LADIES!!!

Wow- what an exciting evening of MNetting for me to miss last night. That will teach me to go for a run. I knew exercise was bad, you miss out on all the cyber goss!

YORKSHIRE SOOOOOOO thrilled for you. Amazingly fantastic news. Yay and the BFP def belongs to lucky Feb! How are you feeling today? Has it sunk in at all?

and it is looking so good for mumnerves (when will you test?) and evilgiraffe, are you still planning on re- testing after 'squash gate' on Sunday?

aries- I will not ask you as I know you are determined not to test and I am very jealous of your will power but it is Thursday or Friday when you plan to test right? is your dh back now? mine came back on Sunday night and my cats were all over him. I thought of you! Dh tells me that I am to 'desperate' for their attention and that I give off desperate vibes to the, so they go to someone who is not that fussed about them eg him.

Talking of husbands being away... how are you getting on bellaby (on the cat theme Bellaby is one of my cats many nicknames- her name is Zelda but she has millions of nicknames!)without your dh? I am liking the sound of your dinner in bed! You can't expect to be healthy when your dh is away,It's all aboutthe comfort food! Write this week off and start again next week!
I have also been watching 'One Born every Minute' on download and I feel the same as you Hermya- I really want to do hypnobirthing when the time comes.

Bunny you must be so thrilled that your stuff has arrived! It was like Christmas when ours arrived.I made dh take pics as it was such a momentous occasion in my life! There were was so much stuff that I had forgotten I even owned. It was lovely to get all my photos and bits and pieces back to make our place feel really homely. There was also a lot of crap that we had packed and I remember thinking why on earth dod we bring that?! You'll have to let me know whether that happens to you too. Have you actually got the boxes home yet?

Kurly and homebound- are you me?!! I was/am going through the same frustrations as you. Desperate for af to begin so I could take some action! I came off my pill in November, had breakthrough bleed and then first proper af 41 days after that. Then it was 57 days until my next one in which time I went officially mad. I sooooo feel your pain. Now on cycle 3 off the pill and day 16 and am doing the following; charting temperature, taking agnus castus, and viatamin B6. Also taking Evening primrose oil and drinking grapefruit juice to encourage EWCM. Some (my dh included) may think I have gone over the top. I prefer to think of my self as pro active!! AND... I am not actually ttc at the min. Just desperate to get myself regulated! I have accupuncture/reflexology up my sleeve for when I begin ttc in July again. Talk about crazy baby lady!

Hi and welcome to biscuitbreaker too

Pidgin · 02/03/2010 07:23

hello ladies!

So frustrating - I just wrote a massive long post and then my laptop hibernated (I know how it feels) and it's disappeared. All I really wanted to say was thank you to everyone for your congratulations and kind words. The support and help I've received on this thread have made a real difference to me and I'm very grateful for it - you guys have kept me sane frankly!

And massive congratulations to Yorkshire - brilliant news, I'm really pleased for you.

Good luck to everyone waiting to test - sorry to hear about your bfn claire.

Will hang round here a bit and lurk if you don't mind! (& will also try to find the grads thread)

maamalady · 02/03/2010 07:55

Yorkshire - fantastic news! Congratulations!

Will drop in again later, need to go to work now...

Bellaby · 02/03/2010 07:55

Morning All

FelicityFlick - thank you for checking on me. I managed to sleep a lot better last night than Sunday. Probably because I set the alarm so that gave me some comfort. I should actually be at work now but I'm still in bed - just so comfortable. Ooops - boss is not going to be happy with me.

Pidgin - do continue to lurk. The more the merrier in here and we need some seasoned professionals to guide us

I'm just watching the stats and wondering why the days are going so slowly and like so many on here wondering when first AF will show. I have no doubt I'll be at the top of the list for a while when I get there!

Have a lovely day all - let's hope it brings more exciting news like yesterday's excitement and that March is as successful as February was.

Bella xxx

pixiestix · 02/03/2010 08:20

Yorkshire, OMG!!!! Congratulations!!! I'm so pleased for you!

And I can't believe that, yet again, the elusive BFP has arrived just as the fertility investigations were about to up a gear. Its mad!

Fab news - get over to the grads thread!! And that applies to you too Pidgin!!

mumnerves · 02/03/2010 08:23

Yorkshire congrats!!! That's just brightened my morning up!

Did 2 tests BFN

Just told myself off, I think the anchovies are just my warped sense of taste and I probably have a cold.
Have a good day everyone!!

zippys · 02/03/2010 08:36

Morning everyone,

CONGRATULATIONS Yorkshire,

I echo Bunny's comments, your BFP has been one of the landmark ones (sorry everyone else), you have given others so much support and you deserved your BFP so much. Goes to show all those months ago when you said Feb would be your month, you were right
I also think we should all consider fertility treatment as that seems a sure set way to a BFP!! I am keeping everything crossed for you that this is sticky bean

Claire hope you are ok after your horrible period, I would go get it checked out as it will just pray on your mind otherwise. At least you can start SWI earlier

Mumnerves - just seen your posts - sorry it was a BFN but Yorkshire and others have had BFN before a BFP. Although I know that wont be much consolation right now.

Giraffe I am impressed with your resovle, I find some months I want to test as early as I can and then other want to hold onto the hope I may be pregnant for a little longer!

Pidgin - I am sorry I dont think I have posted since you got your BFP - so huge congrats to you too. Has it sunk in yet?

Homebound have you been back to the docs regarding your cycle as I would see if there is anything they can do, it must horrible for you in this kind of limbo

Bunny and Calligraphy I know what you mean about boob size, although I am already a 34G so I think I may actually go off the chart when pregnant

Sorry for anyone I missed.

Quick update from me, still sick, if anything getting worse, but still going for various consultant appointments and tests, so hopefully I will have an answer soon. After my SWI at start of fertile period it tailed off toward the end so if I am due a short cycle then timing was right if not then not much chance of a BFP this month. At moment being good and not symptom spotting as I am putting anything strange down as sickness related anyway.

Hope you all have a lovely day x

Hermya321 · 02/03/2010 08:42

Yorkshire OMG!!! Congratulations!!!!!! Thats so so cool!!!!!!!

Right this is for Pidgin as well here's the grads thread

I woke up this morning and panicked because I didn't feel sick and then worried myself silly for twenty minutes. I then ate my breakfast and well nausea abounds. Sorry for TMI. Did anyone hear about Kristian Digdy, the 'Buy or Not To Buy' guy. I loved him, poor thing.

Felicity I don't think you're going OTT, at the end of the day you want your cycle back to normal. I did the same as you in order to try and give myself some clue as to what was happening down there. I didn't do the agnes caster though, I think I would have done if I hadn't have gotten preggers. I think the whole hypnobirthing things just allows you to relax a lot more and feel a smidgen more in control, which is a good thing.

Bunny Your stuff has arrived, I bet you can't wait to put it up.

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 02/03/2010 09:09

Thanks ladies,

Bunny and zippys you've made me well up a little. Really hope you guys are not far behind. I know every BFP is special and I'm always thrilled when people on here get theirs, but I think it's extra special when its been a long time coming. Here's hoping that some of you old timers who've been at it for ages get yours soon. For all of you in or approaching double figures for cycles, I reccommend making initial appointments with the GP. Starting fertility investigations can have unexpected consequences!!

Mumnerves, try not to worry, it isn't over till AF actually arrives. I got a BFN when one day late, BFP at two, so the margins are quite small.

Giraffe am impressed with your resolve. I think there is a lot to be said for waiting until you are actually late before testing. Early testing almost inevitibily leads to a BFN (which isn't always an accurate reflection of the true state of things! ).

I don't think I'm actually psychic as my conviction that February would be my month was based on a couple of very practical factors. Last Monday marked 27 weeks in my new job - which is the minimum time you need to be in post to qualify for maternity leave. Although I moved from one NHS employer to another, so it counts as continuous employment, I always thought it would be less rude if I managed at least a year in post before going off on mat leave, so the 27 week target was one of my milestones. I also finished paying off a cople of loans in February, which puts us in a position to start saving (or at least pay for all the decorating that now needs to be done in a very short space of time).

Well, I suppose I'd best attempt to get on with some work. I keep thinking my colleagues must be able to guess that I'm pregnant cos I must have some pregnancy glow about me. They might be able to tell by the cheesy grin that is permanently attached to my face! It's going to be difficult keeping this quiet, but I do want to try and go a few weeks before letting it leak out. I'm too crap at keeping secrets to last until 12 weeks, but I want to be sure this bean is sticking before it gets round at work.

Hope you don't mind bunny, but I've taken the liberty of tampering with the stats slightly. This BFP is definately a Febuary one!

I read about Kristian Digby this morning too Hermya and instantly started blubbing. He was one of my favourite presenters, so kind and funny. So sad.

Having said that, Husband came downstairs yesterday and found me crying my eyes out during "Primary Geography" because they showed the Sea Empress oil disaster and all the poor seabirds covered with oil. I was in floods. Hmmmm.

claireinthecommunity · 02/03/2010 13:35

Very short post from me, just came on to read through really, no time to post properly, but, just wanted to say that I'm loving the 29th Feb BFP date Yorkshire

Hello to everyone else, should be back on later

Muser · 02/03/2010 13:40

Just popping in to say a huge congrats to YorkshireTeaDrinker and all the other BFPs.

I will be back First Time Frolicking in a few months, once I'm given the all clear after my ectopic. Will this thread be empty by then?

Bellaby · 02/03/2010 14:14

Muser I'm sure I will still be here so you & I can hang out then

I was wondering the same myself - our list is getting smaller by the day.

chalky3 · 02/03/2010 14:20

Yay Yorkshire, our senior BDer has graduated! The impending trip to the fertility clinic must have done it, so pleased for you! The timing with the maternity leave allowance is so perfect too

Sorry about your extra long cycles homebound, hope things settle down soon.

mumsnerves, anchovies and chocolate?! Noo! Sorry about BFN.

Glad you're getting your stuff bunny, will make you feel more at 'home'.

Aries stay strong re not testing. Crying at kids geography programmes, hope it's baby hormones causing that!

zippys 34G Hope you get an answer about your sickness soon, at least it's not affecting your sex life too much!

Think I might have spoiled our baby making attempts yesterday. Kind of jumped DH when he got home from work but he was not amused. 'But we have to, it's that time of the month' scared him I think! He gave in eventually though I think a more subtle approach may be in order next month!

WhiteRoses · 02/03/2010 17:28

Just quickly stopping by and I'm SOO glad I did! Hurrah for Yorkshire! Didn't you say all along that February would be your lucky month?! I REALLY couldn't be happier for you though. Really. You deserve this SO much.

Zippys - you might know I've had really bad morning sickness (been hospitalised twice for it). Anyway, on Saturday, I bought "Sea Bands" from Boots. My midwife recommended them. Anyway. They don't look much. About £8 for two little wooly wrist bands with little plastic buttons on. You put the bands on in a certain postion (it's all to do with acupressure) and it's meant to help nausea. Anyway, I was pretty sceptical but desperate... Have only been sick twice since Saturday, and both times, the bands had slipped round and were in the wrong position! I can't believe how well I've been feeling and I don't think it's just due to approaching the twelve week mark, because, as I say, both times that the bands slipped, I threw up... Thought you might be interested? I know it probably won't work for everyone, but it certainly worked for me!

In other news, I had my scan today, and my due date's been changed again, this time to September 15th. Scan was REALLY amazing! Everything feels so real now. So I'm on a bit of a high, preparing to shout "I'm having a baby" from the rooftops, as soon as the appropriate friends and relatives have all been informed!

Anyway, sorry this is a bit of a quick post, missing people out - hope you're all well and good luck to all those testing! Who's next for a BFP? Zippys, Chalky, Kkas..?

Mumsnerves, sorry to hear of your BFNs, but as Zippy said, others have had BFNs followed by a BFP - still in with a chance.

Zippys, your sickness must be horrid, I really hope the consultants figure reasons why soon. WhiteRoses could be onto something there to help.

WhiteRoses, so pleased to hear about your scan . The bands for your sickness sound fab - let's hope they can help Zips a bit too!

Yorkshire, still so pleased for you, It really seems to have come at a great time in terms of work and your mat pay (obviously you would've been pleased at anytime - but, ykwim)

Ooh Aries, feeling emotional and teary, eh?!! Keep us posted.

Muser, so good to see you again I'm sure there will be a frolickers thread, of course all currently on the trying list will have got there BFPs and you will be able to join all the newbies on the list!! No, really, some us us will still be here and graduates like WhiteRoses pop back on from time to time, so I'm sure you'll have lots of company - See you soon

Chalky, there's a fine line isn't there?! TTC sex can feel a little stifled at times.

Bellaby, what you watching tonight then?!

maamalady · 02/03/2010 18:59

Aww, mumnerves, shame about the BFN

Still no AF here, so unless something appears in the night I will be testing first thing in the morning. I shall make sure I drink a fair amount tonight so I have plenty of pee tomorrow!

Fantastic news about the scan, WhiteRoses - I bet it was really exciting!

claireinthecommunity · 02/03/2010 19:09

Ooh, exciting stuff evilgiraffe

mumnerves · 02/03/2010 20:23

Evening all!
Thank you for all the supportive messages, sorry about the abrupt post this morning but was rushing to work and just wanted to update!

Not much to report today, still stuffy nose, no nose bleeds just spotting. Still no sign of AF even though I feel like it's going to turn up any minute. I did notice my hair has gotten extremely greasy even though I washed it 2 days ago

bunnygirl80 Glad your move went ok. I'm an E cup and have been made to promise to some friends that when I decide to get preggers( they don't know we're TTC) I will have to update them on the boob growth! lol!

Yorkshire I echo what Bunnygirl has said, you really do deserve this BFP as you've been so supportive of everyone! Thanks for the 'it ain't over till AF arrives' it's made me feel more positive! I'm now 2 days late, and I'm NEVER late, usually early! So will re-test in 2 days if still no AF

whiteroses sorry to hear about your nausea. I use those bands for travel sickness and found them pretty good too! How exciting it must be to get a scan and share it with others!

evilgiraffe good luck! Don't drink too much, I had a big cuppa last night and woke up to pee, so part of me is wondering if the morning pee was 'diluted' and hence no BFP (sorry if TMI)Let us know ASAP

luckyseven · 02/03/2010 20:27

Can i join you? I saw the crazy baby lady description and thought yep that's me - although trying to be a more laid back crazy baby lady this month if that is possible!

Anyway i joined last week and am hoping this month will be lucky number 7 for us hence the name ... luckyseven TTC#1 Cycle 7 UCL25-26 CD11

My best friend is the only person who knows we are ttc so for my sanity I think this thread could be good for me and it beats doing the ironing!

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 02/03/2010 20:51

Evening all,

Thanks for all your kind words. It's so great to be able to share the excitement with you all (especially since DH has decreed that we can't tell anyone until after the first midwife appointment). I'm still a bit dazed and confused - can't really believe its all happened (I now have three tests lined up in the bathroom - I think I may use up all my stash of ebay cheapies on daily testing, just to reassure myself that's its true and I am actually pregnant!).

Our appointment at the doctors was brief, but successful. Instead of getting a referal to the fertility unit, I've got one to the community midwife. First appointment is 22nd April. I have to try and keep our news to myself until then! I think it might be a challenge keeping it from my mum, but I'll try.

calligraphy I didn't do much symptom spotting this month (had sort of abandoned hope, to be honest) but there were definately symptoms to be spotted. I had a very brief, light bleed at 5dpo (or possiblity 7dpo - ovulation was difficult to pinpoint this month) plus mild cramping around the same time. The past four days I have had cramping and incredibly tender boobs (which are getting larger). Both of which can be signs of AF, so I wasn't particularly excied by my symptoms. However, what made me test last night was the absense of AF - 2 days overdue. There is no better symptom!!

Muser great to hear from you. Hope you'll be ready to start trying again soon. There will always be plenty of first-timers here, and this graduate will definately be popping back often.

Whiteroses great news about the scan - it must be a relief to be able to go public at last. Glad to hear the sickness bands are working.

zippys really hope the medics can get to the bottom of your sickness soon.

Evilgiraffe sounds promising - there's no better sign than a late AF. Mumnerves I wouldn't give up yet, whilst there no AF, there's hope. make sure you've at least two varieties of tests in, for cross-checking / verification purposes!

Right, best wind up now. Need to be in position for One Born every Minute - should be interesting viewing this week!!

mumnerves · 02/03/2010 21:06

luckyseven welcome to the crazy baby lady thread!

Yorkshire I've only just discovered one born every minute and am watching catch up(first episode) now! Pretty scary and emotional stuff!

Bellaby · 02/03/2010 21:48

Evening All

Evilgiraffe - getting very excited about this....

luckyseven -welcome to the group. It sure does beat ironing!

Just got home from playing tennis and having dinner in bed again. This time it's just lettuce & salad cream - not very exciting. However had a client lunch and gorged myself on burger & chips from GBK!

No television for me tonight Claire - just checking on everyone here then bed for me. Am recording the Channel 4 programme so planning on TV nights on Thurs & Fri. Also just go the latest series of The Unit through so will start watching that.

Does anyone ever wonder if they actually know someone else in this chat room but not know it?
