CONGRATULATIONS worrisome And there you were worrying that you wouldn't be able to have your tests done as AF hadn't arrived in time

Seems like booking fertility tests is the way forward!

Felicity I've been in Sydney since November, so still settling in really. Sometimes I wonder if I'm mad for moving halfway around the world and then deciding I want a baby. I suppose at least I won't have to worry about interference from mum/mil

Morning all!

Seriously this has to be a record breaking month for BFPs!!!

Nearly the weekend, I can't wait. I'm still feeling sicky and crampy in the mornings, it's really weird. I never had anything like this before I went on the pill.

Felicity bunny this is such an international thread!!

Worrisome FANTASTIC NEWS!!!! Thats brilliant!!! I'm so happy for you!

WhiteRoses · 29/01/2010 07:52

Addie and Worrisome - yay! Congratulations! Worrisome - wasn't that amazing timing, getting your BFP on the day you're meant to be at a fertility clinic?! Yorkshire - that should bring you lots of hope!

Addie - I totally know what you mean about going from one form of craziness to another! I'm seven weeks today and can't wait to get to the magic twelve... Last night though, I dreamed I had just gotten to twelve weeks, and was celebrating, but then I started bleeding... Woke up convinced it was real - very horrible. But luckily not true! "Crazy" baby ladies is definitely right enough!

Claire - is it tomorrow that you plan to test?

Chance - lol at DH reminding you about the crumpet! Hope your mouth's feeling better today. Sounds really sore... x

Yorkshire - good luck at the doctor's today. Make sure and let us know how it goes. x

Bunny - that's good to hear that your DH is beginning to get to grips with your cycle! My DH was just so laidback that he trusted I'd let him know!

Linz, Felicity and Kurly - if I've not said it before, welcome!

Pidgin · 29/01/2010 08:20

Congrats Addie and Worrisome! This has been a bonanza month.

I'm just updating today's list as AF arrived yesterday, right on time... it's a relief in a way, at least I can stop symptom spotting!

Happy weekend everyone!

WorrisomeHeart · 29/01/2010 08:27

Thanks everyone - I am trying to keep my feet firmly on the ground and be sensible but it's very hard! I think once I get another BFP (crossed fingers) tomorrow I'll feel better. Actually, every day further away from AF will help. whiteroses I'll also wait a bit before joining the grads thread - want to give it some time to sink in!!

But here's a question for you all - which HPT to buy? I got the BFP on a FirstResponse and I will def get a digital one, just to see the words, but is there another good brand I should try?

LinzRed · 29/01/2010 08:37

Thanks FelicityFlick I knew about Agnus Castus but not that it's the same thing as vitex. Anyway I'm going to my chemist today and am gonna give it a try. Good luck to everyone poas today! Fingers crossed for you all. I'm thinking of getting some opk's now I'm heading into 2nd week of cycle. Though I'm not hopeful ov will be taking place cos of pill effect but one can hope.

WhiteRoses · 29/01/2010 08:55

Lol Worrisome! You've got a BFP! Believe it - you're pregnant!

I did a few (can't remember how many exactly) First Responses and then a Clearblue Digital, with a result of 3+wks. Doctor also took blood and confirmed it that way too.

FelicityFlick · 29/01/2010 08:58

Wow! Excellent timing worrisome This is clearly the place to be if you want a BFP as it is such a lucky thread!

bunny- I'm the same! We knew it was on the cards but decided to start and try in November when we'd been here 3 months. Our mum's will kill us- I think I will have to pretend that we weren't planning it! I do often think I am mad especially without the NHS to rely on and getting to know the way that everything works here and how much it costs but this is definitely the right time so will have to just deal with those things as and when they arise!

Who is testing this weekend? It's so exciting!

kkas · 29/01/2010 10:26

congrats addie and worrisome so happy for you!!!!!!!!

sorry i haven't posted for a few days. nothing going on and no real symptoms to spot. know it's not meant to be this month (next month, huh yorkshire )

i am off to nyc and washington dc for work next week so will probably be MIA until next Friday, although I might try to log on to keep up with you lot (this thread moves so fast!) don't plan on testing before then as i'm worried enough about flying with the possibility that i might be pg and i'd rather just think af came if i start to bleed next week rather than getting BFP and then a CP and thinking it was my fault for flying long haul. is that horrible of me? anyway - really don't think i'm pg so i'm sure there is nothing to worry about anyway.

good luck with any other testers this week!!!

Kaloki · 29/01/2010 10:41

Congrats you two! That is fantastic news!!

lucielooo · 29/01/2010 10:55

Congratulations Addie and WorrisomeHeart ... More BFP's yay!!

chalky3 · 29/01/2010 11:22

Congratulations addie and worriesome that's great news!

Welcome FelicityFlick!

Lol at TMI from your mum LinzRed! capricorn, I think your 'friend' is best avoided. At least there's one thing you know she's not good at, being a caring, supportive friend. Don't let her get to you! DH and I argue lots and we've been together for 13 years so I wouldn't worry about that. I think couples who don't argue are weird!

Glad to hear you and DH are fine seablue. No experience of norethisterone, sorry.

kurlyvoice loving glee, I wish we had had clubs like that when I was at school! Liking 'gleeks' worriesome.

Enjoy the U.S kkas and don't worry, whatever happens it isn't your fault!

Bad luck AF getting you pidgin, roll on next month.

Not much to report here, been trying to do some BDing but not so easy to fit do with working shifts and having the decorators in, which is not a euphamism for AF in this case! We made the most of their lunchbreak yesterday though! This is the best time of the month, no AF and not on the 2WW yet and lots of fun to be had with DH!

Kaloki · 29/01/2010 11:29

I'm wondering how long it's going to take my body to settle down. I've gone from regular as clockwork 28 day cycles with guaranteed light 2 day periods with only cramping during ovulation. To no particular cycle length and what appears to be neverending heavy periods with cramps pretty much whenever.

How annoying.

seablue · 29/01/2010 11:37

So please for you worrisome and addie - that's fantastic.

addie Remember the flipside of the MC stats - it's always cheerier! If 1 in 4 end, then 3 in 4 stay.

Sorry AF flew in, pidgin.

I used to live in HK, felicity - I'm jealous! Though only for a year - I think I'd have found longer hard without more than taxi Cantonese (oh, and I can buy mangoes! not that I ever did, which is a bit of a melancholy though actually).

CD22 and not having any of that pesky bleeding yet... I keep having fantasies that this is because something has implanted and so everything's staying where it should be. Glad to know that there will be other Crazy Ladies with me when I knicker check! Still feeling a bit ropey, so I can dream that I'm feeling early symptoms rather than (clearly) the end of my cold!

Good luck to all testing this weekend!

claireinthecommunity · 29/01/2010 12:49

Wow Worrisome, that's fantastic news!!!! Congratulations Love the image of your test sat on your laptop

WhiteeRoses, yes I'm planning on testing tomorrow, I had a little amount of spotting first thing when I wiped () the same as yesterday but I didn't get anymore through the day.

Good to hear from you kkas, I was wondering how you were - enjoy your trip, see you soon

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 29/01/2010 13:09

Wow, well done Worrisome what a fantastic way to bugger up your appointment at the fertility clinic!

I would love to be joining you, but I am now pretty sure that the cramping is pre AF. But not to worry, Febrary is nearly here and that will be my month. I will bear all this in mind when timing my clinic referral appointments!

kkas enjoy your trip to the US and don't worry about testing. I think it does us good to take short break from monitoring our bodies occassionally. Anyway, February is going to be your month as well, so there's nothing to worry about at the moment.

Chalky enjoy the BDing! Lol at the thought of you and DH 'working around' the decorators!

Kaloki I don't think there is such a thing as regular, I think our bodies vary things according to whatever mood they happen to be in at the time! I hope things settle down soon.

pidgin sorry to hear AF got you. Retire to the sofa with wine and chocolate and indulge yourself for a bit. Then get ready for a shiney new cycle in what will be the incredibily lucky month of february!

Addie, have you got a stronger line yet?

Good luck to all coming up to testing. Can a suggest that you all exercise restraint and not test till Monday? I'm starting to worry that February might fail to live up to its billing as a bumper month. I think we may struggle to match the fantastic start to the year that we've had this month.

pixiestix · 29/01/2010 15:51

Congratulations Worrisome and Addie!! See you over on the graduates thread.

addie81 · 29/01/2010 17:25

Congratulations worriesome!

I got a "pregnant 1-2" on a clearblue digital this morning, and much more obvious positives on a clear blue non digital and a first response. I figured I might as well go ahead and blow my whole stock of pregnancy tests.

I will feel much more secure about the whole thing if the little pip manages to stay put for another few weeks. DH and I are really pleased though - If a little stunned.

I went for fertility investigations on Monday and will get the results next week. It will be a bit embarrassing to have to tell them that I am actually pregnant!

Good luck to the rest of you. I am sure there will be more BFP's to follow. A word of warning about the cheapo tests though - they are still showing me as negative when the posher ones are all clearly showing a positive and no sign of AF.

I tried to find the first time frolickers graduates thread but I couldn't find it - does anyone know what its called or what the link is?

xx

DrewsGirl · 29/01/2010 17:51

I havent been on since last weekend so much to catch up on!

Congratulations Addie & Worrisome

Welcome to the thread Linz, Lucie & Kurly

Hermya - I used the normal ov sticks and didnt get my surge i dont know if they arent as sensitive, i found CB digitals much better.

Zippys - How did it go on Thursday?

Capricorn - Some of DH friends wifes are a bit like that and as we move around a lot they are usually the only friends i make but they are people i have to like rather than want to like!

AF should of arrived on wednesday but am holding out to do a test because i dont want to get my hopes up, test then for AF to arrive 2days late! I am going out tonight and am going to drive so i dont have to drink (just incase!) CBFM turned up on Thursday so im hoping i wont even have to take it out of the wrapping!

maamalady · 29/01/2010 18:27

Congratulations Addie and Worrisome!

No news here yet, I am now on CD28 but have no clue of how long usual cycle length is, and what with this being the first cycle after the pill it could take ages for AF to turn up anyway. However, I am still getting hopeful, especially as this last week I have been feeling very mildly nauseous and have very tender nipples (sorry for TMI!)... Trying to convince myself that it is probably just AF on the way and not symptom spot too much. If no AF this week I will test next Saturday though!

Reading the Twilight books is a good way of distracting myself though!

WorrisomeHeart · 29/01/2010 18:36

Thanks for all the congrats everyone. Have been feeling more and more secure about it as the day has passed with no sign of bleeding. I am getting some light cramping but I figure that's more to do with the uterus stretching and the bean implanting than bad news. Have been peeing a lot and my boobs are getting more painful so that has to be a positive sign too. Funniest thing is that several close friends have been texting to say they're thinking of me and DH at the clinic and hoping all goes well! Very lovely but I need to think of a cover story... DH rang and got his results and (as you can probably guess..) they were all fine so he's walking around like Super-Stud at the moment - I think he's almost more excited about the good result than the BFP but that's probably slightly more tangible at this point!

Addie fab news about the further tests. I picked up a two-pack of CB digital and will be using both tomorrow am! Keep looking at my FR from this morning to check that the line is still there!!

Yorkshire TBH I've never been more sure of AF arriving than this month - so you never know! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

claire best of luck with testing tomorrow, lets hope you join the Jan list!

Drewsgirl I can't believe you've held off testing when AF is late! When do you think you'll break out the HPT's?

Kaloki I hope your cycles settle down soon.

God, sorry this is so long, maybe verbal diarrhea is a PG sign??!! Have a fantastic weekend everyone.

mumnerves · 29/01/2010 19:03

Wow! Addie and worrisome that's fantastic news!

Claire, it's sounding good! Good luck for tomorrow! x

NovemberAli · 29/01/2010 19:10

Congratulations Worrisome - I knew that temp spike was a good sign (I had exactly the same, as well as the cramping!)

Congratulations too Addie! I still have a stock of internet cheapy pg tests and have to confess to still trying one out occasionally when I'm starting to worry I've dreamed this whole pregnancy thing

Lets see if we can get one more BFP in before Feb!

addie81 · 29/01/2010 19:44

worriesome - I am also getting some very mild cramping. feels like minor period cramp. I have been having it for at least the last 24 hours with no bleeding. I am reassured to hear that you have the same thing. I also have sore boobs in a weird, heavy way. I agree with you - some implantation/uterus starting to stretch a bit cramping is inevitable. Hopefully we have nothing to worry about. Starting to get a little bit of nausea, particularly if I am hungry, but nothing too bad at all - I am hoping it won't get worse than this but obviously there is a good chance that it will as the HCG levels rise! are you on the grads thread worriesome? can you post the link? i can't find it. x

fudgecat · 29/01/2010 20:05

evening all its been a manic week and i feel really bad for not posting all week

first of all huge congratulations to Addie and worrisome lol at your DH walking about like a super-stud

welcome to FelicityFlick

sorry to hear AF got you pidgin but also understand about the feeling of relief and knowing you can relax for a few weeks without stressing about things

kkas hope your trip to America goes well

DrewsGirl 2 days late sounds promising, when are you planning on testing?

Not much news from me, its the start of "action week" so to speak we will hopefully aim for BD at least every other day, more if we are not to tired during the week
