Thanks for all my welcomes everyone!!

I would love to be added to the list although I am still not too sure what is going on with me.

I came off my pill in November (mid packet) in the hope of getting my cycles regular to start ttc from the new year. Had breakthrough bleed a few days after taking my last pill and then a 44 day cycle until my first 'real' period in December.

I am now on CD39 and desperate for AF to arrive so I can crack on and get trying again. I have taken two tests which have both been BFN but I don't have a clue when AF should be due or even if I have ovulated this month due to cycles still being irregular after the pill. I plan to test again tomorrow morning (CD40) if still no AF. I had had a lot of symptoms earlier on in the month and am still getting lots of CM and cramps but after two BFNs I am not hopeful and wish AF would just hurry up now!

When AF does arrive I plan to start temping this month and am also going to try some reflexology to try and regulate my cycles. I have also ordered some Agnus Castus off the internet so will be trying to regulate with a vengeance! All very frustrating at the min

So thats me at the min- stats:

Afternoon!
Everyone is so chatty on here, it's lovely to come home to and have a good read. I took my first step into TTC by buying a BBT thermometer from Boots and a whole host of vitamins, including some for DH although I'm not sure how he's going to take that... I think that my crazybabylady tendencies will fit in well here!
FelicityFlick, I might be bugging you for just-came-off-the-pill info, as I have no idea what my body is doing. But my main problem is that I have IBS which I'm trying to ignore in a prescription kind of way, but it plays havoc with my tummy and I never have any idea whether twinges and cramps and pains are that or AF rearing her ugly head. Anyone else had to deal with this?
On a non-baby note, I have all 7 boxsets of Buffy, having loved them as a teenager which was one of the few bonding points between my brother and I. And while I haven't seen the Twilight films, I have read all the books! What about Glee everyone?! And capricorn, she does sound like the kind of person that loads of people will dislike, so try to console yourself with being in the majority and being much better loved!

chancewouldbeafinething · 28/01/2010 16:31

I am having a sneaky afternoon off as I just had one of my wisdom teeth out (so if i sound crazier than normal i am blaming the drugs)

capricorn she sounds like a piece of work! you know i really believe people like that are usually only talking about how wonderful they are because they have low self esteem, like she needs you to be jealous of her or something...anyway just remember karma can be a bitch too!

linzred no it is not bad to take temp after DH is up...mine was completely freaked out by the beaping...not a good way to start the day! Good Luck

Thanks for keeping an eye on the list bunny and lol i hope the tennis does not go on for 5 sets!

HI FelicityFlick* hope you get a BFP or AF arrives soon.

Well an update on my overeating situation DH reminded me that I only had a crumpet for dinner on Tuesday so maybe that is why i was so hungry...it is possible i am going crazy symptom spotting but even if i am not it is too soon to test. Thanks for all the well wishes but i wont be testing for another week at least.

OK i think my mouth is still bleeding - need to go and clamp some cotton wads in there fast!

Hermya321 · 28/01/2010 19:56

Evening everybody! Well my brain feels like a cheese grater and I'm wondering if my OPK sticks are working or not. Ssooooo much information to take in at the moment, I come home and start revising. Stopped feeling crampy but still have nausea and I think I forgot how to spell at some point today so do forgive me. So how is everyone?

Capricorn You're more than welcome!! By the way, your arch nemesis sounds positively vile. Seriously a good marriage has conflict. The fact that you argue helps you to air your issues and helps the proces of communicating. Also a 2.1 is a 2.1 no matter what effort (or not) you put in. You should be proud of yourself. Uni's really hard and you obviously put the work in for it. She sounds as if she has some insecurity issues. Who goes around trying to one up themselves over other people? It's just not the way most people work.

Seablue Yeah I think I'm gonna do that, it's already getting on my nerves this whole 'have I or haven't I' everytime I POAS.

Lindz I am literally three days ahead of you cycle wise. I think you and me had the same thought within the space of a few days. Just tell him that you're doing it to keep a track of your cycle as it can get a bit skewiffy after coming off of the pill. If you are gonna hide it, make sure you buy one without a beep on it. Mines an alarm clock in itself.

Claire Ooooo I think my inner 'Crazybabylady' would be shouting the same thing. Also BDing away no matter what the damm stick says!!!

Kurly I love Glee, it's so funky!!

WorrisomeHeart · 28/01/2010 20:02

Hi all

I know I say this nearly everytime I post, but wow does this thread move quickly!! It's fab to catch up with you all so regularly.

whiteroses great to see you popping in - I was starting to wonder if everything was ok. I'll go and have a nosey on the antenatal thread to catch up with your news!

claire oh it sure sounds promising! I really hope that your BFP is just around the corner!

bunny fab work on the thread tidy/stalking!

felicityFlick & linzred welcome!

capricorn am completely about the Anti-CrazyBabyLady and her ipod/party antics, thats blinking awful!

seablue great news about the tests coming back ok. I was prescribed norethisterone when I wanted to delay AF for my wedding and honeymoon. I didn't end up taking it as my cycle went a bit wonky (probably due to prewedding hysteria!). I'm guessing it was at a lower dose than what you've been given as you don't want to delay AF...sorry that's probably not that helpful in the end is it!

yorkshire you never know, it could be a little bean really implanting deeply...

kurly I have to admit to a Twilight fetish also - love, love, love the books (but only in secret )! Also Glee is fab - my DH says I'm a Gleek which apparently is the new term!

chance hope the tooth feels better soon!

Well odd things are still happening with me. AF is due today but I had another temp spike this morning and no AF as yet... still feels very imminent though and I have turned into a major knicker-checker as I keep thinking 'oh here we go'. Typical, the one month when I want it to arrive on time (so that I can have the blood tests at the clinic tomorrow) and it's late! I'll POAS tomorrow am if it's still not here, however I doubt that'll be an issue.

I'll drop back in tomorrow and let you know how it went at the fertility clinic - wish us luck and have a great Friday all!

NovemberAli · 28/01/2010 20:39

Worrisome that temp spike sounds really promising, good luck with POAS tomorrow!

Crossing my fingers for you Claire, sounds like an encouraging bunch of symptoms.

FelicityFlick try not to get too stressed about your cycle at the moment (easier said than done I know!). Your body will take a little time to re-adjust and start regulating itself again. I was on the pill for 11 years and it took 6 months for my cycles to regulate again, I think this is pretty normal.

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 28/01/2010 20:43

Good luck at the clinic Worrisome. AF was late for me when I had a bllod test booked, but the surgery staff were really flexible and I managed to get an appointment on the day AF finally did arrive. With any luck though, AF won't arrive at all and you won't need the services of the fertility clinic at all!

Clare this CrazyBabyLady is also shouting "IMPLANTATION!" Sorry, we're probably not helping you to keep the craziness in check, but I am sooo optimistic about your symptoms and really want this to be the month you get your BFP.

Capricorn I agree with the other wise ladies here, your arch nemisis sounds horrid.

Lovely to hear from you WhiteRoses, I shall pop in on the other thread and see how you are all doing.

Am really hoping to be able to join the graduates soon, and I really hope the cramps are the little bean bedding in, but I don't think so. However, my first 2ww ends tomorrow as I have my appointment at teh docs to get my test results and find out what we do next. At least this way i should have the next steps planned when AF turns up, so it shouldn't be too gutting.

mumnerves · 28/01/2010 20:54

FelicityFlick Hi and welcome!

capricorn she sounds like a right moo! She must have pretty low self esteem if she feels she has to put you down all the time!

seablue glad the tests came back ok!

whiteroses lovely to hear from you, and glad it's going well

claire I'm so keeping my fingers crossed that it's implantation for you!

Yorkshire hope Af doesn't turn up tomorrow!

No symptom spotting today, actually quite calm, can't promise I won't be on boob watch when I'm in the bath later though!

addie81 · 28/01/2010 21:35

Well - I am AMAZED to report that I got two BFP's today! Both very faint, but very definitely there!
I have been using cheapie tests bought online for the last couple of days, but on the way home from work I bought a clearblue, which was had a very faint positive line, so then immediately went out again and bought a first response which also had a very faint positive. I am hoping for a more emphatic positive tomorrow with the first wee (TMI) of the morning, as this afternoon I drank A LOT of water before doing the tests as it was a bit of a spur of the moment decision to test!
For about the first hour or so I was beside myself with excitement. My husband is away overnight for work so I had to tell him over the phone, but he was delighted. I got my sister to come round and look at the tests to make sure I was not imagining it! Now my confidence has really dropped though -I am sure that I am pregnant, but am just so worried about having an MC. I think even if I get through a couple of weeks I will start to believe it a bit more, but at the moment I feel like AF will turn up, and I am gusset checking and obsessively trying to feel for period cramps. Basically, I have just gone from one type of craziness to another! No symptoms except for weird feeling boobs. Am crossing my fingers that it stays where it should do for the next 9 months - at the moment that seems like a long way off! xx

Hermya321 · 28/01/2010 21:41

Oh my gosh addis congratulations I bet you're well chugged.

Well ladies yet another BFP for the thread, feel like I need to get a move on now. Lol!!

bunnygirl80 · 28/01/2010 21:48

capricorn your arch-nemesis sounds like a complete and utter cow. Like hermya said, it's healthy to have a good row air differences in a marriage otherwise one person will probably end up resenting the other. Also, if she found getting a 2:1 so easy why didn't she get a 1st if she's so darn clever!

I really dislike her and I've never even met her! I've found that people who behave like that often have self esteem issues - she's probably jealous of you on some level and so has to make everything she does sound bigger and better than you to make herself feel better about herself.

Yorkshire I wish the list tidying was nesting - unlikely as I haven't even ov'd yet though! It's more a sign of slight ocd about lists - I always volunteered to do the rotas at work as I can't stand it when people do it differently to me. Hope AF stays away for you and good luck for your results.

claire I hope it is implantation for you

worrisome good luck with poas - hopefully you'll be able to cancel your appointment

seablue glad the tests came back ok

welcome FelicityFlick And thanks for declaring this your favourite thread - or were you just sucking up to us so we'd let you join?

Lucky for DH the tennis only lasted 4 sets so he didn't have to stay up too late to do his duty He did ask if it was the time in the month where bd counts....seems like he's starting to understand my cycles.

Got an email from one of my best friends this morning announcing the arrival of her second baby. The baby is sooooo cute but it made me feel quite that I won't get to meet her for a long long time as we live so far away now. Hopefully when we do see her I'll have a baby of my own too!

bunnygirl80 · 28/01/2010 22:07

Oh forgot to put in my last post - there was a big item on the news here last night saying that by the age of thiry a woman only has about 10% of her eggs left! Cue me thinking oh no, we've left it too late!

Luckily they had a nice doctor on (nice cos he's very easy on the eye!) explaining that we only release 450 in a lifetime, and 10% of the total that were formed is still hundreds of thousands, so there are still plenty left

OP posts:
claireinthecommunity · 28/01/2010 22:24

Congratulations addie that's fab news!!!

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 28/01/2010 22:51

Congratulations Addie, a line is a line is a line, even if its very faint.

So thrilled for you. Hopefully you'll get a nice firm line tomorrow and it will start to feel a little more real.

LinzRed · 29/01/2010 00:03

Where did the day go? Well thanks Yorkshire the whole AF thing was driving me mad. I'll just ask from now on! Lucieloo like you I'm trying not to freak out DH but it is hard.
Hermya I took your advice and told DH temp charting is to try to keep track due to effects pill can have on body. I note several people have mentioned cycle issues caused by pill. My doc told me not to worry (yeah right) as it's normal to take up to 6 months to settle down. I was off pill before for 4 months and no AF. I read today about Chaste Berry aka Vitex and studies seem to show it can kickstart OV. I'm going to try to get some tomorrow. Anyone else heard of this?
Funny story my brother is about to become a Dad and my father said to me last Sunday that when he and my Mum married she was told by all her friends that you had to stop the pill a year before you wanted a baby so she did and got pregnant straight away much to my Dads 'suprise'. TMI from parent but funny in an ironic way. So it's late and I'm ramblin. Please add me to list. TTC#1 Cycle 1 UCL? CD 8

LinzRed · 29/01/2010 00:10

Sorry I forgot to congratulate Addie during my late night ramble. I should be asleep. Goodnight all.

FelicityFlick · 29/01/2010 01:16

Morning everyone,

I am like bunnygirl and am not in the UK so have to do lots of catching up when I get to work and while you are all sleeping soundly! Bunny- It truly is my favourite and I know how you feel about being so far away from home at times. I am going to have to miss two of my good friend's weddings this year as i just can't get home for them and it makes me very

Congratulations Addie- Fantastic news!

Thanks NovemberAli for your advice on the pill. It's nice to know that other people are in the same situation. It's just so hard not to get stressed when I want everything to happen NOW! It's good to hear that you are all regulated now. Did you have some very long cycles when you first came off the pill too?

LinzRed and kurlyvoice we can share our 'just off the pill' worries as we all seem to be in the similar 'limbo land' situation. From my research Chaste Berry aka Vitex seems to be the same thing as Agnus Castus and I have just ordered some of that to get things going when AF eventually arrives! kurlyvoice feel free to ask away and I'll do my best to answer your Q's!

Hermya- I am definitely going to use your excuse when I start temping in an attempt to hide my craziness!

Thanks for the welcomes worrisome and chance and good luck with your poas and the fertility clinic worrisome.

So, I poas this morn and of course it was a BFN which takes me to CD40 now. I am trying ti remain calm as I know that stressing is the worst thing I can do but easier said than done!

Happy friday to you all!

PS. I also love Twighlight (Team Edward- I seem to be in the minority though?) and I am a huge Glee fan! We are only episode two out here though- I think youa re a bit further ahead in the UK aren't you?

bunnygirl80 · 29/01/2010 02:42

Oooops x-posts with Addie Congratulations - I hope your line keeps getting stronger

Linz - There are plenty of threads on here about Agnus Castus. I've heard plenty of people use it to regulate their cycles and to increase a short luteal phase BUT it's important not to take it after ov as it can cause problems in early pg. Probably worth combining it with temping or some method of pinpointing ov so you know when to stop it each month.

The other popular supplement for cycle regualtion is vit B6 - easier to do as you can take it throughout your cycle. I considered taking them as my first 2 cycles off the pill had very short luteal phase, but they seem to be regulating themselves now so didn't bother in the end.

FelicityFlick - whereabouts in the world are you? I had wondered if you were outside the UK as you seem to post around the same times as me when the rest of this lot should be safely tucked up in bed

Thanks for doing that bunny- I am excited to be on the list and hope it brings me some luck. Thanks for the info on vit B6 too.

I'm in Hong Kong. Where abouts are you? It's nice to have someone awake during the same hours as me! We can give the others some reading to catch up on for when they wake up!

bunnygirl80 · 29/01/2010 04:27

FelicityFlick I'm in Sydney. It's nice to have someone that posts at the same time as me. It usually takes me ages to catch up on all the activity on here, and then when I post something, no-one replies for hours cos they're all in bed!

OP posts:
FelicityFlick · 29/01/2010 05:43

How long have you been in Sydney bunny or have you always lived there? I have been in HK since August and think I am just about used to it. We visited Sydney in October and it was lovely. It was my first time in Oz and I thought it was such a chilled place.

WorrisomeHeart · 29/01/2010 06:51

Well, it's Friday morning, birds are chirping, sun will be shining when it wakes up and I've got a faint BFP!!!!!!!!!!

Am in complete and utter disbelief, I still can't quite believe it and at the moment have the test resting on the laptop so I can keep checking it. I honestly didn't expect it - have felt (and still do feel) like AF is on it's way, but a positive is a positive right? I feel weird - but I don't know how much of that is the whole 'OMG' factor.

So in terms of the clinic, DH stll wants to go and get his boys tested (weirdo emoticon) but I'm going to cancel our consultation and he'll call for the results. Am also going to go and get a whole load of tests and do about 10 tomorrow with FMU!

Right, back to the real world - brilliant news addie!

Calyx · 29/01/2010 07:13

Ooooohhhh CONGRATULATIONS Addie and WorrisomeHeart and BEST OF LUCK with testing again (although of course you'll both get HUGE THICK lines on your tests today!) So Worrisome, the best way to get pg is obviously to set up fertility tests LOL I'm so pleased for both of you!

That's the good karma I've been sending out... I'm sure it'll get to everyone in time
