pipsicles, like you say it can be a bit of a minefield. I guess the attitude to take is that everything in moderation is the best way forward. Woman were having babies for a very longtime before scientists came along and starting saying "Don't eat/drink this or that."

Well, I'm in for a quiet afternoon & evening. DH has gone out with a few of his mates for the night and for some reason one of them decided that meeting at 3pm was the best way to go! Thanks for that! Never mind the fact that I only get to see my DH at weekends and every moment is important to us.

To be honest this mate and I don't see eye to eye and never have done. He's never really liked me as I "stole" his mate from him . He's a bit like Smithy in Gavin and Stacey - "Why haven't you called me for two weeks?" "Coz I've been on honeymoon?" "And?!"

DH knows how I feel about this mate but I'd never dream of telling him not to see him. They've been mates since they were 15 and even DH agrees he can be a nightmare at times.

Last time they went out, in Cambridge, they were all staying at DH's mums house and DH and mate got separated. His mate decided at 3am in the morning to call ME at home because he couldn't find DH. WTF am I supposed to do about it?! I told him there was nothing I could do but over the next half an hour he phoned our house 3 more times. ARRRGGHHHH

Sorry to vent at you all ladies, but just needed to get that off my chest.

I think my plan for the evening consists of veg on the sofa with the cat and watch Doctor Who followed by Ashes to Ashes. Anyone have any nice plans?

luckyseven · 02/04/2010 16:49

cavemum like you have been abandoned by dh for laddish pursuits so i called one of the other 'wags' and we are going out for an early bird tea to a really nice restaurant we have never been to before and apparently i am 'cheating' on him!

My friend is due soon and i have been told in no uncertain terms that i should not share anything about ttc as he doesn't want his mates to know we haven't instantly got pg. (if only he knew how much a share wuth you all) - he is dead curious what i am up to online but this thread is my happy ttc place - no boys allowed!

Whilst I am on congratulations to mumnerves wonderful news and a brilliant boost for you and dh right now.

Welcome to pipsicles and Happy Easter to all - nine days off - bliss!

pipsicles · 02/04/2010 16:52

I'm off to Ask with DH and SIL, then to the cinema to see The Blind Side. I am really excited because we haven't been to the cinema for a year I don't think, and I really fancy pasta for dinner. Plus, it will take my mind of everything because I won't be able to talk about it!!!

Off to my parents tomorrow for Easter. We get on well and my little brother is only 14, so he'll be happy to see us.

Be good to hear what everyone else is doing.

PS - I think I have started spending far too much time on here - DH just asked if I was on her again!

CaveMum · 02/04/2010 17:05

Have fun both of you - luckyseven and pipsicles wish I could call on someone to come round. Whilst I have plenty of aquaintances etc around here I have very few friends and the only one I'd want to come round - my best buddy and the only other person to know out ttc plans - is on call this week. She works at the racing stud I used to work at and it is her week to be at the beck and call of the covering shed (where all the horsey swi goes on!). Ho hum, at least someone will be getting pg this weekend, even if it is the horses!

If any of you are at all horsey, or just plain nosey, there is a video of a mare giving birth on the Racing Post website. I've just been watching it and thinking how nice it would be to go back to my old job - if I could still get paid the same as I do now and work the 9-5 hours instead of silly o'clock to god knows when!

If you go to this page and near the top of the page click on the tab that says "Racing Post Television" then click the video that says "Born to Run - Foaling" you can watch a 10 minute video on the birth of a foal.
For those of you that want to see horse porn the video of the mating of a mare you can select the one that says "Born to Run - Conception". This video is about 18 minutes long.

It is really interesting, promise!

Ariesgirl · 02/04/2010 17:14

Hello everyone. Feeling very sheepish because on 2 1/2 glasses of white wine been suffering from my worst hangover in ages. It was mystifyingly awful and only now am starting to feel ok. Maybe my body's trying to tell me something. Hope everyone's having a nice Good Friday. Will watch the foal vid I think Cavemum. I saw a programme called Animal Park (you know, with Fogle and Humble at Longleat) and they had this big old female giraffe in a shed who they were a bit concerned about as she was nearly 50 and pregnant. They were expecting to have to do a C section on her. One morning the keeper came in to feed her in the morning and there stood mum and a brand new boy giraffe both perfectly happy and content - she'd done it all on her own in the night. Fair brought a lump to my throat! Aren't animals amazing?

CaveMum · 02/04/2010 17:27

Aries I know what you mean. It's the one thing I miss most about my old job - its been 9 years since I left and I really do miss being there at those special moments.

Ask me to foal down a mare and I'm in there up to my elbows in amniotic fluid and blood; ask me to give birth myself and I'll be the one in the corner in a foetal position rocking back and forth !

Dinkytinky · 02/04/2010 21:38

*Hey everyone!
mrs wajs that sucks about doctors- I've read before about women who haven't got bfp's until they're 4 months gone so hopefully it will be a similar thing for you- are you still going to ask fir blood test?
Cavemumlol it does seem that eveything is bad for you!my dp showed me a blog a while ago that contained everything thateither gave you cancer, cured cancer or both and believe me it was mental!
aly really crossing my fingers that everything will be ok for you XXXXXXX

Aries any sign of AF?
Hii to lucky pip kaloki spanishlady wannamummy kkas bellabycalligraphy and everyoneelse I've missed!

Not much new here aprt from lots of (tmialert )creamy White cm,I don't use kits etc at the mo but I'm positive I ov'd early, don't ask me why?!
But I'm officially beginning the 2ww today so well see. Have been a bit down to be honest last night and today- before I mc'd at 5 weeks I had the sorest nipples I could ever imagine so I kinda feel like unles that happens again I'm deffo not pg. Although I know that every pregnancy can be different in terms of sickness etc. It's weird thinking I was 3 weeks gone this time last year, and didn't even know it. wasn't even trying! Blearhh..
Sorry for being a bit of a killjoy! Lots of good luck and wishes ladies(!!!) x
Ah well,

Ariesgirl · 02/04/2010 21:53

No, no sign of AF but for some reason I'm reading absolutely nothing into that at all. I fully expect it to arrive tomorrow, though I've no spotting at all yet which I'd usually have. Think there's possibly a mistake on the stats on this thread as it's saying I'm day 29 of 29, but I think it's 28. Or is my maths out? My last AF started four Fridays ago when I got up.

Ariesgirl · 02/04/2010 21:54

Oh and sorry to hear of your mc last year Dinky. I didn't know that.

bunnygirl80 · 02/04/2010 22:51

I came over here mainly for a lurk to check up on you all but I can't help myself and I've had to tamper with the list. Poor mumnerves got her BFP on 1st April not 1st March!!!

Aries If your last AF was 4 Fridays ago then you're on cd29 - when are you planning on POASing? A hangover after a small quantity of alcohol is a good sign!

Morning All. First one up today (or saddest for putting the computer on straight away?!)

Another BFN this morning I said yesterday that I'd just let it all go if that happened, but it's so hard. I think DH knows, but I haven't explicitly told him. We're going to my mum's this morning, and I'm looking forward to having a chat with her and a good ole cry.

The problem is, I don't know where to go from here. Have I just missed an AF? Is there something wrong with me? How do I know when to expect to ov? I've logged onto Fertility Friend, but inputting my data this morning just told me it could no longer reliably predict ov! On top of this, I feel like I have every pg symptom going: sore boobs (although not tender - more sharp pain and not all the time either - any advice there?), peeing a lot, drinking a lot, crying a lot, stuffy nose. All things that I've never had before, so it's crap being told by a stupid bit of plastic with a window that it all means nothing! I know you said Dinky that it has been known for people to not get BFP for four months, but I don't know if I can be that optimistic!!! (sorry about your mc btw).

Anyway. That's enough about me - sorry for being so self-obsessed.

Aries I hope your hangover is a good sign!

I should probably go for now - DH has the tv all set up with yesterday's neighbours and and a cup of tea! Sweet!

Hope you all have a good day. xxx

Ariesgirl · 03/04/2010 08:54

Pipsicles hang in there. Hope your visit to your mum helps.

Just caved in and peed on a stick and it was negative. Sigh. Still no AF though so we'll see.

haloflo · 03/04/2010 08:55

pipsicles I 'm really sorry about your BFN. You aren't being self obsessed at all. Without seeing your chart its hard to know what happened but as im sure you know its possible ovulation has come later in your cycle or if FF says its can't predict ovulation, maybe you've had an anovolatory cycle. You know you can still get a BFP as you could be an entirely different number of days past ov but even if your AF is just around the corner then we are here for you to rant/cry on. We have all been there and know how you feel. I'm sure your mum & DH will make you feel better & take care of you. Have a good day. xxx

felicity Thank you for the stats praise, that made me feel good. Clearly your praise was short lived as I didn't notice that mumsnerves BFP was the wrong month!!! oops! Well done bunny for fixing it. I have signed up to FF and one good thing about AF arriving this cycle with mean I can start filling a chart in!

mrswajs From reading TCOYF and what you have said about your temping I wonder if you either are also going through an anovolatory cycle (so your temp just varies with no clear & sustained high temps) or your disrupted sleep/nightshifts means that your temping isn't very accurate. If it isn't that accurate then maybe you did ovulate but much much later in your cycle. You have had a lot of stress with your DP's children and him breaking bones so that wouldn't be surprising. Saying you temping might not be accurate isn't meant to offend you btw so I hope it doesn't. I feel for you waking up so often though! Theres are few of you in the getting BFN's, waiting for AF club. I hope you all get to leave it soon!

aries I echo that I hope the hangover is a sign, otherwise there is nothing worse than a undeserved hungover. You going to test today or tomorrow if no AF?

dinky I'm also sorry to hear about your mc, it must be hard thinking about the past. I hope this this 2ww brings you your BFP in the here and now. April will be a lucky month!

cavemum I hope your DH is making it up to you this morning. His mate sounds like hard work so I hope your DH came home before 3 this time especially after going out at 3! My DP is off to the pub at 12(!) to watch the football today but i'm going for coffee with my mum and sister so I don't mind too much.

luckyseven I hope you enjoyed your meal out.

zippys are you away for the easter weekend or are you still busy working? I hope everything is ok with you.

claireinthecommunity · 03/04/2010 10:12

Morning all!, just a flying visit from me (again ). I wanted to see if there was any news news from aly yet - hoping all is well with you aly x

Hope everyone has a great easter .

Kaloki · 03/04/2010 10:44

pipsicle Sorry to hear that, hang in there though sweetheart. There's a few of us in the same situation as you with bizarre cycles if it's any consolation.

dinky So sorry to hear about your MC

Sorry for BFN's girls.

Just a quick flying visit as the in laws have arrived- I think I am over visitors now!

Will lurk for news and post when I can!

Hope you're ok aly

Love to all and happy Easter xxx

Calyx · 03/04/2010 11:23

Sorry for bfn's to all who tested. On phone, pc is dead AF arrived yesterday, now on CD2 of cycle 11 boo hiss but at least it was a short cycle so can start swi again in a week. Cycle 11

happy Easter everyone, hope you're getting some nice weather, it's been a wee bit sunny in Glasgow although cold.

Kaloki · 03/04/2010 12:05

Godammit, even characters in webcomics I read are pregnant

OP posts:
kurlyvoice · 03/04/2010 12:09

Hello all! Just a quickie from me as we wait for our flight to be called... I wanted to congratulate aly and mumsnerves on their BFPs and thank everyone for their support when I was getting upset. I should also report that, even though AF has shown no signs of appearing, DH and I will be celebrating our first anniversary tomorrow and will spend the next week enjoying selfish couple time. And I packed two skimpy bikinis so if that doesn't bring on AF, nothing will! Happy Easter everyone.

Just thought I would update that since AF FINALLY arrived this morning!! No commiserations required I have actually never been so glad - at least I know where I am now! Just hoping 45 day cycles are not going to become a regular occurence!!

Will be trying to keep up lurking over the weekend but probably not posting as we have (step)DS and have lots of visiting to do since it's Easter weekend! Hopefully get a proper good catch up with you all on Sunday evening

Hope everyone has a good wekend.xx

I'll change it quickly b4 I log off.

just a quick one from me to see if there is any news from aly - sending all my positive thoughts to the west coast!

Thanks mrswaj and glad you are in a happy place now that AF has arrived. Have a lovely time with your (step)DS, I am going egg painting and rolling in the morning with my wee niece, nice to be around kids at Easter.

I have just done tomorrow's list in word ready to cut and paste in the morning as we we are all here there and everywhere this weekend. Will not post at midnight like last time as tonight could be a late one!

calyx hope you don't mind but i have updated your stats for tom because of the evil one showing up - boo hiss!

aly323 i'm thinking about you ...

Oh and if anyone is looking for a great feel good, no boys allowed film for over the holidays if you haven't seen Julie and Julia I highly recommend it!
