Wow--AF has arrived. Today is seven weeks since my surgery. This is totally unexpected! For those of you that are newer to this thread, I didn't get a period for three months after I got off the pill and had to take medication to force my period to start! So strange starting on my own! Anyway, thought I would share that since I haven't been able to share much lately!

Any updates whiteroses?

Kaloki · 23/02/2010 23:42

Well that's got to be a good sign hasn't it sevans?

FelicityFlick · 24/02/2010 02:36

Thats great news sevans- I think I will join you in mostly updating about my cycle seeing as I am not ttc anymore at the min.

I am very impressed kaloki- not long until the best date now. One week left... If you can make it past the weekend then I reckon you'll be home dry!

How are you Yorkshire?

Hope you're feeling better whiteroses and that the tea and sweets will help you through the day. Been lurking on the graduates thread but feel like a fraud posting there so thought I'd do it here so you can see if you're lurking over here.

Any news on AF Kurly?

Morning, thought I would quickly update the list as I havent done it for ages.

Sevans that great about your period arriving, hopefully this will be a sign that it is going to be plain sailing from now on. You certainly deserve it right now.

Aries I too echo other comments, you are getting yourself prepared by coming on here and just because you are busy doesnt mean you cant be great parents

WHiteroses so sorry to hear you have been back in hospital, hope you and your little bean are doing ok

Felicity I think you are being really generous to put your TTC on hold for a friends wedding, I dont think I could do it. But as the others have said glad you are going to stick around.

Kaloki - is it today you are testing? Keeping my fingers and everything else crossed for you. I know how your feel when I was late at new year I didnt want to test as I just wanted to hope for a little bit longer!

Chalky and seablue and I agree work stress cant be helping me TTC but I asked my doc and he said that stress is over hyped with fertility, people just expect to get pregnant really quick whereas anything up a year is normal and doesnt suggest any problems - although that doesnt make it any easier does it!

Pidgin I would go to the docs if I were you, even if it is just to be told everything is ok, it will put your mind at rest.

Evilgiraffe any symptoms yet? I hope you are there boob jiggling

[wave back to Pixie ] - how are you?

Mumnerves glad to hear you had a good holiday - I could do with one at the moment, but got the brochure out last weekend so just need to decide when and where. Try not to get too disheartened as OPK's arent always right - and the number of people that get pregnant on holiday seems really high (infact shall we add that to Bunny's stats)so you never know.

Yorkshire how did it go at the docs yesterday? - Hope everything went well x

Sorry for anyone I have missed

Quick update from me, was due to ovulate last night but with the sickness and everything else the focus has been taken off a little (I am sure it will come back in 2ww). I have tried to change my attitude around sex at the moment. We had got into a rut with quick baby making sex and I could see our sex life taking a dive because of it so this month I have not thought about TTC as much and we have much better sex and we have bd'd every night so far that I have been fertile instead of every other as normal.

Update on sickness - still sick doctors still very confused but have hospital appointment next week so will keep you updated. I know I have said it before but I just want to thank you all again for being here through all of this. I have had some really really down days over the last couple of weeks and seeing all your lovely posts have really helped xxx

Right really better get back to work now as this was only meant to be a quick post!!!

zippys · 24/02/2010 08:25

sorry Bunny cross post as my post was so long!!

bunnygirl80 · 24/02/2010 08:35

So, I'm back from work in the land of no internet....I really don't understand how people up there survive - even if I could get online it would be dial up rather than broadband

Felicity I'm glad you're sticking around even if you're taking a break from TTC. I feel your pain about the waiting period on health insurance. We managed to find a policy with a special offer so the wait is only 6 months, which is nearly up now. I could get free treatment here, but I've seen the maternity unit at the local private hospital and it's amazing. They even have double beds there so DH can stay after the birth - I don't see why he should get to escape for a full night's sleep when it's me that will have done all of the hard work

kaloki fingers crossed for when you do test

Yorkshire hsve you had your results from the doctor yet?

sevans I'm glad to see you're still lurking. And well done on getting AF - hopefully it's a sign that your body is recovering well which should make it quick when you are ready to TTC again

Hello to everybody else - sorry I haven't done inividual messages to everyone but this rthread moves so fast I can't keep up without taking notes

I'm in the SWI phase - or I will be once I actually see DH. No idea what cd I'm on but have some EWCM and am feeling horny so ov must be just around the corner. Will have to jump DH when he gets home

OP posts:
Kaloki · 24/02/2010 10:25

I gave in and tested. BFN

Ariesgirl · 24/02/2010 10:29

Aaah, Kaloki what a pisser. Sorry to hear that. Why are women's bodies so weird? Why do animals have it so easy?

Hermya321 · 24/02/2010 11:18

Kaloki I'm so sorry, has AF shown up yet?

Kaloki · 24/02/2010 11:45

Not yet, so keeping fingers crossed. Put a bit of a downer on the day though

Hermya321 · 24/02/2010 12:17

Kaloki I'm sorry you're on a bit of a downer, are you still having symptons at all? I'm praying that AF leaves you well alone though.

addie81 · 24/02/2010 12:21

Kaloki did you use a proper test or an internet cheapie? I only got BFPs with clearblue digital and first response (I am now almost 8 weeks pregnant). The internet cheapies I bought from Amazon were still showing BFN's a couple of weeks ago when I checked out of interest and then threw the rest of them out!!! I had assumed that the cheapies did just the same thing as the more expensive ones from boots - in my experience however, they don't!!! If AF doesn't turn up try a different test. Good luck.

maamalady · 24/02/2010 12:41

Aww, sorry about that Kaloki

Nothing to report from me - no symptoms, no PMT, nothing! So I am in limbo at the minute! I am finding it easier this month though - last month I was terrible for symptom-spotting and was half-convinced I was pregnant, whereas this month I genuinely have no idea, which is much easier to deal with! Roll on the weekend

FelicityFlick · 24/02/2010 13:52

It's not over until AF appears Kaloki I totally know how you feel.

Evilgriaffe..... Sounds very interesting.....

Handy to know about the internet cheapies Addie- glad all is going well for you!

chalky3 · 24/02/2010 14:33

Sorry about BFN Kaloki.

Fingers crossed for you evilgiraffe!

chancewouldbeafinething · 24/02/2010 16:09

kaloki sorry feel bad for making you symptom spot...but no AF yet, it might have been a false negative.

Good luck for anyone else testing

pixiestix · 24/02/2010 16:33

Aww Kaloki - that sucks But as the others have said, where there is no AF, there is still hope.

Sevans - thats great news about AF, hopefully your body is going to be functioning spectacularly from now on in!

Zippys - sorry to hear that the sickness is still going on, but great news about the BD'ing Even if you don't get a BFP out of this, that kind of thing has to put a smile on a girls face!!

chalky3 · 24/02/2010 20:49

Good luck with the docs zippys, I really hope they find an answer this time!

Having a down day about TTC. I've been talking over some things with friends that we would like to do this summer. It's great to have things to look forward to but it started me thinking about TTC as pregnancy might affect some of our plans (most friends don't know about us though). I can't help thinking that we won't have had any baby making success by the summer. I don't know why but I'm convinced that it won't happen within a year, which was how long the doc said to try before coming to see them. DH says not to be silly, it will happen and to try to stop worrying about it. However, we actually had a conversation about adoption the other day! I wish it was easy to pretend that it doesn't matter so much and just relax about it all, but it's hard.
Sorry for whinging on but I never thought it would be so difficult to get nature to take it's course!

Kaloki · 24/02/2010 21:06

I know how you feel chalky, hang in there!

seablue · 24/02/2010 22:59

Sorry about the bfn kaloki. If it's true hope af turns up soon rather than keeping you in hope. chalky it's not been too long yet. Don't lose hope!

Feeling down too as have started spotting on dp0 6. Surely not even time to implant yet so maybe there's still hope! I'll pretend it's implantation for a while!

Goodnight. Here's to a brighter tomorrow!

bunnygirl80 · 24/02/2010 23:52

kaloki sorry about the BFN

chalky your DH is right - keep positive, it will happen for you. Booking a trip with your friends that would be completely inappropriate if you are pg is bound to get you your BFP....especially if you have paid a non-refundable deposit

I forgot to update on the MIL visit when I posted yesterday - thanks everyone for asking how we were getting on! It was fine until she wanted to do some laundry - she didn't have enough for a full load so asked if we had anything that could go in the machine as well. I just brought our laundry basket down so I could sort it into the machine, but she got to it while my back was turned. I'd forgotten that some of my "special" BD underwear was in there until she pulled it out.

She could have kept quiet and put it in the machine, but that's really not her style. So she held it up for all to see and said "OMG bunny, what on earth is this, it's so tiny it barely covers anything at all".

Needless to say I almost died of embarrassment - I don't think I'll ever be able to look her in the eye again!

OP posts:
Pidgin · 25/02/2010 07:08

bunny! Hilarious that she held it up 'for all to see' - couldn't she just have bundled it into the machine?!

seablue sorry to hear about your spotting. I'm trying to pretend mine is implantation too, as it started for one day and has now stopped for a day. It did that last month too though. Still, you never know! (straw-clutching...)

sorry to hear you've been feeling down chalky. I know what you mean about summer plans - we have a couple of weddings to go to and I keep wondering if I'll be pg by then ... I know it doesn't always help but your dh is right, there's no reason to feel pessimistic - it's just human nature though, I guess.

kaloki boo hiss to your bfn. Will have fingers crossed for you.

Nice to have an update zippys - hope the sickness gets sorted out and all goes well for you.

and sevans glad to hear about your period coming - that's got to be a good sign?

I'm expecting a longer than usual cycle today as ov was a couple of days late - so cycle will probably be 31 days, I'm guessing. We're going away for the weekend, hopefully that will stop me testing early like last month ...

Nearly Friday!
