Well mine started that way, which was good fun. Which was 2 days after OV/SWI, so I thought, hmm symptom.. then the cramps carried on from then but with constipation instead of diarrhoea. As you may be able to tell, me and my bowels are not talking right now!

Sorry if anyone was eating and reading!!

Hello fellow frolickers, I will try to get up to date in this post but it seems to be ages since I did a proper post . I am typing this while watching a music channel on sky so at the moment Justin Timberlake is on and I may be a little distracted.

On the subject of Marley and Me I watched it on the plane home from hols last year and was sat there like a right loon with tears streaming down my face on the plane ? and I?ve never even had a dog!

Claire glad the trade fare went well. I am like you on the names traditional but that?s not boring its just making sure you are not cruel!

Calligraphy82 I too had a stash of easter eggs but I have to admit they may well have been eaten ? as you can tell the diet is not going too well Love your choice of names by the way. I really like Grace but my friend has a little girl called Grace.

StiffyByng what did the docs say ? hope you are feeling a bit better now.

Dinky glad the exam went well. I don?t know how you cope living near a hospital ? it is weird when you are broody everyone around you seems to be pregnant!

Papertiger sorry to hear of AF, but I agree with the others prime numbers do seem lucky

Hermya (waves) hello, I too cant believe you are now at 9 weeks, glad you can noe remember how to drive

Cherry if only it was so easy as dropping of pants ? although there may well be a dramatic increase in the population!

Cavemum just been looking on the names website ? some of them are hilarious! I have to admit I have a girls name picked out but no boys names ? that will mean I have a boy doesn?t it. Although I am not at all bothered just need to pregnant first dont I . I once baby sat for a family with children called Ashley and Bethany and she wanted to call the next one Chelsea so it went ABC and all ended in ?ey? type names!! OMG those easter eggs are amazing! I think I may NEED one!

Kkas I had gone to buy some new shoes on Monday ? I have an obsession but the shop was shut ? not my day but to be honest I have now run out of space really (I have over 100!). Exciting news re the car - I have been looking as wouldn?t even be able to be heavily pregnant in my car due as it?s a sport car and bump would hit steering wheel! I have been looking at Q5?s but want a certain model and extras so it is like gold dust! So sorry to hear about your dog and the problems you are having with dh. I have no real advice but just wanted to let you know my heart goes out to you and dh .

Kaloki that wedding sounds like a nightmare, good job you escaped before the alcohol intake increased!

aly I can understand why you are going down the route you are but I can also understand if it all feels really fast but we are here for you all along the way.

Mumnerves hope the cramps are improving ? don?t feel too guilty about the wine. I have to admit I still have the odd glass in 2ww . I have seriously cutdown but sometimes that one glass just helps me unwind after a long day . Hope you are having a lovely weekend in the lakes, you never know the relaxing may well help you relax in 2ww and get your bfp

Haloflo do amazon not realise quite how important these sticks are! That is the only problem with the internet isn?t it! Also impressed with your TTC commitment of taking time off to SWI

Mrs Waj hope DH is feeling a bit better and actually able to use them a little. SSP is crap isn?t it! I sympathise regarding the late AF, although you can account for it due the stress it doesn?t make it much easier does it. I have ovulated a week late twice and both of those months didn?t SWI at the right time at all, and it is so frustrating when you realise. We are here if you need a rant.

Ariesgirl I don?t think Robin is gay! I know what you mean about temping and opk?s although as I now getting v close to a year of trying I think I may have to start down that route soon! I wish I had never been on the pill. I will never be going back on it as I am sure it has upset my natural cycle. What do you do in the tourist industry? I hope it is a lovely summer for you, it must be hard been so affected by the weather.

Flick the pollution sounds horrible, it is weird you take certain things for granted over here. I don?t live in a city so I even find London really horrible! Hope you enjoy your holiday. Any news re your Dad yet? Also glad to hear your cycles have regulated a little more

evilgiraffe I too need to book at smear and have no idea when I will be mid cycle! Hopefully your doctor will take it seriously and give you something to bring on your cycle (my friend has this ?cant remember what ? it wasn?t clomid ? and she back to regular cycles)

Lucky thanks for your kind thoughts to get me through the week. I love the fact you have named each month ? what have you gone for, for April? I like the theory re holding a baby when ov ? lets hope it works

Oh Kurly the sadness in your post made me tearful! I really hope AF arrives for you very soon. I would try going back to the docs before the 6 months, that?s bloody ages. I hope you stick around even if it is just to pop in every now and again.

Calyx that?s the reason I haven?t told anyone we are trying ? those kind of comments would send me mad! For the people that it happens quickly for just don?t realise the heartache others go though! Also v impressed with such a long post from iphone. I tend to give up!

bunny I am glad to see you are keeping up your stats bunny title- thanks for updating the list. I hope to be graduating to join you soon.

whiteroses sorry to hear you are still sick ? I can sympathise! At least things seem to be improving. I echo Calyx you always make such an effort even when you feel crap.

wannamummy hi and welcome to the thread, as said by others this is a lovely thread.

Bellaby I know what you mean about the thread moving so fast ? it must have taken me nearly an hour to write this post! Cant help you too much on ov symptoms but for me it is ? EWCM, feeling horny and feeling emotional. Budget was v boring, v pre election. I am a tax partner of an accountancy firm so radio and seminar are not totally in comfort zone so stressful week! Hope you enjoy your curry tonight.

aries and Kaloki your post just go to show we can talk about anything on here!!

No real news from me still no AF but have ov symptoms at the moment and I would be due to OV if AF had been on time last month. So I am assuming it is a missed AF and working on basis that we need to SWI lots It is really annoying though we are looking to book a spa break but I want to avoid AF not that I have any idea when that will be!

Right I am now going to post this as I think it is the longest post I have ever done but I now feel back up to date

Ariesgirl am I no longer a newbie then ? When did I graduate

I must confess I've had a few wobbly moments this week: the lady in my office who is pregnant had a week off and came back looking as though her bump had doubled in size! She's glowing of course and as she's only 2yrs older than me I find myself comparing our lives.
I admit I had to go into the office loo and have a little sob. Very daft and utterly stoopid I know, but it seems my hormones are trying to take me over .

It's all very odd as just 6 months ago babies were barely on my radar. I knew we'd have them one day, but it appears that this 'biological clock' thingy DOES exist!

Problem is I'm such a worrier and I keep finding reasons why having a baby right now would be a bad thing: DH will be off to Afghanistan sometime in the next year; we want to move house early next year (I just think moving when heavily pregnant or with a tiny baby would be a nightmare). Aarrrggghhhh!

Add to that the fact that I have no clue about babies! I've never really been around babies, my friends that have had kids all live miles and miles away. Don't know what to do with them! Never changed a nappy in my life and on the very rare occassion anyone has asked me if I want to hold a baby I've always said no for fear of dropping them!
Add to that a pathological fear of labour and you've got one very confused lady

Please someone tell me I'm not mad and that other people gave these crazy thoughts too!

Sorry for unloading on you all.

Bellaby · 28/03/2010 09:54

Morning All.

what a beautiful day it is and now we have longer days

Kaloki - your recall of the wedding is fantastic. Sounds like something you would see on a tv show! Glad you managed to escape before things really kicked off.

Calyx - curry was lovely thanks although the table next to us had a little girl on it and she was being very loud and whining. Kids... who would have them? . I am not temping at the moment as don't want to become completely crazy but might start to think about it next cycle if I can't see any other signs. Having said that I did feel mild cramps yesterday so thought maybe that was my ov sign. Unfortunately DH was too tired last night.

Zippys - well done on your long post! This week I'm definitely going to check in more often so I don't have to spend an hour as well catching up. Tax partner must keep you very busy particularly in the current environment and all these companies/people thinking about moving abroad to avoid the crazily high levels of tax we have to pay these days. I work in a bank so was impacted by the governments extra 50% tax on banks this year. Still can't complain as banks have a lot to answer for and most people were lucky to be paid this year considering they wouldn't be there without the government bailouts that happened.

luckyseven - glad to see you are so focused on posting the new list for the day that you posted it 5 minutes early! Hmmm cycle day 18 for me - I think I'd best make sure I get some SWI done next few days.

Have a lovely day everyone

Bellaby

Bellaby · 28/03/2010 10:12

cavemum - cross posts. You are not mad at all! Sorry to hear you are feeling all confused about everything. I think these things are natural. Whenever DH & I had discussed babies we'd always said 'in a few years' so I'd never really thought about it until start of this year when we just decided to start TTC as you can always be waiting for the right time and you don't know how long it will take. Now I think about it all the time. And I also have the worries about labour, will I be a good Mum, how will I know what to do...

I think the fact that you are preparing for it, for example by coming on here on Mumsnet.. means that you are preparing in the best way possible. I think that you & DH trying to think about what would be best in terms of timing for having a little one shows that you will be very loving parents.

Sorry if that answer is a little waffly. You should certainly come on here to vent whenever you like... that is what we are all here for

xxx

CaveMum · 28/03/2010 10:18

Bellaby bless you. Your post has made me a little teary (happens A LOT lately!) but definitely helps. Think I'm just going through a cycle of down moments right now. Nothing a big tub of Ben n Jerry's can't help with!

luckyseven · 28/03/2010 10:50

bellaby - i stayed up specially to post after a prison break box set marathon and dh was off to bed and whingeing at me to get off the computer!

Summer is here!

Hello all , I am a bad thread buddy at the moment and haven't been keeping up with the thread - sorry

Good friends of ours (they were our witnesses when we were married) have split up! He's left her - she's in shock. We are trying not to take sides and be there for them both. They have two properties, one near to us in the country where he is currently staying, and another in the city, their main home a few hundred miles from us, where she is residing. He has popped round to ours a couple of times as he is so near, I have written and spoken to her with a view to visiting her soon (she does have other friends and family near to her). This is the first time 'a couple' who are friends of ours have split up, and it brings up all sorts of feelings. I hope we can remain friends with them both - time will tell.

I'm CD30 still no AF, tested this morning and bfn, I'm hoping it was just too early.

(Will try to do a better job of keeping up with everyones news next week.)

mumnerves · 28/03/2010 12:25

Hope everyone is having a lovely sunday and remembered their clocks! ( those of you in daylight saving countries)

kaloki OMG the cramps sound like they're getting worse! Can't remember but were you going to the doctor about it??! Coupled with your neighbours and the wedding, poor you are just having such a bad time Your post on the wedding did make me pmsl though. I thought things like that only happened on the royal family! Good thing you both left before it got any worse.

haloflo glad you feel you swi at the right time this cycle

Hi wannamummy and welcome

MrsWajs I bet you'll be pleased when March is over Your poor DP, is he healing? I think tests are needed, maybe he could just have a hormonal defect that prevents him from absorbing calcium or something? 3-4 breaks sound way too frequent. Being self employed really does suck in that sense doesn't it?
((BIG HUGS)) Just think, when you've got your own DC you'll be able to sit back and all this will just be a hazy memory

bellaby Hope you managed to make the most of your 'high fertility' this weekend and enjoyed your curry, yum! I know what you mean about March being a dry spell, we're almost halfway through this thread and still no BFPs. Well, we've still got 3 days!

Flick So pleased af finally came for you ff is surprisingly accurate isn't it? I just believe it now and it's quite nice to be able to plan when af comes. Reduces the symptom spotting too as I'm now just focusing on af date.
Glad the pollution is gone and hope you'll have a lovely time with your friends and inlaws. So nice of them to make sure you and DH get a holiday too

kkas I'm glad you feel you can distract yourself and not put pressure on your DH. Maybe that's all he needs? At least you've got a goal now that you've set your sights on August. I'm sure it'll happen for you, you sound so committed to DH, I think it's so sweet
Cello??! Wow! I admire your determination! I've always wanted to play the cello or the double bass too. I've played the piano since I was 6 but not in the last 15 years or so as I left home, uni got married etc etc now no room or money for a piano. I enjoyed it but can't say I loved it. I had a horrible teacher to start off with ( she used to smack my knuckles with a ruler!!) and I think that just put me off. My sis plays the violin beautifully though and I've always loved the cello, such beautiful sounds and I love bass instruments such as the double bass. I've decided my fingers are too stumpy. My sis tried to teach me the violin but I kept catching the other strings! Did not sound good!

evilgiraffe did you ask for another dr to see you? Don't worry tues will come soon enough, I'm guessing it's cos of easter that they're fully booked?
So what do you win if you win your bet with DP? Something nice I hope

Dinkytinky I'd NEVER go back on the pill. I was on it for about 5 years. First got put on because was getting periods 12 days apart and the stupid dr just said oh I think you've got endometriosis, no tests or anything and I just stayed on it as contraception. 2 years later I started getting night sweats ( My nightshirt would be wringing with sweat) so changed pill. The next one, made me put weight on. I gained almost 2 dress sizes but because it was so gradual didn't realise till I went off the pill about 4 years ago and just lost the weight within 6 months! I personally would never go on the pill again.

papertiger how did your appointment go?

aly323 Glad your drs appointment went well. Did you test again? Whereabouts are you? Just 3 rounds sound pretty harsh, just what you don't need to put pressure on yourself!
Sorry to hear the puppy is gone, are you missing it? We found a dog yesterday too, but think he's owned by someone local, the local dogwalker has taken him and tried to find his home

Calyx can't believe her. I bet you just wanted to give her a big smack. (I would've if I was hormonal )

zippys It's next week we go away. AF should have just timed itself around then (typical!) but at least I can have a drink then ;)
Hope you manage to book your spa break, I'd love to go to one but DH would just get bored

Cavemum you are definatly very very sane. You've described exactly how I feel too. (minus Afghanistan ) The only good thing is no one really pesters me about having babies except my mum and mil as they really don't think I want them. I think society dictates that all women should be naturally maternal but not all of us are. A friend did say to me once, that it's different when it's your own, so just keep thinking of that. He/she will be worth it in the end And as bellaby said at least you care enough to prepare for it
I've not got a fear of labour but I think that's due to denial and you just watch me beg for an epidural when the time comes! At least you'll be mentally prepared for it at the time

Hi Calligraphy82 long time no see and welcome back!

Af is due tues/weds and I am trying to keep myself sane here. DH is away visiting relatives and I am not going to symptom spot!

mutter...I am not going to symptom spot, I am not going to symptom spot, I am not going to symptom spot.

Ariesgirl · 28/03/2010 12:25

Cavemum - you are me!

I was speaking to a friend's sister last night who'd just had a baby and asking her all about what they teach you at classes. She said there's loads about labour and virtually nothing about what happens after you get back from hospital. Virtually nothing she said! "But how do you know what to do?" I bleated pathetically. She said you just muddle through somehow, and looking at her with her adorable bundle, reassured me that you do. Hell, I even had a go of holding - not correctly of course, because I initially forgot about the holding the head bit, which flopped alarmingly. But hell, she didn't break and fall apart of spontaneously combust or anything! After five minute I passed her to DH to see how he'd cope and he completely did. My other two friends watched in an interested fashion as they're the only ones who know we're TTC and I could almost feel them "marking" us. And I think we'd pass. Think of it this way, there are many, many utter fuckwits in the world who manage to have babies. And you're clearly not a fuckwit, so take comfort in the fact! I had a massive wobble the other night at midnight on the BESH thread, and got all over come by the fact that I'm not patient, mumsy, or even nice enough to have a baby. But again, you just become so. It'll be fine

Ariesgirl · 28/03/2010 12:28

By the way, luckyseven, why is some of the list in bold? Just wondering!

CaveMum · 28/03/2010 13:15

mumnerves & Ariesgirl thank you. Such a lovely bunch of ladies here (hands out the Easter eggs).

It is very reassuring to know that I'm not going mad and that other people are thinkng the same random mad things - lol at the baby not spontaneously combusting Ariesgirl

We're not feeling pressured by anyone atm, though MiL did very randomly ask me the other day if twins run in my family (mum is a twin, have twin cousins and my grandad's siblings were twins, so looks like I know my fate!)!

My BF is the only person that knows we are thinking bout TTC, DH doesn't want people to know in case it puts too much pressure on us, but I told him I had to have someone to talk to or I'd go mad(er)!

Right must dash, lunch is ready. Thanks again ladies.

Bellaby · 28/03/2010 16:48

luckyseven - I love Prison Break! Watching Dexter at the moment which is also good. DH & I are total TV series addicts.

claire sorry to hear about your friends. Must be espeically tough trying to make sure you support both through this. Such a sad thing when this happens. Do they have any children? I hope that AF not being here yet is a good sign for you. You really deserve to get a BFP so I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

mumsnerves - keep us posted on those symptoms although obvioulsy not encouraging you to symptom spot

Ariesgirl -glad you passed the holding baby test. The floppy head thing always scares me! I speculate that the names in bold are luckysevens favourite people on here . However it might just be the people who are regular posters on here? Perhaps luckysevens is keeping a spreadsheet tracking us all - it's something I thought about doing!

cavemum - I think I would love to have twins but alas it doesnt' run in our families

Temp was still high today and despite no symptoms and three days of heavy spotting, I couldn't resist the urge to POAS. I have been breaking out a little, but that's happened more than I would like since getting off the pill. I also had two very vivid dreams right about when I would have conceived where people told me I was pregnant (one a court reporter, the other a doctor). I hadn't "you're pregnant" dreams before. I'm about 13dpo and got very faint lines on two internet cheapies (which has also never happened) so I decided to use the only good test I had around- a clearblue digi. Only the first ic was with FMU. Like so many others, I pulled it out of the trash and saw a faint line...

I'm in shock! DH is on a bike ride and should be back any minute. I can't wait to tell him. I'm just so excited I couldn't keep it to myself!

I think I got my BFP this month because DH was so put off at the prospect of his semen analysis that he finally convinced his little guys to do their job right! He's going to be VERY happy that he won't have to put the cup to use.

Of course, now I'm trying to reign in the excitement a little since I've seen so many BFP's turn neg on here. I know it could happen and am trying to be excited but keep in mind that sometimes it doesn't work out.

Calligraphy your DH's reaction to unprotected sex was similar to my DH's. Mine kept commenting about how he was so conditioned not to do it without protection that it almost felt wrong. Him saying this (almost everytime we DTD) didn't do much for setting the mood. He also had absolutely no idea about timing- although I think sometimes I have been a little too stringent about timing and used his ignorance to my benefit ("no, it HAS to be right now, we can't wait till morning, that'll be too late") thus adding to performance issues.

So is anyone else in testing mode, or coming up on it soon? I refuse to go to any grads list alone. Who's next?

Think my plans for this evening are going out the window. It's DH's Birthday so we went for a lovely lunch with his Mum and brother.... unfortunately they are still here and now DH is tucking into the whisky (after much wine)! Maybe he got fright at me telling him about possible ov
