Hi frolickers,

Will be back tomorrow with a big update when all my visitors have gone. Just had a quick read through and wanted to post to say happy birthday to lovely aries and say mumnerves, it looks soooooo promising with your temps.... that is all I'm going to say as don't want to egg you on too much

Back tomorrow, love and easter eggs to all xxx

CaveMum · 01/04/2010 07:07

Morning ladies (tee hee!)

Firstly - Happy Birthday to Ariesgirl, hope you have a lovely day and get thoroughly spoilt!

Dinky I'm obsessing so much about the whole pregnancy/baby situation that I'm sure I'll have a nervous breakdown before long
But seriously, I think it's normal to stress out about things like that. As I've said in other posts, I've NO baby experience whatsoever and the prospect of being left alone with a tiny baby, even my own, is pretty darn scary! Ariesgirl did make me laugh though - pointing out that they won't break or spontaneously combust too easily!

As people have said to me, the fact that we worry is a sign we care very much, which can only be a good thing for our future offspring. I often worry I will be one of those mothers that fills their childs time with so many activities. Whilst I had a very happy childhood, we never had much money and DH and I are very fortunate to earn good money. I'd love my kids to have the opportunity to do things I never got the chance to when I was young - horseriding lessons (I didn't discover my love of horses till I was 13), dancing lessons (I started dancing at the age of 22 & love it so much I wish I'd been able to start when I was small).

I think my future children will have no danger of being obese if I fill their time with so many activities!

There I go, rambling again!

Hope everyone has a good day - really looking forward to the long weekend!

bunnygirl80 · 01/04/2010 07:32

Just popping in to wish aries a happy birthday

cavemum I said you'd crack and want to bring TTC forwards and I was right It is good news that your DH doesn't have to go to Afghanistan for another couple of years.

mumnerves good luck with POASing. An increase in BBT is a pretty good sign, especially if your temp then stays up.

lucky I wouldn't worry too much about the odd drink on the 2ww. Just try and drink sensibly! In fact, I went off booze a couple of days before my BFP - I had one small glass of wine and then poured a second and just could not drink it That's so very unlike me I started to suspect that I might in fact have got pg! I've still got the rest of that bottle in the fridge - I think it might have turned to vinegar before I get to finish it

Not much to report from me - I've been feeling a little less sick today, hopefully I'll carry on feeling better and escape full blown ms

Ariesgirl · 01/04/2010 08:04

Aaah, thanks bunny, I'm really touched! I'm starting to think I have better friends on here than I do in RL - top of a very slippery slope, I think you'll agree

Have a treat later. I have to turn up at a spa and say who I am and something is booked. When I told my sis, she thought I meant Spar

Hope you're well and the MS stays away

mumnerves · 01/04/2010 08:24

OMG! OMG!
BFP!!!!!

I did an internet cheapie one and it was a very faint +ve after 10 mins so did a first response and also 2 lines!!

I'm still in shock and feel as though it's an aprils fool joke

DH's response when I shoved the first response at him:

"What's that?"

Then " You're pregnant?"

Then " no, that doesn't mean I can drink again"

Then " You're pregnant!! I'm going to be a daddy"

then at some point later " wow, my balls do work!"

Have a nice day everyone! Would type more but got to rush to work

bunnygirl80 · 01/04/2010 08:45

Congratulations mumnerves

lol at your DH and "my balls do work" - my DH had a similar reaction and still feels vv proud of his manliness!!

Ariesgirl · 01/04/2010 08:46

Congratulations! Wonderful news mumnerves

Am very envious! Have a lovely day.

Pidgin · 01/04/2010 08:54

Happy birthday aries! How exciting about the spa, have fun!

& many congrats mumnerves!

SpanishLady · 01/04/2010 09:03

congratulations Mumnerves!
ooh what a great start to the month

finger crossed for you Aries

thanks to all for welcoming me - my AF is due tomorrow - I do hope none of you will be offended if I say that I hope I will beleaving this thread next week.....!!

Hermya321 · 01/04/2010 10:12

Mumsnerves CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so so so happy for you!!!! That is fantabulous news!!!

Here's the grads thread. We've got a biscuit and a cuppa saved for you!

Ariesgirl · 01/04/2010 10:18

I'll be hoping we'll both be leaving SpanishLady

Hoping in vain on my part I fear. I feel ever so pre-menstrual . Have got that awful sinking/depressed/impatient/rage feeling. But I have got a spot - do you think I might be pregnant?

Does anyone know what I mean when I say I'm not so much desperate to have a baby (though obviously I want one) as just so much to know I can be pregnant? Just like other women. Am down in the dumps now. This won't do - the sun's shining and everything.

Anyway off I go to the Spar

Biscuitbreaker · 01/04/2010 10:23

Ariesgirl - you never know... I've been feeling terribly pmt-like... but no AF still....?

Hermya321 · 01/04/2010 10:43

Dinkytink I nearly had a melt down in Tescos the other day as I went down the baby aile. I was looking at the bottles, rattles and bibs and it suddenly hit me 'I'm going to have a real live baby'. I'm going to be responsible for another human being. I'm going to have to make sure it's clothed, fed and doesn't turn into a toddler with a ASBO before the age of three (that one may be a bit of a stretch for me). It's a normal reaction though and it's a huge step to take. It's perfectly normal to freak out a bit, don't worry you're not on your own.

Spanishlady We've got a biscuit saved for you as well and you Ariesgirl.

Bellaby · 01/04/2010 10:54

Morning Ladies/Girls or whatever we have decided is the correct term!

Just a quick one from me as am off to a wedding in Cambridge shortly. Isn't that your neck of the woods Claire? Mumsnerves -WOW WONDERFUL NEWS CONGRATS! . Sorry to hear you had to cancel your weekend away. Know how much you were looking forward to it. I think it's good that you will get to see your Aunt - I'm sorry to hear the news about her.

Arielsgirl - I hope you managed to convince the bank to lend to you for your business. Any sign of AF?

DinkyTink - what did you think of the Chancellors debate? I thought that Osbourne was weak which was a shame as I was really hoping he would give me reason to vote for them. Vince Cable seemed to be the most on top of things although maybe him being more in the middle with less to lose (in terms of knowing they can't win the election) makes it easier.

Thanks for the ov comments Calyx, Kaloki & Haloflo - still no change in the CBDM - it is still saying 'high fertility' and I'm on day 22 - now part of my brain is just wondering if it is a way they get you to buy more test sticks as I'm going to end up using 20 this month! Not quite sure what is going on. Felt a little under the weather earlier in the week but don't think that was related. Anyway my SWI plans really didn't go according to plan. Last Sunday DH ended up drinking just a little too much whisky with his brother and then it's been another very hectic week on the work front. Oh well - will have to aim for next month. Haloflo - you are now the resident expert and I like the fact you have been studying hard

Calligraphy - sorry to hear about your condition! Hope it starts to get better with the medication. Difficult decision on holidays. DH & I were discussing somewhere we really want to go to and he said it would be best to go in Jan/Feb next year but then we thought that would be silly given we don't know what will be happening then! We've put holidays on hold this year but that's mainly to try and make sure we get our house renvated and focus on work and a business we've started! Know what you mean about wanting to do something nice whilst it is still just the 2 of you.

Zippys -did you decide to go with the purchase? I am like you and when I see something like that I just rush in a get it before I think too much about it. I think if you are comfortable with the price and can afford it then why not. I know it's not what others on here thought but so much depends on your own personal situation.

evilgiraffe - glad the doctor reassured you. Didn't someone mention something on here a while back that can help to bring on AF? sorry that's a bit vague but will have to go back and check

SpanishLady - bienvenidos a nuestra chatroom!

cavemum -good luck with your chat this weekend. Good news that he can postpone the trip to Afghanistan until 2012. Very exciting that you might be actually starting to TTC sooner than you thought! We did warn you that you wouldnt' be able wait as long as you originally planned.

luckyseven - I think you should have a couple of drinks. I have had a few drinks this week even though I am in the 2WW (or at least I think I am) and I'm only on month 2! Just find it very hard to put everything on hold for 2-3 weeks of every month. I will probably have a couple of glasses of champagne at the wedding but will try to be disciplined and not have much more than that.

Hermya - lovely to hear from you as ever. You are just so lovely

Cherry - hope work is going ok. You are nearly there!

Felicity - did you see any Mr Men at the Hong Kong sevens?

Ooops - really have to go now. We are leaving in 10 minutes and I am still in my sweaty gym clothes and haven't showered, dressed or packed!

Maybe wasn't quite so quick as I thought

Lots of love

Bellaby

CaveMum · 01/04/2010 11:52

Just snuck on during a quiet moment at work and can't believe what I have seen!!!!

Congratulations mumsnerves how fantastic for you!!!

Bellaby whereabouts is the wedding in Cambridge? I'm in that part of the world too (home of horseracing!) and MiL lives in the centre of Cambridge.

Kaloki · 01/04/2010 11:57

mumsnerves Congratulations! That's fantastic news!

OP posts:
WhiteRoses · 01/04/2010 11:59

Calligraphy - sorry to hear about the hyperthyroidism. I have hypothyoidism myself. Does hyperthyroidism affect fertility/pregnancy? Cause I heard loads of horror stories about hypothyroidism, but just wanted to try and counteract some of the ones you might have heard by saying that I conceived in my third month, and have had a very healthy pregnancy so far (aside from sickness but that doesn't affect the baby so I'm fine with that!). The doctor put my sucess down to the fact that I'm not overweight, don't smoke and don't drink. So it's nice to know that there are things you can do to lower your risk. My risk, due to these factors and the fact that I'm under 25, isn't much higher than the average woman's. So don't listen to any stories, just keep doing your best.

Mumnerves - HUGE congratulations!!! Didn't I say you were due some good news! WONDERFUL!!!

As I said on the graduates thread, here's hoping to another run of BFPs just like we had in January!

SpanishLady - if you do leave this thread, I hope we'll see you over on the graduates thread, with the rest of us first-timers who used to be on here. And that goes for everyone...

We have a list on that thread of "Future Graduates" as well as current ones, and if you're not on it, please feel free to add yourself or post and ask to be added. If we've missed you, it's purely because we can't keep up with you all, but not because we're some exclusive little club! It's really nice seeing you lot posting over there - hopefully you feel the same about us posting over here, cause we all seem to do it anyway! Lol!

WhiteRoses · 01/04/2010 12:02

Typos... Probably more than I've noticed but should have said "sucCess". Also that I'm hoping "FOR another run of BFPs". Baby brain!

SpanishLady · 01/04/2010 12:31

Aries - I have you have a fabulous birthday and get to relax and have a laugh.

I have just met a friend and her 4 month old twins and had a lovely cuddle - instead of making me feel, I dont know, sad/impatient/sorry for myself, I felt very positive and really enjoyed listening to her experiences - went off after and bought a temp chart thingy from Boots in preparation for the next cycle - thinking positively that next time I am back here if I get BFN at least I will already be on CD 5 of cycle 3 and they do say 3rd time lucky!!

x

zippys · 01/04/2010 12:54

this is another sneeky post but just had to say

WOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Mumnerves so so so pleased for you.

Have to run so will come back over the weekend for a full update

Bellaby · 01/04/2010 12:58

cavemum - in true male style we are nearly there and DH seems to be clueless about where exactly the wedding is. Think we are staying in a hotel in the centre and reception is at one of the colleges

Got BFN yesterday and am gutted - waiting for AF before I truely believe it, although I see that many others are probably in similar situation?!
