Could be, you never know - will definitely not do another one until Weds at the earliest, although irrational brain says to POAS every half hour until AF arrives...

claireinthecommunity · 28/02/2010 16:03

Afternoon all, I'm still in my pjs

I had a very odd experience early this morning - woke up at dawn to find DH wasn't in bed, lay there for a while before deciding I needed the loo, pulled back the covers (tmi alert) and my knickers and thighs were covered in blood!! Quick rush to the loo (noticing on the way that DH is on the sofa, he has had trouble sleeping the last few nights, so all clear there) Get to the bathroom, have a wee, toilet full of blood and again much too much information, but, a very large blood clot comes out, so large I could feel it Now, I do usually get blood clots during AF, but nothing as big as this and I certainly never wake up to something as messy as that

I went straight on line to research possibilities, and found there could be all sorts of reasons why, some to worry about and some not (I stopped after about 20 minutes, too many scare stories)

I have a routine check up with my Gp in a couple of weeks, so will talk to her about it then, but thought I would share it with you all first. Period is still very heavy now.

Sorry to hear AF got you kaloki and calligraphy.

Good to have you back kkas

I hope AF stays away for you evilgiraffe.

seablue · 28/02/2010 16:46

Hi claire that sounds really grim. Are you ok? Your scary Internet searching will have suggested more than I could come up with, but as af was early too do you think it's worth going to gp sooner just to make sure you shouldn't follow this up in the next few days? But it was probably just a crazy period. Take some iron if you are bleeding more heavily than usual. Poor you. Hope it eases soon.

pidgin congrats! Believe it girl!

I feel bad about worrying about Good NEws on fri because friend in fact told me shed had another
mc last week. Lifes a bit rubbish sometimes isn't it. She's being very brave about it. We had a Mexican stand off situation because she thought I was going to impart Glad Tidings as well, especially as dh came along for an hour at the beginning. She didn't want to tell him about mc so all rather tense until he left, I ordered a glass of wine, she did the same and we both got the giggles. Think we will have to invent some code! A good friend left me a voicemail with her news and in fact perhaps that's quite cunning as it doesn't put anyone on the spot? Or build up expectations when you meet?

Just putting off all those weekend chores now. Must Hoover the stairs the place looks like a crack den.

No symptoms of any kind. Spotting did go away for a couple of days, but then back after bd this am. Hmmm. so just waiting for the witch. Though I bought a new pair of jeans and a dress yesterday. A sure fire conception aid surely?!

claireinthecommunity · 28/02/2010 17:03

Thankyou seablue, I am thinking about making an earlier appointment next week now.

Horrible news re your friend, but I did also giggle about the wine ordering and giggling between the two of you TTC really does bring out all sorts of emotions.

One of my pre AF signs was that I cleaned the whole place the other day, I may be grumpy and still in my pjs at nearly five o'clock, but I do have shiny surfaces

Lol at your clothes purchases, I've been tending to buy stuff when AF arrives (justifying it by gaining an extra month or so of wear out of the item) I am however drawn to empire lines and slightly baggy tops at the mo

Hope she stays away for you seablue.

Bellaby · 28/02/2010 21:28

Evening All

Kaloki and Calligraphy - sorry about AF

Claire - I echo seablue -better to see the doctor sooner rather than later just to put your mind at rest. Poor you

Pidgin - wonderful news. Many many congrats

evilgiraffe - sorry to hear the BFN. Fingers crossed for you.

DH has gone away for a week today. I drove him to the airport at lunchtime only to find his flight had been cancelled until tomorrow. Airline putting him up in the hotel next to the airport so I dropped him there. Then figured it was too good an opportunity to miss so pounced for a last bit of BDing!

Think more BDing is definitely a good side effect of TTC! Helps that we have a new rule about not wearing any clothes in bed!

So I'm now stuck all alone for a week. Hate being on my own and I'm a wimp when it comes to being in the house at night - get scared at the slightest sound.

Just watching a rerun of the Channel 4 baby programme. Still can't decide if it excites or terrifies me.

Have a lovely week ladies

claireinthecommunity · 28/02/2010 21:44

Bellaby, we would have done exactly the same thing given the chance

I think I'd feel lonely if my DH was away for a week, you can always come on MN and have a chat. We've just watched Larkrise to Candleford and it'll probably be back to back C.S.I from here till bedtime

I'm still thinking about making an earlier appointment with my GP, but feel she'll just right it off as a heavy period and send me off feeling like a crazy baby lady!!

kurlyvoice · 28/02/2010 21:54

Girls, I spent a part of yesterday evening composing a very long message (on my mobile phone and therefore surreptitiously as the in-laws are here to stay so have not had time to get to the computer until now) about the fact that AF seemed to have FINALLY arrived. And then my phone closed down the internet, I lost it all, and didn't have the heart to do it all over again.

However, I have actually only had evidence of it in two wipe-and-look situations yesterday (apologies for TMI), with nothing making it further than that and absolutely nothing today. ARGH! And what is worse is that I set a 7am alarm for myself this morning (and woke up a few times before in anticipation) so that I could take my temperature and get charting, and I DIDN'T BLOODY NEED TO. But I have had what feels like premenstrual cramps since last night (rather than my IBS flaring up) and a sore back, which were about my only symptoms pre-pill...

All I want is to get over AF#1 so that
a) I can get onto the stats list
b) we can SWI
c) I can do things like survive my first 2ww and get a chart completed on FF.
Silly things I know, especially as I'm trying desperately not to expect a BFP in the first few months, but I'm feeling rather like the last person to the party who is constantly playing catchup!

Anyway, enough about me, and I am so sorry for ranting but, as much as my dearest and most-baby-mad DH tries to understand and listen, he just doesn't get it.

I have been keeping in touch with everyone's highs and lows over the past week - and have been feeling all of them with you - but had a crazy week back at school, with the evenings being taken up with frantic cleaning/tidying/open evenings/taking-parents-out-for-dinner and am feeling very bad for not having kept in touch with everyone.

So my commiserations go to calligraphy, kaloki and claire, for AF's unwelcome appearance, and am wishing you all Christmas/New Year babies.

As for pidgin, I hope that your BFP is confirmed after a weekend of revelry, and we'll just have to see what happens with yours in a few days, evilgiraffe. My fingers - and other appendages - are crossed for you.

Welcome to biscuit and any other newbies who I haven't yet said hello to [gives everyone a hearty post-Wii-Sports wave] and hope that we all have a good first week of March. Despite what my FIL says, I am determined to view tomorrow and onwards as SPRING!

Bellaby · 28/02/2010 21:58

claire - is that series any good. I've been recording it but haven't yet watched it.

claireinthecommunity · 28/02/2010 22:42

Bellaby, to be honest, I'm a bit tired of C.S.I now, our own fault really, we 'found' it a month or so ago and have since been watching all three of the new series together with catching up with all three of the repeats from last season - a bit of an overload! And now that Damages series 3 has just started being screened, I feel that C.S.I's appeal has been and gone. Damages I would recommend, we missed the first series, caught the second and were so impressed we bought the first series and watched it prior to this third being shown now. (yes I/we do watch an incredible amount of tv - I'm a bad influence on DH, I've always been a big tv fan ). Out of the three C.S.I's I would probably say that New York was my favourite, followed by the orignal C.S.I and then Miami. Hope you are ok on your own and enjoying your evening of tv

Kurly, my last two AF have had stuttery starts, annoying isn't it when you just want it to get on with it, so you can just, well, get on with it!

I'm sorry I forgot to say hello to any newbies earlier - Hello

bunnygirl80 · 28/02/2010 23:19

Claire With bleeding that heavy it's probably worth getting in to see your GP just in case there is something that needs attention.

My mum and dad love CSI - I've never really watched it but I do have the CSI game on my Wii. I love those sort of problem solving games.

Kurly it's so frustrating when AF doesn't happen as you'd expect. Are you going to test if she doesn't arrive fully in the next couple of days? I know I shouldn't try and get your hopes up, but I've got my fingers crossed you won't need your thermometer

Bellaby I've been watching one born every minute on 4OD. Mostly I think I'm deluding myself as I watch it thinking I'll never scream/moan that much when I'm in labour. I just hope DH is more useful than most of the men featured - they all either look terrified or make obnoxious comments

I had a big pile of ironing to do this morning so I decided to watch Marley and Me for the first time while I was doing it. Big mistake - I never realised that film was so sad. I struggled to see the what I was doing through the tears and they kept sploshing onto all of the clothes and making them all wet! I don't even like dogs so had stupidly thought there was nooooooo way I'd get all emotional about one in a film

OP posts:
Bellaby · 28/02/2010 23:20

Claire - so good to meet another tv addict. I could talk about them for hours. DH & I watch so many tv series. We usually wait to get them on DVD as we don't have the patience to wait a week betweeen each episode. We just finished 2 really good ones - Fringe and True Blood - can highly recommend both. My alltime favourites probably The Wire and Lost. CSI is probably one of the few we've not seen so we might give New York a try. Damages is very good.

Right I really must get to sleep - well past my bedtime.

claireinthecommunity · 28/02/2010 23:42

Ok bunny, maybe I should then, it has lessoned of a little now though. I don't think I know about Marley and Me, certainly haven't seen it - who's in it?

Bellaby, I should think that each separate series of C.S.I is well worth watching in there own right, we've just over egged it I get what you mean about not having the patience to wait a week before the next episode, we got through Damages series one on dvd in a week or so - so addictive!

bunnygirl80 · 01/03/2010 00:28

claire Marley and Me has Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson in it. I always thought it would be a bit rubbish as it is a film about a dog - really not my usual cup of tea- but I'd heard lots of good reports and it was on TV. It follows the lives of a young married couple as they buy a dog, start a family, change jobs etc. Of course dogs don't live as long as humans....... One of those films where not much really happens, but maybe that's why it's so emotional as it's just our own lives can be. I'm welling up again just typing about it........maybe this is a symptom!!!

Morning all, still nothing to report here - day 31 of 28! It is a mysterious state of limbo...

chalky3 · 01/03/2010 10:23

Congratulations pidgin, great news! Also glad to hear you had no symptoms, maybe we can all stop torturing ourselves!

Welcome to the madness biscuitbreaker!

Sorry about AF Kaloki, don't throw your phone!

Sorry to read about your testing confusion and AF calligraphy, maybe you'll get a baby for Christmas though!

Sorry about BFN evilgiraffe

Watching you kurleyvoice! It's awful waiting isn't it, you just want to know either way.

bunny Lol at your MIL! Love that you're worried about telling your mum when you get a BFP, my mum is quite upfront about sex related stuff but I still feel like an embarrassed teenager whenever she talks about it! Nooo to Ampersand for a baby name! I still haven't watched Marley and Me because I have the book and know I will go to pieces, losing a pet is so sad.

Aries how's the symptom spotting going? Have you managed to retain some self control?!

Kaloki have you figured out what the whistle is for yet? Maybe to summon DH to your boudoir when it's BDing time!

Aries, I'm hoping for bigger boobs too. I got totally ripped off genetically, my Mum is a D cup and my sister an E cup. I got A cup boobs, no fair! Would put up with morning sickness for some curves! Could your symptoms possibly be PMT or hopefully, PreBFP? Your cat sounds mean, she will regret biting you when you have a baby to cuddle instead.

Love how you got rid of the hideous plates seablue! Shame about your friends news.

Lol at forgetting how to drive Hermya, at least you have a good reason why!

Glad you had a good holiday kkas, maybe the relaxation will have done the trick this month!

Chance lol at your Dad! Myabe it was an attempt to be exempted from hanging washing out!

Claire sorry about your assault from Af. NEVER try to find out about stuff like that on the internet, it's too scary! Maybe you shoud get checked out though if that's unusual if only to put your mind at rest.

Bellaby, come on here if you don't like being alone, someone will be lurking ready for a chat! Like the impromptu use of the hotel room!

Thankyou for all your kind words ladies when I was feeling down. Full of energy and raring to go today which makes me feel a whole lot more positive about everything. I don't get it though as I've had a really busy weekend at work. All I can think is that I must need an energy boost right now as it's ov time! Tum has been a bit achy since yesterday and EWCM has made an appearance. DH better brace himself when he gets in from work!
Nose bleeds and strange cat behaviour, new symptoms to spot!

Ariesgirl · 01/03/2010 10:44

Hi Chalky, what a marathon post. Symptom spotting has lost its out of control momentum and have decided that it's probably PMT + virus. But will let you know either way. At any rate, I've decided not to be a tester - will just wait each time Completely know where you're coming from re: the boobs. I inherited my mum's A-team status and my sister's a 34DD. This caused me SO much bitterness growing up! Still does if truth be told . The cat, despite being the light of my life, is pretty much indifferent to me, but that's cats for you.

chalky3 · 01/03/2010 11:40

Sorry for such a long post, lots to catch up on over the last few days! Forgot to mention that DH and I have been together 13 years today (if you're interested!) It's definitely about time we had a baby to show for it! I honestly think people have decided we don't want or can't have children, not that it's their business. I never did understand the pressure on us to do so when I was only 20 though, I would have thought it was the end of the world back then, how things change!

Ariesgirl · 01/03/2010 11:54

Congrats. Thirteen years - wow! We've been together ten years and sometimes it feels like a lifetime and sometimes it feels like it's flown by. "Do you have children?" 'No." "Why not?" "Get lost!" Hopefully that will change this year of both of us.

Bellaby · 01/03/2010 13:02

chalky - many congrats on the time achievement. Let's hope your celebrations for the lucky 13 mean this is your time!

You also win the award for the most comprehensive post - please tell me you take notes whn you are readig what everyone has written!

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 01/03/2010 14:02

Afternoon all,

Loads to catch up on (just read 4 pages of updates). Congratulations Pidgin, that's great news.

Fingers crossed AF stays away evilgiraffe and you eventually get a BFP.

Commiserations to calligraphy, kaloki and claire, for AF's unwelcome appearance. Clare, it sounds that your AF is sufficiently unusual to merit a trip to the drs. You may just get told its one of those things, but I think there's nothing wrong with seeking reassurance.

Good luck with the test avoidance Aries. It's so difficult to do, but we'll save ourselves a lot of dissappointment if we can avoid early testing.

Hope everyone is well and not absessing over symptoms too much. I've had a pretty busy week with work, then family visits at the weekend, so this is my first time online for a week. News from me is that our appointment at the GPs last week has been rescheduled to tomorrow (owning to my work schedule changing on Monday). Others news of note is that I am on CD31, which is the longest cycle length I've had since starting to chart. I had some bleeding at 5 days past ovulation and have had cramps and a very sore bosom all weekend. Probably signs of impending AF, but enough to inspire mild hope - I tested yesterday - BFN

claireinthecommunity · 01/03/2010 15:47

Bunny, thank you for the synopsis, If I see it's on tv I'll give it a go

Chalky, you're absolutely right about not researching that sort of stuff online - very scary!! And congratulations on the thirteen years together

Yorkshire, sorry about the BFN - keep us posted.

I think I'm having the shortest AF of my life, started Sat, had bloodbath Sunday morning and seems to be on it's way now. I've decided not to make an earlier appointment with my Dr, but mention it when I see her in a couple of weeks. It seems to have been an incredibly condensed AF, and as I have not had any more pain/cramps than usual, I don't feel concerned anymore.

Evilgiraffe, have everything crossed
