Hiya again people

Well I think me and DH managed to DTD around the right time this month, temp shot up this morning and we've been, er, romantic a lot this past week so fingers are crossed! 2WW now... where's the fast forward button!

Ariesgirl I do my temps in celsius and the charts work the same. My thermometer does either. I hate the loud BEEEEEP BEEEEEP it does when your temp is ready, always worry about waking up DH, but he says he's never noticed it. I do it at 6.30 when I wake and at the weekends I set the alarm an hour later, take my temp, bung it in the iphone charting app and then go straight back to sleep so it's really not too bad! Although your EWCM and twinge sounds very ovulatory so my money's on yes, you probably ovulated

Well done to chalky's DH for his new job! Great news!

Hermya321 · 19/02/2010 16:15

Chalky Well done to your DH re the job, you must be over the moon!!!!

Kaloki Am nearly off my seat with anticipation!!!!

Bunny Hows the MIL's trip going??

Calyx Fingers and toes crossed for you!!!

Hermya321 · 19/02/2010 16:17

Oh and even though my Doctor was really 'meh' about my impending state of Motherhood, my dentist was over the moon!!! It was really nice actually!

Kaloki · 19/02/2010 16:32

Haha, patience dear Hermya!

I'm not due till next week anyway

Has it sunk in yet?

seablue · 19/02/2010 16:49

Hello everyone! I have been on a course in a corner of the countryside completely bypassed by the digital revolution, hence it taking this long to say - congratulations hermya!!

I think GPs are trained to manage expectations nowadays, as everyone I know who is pregnant (and that's a LOT of women, she said, wearily) has had the same "don't count your chickens" response. But we can all be over the moon for you!!!!

fudgecat - hope the cramping is everything making room for an invader and not AF.

Hello again capricorn76 (another 33 year old, I'm guessing ?). Really good luck with your IUI - do let us know how it goes - sounds as if you're doing everyting right.

And congrats to chalky's DH - that must be such a relief. I worry that stress is an issue for us too (ironically) but try to console myself with the fact that people do get pregnant in stressful situations too - all those wartime babies... Saying that, DH had some time off at the end of last week and it did make me remember what life was like when he didn't work 24/7 and how that feels like a much more likely conception environment. Ah well. We made the most of it by BDing 4 times this week. Think I ovulated last night, but will have a last hurrah this evening just in case

Totally know what you mean ariesgirl about having had enough (and lol at yorkshire's sleep sex!) - I avoided POAS to confirm ovulation this month, which did help it all feel less scheduled, but still! Going to try to continue next week rather than shutting up shop once the SWI is over...

kaloki - ??????? But I'm not going to encourage you...

WhiteRoses · 19/02/2010 17:05

Lurking again, but just wanted to say congratulations to Chalky's DH. A huge weight off, I'm sure.

And Calyx - glad to hear about the temperature spike. All the worrying over Valentine's was for nothing!

Capricorn - best of luck next week.

And Fudgecat - not wanting to put pressure on you but... ??? (I won't say it! Good luck though! )

Everyone else - hi, and sorry for missing you out. I am keeping up to date with the thread by reading through posts regularly, but I just don't have the time for individual replies any more... I blame it on the baby. It's completely draining me! Of energy and everything else! (The midwife called it a "parasite" today! Lol!)

Bellaby · 19/02/2010 18:26

Evening All

Thanks Kurlyvoice and Kaloki - now I know if I see EWCM it's time to start SWI

Lots of finger (and toe crossing) going on in this room at the moment - Feburary has clearly been an amorous month.

So my new discovery for today is learning that lubricants can affect those little swimmers and slow them down! There is one brand that comes out better in tests than others

Off to Portugal this weekend for a wedding. Think leting the hair down is further up the agenda than BDing but we shall see...

Have a good one xxx

Kaloki · 19/02/2010 20:39

I've been feeling nauseous (sp?) all day on and off. Combined with the boob changes I'm wondering if it is just a stomach bug. Can't find anything to say how common morning sickness is this early on.

fudgecat · 19/02/2010 20:46

just tested.....

...

BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kaloki · 19/02/2010 20:47

First to reply again! Yay fudgecat congratulations, can you rub some of your luck off on me for next week?

Hermya321 · 19/02/2010 21:45

Fudgecat CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats so so cool!!!!! See you on the graduates thread!!!

Kaloki What cycle day are you on? If it helps (trying not to get you to sympton spot) I had nausea from day one, fun times! It has sunk in and have gone from shock to terrified that something bads going to happen. But I think thats something that everyone has.

maamalady · 19/02/2010 21:49

Congratulations fudgecat! Fantastic news!

Hobnob76 · 19/02/2010 21:50

Hello! Thought I'd sneak in for a little lurk!

Fudgecat Huge congrats!

Kaloki I also had nausea before I tested and lots of boob changes, bigger and covered in bright blue veins!

It seems like ages ago that I was in here, but its only just over a month ago, time seems to have dragged since I got my + test. I'm going to be 9 wks on Sunday, have been feeling and being sick for what feels like yonks now. I still can't quite believe its real either, that I'm going to be someone's mum.

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 19/02/2010 22:31

Hurrah! Congratulations fudgecat!!

Kaloki · 19/02/2010 22:47

I'm CD24, so feeling hopeful. DP's face lit up when I said I'd felt sick all day, not the reaction you'd usually expect lol

Ariesgirl · 19/02/2010 22:49

Congratulations. Hope it all goes well

bunnygirl80 · 19/02/2010 23:09

Yay congratulations fudgecat

I knew my urge to chant test test test was worthwhile

Congratulations fudgecat fantastic news!

Calyx · 20/02/2010 02:56

Woo hoo yayyyy fudgecat CONGRATULATIONS well done! Go February!

Hermya321 · 20/02/2010 05:52

Kaloki Awww thats so sweet, I'll be putting in a word with the big man upstairs if you don't mind me doing so. Heres hoping for another BFP for you!!! This is so exciting.

How is everybody else today?

Pidgin · 20/02/2010 07:15

woohoo fudgecat! Wonderful news I'm very happy for you.

and greetings to Hobnob - sorry to hear you've been sick, and hope it clears up in the next couple of weeks. Do keep coming back and updating us. Nice to hear from you too WhiteRoses, and don't worry about the individual updates!

As others have said ariesgirl that definitely sounds like ovulation, and if you have such clear symptoms and regular cycles then maybe there's no need to bother with temping. The good thing about temping - I've found - is that the temp rise is a really obvious sign of ov, whereas EWCM can vary and you might misdiagnose twinges or not get them every month? I do my chart in celsius, put the details in my phone and then use fertility friend to update it - it did take a while to get the hang of it, but now it is second nature. I also don't do mine at exactly the same time each day (usually within half an hour or so) - you still get a recognisable pattern.

All well with me - 5DPO so it's too early to symptom spot - except that I'd slightly rather be asleep right now...

I will probably be awol for a few days as am out all day tomorrow then off to work in the town the internet forgot next week. I expect the grads list to be even longer when I get back!

OP posts:
YorkshireTeaDrinker · 20/02/2010 10:31

Morning all,

I'm feeling a bit sleepy this morning after staying up into the small hours watching the womens' skeleton bob. Every Olympics I get incredibily excited by a range of sports that I've hardly heard of! Still, anything that takes my mind of symptom spotting.

Splendid news for Fudgecat, hopefully kaloki will be joining the grads list soon as well. Your symptoms sound hopeful. Any plans to test?

capricorn good news about the IUI. I hope all goes well. Are you on clomid as well? My cousin's wife has recently given birth to twins concieved via IUI, so my personal sample of one couple has had a 100% success rate!!

bunny hope the MIL visit is going well.

Congratualtions to Chalky's DH. I'm sure that's going to help you feel a little less stressed (which should help in the quest for a BFP).

We have another appointment with the GP on Tuesday, when hopefully I will get the results of my blood retest and we'll get our referral to the fertility unit. I'm getting fed up with the waiting - just want to get on to the next stage and sort out whatever it is that is holding us up.

kurlyvoice · 20/02/2010 10:38

Congratulations fudgecat! Wooooooooo! Have you done a CB digi test to see it in writing!?!

Kaloki, here's hoping and fingers-crossing for you next. And so "sweet" of your DP to be pleased to hear that you were feeling sick...!

Lovely to hear from the grads, although obviously not so good on the MS front. I'm sure it'll clear up soon. But I'm so sad about sparkly.

Good luck to capricorn with the IUI, you must let us know how it is going but remember that we'll all be thinking about you and hoping for a BFP.

And well done to chalky's DH on his job - definitely a weight off your mind, and hopefully a little something to spur you on to SWI .

Nothing to report from me. Day 48 since stopping the pill and still nothing. Is it silly to want AF to arrive just to give me some indication that my body is working?

fudgecat · 20/02/2010 11:18

Morning all

I just wanted to thank you all for your messages of congratulations and for all of the support you have given me. It has been so nice to have you lot to talk to I still don?t think it has sunk in yet tho and i am still half expecting AF to show up

kaloki sending you lots of luck for next week ? remember my 1st symptom was being 100% convinced i wasn?t pregnant ?LOL

Hobnob 9 weeks tomorrow ? WOW - do you feel any different?

bunnygirl thank you for adding me to the graduates list... it seems really odd to see myself there

yorkshire good luck for Tuesday

Kurly i used a superdrug cheepo test. Off to the supermarket in a bit so may get a CB digital and see what that says
