evilgiraffe hopefully something will get sorted out, will be thinking of you

dinkytinky on the other thread a lap dancer has told them she is doing a degree in Women's Studies and got the the reaction of "pfft - doubt it". Lovely huh? But I'm resisting the urge to join in, venting here because they aren't likely to read it. Venting to them would make no difference, I like burlesque and enjoy making myself look pretty for my DP, therefore I'm a victim of his bullying (hahahah!) and my views aren't valid

OP posts:
Dinkytinky · 29/03/2010 15:36

kalokiwow! They sounds like a bunch of charmers! Lol @ you being bullied by poor dp! - shock horror, I too also like getting prettied up for do, sometimes I even buy sexy undies, make him dinner and grab him some snacks and booze when I know the rugbys on!...although I should point out that I also must be a terrible bully because sometimes I sit about. In trackies eating fried chicken and Reading magazines while he runs me a bath!x

Dinkytinky · 29/03/2010 16:41

Might I remind you kaloki I didn't shave my legs for 5 days a few weeks ago as a post modern feminist stance against my oppressor.... Or maybe I was just on AF and felt as sexy as a sack of potatos :D

zippys · 29/03/2010 16:42

Hello,

Just a quick post from me -

WOOOO HOOOO Aly I am so so pleased for you, especially as you sounded so down about treatments etc on your last post, and do stick around - we would miss you.

Claire sorry about AF and all you are going through with your friends. It is hard being in the middle isnt it. You know where we are if you need to rant.

Aries glad you past the test - although it is amazing how quickly you get used to being around babies. I have been around babies all my life and a very maternal person (my friends even ring me for advice) but I am sure I will still have that panic moment when I know a LO is in my sole charge!

Cavemum I am glad you have a had a chat with DH. I think your mortgage could be affected by being on maternity leave etc, will be looking at changing mortgages soon I have to take it into account as well. But I think it does depend on the mortgage company. I know there was a thread on here about it a while ago.

Still no AF for me but think ov'd yesterday (maybe ) I have a doctors appointment this week so planning on asking him then but think I have just missed a period.

As I approach the year mark I know I should consider getting tests etc and seeing everyone who gets their BFP when they have tests should make me feel better but if anything it makes me feel like I will be the one that doesnt get the BFP and actually will have to go down the route of treatment - but i suppose alot us feel like that

I better stop talking about me and get back to work, sorry for anyone I have missed.

I've popped you calligraphy and claire at the start - I hope thats ok.

evil you must have missed a day to be on CD60 but i've updated you now.

chico193 - hello! I've not met you. I've popped in the list too . Let us know how you get on.

claire Really sorry for AF & for the problems your friends are happening. It must be hard to be caught in the middle. Unfortunatly I have no real advice but hope that in time things will become easier for them & you.

felicity Have a good week with all your visitors, I hope you enjoy having them to stay. Hopefully when you come back on friday it will be for more BPFs!

calyx Your determination for posting with your iphone has my admiration. How is your pc? Anywhere near fixed? I hope the 2ww isn't dragging you down. My boobs were really sore during the last couple of days of my last 2ww. (Although clearly its a sympton for you, not a sign of AF) It actually hurt to shower unless I held them. My DP got very excited when he saw how swollen they were, not so excited when I told him he could look but don't touch. Our bodies are just mean to us sometimes.

cavemum I'm glad you and DH are going to have a talk this weekend and whether or not you decide its time to TTC I hope it helps. I'm curious about you moving house and why you feel you have to move? Have you always planned to move after a set period of time? Reason I ask as we live in a 2 bedroom flat and my new worry (along with every worry you listed in your earlier post !) is that I won't be able to manage the two flights of stairs with a pram/pushchair. We have no money to move though and love our flat so we are staying put for now.

Ariesgirl your friends "marking" you scares me but am glad you passed! I've told hardly anyone im TTC due to fear of them saying "what you?!! a mother?! hahaha!"

dinky Nothing like a good morning in bed to get you in a good mood for the day! I'm glad you have a good feeling for the week.

kaloki fingers crossed for you & good luck for weekend testing! I hope you resist rising to the bait if its just going to make you mad!

cherry good luck for weekend testing too!

evilgiraffe good luck at docs tomorrow. Be firm!

mumsnerves any idea when you might test? do you wait for a late AF or are you a POAS addict? I hope you are looking forward to your holiday. I think its good to have something fun planned just after AF is due as then it gives you something to look forward to. This month I have a uni reunion night out, if AF comes then a few drinks will definatly be had.

aly congratulations again! I hope its sinking in today for you and DH. I'm especially pleased for you when you had all those worries about clomid, soy isoflavones etc.

calligraphy sorry about AF. I hope this cycle goes well for you.

Bellaby I hope the SWI is going well. Have you hit peak on your monitor yet? You asked about ov so heres my thoughts: I clearly am no expert but for the last couple of cycles I get AF type cramps for about 5 days and EWCM on the last couple of days of these achey days. I got a bit of nausea too last cycle but not this time.

zippys I hope you are ok & work isn't keeping you too busy. I hope you are ov'ing and this strange cycle is working out ok. Edit: have just seen you have posted just as im typing mine out. I really hope its your turn soon. Let us know how you get on at the doctors.

lucky hope SWI is going well. I think we are due AF around the same time and we both show everyone that even number cycles can hold their own.

So during my day off I have mostly been reading TCOYF as it finally arrived! I might have to get myself a thermometer as the charts all look very exciting. Especially the successful pregnancy charts. I have to say that the pictures of CM were quite surprisingly graphic but have helped me understand it all more than just snippets of information from the internet.

Unfortunatly we didn't DTD this morning as planned but if i'm honest I wasn't in the mood . I didn't want to just go through the motions and am just hoping that ov has been & gone anyway. Back at work tomorrow but only for 3 days til the best bank holiday weekend of the year (as there are 2 bank holidays and its my birthday!!)

Hope everyone else is having a good Monday.

CaveMum · 29/03/2010 17:48

haloflo our move is not essential, but we kind of had it mind that we'd move before starting a family. We're in a 2 bed terraced Victorian house atm and have been here for 4 years. We've accumulated so much stuff that our loft is rammed full of crap things. We had some work done on the house last year - new bathroom, kitchen and other odds and sods so feel it is in the best possible condition to try to sell. Plus I'm worried that if house prices start to fall again we could lose the money we've put in.

Also if after having a baby I decide not to go back to work fulltime (my plan at the mo) my wage, or lack off, will affect the mortgage we can get.

Like I said, too many thoughts!

Dinkytinky · 29/03/2010 18:12

cavemum I see what you mean about space and condition, as well as maternity pay/mortgage payments, me and dp are renting at the mo- buying Market where we are moves very quickly but not many properties come up too so you have to be best mates with all the agents lol! Tbh, I very strongly doubt house prices will dip again, if anything if you sell now you may get a lower price for the place you've got now and all that good work you've done might not reflect in it's asking price, I think about 16-18 months will be best both sides. Sorry if that's given you more thoughts! Xxx

maamalady · 29/03/2010 18:40

Sorry haloflo, my post wasn't clear - I am CD59 today, I meant that when I go to the doctor tomorrow I will be on CD60! Reading it back I can see that I really did not make that at all clear

I've had to cancel our trip to the lake district
DH's auntie is very ill and we're going to see her instead. I think she's fab so don't really mind as don't know whether I'd see her again after this, but I was SO looking forward to my holiday. Going to go find some chocolate now

haloflo I won't be testing till AF is late, it's too much pressure if I get a BFN as it doesn't really prove anything before AF is due. It also puts a lot of pressure on me and I get upset if it's a BFN so I've told myself to just wait for AF from now on. Thanks for asking

Biscuitbreaker · 29/03/2010 19:31

Can I come and mope? AF due today, have got bad period pain, so not long now. This means am out of the running for a 2010 baby, which has hit me pretty hard. Tested yesterday with clear blue and a BFN came up insultingly fast. Ugh.

Ariesgirl · 29/03/2010 20:03

Sorry to hear that Biscuit I hate the way that when you're extra-hoping it won't appear, it does appear with even more pain than normal, as though it is an evil taunting bitch from hell. I'm liking the phrase "insultingly fast" - it's as though the little plastic suckers know.

Bad luck on the cancelled holiday mumnerves. Poor old auntie - is this likely to be her "last illness" or is she just very poorly? And your house sounds fine to me - we're in a tiny, rented house which I'd love to move from, but the fact that we have a pet really limits our moving options. Makes me really cross actually - it's not like one small, antisocial tabby is a rampant Doberman. If I were you, I'd stay where you are and consolidate.

Well I've spent the day doing a financial forecast to try and persuade the bank to lend us lots of money. It's not like they're beholden to us poor tax payers or anything, it's not like we've bailed them out to keep them afloat, they'll be delighted to help us expand the business, surely? Grrrrrr . Have been that busy, I've not even thought about possible approaching red witch, which amusingly is due on my birthday on Thursday or maybe Friday, the day I officially hit my mid thirties and the day I start sliding exponentially down the slippery slope of declining fertility apparently.

Calligraphy, I don't think a cycle of 26 days is anything specific to worry about. It's when it's 24 days or less, or if your actual luteal phase is less than 10/11 days that it might be an issue. Though I'm not an expert, it must be said.

Sorry, waffle waffle...

Biscuitbreaker · 29/03/2010 20:09

Exactly, it was like 'ha ha, of course you're not bloody pregnant, fool!'

I said it to my DH and he laughed at me... Men have it so easy. Also, why is everyone around me so keen to show me their babies!!! I am trying so hard to be happy for them - and I am - but it makes me really teary.

mumnerves · 29/03/2010 20:52

biscuitbreaker TTC is so hard, and doesn't every other person seem to be pregnant??!! You'll get there eventually, all of us will! ((hands out some chocolate and wine))

I'm afraid with DH's auntie it's a matter of when rather than if

Dinkytinky · 29/03/2010 20:55

biscuitbreaker hi! Don't think I've met you before,I'm only a month in but live this thread! Sorry to hear about your AF, know what you and Aries mean about the bloody know it all tests lol! It's like ' BFN- of course! And you spent the equivalentof wine an choccies on me you silly mare mwahaha' as you can tell I am still a little bitter lol!

haloflo · 29/03/2010 20:59

Sorry evilgiraffe I see what you meant now! Maybe whoever does them tomorrow would kindly correct you? I might do them if I get time in the morning but in my half asleep state I'm very likely to make a mistake.

cavemum Your house sounds like it would be easy to sell, 2 bed, new kitchen, bathroom so hopefully would do well whenever you decide to move on. My mum moved with us when I was 2 and my sister 6 weeks old so I think moving is possible even with a new baby and in fact is an good excuse to make DH do all the heavy lifting!

calligraphy I echo what ariesgirl said - I think short cycles are ok provided your luteal phase is longer than 10 days. If you have an early ov then you should be ok. Also according to TCOYF 24-36 day cycles are normal. (I have been studying hard )

mumsnerves Really sorry about cancelling your holiday. I hope DH's aunt is ok. Hopefully in amongst all this a BFP is waiting for you.

ariesgirl Have you anything nice planned for your birthday or you going to be too busy? When you talk about TTC and banks in the same sentence it reminds of the friends episode when Monica wants a baby and they ask her if she is going to the regular bank or the sperm bank. I hope thats not just me being a bit deranged.

Hello biscuitbreaker Sorry about the BFN. The disappointment when coupled with AF pains is just harsh.

Kaloki, I'm sorry af showed up. I really thought she would stay away after all your cramping. I went back on my word and started on the antenatal thread. They're keeping your seat warm. I'm sure you'll be over soon!

zippys · 30/03/2010 08:26

Morning everyone,

Haloflo I told you once TCOYF arrived you wouldn't be able to put it down! My boobs are particularly sore this cycle (not that I am symptom spotting yet )I hope you have a lovely birthday.

calligraphy82 lol at TTC tourettes - I think we all suffer from that now and again. Thanks for your kind words. I dont actually know how I would cope without this thread sometimes And no I dont think that your cycle is too short, as others have said I think LP is more important.

Mumnerves sorry you had to cancel trip, so sorry to hear about DH Auntie at least she has family around her. Are you planning on rebooking for another weekend? I know what you mean about BFN's, you see the BFN and just think hoe stupid was I actually thinking I could be!!!!

Biscuitbreaker hello and welcome I dont think I have said hi to you before. Keeping my fingers crossed for you and hope AF hasnt arrived yet.

Aries hope you get your business loan. I do a lot of work with business plans and forecasts for banks and there does seem to be a little bit of movement at the moment towards lending so keeping my fingers crossed for you. I agree the banks need to appreciate how much of a differnce lending can make to business (anyway will get off soapbox!). Hope you have a lovely birthday and manage to relax (you never know you could have the best birthday present ever)

Evilgiraffe hope you get on ok at the docs today and they dont just brush you off. Let us know how you get on.

Kaloki sorry to hear witch has arrived, but you do realise we are nearly half way through this thread now and you HAVE to get BFP by the end of it Is it too early for choccies? (hands out chocolate)

Thanks for everyone who asked about work, hopefully after this week (end of tax year) then things should go back to normal a little bit. I do sometimes worry how I could do my job part time but I am sure I will manage if I have a LO to concentrate on.

Well still no AF, but having a really bad week re sickness so not that surprised.

We haven't heard from Mrs Waj for a few days - or have I just missed her post?, I hope she is ok.

Right back to work for me, dont know about anyone else but I am on count down till easter break - only 3 more days to go!!

wannamummy · 30/03/2010 08:43

Thank you everyone for your welcome messages over the weekend! I'm glad it's not just me that's symptom spotting etc. There are so many of you who are writing what I am thinking, I feel a little bit better!
Have a good day everyone x
