Hello, hello!!

I haven't fallen off the planet!! Just been busy with my broken man and back working on day shift - forgot how tiring it was!!

Have read back through the thread but to be honest there are so many pages I honestly can't keep up with what's been happening other than to say CONGRATULATIONS to aly!

Still nothing to report here, CD42 now and still no AF and last HPT was done on Sunday and still BFN Don't know what to think now so just waiting for something to happen!

Thanks to you all for your messages of support for DP! He's on the mend and thankfully only has a cast on one arm! Back for more x-rays in a couple of weeks to see if the break is a break or not! Confusing yes! Asked the Dr at fracture clinic whether he has dodgy bones but apparently not just very unlucky!!

Morning ladies, i'm going to type until DP gets out the shower...

calligrahpy I'm sure everything will be ok but i know the mind gets creative at times like this. I hope you can forget about it and when you go to the docs its something small.

mumsnerves my fingers are crossed for you, high temp yesterday sounds good. I hope it stays high this morning.

zippys there are many companies who take advantage of crazy baby ladies. £500!! Madness.

Aries Good news on not sore boobs. Even if AF is coming (which it isn't) at least you can poke them until then.

Kaloki Sorry about AF. Hope you indulge over the bank holiday weekend.

evil glad your docs appointment went well. Have you resorted to parsley tea yet or the other old wives tales which supposedly bring AF on?

mrswajs i hope a BPF is sneaking up on you. Good to hear from you.

Finally im starting the 2ww well, no sympton spotting at all!! Although for any POAS addicts i've noticed that Superdrug's own brand tests are BOGOF on the 2 pack. Thats a fiver for four tests.

Anyway GTG...! Have a great Wednesday.. 2 days til the weekend.

kkas · 31/03/2010 09:00

calligraphy hope you're feeling better soon and try not to worry too much before your appointment. let us know what happens though! we're here for you

sevans so nice to see you popping in. with aly now having a bfp, it's only you and me left of the original frolickers that were around when i joined!!! i'll probs still be here in summer too, so see ya then!

mrswajs glad to hear your DH is on the mend. what a relief re his bones

cavemum sounds like all systems are go at the moment! have fun

hi zippys hope you're feeling alright today, despite the freezing weather.

aries hope you have a nice bday regardless of what happens!

anyone heard from claire? hope you're alright if you're lurking.

nothing to report here. must have ov'd, as temps have risen, but FF only has dotted line as i had a few days of EWCM after the temp rise. anyone else had this? it would make sense if that's just how my body is as i always thought ov was the last day of EWCM but that gave me shorter LPs. who knows, eh? not holding my breath for this month anyway.

hope everyone else is well

haloflo · 31/03/2010 12:26

I just read what I wrote this morning and noticed I was babbling and not making much sense. Sorry to all especially ariesgirl as my post to you was a bit crazy.

Ariesgirl · 31/03/2010 12:58

No worries (damn someone found out about my boob poking thing...)

SpanishLady · 31/03/2010 13:00

Ah! Just found this thread (: Hope I can join

SpanishLady TTC#1 Cycle 2 UCL27 CD26

As you can see from my stats my AF is due on Friday (2nd April) - I have had period pains since Sunday night - some days being more uncomfortable then others and also I'd say the last 2-3 days (TMI alert) have been 'leaking' ewcm which is very watery - of course I keep thinking my period has started but not yet...

After last month when every niggle, smell etc was 'a symptom' - I have decided not to bother symptom spotting anymore.

Have also decided not to POAS anymore before I have a late period - last time was on Sunday as had a 6 day before period due FR tester - that was BFN.

Am only on cycle 2 but have managed to convince myself I have a problem (mostly based on the fact I am 35 years old - no period problems that I have ever been aware of but never 'tested' my fertility either) -

I only got married last October (after 1.5 year courtship - ooh very old fashion word there!) and never had any opportunity to have a child before I met my husband but of course in my mind - I've been remiss somehow and I 'deserve' not to get pg.

Have no idea how emotional this would be for me or how hard I would blame myself.

If not pg this month I am going to start monitoring my temp - this last cycle we just used OPK - I had a positive on day 11 and we swi all over that period - but now think (ironically) that we BD'd too much! So next cycle only every other day. My husband is younger then me - 32 *bless

we swi on day 7 through to day 15 - too much right?

My husband is very supportive and patient and thinks Im crackers and stressing myself out.

Doesnt help that I'm surrounded by pregnant friends and new mums.

so that is my story and next cycle I'm going to stop the fretting as think it really isnt helping!

Ariesgirl · 31/03/2010 13:20

Spanish Lady, you are me! Cycle 2 of properly trying as opposed to just not not trying, went mental last month and ended up looking foolish, AF due on 1st/2nd, 35 years old (or will be soon - yikes, tomorrow!). I too have a husband who thinks the whole thing utterly bizarre and wants any baby of his (not that he's especially bothered about having one) to be made in a fit of romance and passion, and am surrounded by babies, bumps and pregnant relatives. I am now shunning POAS too.

Are your cycles usually regular?
I think that SWI every second day is better than every day as too much can decrease the potency of the sperm. Or something.

Anyway, good luck.

SpanishLady · 31/03/2010 13:38

Hi Ariesgirl - wouldnt it be lovely to get a BFP on your birthday (sorry am sure that delicious thought has already occured to you or been voiced)

my periods are indeed regular - once a month like clockwork - sometimes have a shorter cycle eg December to January was 23 days - but all others (since I've been recording/tracking them) have been 27.

I think you are right that every day is not good so will see what next cycle brings!

god luck to you too

claireinthecommunity · 31/03/2010 13:39

Hello kkas! I am lurking I'm ok, lots going on and not feeling up to posting at the moment, but I am reading through the thread regularly (thanks for thinking of me ).

Oh, and waves to everyone else .

CaveMum · 31/03/2010 13:45

Afternoon ladies - hope that term doesn't offend anyone - saw someone getting told off on another thread for using that term!

spanishlady welcome! We're all very friendly here, as long as you bring chocolate you will always be welcome!

mrswajs glad to hear your dh is on the mend. My brother fractured his wrist in January when falling over in all the snow and ice - took the hospital 5 weeks to realise it was fractured and not just sprained, even though they x-rayed him 3 times!

Thanks to all for the supportive messages. Still a little way to go yet as I'm still on the Pill, but we'll have a chat over the wknd to sort things out. I'm thinking I'll come off the Pill at the end of May - use up the Pills I have left in the house - have a few months of cycle monitoring (I've no idea what my real cycle is like as I went on the Pill at 15 and am nearly 29 now!) and then get down and dirty!

That way, even if I fall straight away (highly unlikely) we'll be looking at a Summer 2011 baby which gives us plenty of time to sell our place and move.

Getting very excited now! Going to head off and find out who's selling the Pregnacare Conception vitamins at the lowest rate!

Dinkytinky · 31/03/2010 14:48

Afternoonladies! cavemum why did another lady get told off??? In no world can I find that offensive,I say it all the time! Very odd as indeed it is what we all are surely? How exciting going to get your vitamins etc woop! I think I'll have a 2011 baby too, hope so anyway..

Welcome welcome spanishlady! eeryones great here, I'm on cycle two too and only been a frolickers for a month and everyone is so lively and supportive, very happy thread family!

Hi mrswajs* was wondering where you had gone! Glad your dp is on the mend too, hope wicked goblin has chilled out too?

ariesLol at passionate baby making! My dp rather surrupticiously informed me his sperm where the michael phelps of sperm world and that my womb was probably a hostile terrain! (don't worry, that's just his sense of humour!
Ooh I read a while ago too that a variety of morning sex one day, evening the next was good around ov-that way you have better quality sperm and don't miss your window!

Off viewing houses today very exciting!
Hope you all have a great day! Xxxx

Re-posting todays list as I seem to have gained a day! Am only on CD43!

MrsWajs · 31/03/2010 16:04

Afternoon ladies!! Also not sure why this would be offensive!?? Although I do class myself as more of a 'girl'!!

Hello to spanishlady and welcome, it's lovely in here!

kkas Not so sure the elusive BFP is sneaking up on me as have been cramping today and have calculated (approximately)that the last dose of ewcm was almost 2 weeks ago so am assuming that ov was maybe delayed and that AF is more likely to be sneaking up on me tomorrow!!

haloflo I too am relieved re: DP's bones, although I am less relieved about his tendency for falling over so he is now on house arrest when I'm not in, at least, a 10 metre radius of him!

aries Happy birthday for tomorrow! I'm sure it won't hurt

cavemum Excited for you that you have a plan now - roll on the summer 2011 babies - pretty sure I'll still be hanging about here by then judging by the rate I'm going at the mo!! Was your cousins fracture perhaps a scaphoid as this one is renowned for not showing on x-rays, this is what they suspect DP has which is why we have to keep going back and forward for x-rays!! Joy since the nearest A&E dept is over half an hour away!! Actually suppose that's not too far if you live in the likes of London etc, but for us in the sticks it's a trek!!

dinky Happy house hunting! I love buying houses, well maybe not so much the spending money part but just the overall excitement of getting somewhere new!! I'm becoming quite well known for it amongst my friends - have moved 4 times in about 5 years! I can't help it I just seem to get itchy feet after a year or so!! And once DC#1 materialises I have no doubt I'll be on the house hunt again!!
No further news as yet on the goblin/troll, our response has been sent so we are just waiting for our next reply! Got terms of contract etc etc through the post from solicitor and am apalled by the fact that our little soiree into solicitor hell is costing us £165 an hour plus expense of letters, phone calls etc!!!!

Apart from that all is quietish on MrsWajs turf, like I said earlier started with cramping today, my face looks like an ugly dot-to-dot and my skin is flaking off almost as though I had leporosy!! Ironically someone at work today asked me if I was pg as she had similar skin ailments when she was preggers!! Errr... what happened to the glowing part??

WhiteRoses · 31/03/2010 16:14

Oops... I typed the post below two days ago, just logged onto my computer now and relised I never sent it! It's probably very out of date now but I don't want to delete it! Here goes...

Hi everyone,

Just a quick(ish) post, mainly to say a HUGE congratulations to Aly! I've not been over to the Graduates thread yet tonight but I really hope you have! I really am SO delighted for you though - you were on here since the start with me and were always such a great source of support. You SOOO deserve this now! Yay!

Calyx - I'm glad you're feeling better. And thank you for your lovely message. x

Zippy - I hope you manage to get that spa break booked. Sounds like exactly what you need. I haven't been sick for nearly as long as you have, and I know the reason why I am. Don't know how I'd cope in your shoes. [hug]

Claire - how awful about your friends.

Bunny - I'm glad your friend was wise enough to tell her OH where to go when he came crawling back!

Aries - that story about holding the baby was so nice to read. So reassuring, somehow, cause when I think about the fact that I'm going to be responsible for a real, live, little human being like that in less than six months' time, I really start to panic!

Mumnerves - really sorry to hear about DH's auntie, and that you've had to cancel your trip away. Just think positive though - you really are due some good luck round about now! x

Sorry again to all those that I've missed out - I really struggle to keep up - you talk so much! Lol! It doesn't mean I don't think of you all though! x

luckyseven · 31/03/2010 18:23

Hello, not much news from wintery Northern Ireland, i swear my face froze coming back from getting my Boots meal deal at lunchtime! Just wanted to check in as i have been reading but not responding properly and so much has been happening so quickly!

Hello biscuitbreaker chico193 and spanishlady wishes you tonnes of luck in getting pg and looking forward to hearing more from you both, i echo what everyone else says this is a cosy, safe place to hang out on mumsnet.

on behalf of claire and calligraphy and kaloki cavemum
Great news about delaying Afghanistan and am so pleased the baby plans are on!
Just wondering are you using up your pills and hoping you are extra fertile first month off in May? My own GP said it can happen that the cycle after the pill you can be super fertile but when i mentioned this to my friend who is a also a GP she said it was nonsense. I wish I had come off my pill a couple of months before I started trying but didn?t want to have af or risk being pg for Great North Run.

aly323 i loved your post about telling your other half ? i did well up a bit ? has it sunk in yet?

dinkytinky thanks for the link to the great sperm race ? i noted down lots of fascinating facts in part 1 to share with dh, it is quite a strange video, very channel 4 and interseting stats on the lapdancers - Hope you are getting lots of ?genetic payouts?! happy house hunting ? very exciting times.

Ariesgirl sending you birthday wishes and hope you get the only wish frolickers now make!

haloflo we are AF day buddies again if i have my usual 25day cycle, was 27 last month and they were the longest 2 days ever! Not testing just going to wait for AF instead as it i find it harder to cope faced with a single solitary sodding line. What is your plan of attack? Imagine if we do get pg and go over we could be faced with xmas day babies! And happy birthday for the weekend ? i turn 30 on mayday (yikes!) and love that i always get a long weekend to celebrate!

evilgiraffe loving your laid back attitude after the doctors the other day, it is reassuring to get their perspective on it, saying that i hope AF hurrys up for you.

mumsnerves sorry you had to change your holiday plans and your dh?s auntie, times like this are never easy but being with family makes it easier. I?m with you on the not testing ? just too cruel when the single line flashes up and last month nearly bankrupted me.

calligraphy i too have a short cycle usually 25 days, sometimes wonder if it is a factor in not succeeding so far but the upside is you get more chances every year. Do you know when abouts you ovukate and how long your luteal phase is? Any news on the blood tests?

mrswaj bad luck with the broken wrists, ttc is frustrating enough without added calamities. I hope that it will soon be countered by a BFP!

kkas not sure about the ewcm post temp rise, i get ov pains after temp rise and in previous months ff and my cbfm didn?t add up so i am always a bit sceptical when all the symptoms and tests don?t seem to add up to make the perfect graph!

Sorry i have missed anyone ? i have been working my way through 4 pages trying to catch up!

Sitting out the two week wait and having a dilemma about what to do about Saturday night and a wedding on Easter Tuesday. I had lunch with my best friend today and she is ttc#2 after a mmc at 9 weeks back in January, ironically she is due AF next Thursday ? the same day as me. There are 10 of us going out for dinner on Saturday night and she said she was driving cause they were trying again so now i feel bad that whilst I don?t plan to have a session i do plan to have a couple of socials (i used to abstain on the tww but this is month 8 and i feel like my entire life is on hold). It would not go unnoticed if I was to be t total - truthfully am i a bad person to have a couple of glasses of wine? How do you treat the tww?

CaveMum · 31/03/2010 19:11

luckyseven that was some good catching up!

As far as the alcohol goes it is one if those things that is totally up to you. Being honest, I really doubt that the odd glass of wine is going to do any harm. I read somewhere that you can drink (in theory) up until a placenta has formed because the embryo is self contained until that point and not absorbing anything from you.
If you don't want to drink use the excuse I plan on using "I'm on antibiotics!" make up some minor condition like a throat infection and tell them the doctor said you can't drink on the tablets coz you'll get a reaction.

I don't plan on TTC as soon as I come off the Pill simply because I'll have no idea of dates or anything. Plus I haven't started taking folic acid yet and want to make sure that I've been on for the regulation 3 months before we conceive.

Hermya321 · 31/03/2010 19:57

Hello everyone,

I've had a brief read through the thread and caught up with most peoples goings on.

Ariesgirl Happy Birthday!!!!

Luckseven I don't know if the pill thing holds true or not, but it seems to have worked with me. As soon as I was off the thing, my body took the oppurtunity it was presented with. I do realise I'm incredibly lucky though and know that I was incredibly blessed in this way.

Cavemum I must admit I have had a small glass of wine about a week ago. It's getting a bit bad because I'm craving coronas and trying to resist that particular one.

Dinkytink I saw the link you popped on, I thought people would enjoy (well it made me laugh) this The sperm game. I can't do it for toffee, maybe someone else can improve upon my dying within the first thirty seconds of game play.

Claire I'm sorry about your friends.

Mumnerves Sorry about your Auntie, I hope she gets better soon.

Felicity I hope your week full of visitors is going well.

Wannamum Welcome to the thread, this is a very lucky place to be!!!

Giraffe I'm glad the Doctors visit went well, it's nice when they listen to you. I had a brilliant Doc before I moved and my Docs now are about as useful as a wet haddock is at putting out a house fire.

Zippys That is a heck of a lot of money to spend on what essentially is a posh thermometre. Save the money for when you fall pregnant with your LO and you can spend it on a whizzy pram that makes you tea and have speakers in for your MP3 player.

Kaloki That woman sounds like a right one! I wouldn't listen to her, it sounds as if she's got her thong on the wrong way.

I hope you're all well!!!

Thanks everyone for the supportive messages. BBT actually went up this morning but as am thinking maybe ff got my ov date wrong, so going to wait till tomorrow morning and if my BBT is still high then will poas

MrsWajs so pleased to see you back and glad to hear about DH being on the mend

Aries A very happy Birthday to you! Still keeping my fingers crossed for you

Hi and welcome spanishlady you've certainly come to the right thread, we're all extremely a little obssessed here about TTC. Share your emotional times with us as we do with each other, it'll just take some pressure off you. You're right everyone else just seems to get pregnant around you when TTC and straight away
I echo what aries said, TTC everyother day is certainly the way to go, I found since I started doing that this cycle that it also took the pressure off us around ov time

Cavemum Hopefully when you move the housing market will have picked up again I bought my pregnacare his & hers conception from boots at 3 for 2 (assuming you're in the UK)
I think the person calling me a lady is more likely to be offended than me as believe me, no one who know me in RL would EVER call me a lady

Dinky I love looking at new houses and picturing our stuff in it. Happy House hunting

luckyseven I had a glass of wine 2 weekends ago, just 2 days after ovulation. It really relaxed me and I really did enjoy it. Just think that for years people have been drinking and they used to recommend guiness to pregnant women for iron levels. I don't think the odd glass will matter.

cavemum I'm liking your excuse!! I usually said I've just had a bout of sickness and diarrhoea and my stomach is really tender so don't feel like drinking

Have a good evening everyone!

Hermya That game is bloody hard, and DP says it's freaking him out! lol

Also, her thong on the wrong way, she probably thinks thongs are worn only for men's pleasure, she probably wears a strip of sandpaper instead

calligraphy That sounds horrible, sending virtual hugs your way

Evening all

calligraphy - you poor thing, its horrible having to troop back and forwards to the hospital. My dad is very unwell and we're in the hospital for tests and stuff all the time, its not fun. Hopefully you feel a bit better now you know what it is and the various pills make you feel better. The diaphragm spasms sound horrid, you have my sympathy.

Happy Birthday aries! (is it still today?). Hope you get your BFP very soon this year

lucky I had a glass of wine last week during the 2ww. I ummed and ahhed but then figured I'm generally careful, and a couple of my friends had been very drunk when not knowing they were pregnant and doctors were massively relaxed about it and their babies are completely gorgeous and fine. So, my philosophy is not to get plastered but not to feel too guilty about the odd glass.

spanishlady - welcome! We are also on cycle two, I am obsessed that I am the Infertile Friend that everyone has stories about. Good luck.

kaloki v sorry about AF xx

Not much from me. Boobs are getting bigger and more tender but thats an AF sign for me, and starting to get cramps too - blugh. Completely caved and did a FR test this morning as supposed to be going out for work drinks tonight and wanted to know if I could drink without too much guilt. BFN was very quick and very strong, its horrible seeing it even if you're not too hopeful, isn't it?! Turns out I had to work late and missed work drinks so that was a wasted test!

Up early and have to cram two days' worth of work into one tomorrow - but then its Easter, hopefully AF will come and put an end to this cycle, I can eat lots of caramel eggs, do lots of sleeping and hope for next month.

cherrycobbler · 31/03/2010 23:33

ps mumsnerves also wanted to say very sorry to hear about your auntie and your cancelled hols hopefully you can look forward to something nice soon.

Dinkytinky · 01/04/2010 00:17

Calligraphy aw Hun that's really crap, I had overactive thyroid for about 3 years until it eventually balanced so understand how rubbish it can make you feel-you feel like you've run a marathon everyday don't you? As well with your diaphragm spasms I had ulcer from stess too so we are sicky buddies lol! It's very difficult and I know what you mean about jangling with medicine. Anytime you fancy a moan I'm here to offer a sicky buddy ear! X
happy birthday Aries hope you have a lovely day x

lucky I don't really drink ( not a big teetotaler weirdo, just a loong family history of alcy's so I'm extra careful as don't want to get sucked in, my family don't seem to know when to stop lol.. Sorry that was a bit tmi!) but I just keep on as normal, but have cooler baths!

cherry aw crap about work, hope you eat your wait in caramel eggs to make up for it!

kaloki hope you're having lots of wine and Easter eggs to make up for AF

mumsnerves sorry to hear about your auntie, fingers crossed for her. I hope she feels much better soon x

Dinkytinky · 01/04/2010 00:23

I meant to ask as well, does anyone feel scared about the prospect of actually having a baby? I get dead excited about the idea of being pregnant but then I get a bit paniced when I think about actually having my own child?! Like I'll get in a panic aboutlife insurance/bullying/obesity...!!!! Please tell me if I am just being a loony!

aly323 · 01/04/2010 03:13

Dinky, when I'm not totally panicking at the prospect of a MC, I'm panicking at the prospect of actually having a baby. Before I got the BFP, I just panicked about getting pregnant instead of the mc.

Awww WhiteRoses, you're so sweet. Thank you. Thanks also to everyone else for the congratulations. It's really touching. Kkas and Sevans, you both have seats saved on the grads board!

Mrs Wajs glad to hear your DH is just accident prone!

Lucky, DH seems to be believing me more. He has a lot of questions all of the sudden. I had some spotting this morning and he was very sweet. He's starting to do research on his own, which I find very reassuring.

Sorry I'm getting cut off right now. I didn't do well on a sugar test today, so we're off to the grocery to stock up on proteins. Hopefully I'll do better when I retake it on Saturday.
