Well, look at it this way. Sooner or later everything is going to start costing a fortune, so you may as well get something cheap now. As long as it works, it'll be ok, won't it. A friends gave me mine, which is why I'm not keen on putting it in orifices (yeargh)

Ariesgirl · 05/04/2010 19:44

Oh and cherry, my DH has no idea CM even exists and I intend keeping it that way.

mumnerves · 05/04/2010 19:55

Aries my last 3 cycles were 28, 26, 31. I think I read somewhere that 4 days difference is quite normal

cavemum I just got mine from boots. It came with a little diary, pouch and thermometer holder. I don't know if it was any better than others but it looks very similar to the one you posted. I think it was £12. Probably similar thing and you can just print off your own charts

I'm with you guys on just testing oral temp. No way could I do that half asleep

luckyseven · 05/04/2010 20:28

just putting in my tuppence on temping before heading to the cinema to see the Blind Side.

I paid £12 for the Boots one as i think i read it is important to measure to two decimal places - never used the book or the stupid cover and just plug in the stats to fertilityfriend.com - if you don't know it already it is a great site to get to grips with temping.

If i was doing it again would just get a thermometer that measures to two decimals and forget about the useless folder thing at boots.

and no armpits or fanjo for me!

cherrycobbler · 05/04/2010 20:48

Ah, now I have thermometer envy - I didn't know Boots had one that came in two decimal places...

Watched the Blind Side on the plane a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it - thought Sandra B was v good in it. Hope you enjoy it lucky let me know what you think!

Logging off now to watch some trashy TV with DH then packing my bag for work - feels like going back to school after hols - not fun!

claireinthecommunity · 05/04/2010 22:40

Belated happy birthday for Saturday Haloflo

Felicity and Kaloki, hubby and me are a music duo. We both sing, DH plays guitar and I 'play' percussion. I also play the piano, well keyboard - no room for a piano, but it isn't part of the act, yet. We play a variety of styles, including rock, blues, country, disco, soul, pop, rock n roll, from 50s through to current. We play at functions, social clubs and pubs, and tailor the playlist to the audience on the night. Bookings tend to be quiet at the start of the year, and are just staring to pick up now - hence the need for hearsing.

Aries, my cycle length has varied between 28-32 days since coming off the pill, I've felt that this was pretty stable.

Cherry, "...thermometer envy..."

SpanishLady · 06/04/2010 09:08

Dear All,

I wonder if I could please be put on the graduate list? I got two BFPs on Saturday - I am fervently praying it sticks as my husband and I are so excited!!

Aries - I thought about you and wondered how you had gotten on.

I am very sorry not to be next to you at the bottom of the grad list but I very much hope to have to bunge up to make room for you next cycle so dont think you have gotten away from me just yet!!

Oh bless you, don't apologise! I'm very happy for you and I'm just a sarcastic crotchety old mare. Just save me a space and hopefully a few more of us will squeeze in next to you. I wish you a boring and trouble free none months!

maamalady · 06/04/2010 12:41

Congratulations, SpanishLady! Fantastic news

pipsicles · 06/04/2010 12:41

Congratulations SpanishLady That's brilliant news for you!!!

My AF finally arrived this morning Not too happy and DH is a bit gutted too, but at least we know where we stand again. He's pleased we get another month trying anyway!!!

So to celebrate arrival of AF, we have all non-baby/pregnancy friendly foods back on the menu: dippy egg, baked camembert, king prawns, coffee and champagne! I know I shoudln't put everything on hold 'just in case', but everytime AF arrives we do this to make it all a little bit more bearable. We're also thinking that the reverse psychology of looking forward to these things might help me not to symptom spot so badly next month.

We think it might be my absolute desperation to be pregnant that made my body behave like it was this month. Anyone else have any other theories on this, or ideas of how to prevent it? I keep finding people say ever so helpful things like "just relax and it will happen" or "just try not to think about it all the time"!!! We all know it's not as simple as that! All I need is to see a baby or pregnant woman and my mind starts wandering. I hear a pretty name I like and add it to my list, spot someone in the street with the pram we've got (bought it from a friend for fraction of the cost already ) etc, etc. How can you just 'forget' about it?!

Anyway, for the time being, I'm going to try and cope by knowing we can definately start again, tracking the healthy and unhealthy things we eat and by making a concerted effort to do more exercise. What coping strategies do you all use?

Hope you're all getting back into the routine of work okay.

Ariesgirl · 06/04/2010 12:41

NINE months ffs!

pipsicles · 06/04/2010 12:48

ffs?

Ariesgirl · 06/04/2010 12:51

FFS = For Fuck's Sake!!! Stooopid typing made it look as though I was wishing SpanishLady no months of pregnancy.

BOLD! Always believe in your soul, You've got the power to know, You're indestructible...

Kaloki · 06/04/2010 12:54

You're indestructible!!

Hahah

Pipsicles I haven't found any coping strategies yet. Do you knpow what is really depressing, TTC is actually making me want sex less! How helpful

OP posts:
Kaloki · 06/04/2010 12:55

Sorry, forgeot to write that I was joining in with the singing. I thought I wrote it, obviously not, imagine how my brain will work when I do get pregnant!

OP posts:
CaveMum · 06/04/2010 13:51

Afternoon ladies - just popping in during my lunchbreak. Anyone else think we should get nice long breaks from work like school holidays?!

Anyhoo, big congrats to Spanishlady.

My best mate is coming over this evening so I'll be confiding in her - we're not going to tell anyone that we're ttc as it will be too much pressure - but I told DH I needed someone to talk to in real life, as well as you lovely ladies. He reluctantly agreed on the condition that she can't tell anyone else!

Men just don't understand the need to talk sometimes!

claireinthecommunity · 06/04/2010 13:59

Congratulations Spanishlady

Sorry to hear about AF Kkas, Aries and Pipsicles.

Kkas, also sorry to hear you are thinking of taking a break from the TTC this month because of the 'issues' with DH, it may be just what the two of you need x.

Loving the singing , how come all the writing is coming up in bold though, have I missed something?

wannamummy · 06/04/2010 14:03

Just nipping in on my lunch too.

I'm with you Cavemum! We're not meant to be telling anyone, but I confided to my friend on Friday. She's TTC #2 and an afternoon with #1 made me so sad when they left to drive the 2hours home. It was nice catching up though, do not like this split personality me at the moment, happy but jealous, not good...

Here's hoping the Easter luck will shine on a few more of us ladies in the next few weeks... xxx
