Congratulations aly323 wonderful news and making love March worked!!!

ariesgirl and bellaby sorry for messing with the list - i just went through it to highlight everyone who has contributed to this thread as it seems that some people have gone missing from the list - i did a quick search and couldn't find them active anywhere else - i had a bit of time on my hands yesterday as dh was working again - he gets no thanks or pay for overtime so the list was a welcome distraction.

Oh and because of Easter and mrs waj 's suggestion April will be ?at it like rabbits april?

Kaloki · 28/03/2010 18:57

aly I'm testing after the bank holiday weekend, that is if AF hasn't reared her ugly head

aly323 · 28/03/2010 19:02

I have high hopes for you this month Kaloki. And, you're due since you started the thread! I hope we can go over together!

Kaloki · 28/03/2010 19:12

That would be good Aly be nice to have someone who conceived around the same time as me.

Also, I'm hiding in here. Crazy people are scaring me in the rest of MN and I'm trying to avoid getting myself caught in another argument. Especially as it's the same person winding me up again, on the exact same issues.

OP posts:
chico193 · 28/03/2010 19:34

I can't believe I'm still on the list (although MIA). I am back - had stopped TTC as was getting too obsessive about it. Not really been trying but haven't been preventing anything either. Well this month we dtd at exactly the right time and now I am back to symptom spotting! Needing the loo a lot, period like abdominal cramps yesterday, wet CM and a little nausea this morning. Am on CD31 but have long cycles so only 7dpo.

mumnerves · 28/03/2010 19:37

Thank you everyone for the lovely words about DH's 'stage fright' It was so nice to finally be able to tell someone,

Does anyone remember an 80s song called 'All I want to do' by heart? It came on the radio and I was listening to the lyrics and...what a load of bullshit!! If she went out trying to get pregnant by a random guy, she must have had to plan it around her BBT or ov test and she wouldn't have gotten a BFP first time either. So she must have slept around??! I'm thinking STDs etc. also, it's no wonder we all think we'll get pregnant just by removing the condom!

kaloki I can't imagine why anyone would want to argue with you, you've always come across as being so amicable! Some people!!

aly well done to your DH's swimmers, they must have felt the 'urgency' lol!

bellaby hope you manage to catch DH when everyone has buggered off home

I'm 9dpo at the moment and my luteal phase is usually around 12 days. I'm trying my best not to symptom spot and as you're all my fellow crazy baby ladies, the way I see it is if I don't type it out then I'm not symptom spotting??! Ok, I never said I was right in the head!

...so, I'm NOT symptom spotting, I'm NOT symptom spotting, I'm NOT symptom spotting.....

fudgecat · 28/03/2010 19:45

aly that is fantastic news, im very happy for you

are you going to come and join us over on the grads thread?

kkas · 28/03/2010 19:46

aly woohoo!!!!! congrats babe!!!!!

haloflo · 28/03/2010 19:55

Congratulations aly, i'm really pleased for you. xx

Hermya321 · 28/03/2010 20:00

Congratulations Aly!!!! I'm so so pleased for you, when you feel ready we're all over here.

I look forward to hearing more from you!!

I'm also looking forward to seeing the rest of you guys over there, we've got a box of biscuits set aside for you all.

Hermya321 · 28/03/2010 20:12

Cavemum I just read your post and I just wanted to say to you that you're not on your own. I was a walking hormone before I got my BFP (and still am). You're embarking on a very scary journey and it's totally normal to have wibbles. Plus you're not alone in being scared of labour and having a baby of your own. Just remember it's a normal fear and it's ok to worry about those things. Just also remember that lots of people have been in your position and have gone on to have relatively sane kids and have managed to walk out the door with their coats buttoned up the right way (this won't be me btw). You're obviously being very sensible in coming on here and trying to be as prepared as possible. I hope things start to look up for you soon, but in the mean time eat some chocolate and drink some wine. In fact have my share, someone might as well.

Evilgiraffe I hope you get sorted at the Docs.

Kaloki Good luck with testing, I'll be crossing my fingers and toes for you.

cherrycobbler · 28/03/2010 21:51

got to run but have to say WOW aly congrats!! will post more next week.

Ariesgirl · 28/03/2010 21:58

Don't apologise about the list luckyseven. I was just wondering, that's all!

I've been out for the first time in AGES this evening (well, apart from last night!). Saw Alice in Wonderland and then had a meal in a pub. Rock on.

aly323 · 28/03/2010 21:58

Awww, thanks for the congrats ladies! I think I'll probably just hang out here for a little while before I make my way over to the grads thread. I now understand why so many did that before. It just seems so unreal and the threat of mc seems huge. However, I will start lurking around that thread now.

When DH got home, I let him settle in a little, then asked what he had planned for Dec. 6th. He looked at me funny and asked "Dec 6th, that's so far away, why?" I handed him the digi that read "pregnant" and said "because I'm pretty sure that's the day our baby is due." He reacted with a shocked look and said are you f*ing serious? Which is funny because he NEVER uses that word (that's my special word). I said that I was, he hugged me, and has been in a weird sort of foggy state since.

Kaloki, I also can't imagine you getting into it with anyone. However, I only post on this thread since I've seen some very nasty posts on others.

bunnygirl80 · 28/03/2010 22:18

Oh wow aly congratulations It really does look like starting fertility investigations gets people on this thread their BFP.

mumnerves I don't know that song, but it reminds me of watching Miss Conception the other night. For those of you who haven't had the sheer hell pleasure of watching it it's about a woman who discovers that she only has one egg left. Cue her having two weeks till her final ov and going looking for a man to give her his seed! Needless to say she's pg by the end of the movie. The time spent watching that movie is an hour and a half of my life I will never ever get back

cavemum don't worry about a lack of experience with babies. I'm sure we had a vote about 3 or 4 threads ago and not many of us had ever changed a nappy.

claire sorry to hear about your friends. It must be hard trying to remain neutral in that kind of situation. A couple I know split up about 5 months ago and I have to say I took sides. It was a side taking situation though - she was in hospital having a mc when he left her for a woman 10 years younger than them who he had met on a night out.

Ariesgirl · 28/03/2010 22:30

What an utter and total cu... swine. I'm not surprised you took sides. You hear such stories don't you, e.g. about the number of men who leave their wives if they have a mastectomy or something. And so many of them blame the fact that they've strayed on their male hormones, saying that they were designed to spread their seed etc as though this is some kind of valid reason for their utter lack of self control and integrity. Makes me very glad I have my lovely DH, for all his shortcomings.

bunnygirl80 · 28/03/2010 22:41

Apparantly he was having a crisis as he was unsure about having baby #2 after all.

The OW ditched him as she got bored of being with a guy who had a 2 year old to look after and then he tried to go crawling back - he was told in no uncertain terms that he was no longer wanted.

Calyx · 28/03/2010 23:32

I'm in my bed, setting my alarm and just peeked in for a moment... And Aly what brilliant news lots of luck, I am sooo pleased you got a bfp and I'm glad to hear that Internet cheapy sticks actually worked!! I have some and had wondered if they would! Xx

claireinthecommunity · 28/03/2010 23:56

Aly that is such wonderful news - congratulations I loved reading how you told your hubby, I even got a little teary (in a happy, wistful way) Best wishes for your PG

I'm afraid my testing this am has brought on CD1 for me.

Thank you for the kind words re our friends and their split. They are both older than me and both have grown up children from previous partners and none together. I was on the phone with 'her' today for two hours, she is so upset, and yes there is another women involved! She was asking me all sorts of questions about 'him' and this new women (whom I've yet to meet) and I just kept saying to her that you really don't need to know or it would be better for me not to say what 'he' has said about her (the other women) It was difficult. It was only a couple of days ago that 'he' popped round to ours and was telling us how much in love with this new women he is, and how he has never been so happy - how can I tell my friend this, and how can I keep it from her? It's already feeling difficult to know how to deal with it in the best way.

So sorry for the mostly me me me post again, my mind is full and spinning at the moment.

felicityFlick · 29/03/2010 02:40

Hello Loves,

I have just had a good old read through but don't have time to do a proper catch up to all. Just wanted to pop by and congratulate aly! Wonderful news! Now you don't need to worry about all of those other things you were thinking about re. work etc! So thrilled for you

Sorry to here about your friends claire- what a tough situation for you to be in especially with the news about the other women..
Keeping fingers crossed kaloki...
and OMG mrsWajs!!!!! Your poor, poor dh! How are you both coping? Is he in a lot of pain bless him? You two really deserve a break!
cavemum- I'm just the same as you
Thanks for all your congrats on my shorter cycle!! it's funny the things that make you happy when you're ttc isn't it?!
Big waves to bunny and hermya- I miss you! Thanks for coming back to say hi!

Hope everyone is ok- I'll keep lurking and looking out for good news but probably won't be able to post until Friday. Have a full house at the min with my best friends and her dp staying and two of dh's best mates here too. We only have a small house! It has been a manic weekend as it has been the HK rugby 7's so we have been out at that all weekend and I have to say that I am feeling a little jaded as I type this! bellaby- I might have run into your bros- you never know!! I've lived here just since August.

Lots of love to all xxxxxxxxxxxx

CaveMum · 29/03/2010 07:42

Morning ladies - lovely weather ain't it! (tuts to self) Where did spring go?!

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks again to everyone for being so reassuring and helping me realise it is normal to be having these feelings!

Had a brief chat with DH before he headed back to his course yesterday arvo and ge suggested we sit down nxt weekend and have a good long chat about things, and that if I'm really desperate to have a baby maybe we should think about bringing things forward.

I'm still concerned about the prospect of Afghanistan, but DH said he can talk to people and see if there is a chance of him bringing it forward (ie going this Autumn) or pushing it back till, at best, 2012.

Also, does anyone know if being on maternity leave could affect our prospects of getting a mortgage? We will need to get a much bigger mortgage than we currently have to move house next year (not much chance of bringing that forward as we need to save up for a decent deposit).
I'm just worried the bank will look at maternity pay as my actual income and base the mortgage on that alone. I intend, at the moment, to go back to work full-time, but that of course could change!

God, all these thoughts in my brain - will they ever stop???!!!!

sorry again ladies!

Dinkytinky · 29/03/2010 09:25

Good morning everyone!WOW this thread moves fast - i've been lurking this weekend but there's been like 6 pages since saturday lol!
first things first CONGRATULAAATIONS *aly!!! soso pleased for you, dec 6th is a great time for a birthday too!

ooh just think everyone if we concieve around now we'll have new years eve babies, nnuts!

kaloki fingers crossed for you, could not believe your chav wedding lol, and what were you arguing about?
I think even if I get my bfp I'll still want to live here. I've had a cruise around some of the pregnancy/other conception threads and it can be really brutal, women can be so harsh to each other, unbelievably when we need each other the most. I mean, its not like we're a threat to each other is it?

bellaby thanks for the good luck, yep I'm here in the UK. ahh I could talk for hours about the economy but I'd probably bore you all to death lol. I had a pretty funny moment last week thoughwhen a bloke asked what I did and when I told him he just laughed and laughed and said 'ohhh thats a good one!'

Ariesgirl lol glad you passed the test, I'm always dead suprised on OBEM when they yank the baby out and its heads all over the place! ooh I have to say though, I was watching a crappy reality show the other day and one lady giving birth reached down to feel the head and then just pulled baby out onto her tummy! I was just sat there with my mouth open for 10 minutes!

Cavemum good morning! I know bloody miserable outside isn't it! it's so dark too, ruddy clouds! I think mortgage wise they can do it based on the previous tax year, which will be better, I suppose you would apply for your mortagage before you were actually 6 months gone or so (ie before maternity pay) too. Try not to worry about it too much though, for the first couple of month baby sleeps in your room I think so extra room might not be needed. Although I'm sure you have similar day dreams to me when I am painting nursery in 3 men and a baby style! I hope your chat with DH goes well too!

flick jeeez that sounds like a mad house! i love watching rugby too, love big thighs on a bloke haha

wannamum welcome! this is the best thread to be a crazy baby lady by far lol. but seriously this is my second month here and I love it, no bitchiness here, just lots of love and giggles and virtual wine/biccies!

OK I'm actually going to eff off now and do some bloody work. DP's away 2 and 1/2 of my 4 fertile days with work so i leapt on him last night. he brought my breakfast in bed so I think he was glad of the pouncing!
have a great day ladies, I have a good feeling about this week!

Kaloki · 29/03/2010 12:31

claire So sorry to hear about AF, wonder why testing seems to bring it on. Does the same for me too.

dinkytinky I'm resisting arguing, there's a particular poster who talks on and on about feminism, and has a go at anyone who doesn't conform to her views on how feminists act, and seeing as I'm close friends with (shock horror) strippers, porn stars and burlesque girls, we don't see eye to eye. And she think that she can claim some kind of (warped) moral high ground about how woman should be treated while insulting them and using derogatory terms, and she also talks about how men force women to do things against their will as they think that women can't think for themselves, while then presuming to know how all women feel and when they feel differently she tells them they only feel that way because men told them too. She also tells women what they should and shouldn't be doing. And never ever gets the irony!!!

OP posts:
maamalady · 29/03/2010 13:04

Congratulations, aly! Fantastic news!

Still no AF here, day 60 and my doctor's appointment tomorrow...

Dinkytinky · 29/03/2010 14:26

kaloki oh my gawwwd what a nightmare! I'm not a big fan of aggro feminists either-I'm all for equality but not being a nasty cow for the sake of it. I have a couple of friends who've stripped in the past but they're certainly not stupid- they both studied medicine and are qualified physicians now. I've had quite a bit of crap with women I work with who sometimes talk very loudly about how women who have blonde hair and wear high heels and perfume must have no brains/personality. One particularly charming lady implied my dp sexist for picking me up from work everyday ad carrying my bags for me!!!

good luck with doctors evilgiraffe* xxx
