Gah sorry about all the errors in my post! I'm on my new phone and buttons are so teeny! Xxxxx

felicityFlick · 23/03/2010 12:38

Oh no kkas- what a horrid day For what it's worth, I think you sound like you dealt with all of that really well. A few tears is nothing after a day like that. Look after yourself today and treat yourself to some of your favourite things xxxx

CaveMum · 23/03/2010 13:21

kkas big (((hugs))) for you. Losing a pet is always hard even when it is expected. I lost my dog 10 years ago and STILL get a tad emotional when I think about her. But then again I am a huge softy.

MrsWajs · 23/03/2010 16:51

Awww kkas sorry about your dog I was a wreck when our family dog got put to sleep, and I wasn't even really that keen on her. It's just so sad.

Well did cheapo test this avo and again BFN, starting to get a bit perplexed by it all.

Also now think that, my increased CM last week was infact EWCM and that I have ovulated REALLY late??? As I wasn't able to get Ov on my opk's around the time I thought I should and also I had a bug at that time too which could have put Ov off anyway. Anyone else think this is a viable reason??

So just to add insult to injury we hadn't been SWI'ing at the time I had the CM as i thought I was pg so I will have missed the egg again!!!! Aaaaaagggghhhh.

aly323 · 23/03/2010 17:17

kkas big hugs to you. Losing pets is horrible no matter what the age. I think it's especially difficult after you've spent 18 years together. That dog must have had a happy life to have lived that long. Sorry to hear about your sister, too. It's such a weird situation because you're happy for her, but... I have two cousins, who are sisters, who are due about two months apart. Maybe this is how it'll be for you! It would be great for your baby to have a cousin so close in age.

mrs wajs, you might just be right about the ovulation. I get thrown off easily by illness or stress. If so, I'm sorry you're timing seems to be off. Ttc sucks.

I'm a little ashamed of myself this morning. The puppy is destroying everything it can (lamps, fans, shoes) and the dogs are constantly playing and are loud and in the way. The girls are confirming every stereotype about teenagers. Today, two of them freaked out because I put carrots into a fruit smoothie. One started squeeling about how it grossed her out. She also freaked out over quacamole yesterday. I kind of snapped and said she was being amazingly immature. It's just been a lot to deal with. They want to be served, can't decide anything on their own, don't get excited about anything... and so on.

To top it off, one is in the aftermath of a miscarriage! They're all seventeen! Two are actually really good girls, but one is really immature and insecure and let her boyfriend take off her patch. I can't even say how it makes me feel. Here I am visiting a fertility doctor and she's on her way to an amusement park while still bleeding. It's so not right.

Hopefully I can make it through the next few days. It doesn't help that I'm highly emotional right now and at the end of my tww.

OK, venting done. Thanks for letting me rant ladies!

claireinthecommunity · 23/03/2010 19:11

Oh kkas and Aly, you've both been through it recently - big hugs to you both.

I can't seem to keep up with the thread at the moment, I'm sorry about not posting individually, but hello to everyone else . I'm still feeling well in myself and taking each day as it comes.

maamalady · 23/03/2010 19:56

Me too, Claire, the thread is moving so fast I am also missing bits! Hello to all and hugs to the several people who are having a shitty time of it.

I called the doctor today, but can't make an appointment for Thursday yet (would go tomorrow, but Alice in Wonderland is taking priority). Hopefully I'll get an appointment for Thursday if I ring tomorrow, and will maybe actually find out something about super-long cycles. Now on day 53 and really quite bored!

mumnerves · 23/03/2010 20:48

Evening everyone!

evilgiraffe Hope you get your appt for thursday. Been meaning to go see Alice in wonderland for ages, just can't seem to find the time Are you seeing it in 3d? Hope you enjoy it anyway!

aly323 what a horrible time you're having atm Hope the rant did you good, rant on at us all you want, also doesnt everything just seem worse at the end of the 2ww? Just something to perhaps cheer you up, you live in LA and have lots and lots of sun, it's peeing it down outside here in UK and dark at 6pm!

Dinkytinky a phd in economics??! wow! clever girl! I can't do anything like that so, am pretty envious of your brains

kkas Big hugs for you! It's awful to lose a pet, my dog is like a member of my family and even though he's only young, I'm dreading it already when the time comes, I don't think they live long enough. Yours sound like he/she had a lovely long life though
Do you think maybe counselling may help your DH's performance? I can imagine how hard that can be for you. My DH was 'off' in that dept for 2 years just before and just after we got married. Coupled with the post marriage settling down arguments, needless to say it took us a while to sort things out between us. It's not perfect now, but much much better, his problem then was due to excessive alcohol. I hope you don't take it too personally, do you think he's getting nerves with all the TTC? Big hugs again and lots of choccies and !

felicityflick I think you can put in 36.23 on ff? I put my temps in to 2 decimal places. I just put them on when I think I might have ovulated so I don't obsess too much about it. (not that I would of course ) The smog in HK looks horrible! Are you wearing a dust mask around? My friends who live in Kuala Lumpur get a lot of smog from Indonesia and they have to wear dust masks.

Hermya We're going to Ravenglass near the coast. We've done Windermere and wanted somewhere a bit less touristy but with a lovely hotel. We're bringing the dog too so hoping for some great walks along the way.....BUT you watch AF come just before my lovely holiday and slap me in the face!

haloflo It was noticed a while back that most of the graduates got their bfp when their cycle of trying hit prime numbers so cycle 1,3,5,7,11 etc. Not saying everyone did but we decided that cycles with prime numbers were lucky

FF has told me that I ovd on fri, same day as +ve opk which now takes me 4 days dpo. Am now still getting af like cramps so I'm even more convinced that I need this scan. Also my temps have not risen as much as in previous cycles??! Not sure what that means but my body really confuses me

Anyone else notice we're almost on 300 posts??!!

cherrycobbler · 23/03/2010 21:37

have to be super quick but didn't want to read and run - lots of to you kkas and aly.

mrswajs i think my ov has been pushed back a week by illness too - so def a possibility - is there a poss that this could yet result in a BFP this month?

just spoke to my heavily preg best friend and suddenly irrationally although was very good at listening to how excited she was etc etc. Sigh.

Hermya321 · 23/03/2010 22:55

Mumsnerves Ooooo thats sounds lovely, it's a nice area round there. I hope you don't get hit by the weather.

MrsWajs · 24/03/2010 00:02

No cherry think I may have missed Ov, if it was just at the weekend, as SWI'ing was sparse!! Annoyed with myself now and more so because DP was 'up for it' and I wasn't - maybe should trust his instincts more often!!!

MrsWajs · 24/03/2010 08:01

morning campers!

i have a wee question, for anyone who may know the answer.....

do you think it is possible to have anovulatory cycles and still test positive on OPK's??

my reasonig behind this is that OPK's are detecting the LHsurge but there is ? no guarantee that although your body is preparing to ovulate, an egg is actually released??? If tht makes sense to anyone would be glad to hear your thoughts on it.

zippys · 24/03/2010 08:08

Morning,

I agree with Claire this thread is moving soo fast. Just wanted to pass and unmumsnet (hug) to Kkas Aly Evilgiraffe and Mts Waj.

Havent got time for individual posts I am afraid as this week is madly busy at work. As you may know today is the budget so it one of our busiest weeks with speaking at seminars and on the radio so if you dont hear from me for a few days, sorry.

No news to report still no AF, trying to docs appointment re that and other things so will let you know. Also still being sick!!

zippys · 24/03/2010 08:08

ooh fogot to say glad you are feeling better Claire

zippys · 24/03/2010 08:09

Sorry for all the typos in those posts - rushing!!

kkas · 24/03/2010 11:29

hey - thanks for all the kind words and support guys. it really helps. last few days are better so i guess i'll live!

aly really sorry to hear you having to go through that. rant away!!!

mumnerves i have also thought counselling might help and i'm sure you're right about the TTC affecting him. we also went through this when we first got together about 6 years ago and since we were married i guess we have just sorta accepted it and adjusted our sex life accordingly (i.e. i got used to getting sex only 1-2 times a month when he felt like it!) but now i feel like even if we weren't TTC, that is not good enough for me and he really needs to sort through whatever issues he has because it is affecting our relationship but if i suggest counselling do you think that will just make it worse?! i really don't know what to do.....

Hello kkas. How are you today? Got the new car yet?

kkas · 24/03/2010 14:38

hi aries i'm feeling much better today thanks. no car yet though. it won't be ready until the summer apparently (!) something to look forward to i suppose.... how are you? just noticed we are almost cycle buddies this time. can't remember - do you think you have ov yet?

Ariesgirl · 24/03/2010 15:13

Absolutely no feckin idea! Last month I was thinking smugly that my body was an oh-so-predictable machine and I armed myself with a ticksheet of ov-signs to mark off. Pain in ovarian region? Check! Eggy-white gunge? Check! Acting and feeling like Billie Piper in Call Girl? Check! Two weeks since last droid? Check! This month, nothing. We S-edWI thre times last week just in case, but I may be one of those people who doesn't ov every month - it's too soon to tell and to be honest I haven't yet reached the stage where I want to stick a thermometer in an orifice on waking or piss on sticks daily (would break my very feeble bank account!)

But while we're on the subject, if AF is regular to within 1-2 days every month, does that mean it's pretty likely that you're ovulating, does anyone know? Even at my advanced age? 35 next week

kkas · 24/03/2010 15:44

not sure, really. have you been off BC long? i know my first 2 cycles off seemed very regular, and then it started varying from there. i think it was more that it took that long for pill to wear off for me. who knows though.... guess that's good that we are all in this together!

Ariesgirl · 24/03/2010 16:01

You're going to think this odd, but I Have Never Been On The Pill. There, I said it. I have always been this regular.

Ariesgirl · 24/03/2010 16:04

Sorry, I meant to add this: that I have never been interested in babies before about five months ago and therefore have always had an incredibly cavalier attitude towards my womanly functions, at least with regard to ov-ing. Know when I'm due on because it affects swimming, skiing, surfing and all those other exciting activities I'm planning on ditching

luckyseven · 24/03/2010 18:04

Hello fellow frolickers!

We really have been talking machines lately - do we have enough thread left for Kaloki to get her bfp?

kkas sorry about your dog, i have never had my own dog but dh's family pet was put down last Feb and it was so sad.

zippys sending you lots of energy to get you through your hectic week and rubbish that you are still sick.

aly323 i really admire your patience with your teenage house guests.

mrs waj you were talking about ov sticks and getting an lh surge but not sure if the egg actually is released. I was getting 6 opk positives in a row which I thought was weird so started temping and using fertility friend as a way to indicate ovulation. As the multiple opks was freaking me out i asked my GP what she thought, she was a bit sceptical about opks and i frightened her with my fertility friend graphs but she organised for me to get day 21 bloods done anyway (probably to make me go away) Re the EWCM theory on pregnancy it seems every pg symptom is also an af symptom as i get it just before AF - first month it happened got excited it was a sign but further research online said it can also happen before AF - how confusing it can appear for three reasons!

I need your help coming up for a new name for April - since we started ttc there has been nookie November, Doing it December, Jiggy January and well you can guess what Feb was and making love march is nearly over - i hadn't made one up for April as i naively thought i would get pg on demand. Any ideas for April?
Not much news with me waiting it out in NWL CD8 and I am still low on teh CBFM. i can't remember who is in with a chance of a ginger baby but my husband is a red head and i am blonde so it is a possibility for me too!

I realise I haven't got round everyone but I am on daily catching up but not always posting.

kurlyvoice · 24/03/2010 18:32

Hello,

Apologies in advance but I'm feeling really blue and although I spent nearly an hour last night catching up with everyone's posts and trying to compose a lengthy reply, I just don't think that I can do you all justice at the moment.

I am very sorry to hear about those of you having a crappy time of it, and am particularly sorry for being selfish at the moment, but when you spend all day being totally selfless for hundreds of children with their own problems, it's a bit hard to keep it up at home.

You see, having hit the 3 month mark with still not even the smallest sign of AF, I am thinking that I should hide away until it arrives as I am absolutely no use to anyone until it comes. I know that it is really silly to be worrying when it has ONLY been three months, but I am also one of those people convinced that it will take years to conceive - and I have been for ages, despite having regular periods until I went on the pill. It didn't help that we spent the weekend with our four adorable nephews...

Anyway, I guess I'll leave you all to enjoy the thread while I sit out the long wait for AF, especially if I do have to wait the doctor-prescribed 6 months.
