Hello - May I join?
Have been lurking for a while. AF is due next Thurs (I think). I have had some period pain-like twinges, so don't think I will have any good news this month. Am feeling very very emotional about it and a bit weepy.

kkas · 27/02/2010 12:45

hi guys - i haven't had a chance to catch up on all i've missed yet but just wanted to let you know i'm back from marrakech. what a great place! i would recommend it to everyone!!!! and timing for bd was very good so i am very hopeful. won't find out for another 10 days or so whether we were successful but am really keeping my fingers crossed hope you're all doing well. i'll try to catch up over the next few days

claireinthecommunity · 27/02/2010 12:51

Hello all

I've had such a busy week work wise that I haven't been on for a while.

Huge congrats to Pidgin

And Calligraphy, things are sounding promising if a little confusing for you - all the best

Lot's of us coming up to that time, unfortunately, AF has arrived early for me and I'm CD1 today meaning this cycle was 28 days long whereas last cycle was 33 days - at least I'll be at the DTD stage sooner now [trying to stay positive emoticon]

Great to hear about the start of your natural AF sevans

Good luck and everything crossed for all those coming up to testing, I should be around a bit more this coming week.

WhiteRoses · 27/02/2010 12:57

Just been having a very quick skim through the thread, cause I haven't been on in a while...

Pidgin - congratulations! Have you been over to the Graduates thread yet? If not, hope to see you there soon!

Aries - I'm 10wks and 5days pregnant today and my boobs are STILL just "there", doing absolutely nothing! Same size/colour/shape. Not itchy, sensitive, painful... Nothing. When I got my BFP, my only symptom was feeling like I'd esten too much. Since then, I've had all sorts - heartburn, sore back, cramping, EXTREME tiredness, bloating, very bad sickness, my brain's gone to mush... My boobs seem to be the only part of me that's stayed the same! So fingers crossed for you! Oh... Just thought of another... Had a bit more CM than normal before and since getting BFP (Calyx! ;))

Kaloki - have you not done another test since the BFN? Are you going to? Is that not you late now?

Chalky - I'm so sorry to hear you're feeling down. Reading your post though, I was thinking about Fullham (is that who it was?! ) booking her holiday and getting her BFP... Also, Ozzie getting hers at Christmas, on cycle 9, when she really was at the end of her tether with it all... It WILL be you soon. It's so hard, I know, when it's all you can think about, but it is still early days... As you say, the doctor's not even interested in talking to you about it yet. You are NOT abnormal! It is "only" cycle 7. [hug]

Bunny - :O at your MIL! How awful! Reminds me of my most cringe-worthy experience though... On honeymoon, DH and I borrowed a suitcase from my parents. When we were coming home, we had finished packing, and I realised DH had put our leftover condoms in the hand luggage. I was worried about getting stopped and searched, so suggested he put them in the main case. Unknown to me, instead of opening the case up, he zipped them into a tiny little outside pocket. Fast-forward to us getting home. (You know where this is going, don't you?!) I unpacked the case and didn't think to check the outside pocket (cause it was tiny - didn't think anything would fit into it!) DH then came home, saw empty case, and delivered it back to my parents... A few days later, we realised, and, when we got the chance, down in their house the following weekend, I snuck upstairs to where the case was kept and checked the pocket, with the intention of taking back the condoms... The entire case was empty! We have never mentioned it and my parents have never mentioned it. I don't want to think about what happened to those condoms! I blame DH, he blames me, but generally, we just try and not to ever, ever think about it!

Oh, and congratulations to Honeymoo too, if she happens to check back.

Sevans - sounds odd, but I'm so glad to hear about AF. It's about time something went right for you. x

Calligraphy - very exciting! Hope to see you over on Graaduates soon too!

Bunny - sounds like you had a lovely evening with DH. We did that on Valentine's Day - just sat and talked. It was lovely cause it had been so long since we'd done that. Often doing nothing is the nicest thing of all.

Hi Biscuit.

...Oh well, turns out I did have time to catch up properly! Hurrah! Feel like I've been totally neglecting everything lately! DH, friends, family, housework (my washing basket is literally overflowing!), Mumsnet..! I've just been working, eating and sleeping. Throwing up every so often too! Can't wait for the next week to pass. That'll be me into the second trimester and hopefully a tad more energetic! Lol!

WhiteRoses · 27/02/2010 12:58

Claire - cross post... Sorry to hear about AF. x

Ariesgirl · 27/02/2010 13:50

Actually I'm now starting to incline towards the "I've got some kind of virus" opinion. There's no way I'd get up duff first month of really properly seriously trying. Whatever I do in life it's a tortuous and agonising route so this clearly won't be any different!

chancewouldbeafinething · 27/02/2010 13:55

HI All

Just a quick one to say Congrats to pidgin

Good luck to all who are coming up to test, its sounding promising...this must be the valentines babies then?

bunny LOL at your MIL, my dad did something worse...i think. When we stay with them my mum ALWAYS sneaks in and picks up our washing and then puts it back clean and folded in the evening (I know good service isnt it, she even irons DH boxers!) however dad was hanging it out on the washing line one day ...picture this he is in the back yard...mum and sister inside..he gets to my underwear and yells out (top of voice) 'Judith where am i supposed to put the peg?' mum and sis were rotfl and could not answer for a while...i can imagine that the elderly neighbours would have loved that one!

kaloki MIL can always be trusted to bring useless crap cant they....maybe she thought you could use the whistle for training DH to run around after you?

I am 8 weeks today, and have my booking appointment with the MW on Monday - time seems to be moving so slowly though.

Catch up with you soon xxxxx

Kaloki · 27/02/2010 15:27

So AF turned up, along with PMT, and cramps. And the computer broke (am using my phone). And DP is fussing. I feel ready to scream and throw things

FelicityFlick · 27/02/2010 15:56

Kaloki xxxxxxxxx

Ariesgirl · 27/02/2010 16:22

I echo that Flick

maamalady · 27/02/2010 16:30

Aww, Kaloki

No news here, no sign of AF as yet today. I am trying not to get my hopes up - one day late is hardly unusual...

haloflo · 27/02/2010 16:57

Firstly I'm really sorry to hear about arrival of AF for Kaloki and Claire and any one else I've missed or hasn't been on. I know im new but I'm a constant lurker.

I'm right in the middle of the crucial part of the cycle and things seem to be going ok. Somehow taking things a bit more seriously this month and actually thinking about timing hasn't meant an increase in BD during the crucial time, only at the start of my cycle when we first excited by it all!

This is making me anxious which doesn't help get us in the mood. Also I worry my DP is getting sick of the "right we need to do it then, then & then"

I felt a bit weird on thursday and friday days with pre AF symptons (back pain, cramping) and also nausea. I was wondering if this means I ovuluated then (Hope not as we didn't SWI those days!). I keep googling ovulation symtoms and can't see much about this. It still seems a bit early though according to most things ive read so maybe im just going mad.

Are you testing soon evilgiraffe or do you prefer to wait?

It appears most of the list are late & I would love to see some more BPFs, it really puts a smile on my face.

Hermya321 · 27/02/2010 17:14

Awww Kaloki I'm so sorry. xxxx

Hi fellow Crazy baby ladeees!
I am just SO mad at DH, he managed to break the internet and only got us back online tonight!!! I've been on my 2ww and NEEDED MN! I've been driving myself mad wondering if anymore BFPs were waiting to be read about!!

Well, tomorrow is day 28 of my cycle, so far no AF hit yet, and no temp dip. BUT no symptoms either?!! I felt a bit quesy on fri when I smelt someones too strong perfume, but nothing unusual. boobies the same. The only other thing is that I'm getting tired really early and going to bed earlier than usual. but that could be jet lag too If I don't get a temp dip tomorrow morning, I may succumb and test so please keep your fingers crossed for me!

Chance: I'm under no illusion that I'm either glamorous or rich enough to pull off calling my child the name of a place, besides, can you imagine standing at a playground calling thailand out?? lol!

felicityflick : went back to work on tuesday, wish I were still on holiday

Chalky thanks for the wishes!

Aries I think the fact that you even care whether you'll be a good mum or not shows you'll be a pretty decent one! Better than someone going into it with their eyes shut, there's never a good time and we all learn somehow. It never fails to amaze me how much some people drink! I don't think your PIL think they are doing anything wrong, but it's loads and I don't know how they can afford it too!

pidgin congrats! and lol at the incident in the supermarket!

biscuitbreaker hello and welcome!

kaloki caligraphy82 and claire sorry AF hit you

bunnygirl80 · 27/02/2010 23:22

Welcome biscuit Whiteroses and chance nice to see you're still checking up on us.

Roses at least your parents knew you were being careful! Although it's probably best not to think about where the condoms ended up!!

Chance Lol at you dad struggling with your undies. My situation would have been far worse if it had been FIL! Are you still thinking of moving back to Sydney...I wonder if we'd recognise each other as Crazy Baby Ladies if we passed in the street?!

Why do mums like to iron boxers - MIL has been ironing DH's while she's been here. Clearly I'm a bad wife for not doing it! Or am I the only person in the world who doesn't iron their underwear

kaloki, claire and calligraphy sorry about AF

Aries is your cat always a bitch or is this out of character for her? I only ask as I've heard lots of stories about people's first pg sign being strange behaviour from their cats!

Felicity Thanks for doing the list - it's nice to get the day off! Hope you had fun at looking at wedding dresses

Halo I know what you mean about getting fed up of dtd at particular times. I've gone for the just do it when we feel like it approach this month. I think we've actually done more SWI than when I was planning it

kkas glad you had a good holiday

We went to the beach yesterday. We spent half an hour wrestling with our beach tent trying to put it up in a strong wind. We then sat in it for about 20 mins before we decided that it was pointless as it was so windy if either one of us had got out of it it would have blown away. So we spent another half an hour putting it away. And I got sand in the picnic I'd made. Still better than being in the cold and the rain though

Mumnerves - my PIL are pretty wealthy and they spend spend spend! Never give a penny to us. Bastards [plots their demise whilst cackling]

Interesting thoughts about the cat Bunny. But I'm afraid she's always a bitch to me especially this weekend when Husband - who she blatantly prefers - is away, and she's only got the wicked stepmother to feed her at 6am, scrape the shit out of her tray (wearing gloves of course), dash round the house trailing string while she looks uninterestedly on yawning, and combs her looking for fleas (why would a cat have fleas in a house with no central heating after the coldest winter in a million years. WHY, LORD?? They must be some extra hardy mutant variety. Just my luck). Sorry, I digress.

mumnerves · 28/02/2010 12:15

Ariesgirl lol at you planning their demise! can I help? it'll take my mind off my 2ww

Ok so I took my temp this morning and the first one was a low temp but really really quick, just about 1-2 secs after I put the thermometer in my mouth. So I decided after a bit of cussing to do it again twice and both times my temp was up. Anyway, I'm confused again but it's only 11 dpo so I've decided not to get my hopes up. I'm going to wait a couple more days, besides, AF could arrive tomorrow!

Only unusual thing to report today is I had a nose bleed, I NEVER have nose bleeds!

I've been snacking a lot, am a moody cow and boobies are a bit sore but that's normal PMS for me

Anyone out there testing this weekend then?

No sign of AF for me and am now day 30 when UCL 28. Am trying not to get hopes up as "UCL" is really the length of time between post-pill withdrawal and first real AF - so hardly a definite length! On the other hand, before I went on the pill in the first place I was always very regular, so who knows.

DH has convinced me to test, so I've just had two pints of squash and am waiting for it to filter through...

I am 90% sure it will be a BFN, but the other 10% of me is bouncing up and down with excitement... I will report back as soon as I've done the test!

FelicityFlick · 28/02/2010 13:09

I won't be able to go to bed evilgiraffe until I hear back from you! You have a three hour window... go, go, go! xxx

Sensible real-life part of my brain is right again - BFN Still no sign of AF so just waiting now.

FelicityFlick · 28/02/2010 13:33

I don't want to get your hopes up giraffe but maybe it's BFN because your wee was diluted by the two pints of squash? I think you should test again (with fmu) on weds if still no af. xxx
