S'alright Ariesgirl I won't tell ;)

I like my name, not too common not too unusual.

Of course now that there is a certain Geordie popstar on the scene with the same name no doubt there will be an explosion of us around the country

papertiger · 22/03/2010 19:00

Hi, just for the record, got AF today so onto cycle number 5...
Hope you have better luck than me MrsWajs

mumnerves · 22/03/2010 19:47

papertiger sorry about af well, cycle 5 is a good number, there's this thing about prime numbers being lucky on this thread.

calligraphy well, I thought at first it was because I was noticing it more, and all in my head, but 6 months on, I don't think it's my mind anymore which is why I went to the GP 2 weeks ago
TBH I'm not sure if it's my bowel possibly either??! When I went to the GP she did an internal examination to see if she could feel anything(sorry if TMI) and she couldn't but it hurt after for days where she'd prodded. It's not a bend over terrible pain but more like an ache??! I used to feel ov and that was more like a 'ooh' and then it was gone. This can last for a week! BTW thanks for asking
I wish it was glass that held whole bottle but I'd told DH that I was driving since I could only have one I could've seriously drunk another 2 glasses, it was really yummy wine and we were having such a nice meal

haloflo · 22/03/2010 20:26

I like quite modern names but daren't dwell on it too long until I get my BPF (and then i'll prob want to wait til im a good few weeks gone) Not sure why, just worried i'll jinx it I guess. I don't think i'll chose anything in the top 10 though - I wouldn't want my baby having to be one of many in his/her class.

cavemum I love the idea of your DH's grandfather's name, I think thats a lovely idea. I'm never done my family tree but would love to someday. My granddad was Norweigan so I think it would be really interesting.

kaloki I like storm, that would have been nice. I nearly got called Lettuce (Letty for short) That wouldn't have been so nice! (I hope there are no Lettys on this board - if there are im very sorry!) Hope you are feeling better today.

papertiger Sorry to hear about AF - as if mondays aren't bad enough.

mumsnerves and others whats the lucky cycle theory about? I remember you all saying to me when I was on cycle 3 that was a lucky one. I was tempted to change my stats so I was on cycle 3 again as I'm not sure I can count my first one off the pill. However ive decided that i'm sticking to cycle 4 and am hoping to prove that even numbers are just as good!

Also I hope your pains are solved soon.

zippys Sorry about BFN.

mrswajs Keep us informed, if you ov'd late then BFP could be late!

Ariesgirl Hope the 2ww is going ok. My birthday is in the middle of my next 2ww and as i'm having a party I know i'll probably have a drink. I hope that doesn't make me hell bound.

chalky and aly Marley and Me ripped a hole in my heart and left me feeling so raw. I could never watch it again! I watched it with a friend and we looked a state with our fat puffy eyes afterwards.

Not much new from me. I'm CD 9 and the ov sticks haven't arrived! I'm very disappointed and if it gets to CD 11 i'm going to have to buy some in Boots. If the lucky even number cycle 4 goes to plan I'll end up with tons of them!

Ariesgirl · 22/03/2010 22:03

How about these two Cavemum?
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/933965-Emory-and-Mocara

Dinkytinky · 22/03/2010 23:25

Hi everybody! Distinctly feeling less sorry for myself today,af nearly over!ooo cavemum one of those names you listed in your family tree is my name!ooh I do wonder what everyones real name is!

I actually have a friend called storm and she loves it (terrible sjowoff haha) the weird bit is that her brothers called liam?!

My dp really wants to name a son after his grandad Herbert! Oh god... I think it's sweet but my god he would hate us!!! I like the name Ava for a girl, but I'm not set on anything!

mrswajs fingers still crossed Hun,lots of good luck your way xxx

Hermya321 · 22/03/2010 23:25

Mumsnerves Which part of the lakes are you going to? (you don't have to tell, I'm just being nosey)

MrsWajs · 23/03/2010 01:17

Liam and Storm???? It's too funny, why would you give one kid an unusual name and the other a completely normal one!!
I think I'll be leaning towards the slightly different names when I have a babba to name! I also liked Ava, Eva or Eve for a girl but I want to give the middle name Rae for a girl after my dad and somone kindly pointed out that Ava Rae would make her sound a bit like a big bird cage so may have to re-think that one! DP likes Robyn for a girl and Ethan for a boy.
Anyway at present there is no baby to be named so will keep that on the back burner for now!! Still no AF for me so was planning to re-test on Wedneasday or Thursday but think I might just do it tomorrow when I get up (on nightshift again!) as I'm so bloody impatient!!
Was pondering what you said haloflo about late ov and am now thinking instead of it being in the 3 days I missed OPK'ing i.e. CD17,18 & 19, then perhaps it was CD22 or 23?? That would mean AF was due to arrive on CD36 roughly?? Can't have been CD21 0r 22 as I OPK'd then and they were both negative, so I'm really a bit stumped by it all!
Thanks to everyone else who has been asking after me, it's really appreciated!! Being off here even just for a couple of days makes it REALLY difficult to catch up but will give it a bash anyway!
Thanks calligraphy for the easter egg! Muchos appreciated
Hi to whiteroses We have now officially "met"
kkas New car sounds fab!! Loving the colour too, bet you can't wait to get your mits on it!
Kaloki Hope you're feeling better soon, bugs are the pits! I had a touch of one a few weeks ago and it was awful!!
Chalky I may be a heartless witch but Marley and me didn't make me cry!!? I actually thought it was one of the worst films I've seen for a long time!! Sorry, I'm aware I'm in the minority here and I do like dogs . . honest!
Stiffybyng Thanks for sharing about your own contact ordeal, it helps to know we're not the only one's going through it but still wish we weren't all the same. We've started proceedings now anyway so will just wait and see what happens next, will check out the website you suggested though
papertiger Sorry about AF
Zippys Hugs right back at you, I now know how you're feeling and it ain't nice But like everyone keeps telling us - 'it's not over til it's over' Hope you get some answers one way or another soon!
Dinky Nearly pee'd my pants when i saw you had affectionately termed DP's ex 'troll' that's what we call her!!! Very fitting it is too! Hopefully be taking her down a peg or three just shortly though What's the exam you're revising for?? Good luck anyway sure you'll do just fine. We're going to Cyprus on our hols Can't bloody wait and you're right maybe babyWajs#1 will be conceived there, perhaps then he/she should be named Paphos?? Inkeeping with the strange baby name theme!!! Lol.
Cavemum Loving your ancestry thing you have going on, I traced a lot of my family a few years ago but got a bit stuck since half of them are from Ireland and a lot of the census paperwork there got lost in fires!! Very annoying

Mentions too for hermya, cherrycobbler, claire, mumnerves, aly and flick as I know you all left supportive posts for me

Right well I think I've pretty much torn the proverbial arse out of this, so I'll maybe go and do some actual work, since that's what I'm getting paid to be here at this time of night for!! Catch up with you all tomorrow! Night xx

Ariesgirl · 23/03/2010 01:21

Oh my God, MrsW what are we still doing up?

Ariesgirl · 23/03/2010 01:22

Aah, you're doing nights. (Note to self - read posts before commenting). I had an excuse - insomnia brought about by paranoid worryings about ginger babies (see other thread). Will make cocoa and return to bed.

Ariesgirl · 23/03/2010 01:24

PS I adore the name Robyn for a girl and Robin for a little lad. Someone has said that Robin is a bit "gay" (???) but our hardest mate is called Robin so I disregard that!

MrsWajs · 23/03/2010 01:25

Ginger babies lol - my friend had one of them and in her drug-induced state asked if it could be put back!!!!

MrsWajs · 23/03/2010 01:27

Not really sure Robyn Rae is gonna work either tho?!?! Sounds a bit naff!

Ariesgirl · 23/03/2010 01:27

Hey, don't go too far! We've been having this conversation over on the FESH thread and a disproportionate number of us are gingers and we've come to the conclusion we're a cool species. However boys have it harder in life I think.

Ariesgirl · 23/03/2010 01:27

Meant BESH.

MrsWajs · 23/03/2010 01:57

Just been reading up on that! What is the meaning of BESH/FESH???

There is a high proportion of gingers in my family too so I'm not ruling myself out for ginger babies! In fact I was an honorary ginger for about a year at the age of 2 but I turned blonde.

felicityFlick · 23/03/2010 02:48

Morning all,

Special good morning (should be good night!) to our late night posters mrsWajs and aries!

Loving the names chat , your conversation is keeping me amused at work! I am so curious about what everyone's real names are now. I think mine is quite obvious though....

mrsW- keep us posted on your poas status.

aries my obsession has risen to new levels and I have now planned up until Christmas what I will do if firstly, my cycles do not regulate by June (when I can ttc again), and after that if I am not pregnant by Christmas. I like to have a plan you see

papertiger sorry about your af, have put you at the bottom of the list. The prime numbers are lucky so fingers crossed for cycle 5 for you.

How are you feeling stiffybyng? and has your cold gone now cavemum? How interesting about your family history. I'd love to do that but I think I'm a bit too lazy! Can't believe you are related to Princess Di!

mumnerves- Not long until the hols, The lakes will be lovely! Glad the weather is picking up for you back home too. I have a quick question for you and also any other people who temp. I saw from your post above that you record in ºC... do you round your readings up before you put them in FF? (I am assuming you use FF!) so for example if your temp was 36.23 would you enter that figure or round it down to 36.2? I'm not really sure which to do so have been rounding my numbers?? Thanks! Keep us posted on your scan.

Hope you're ok zippys, any news? and evil how are you? any news on doctors appointment? *kurly... any signs of af??

Wow aly- you live in LA!! I am going to LA for the first time on holiday in the summer- you will have to give me the locals guide to all the good places to go.

hermya- thanks for your post! Glad you can now drive again, he he!! It seems like forever ago that you were doing your driving test and telling us all about Mr. Nice voice! I must admit to having my binoculars out again and stalking checking up on all you graduates over on the other thread so I have seen the news about your mil and mum also your work colleagues

In news from me, I am struggling to breathe right now! Have any of you seen this news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/8579495.stm
Yucky pollution in HK! It's so horrid outside- at work all of the children are being kept in at break time and PE and outside activities have been suspended.

In other more relevant news, after my delight of ovulating on day 19 (according to FF!) I am not sure now if I actually did.. I am 19dpo if I am to believe FF and no sign of af why, oh why can't my cycles hurry up and regulate?!!

CaveMum · 23/03/2010 06:55

FelicityFlick bless you for thinking of me and my cold! It's still lurking, in that annoying way where it us bad enough to make you feel yuck but not bad enough to stay off work!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

kkas · 23/03/2010 10:10

hi guys - rant alert - yesterday was a bad day.

first - my mum called to tell me she had to put our dog to sleep. she was very old (almost 18) and so i had prepared myself for that call for a long time, but it still wasn't any easier.

then - sis called to tell me she was pg with their 2nd LO. she was very sensitive about it as she knows we have been trying, and i was very brave and kept it together and, hopefully, sounded happy and excited. i am happy for them, but just a bit bittersweet and i guess as they only started trying in january.

to top it all off, i had ewcm again yesterday, so broke out the romantic candles and sexy underwear last night and, despite all my best tricks, DH got stage fright.... again! getting really sick of this! frankly - that was the last straw so i broke down in floods of tears in front of DH, which of course does not help things and only adds to the pressure he feels, i know. but it is just so hard sometimes!

can someone please pass the choccies and 's

Ariesgirl · 23/03/2010 10:25

Oh kkas . So sorry about your dog and the stage fright. There's nothing really to say is there except it's very very hard. Pregnant people are literally everywhere when you're trying and struggling and when one of these is your own sister it makes it even harder. Mine's due in July - sister that is, not own baby obviously. When she told me I just said "Holy fuck!" and carried on walking, a reaction I feel very ashamed of and I did apologise profusely, claiming I was just very surprised. I then spent hours of the night crying into my pillow while sleeping in her lounge on a camp bed. And no matter how old a family pet is, it's still full of grief when they die. Hugs to you.

pixiestix · 23/03/2010 10:31

Oh Kkas, lots of and an un-Mumsnetty [hug]

chalky3 · 23/03/2010 10:31

Like the idea of using your DH's grandfather's name Cavemum, it's nice to keep it going. Think you may have given away your own name though! Quite fancy doing the ancestry thing too, I'm sure it would be very interesting.

Sorry about AF papertiger, bring on the wine! I've got some of those giant glasses, you can borrow one if you like!

Dinkytinky AF is just over for me too, I like this part of the month. No AF, not ov time yet and not the 2ww. Lol at Storm and Liam, at least that's unconventional! Maybe they were conceived during a storm and at an Oasis concert!

MrsWajs, how could you not well up at Marley and Me?!! I don't normally cry at films, guess I didn't really at this one either but only because I left the room til it was over! Not sure about 'Paphos' for a name btw! Cyprus is so hot it puts you off baby making anyway!

How horrible about the pollution in Hong Kong felicityflick, you'll have to start wearing a face mask!

Aries, ginger babies worry me too, would have to start dying their hair before they start school, kids can be so cruel (joking of course)! I think you're right about boys getting it worse than girls though. DH was born ginger but went dark (on his head at least !) There's a fair amount of the gene on my side too.

Got some ideas for names too. I quite like traditional but slightly unusual names, the kind that everyone has heard before but don't really know anyone with that name. I would also like something 'Scottish' as that's what we are and our surname isn't. My maiden name is Scottish but that's relegated to middle name status now! They say that if you have lots of girls names you'll have a boy and vice versa, wonder if that's true.

chalky3 · 23/03/2010 10:39

Crossed posts with you kkas, hugs, what a horrible time you've been having.Lots of sympathy and s coming your way.
So sorry about your mum's dog, at least she had a long life but it doesn't make it any easier.
Sorry it didn't work out with DH last night. Maybe you should relax together tonight without any pressure on either of you, if it happens it happens.
Happy for your sister, hopefully you will join her soon and you can be pg together!
Be good to yourself today.

Dinkytinky · 23/03/2010 12:26

kkas so sorry that you had a really crappy day, it's so horrible to lose a family pet, but it sounds like she had a very long and happy life, I lost my pooch last year and still get teary now when I think about her.and know it must be very difficult with your sister too- it's very hard to plaster on a smile sometimes. Aries aw your story about your sis was so sad, I'm sure you both will not be waiting too long til you can graduate too.

I rather stupidly live next to our citys naternity hospital and it's torture-see new babies and ready to pop women everyday! It's pretty funny some days tho-last week me an dp were walking home and found a red hatchback full of congratulations balloons with the keys in the ignition and both doors wide open lol! Don't worry we locked it an handed the keys in! Even the local smackheads didn't know what to make of it- to be fair they are ok- they made a very weak attempt of mugging me once and since then have been very polite!
chalky I love Scottish names for boys,I live hamish but that's my dogs name so I think may be cruel! Glad we re on similar cycles! Although that means well be stressing together in 3 weeks time lol!

mrswajs I didn't cry at Marley and me the film either! Ithought it was a awful adaptation. I cried so much Reading the book though, it's much funnier:better all round!

Has anyone seen homeward bound? I sob at the end of that web now 'shaaadooow!'

I've forgotten who asked about my exam but it went really well thankyou! I'm doing my economics phd at the mo and was an exam for a government agency
