girl!!!

Dinkytinky · 07/04/2010 14:52

Hi everyone!
sorry have been a bit AWOL - viewing houses and window shopping for decortaing ideas with DP!
Congtratualations spanishlady that was such a lovely post! Im sure you must hold some sort of record for the shortest time on this thread lol!
chicosorry to hear about nasty AF, really hope you get a chance to put your feet up and have some lovely cream cakes or something.
Mrswajs hi! doggy sounds like a nutter - if me and DP split up there's no way i'd l;et him keep our pooch, not because he's a terrible owner or anything, just because he's my surrogate baby lol! hows everything wth wrists/evil troll/everything else?
pinkipoo our names together sound slike a kids tv show lol!

have been very guilty of symptom spotting this week. buuuut in my defense I've been utterly knckered and ready to sleep at around 7pm (even when i've done nowt all day), have (tmi!) way more creamy cm than usual, waggling feeling in uterus, weeing quite frequently.. and, not sure if this one is related but i've been so forgetful/jumbled it's ridiculous, like caling everything by the wrong name over and over and going blank in the middle of sentences. Is it wrong that if I got sore boobs and started puking I would be so excited?!

Bit of a weird moment as well from DP's ex (from like 7 years ago) over the weekend. never had a problem with her before and seemed to get on quite well really. but bumped into her on saturday and she went really crazy - saying how dp was meant to be hers, they were supposed to move to chester together, why did he leave?! and then called me a whore(don't worry they'd been split up for 2 years before i met him)! god it was so embarrasing.

Hope everyones having a lovely day full of no work and chocolates!

MrsWajs · 07/04/2010 15:53

Pinkie DP is fine now - still has a cast on his right arm, but hopefully getting that off next week! Fingers crossed!

Dinky The dog is totally nuts - has lots of bad habits, probably from lack of attention. Mooches at the table and pulls on the lead (a lot) nearly had me on my backside a few times cus he weighs about 5 stone!! But I'm already finding myself getting attached to him Must stay strong!!
And OMG about DP's ex! She sounds almost as bad as the mine! Wonder what triggered that? Was DP with you when it happened? Haven't heard anymore yet from the trolls solicitor so nowt new happening with that as yet. Liking the sound of your symptoms tho - hope it's a good sign!

PinkiePoo · 07/04/2010 16:54

dinkytinky we could be cbeebies partners in crime

And um....WTF???!!!! Your OH ex sounds like a physcho bitch excuse my language....i could say a lot worse, but will remain to have some dignity for now.

Well i have a meeting tomorrow night with my OH wife (soon to be ex wife this month ) as his daughter is now coming to stay with us for the first time this weekend and she wants to meet me. Totally understand it, but dreading it!!

Feel like i am going to a step mum interview!!
