Totally not unreasonable, Calyx, silly man! Happens to all of us occasionally, though.

Bellaby - I'm not a seasoned TTCer (yet), but I came off the pill at the start of January. The first cycle I had was 28 days (just call me Mrs Average), and I'm now on my second cycle (first "real" one I suppose). AF only lasted for one day which was a bit strange, but I'm expecting the next one to be a bit more normal. I was always very regular before I went on the pill, but it's been about nine years since I started, so who knows!

Ariesgirl · 13/02/2010 14:46

Calyx, not unreasonable at all. I'm was in the same boat last night (only not I must say, quite as frustrating), he came home from work and I was all frisky and he was all tired. As we're on a mega budget and poor as chruch mice at the moment, the usual Fri night ensued of watching TV (no wine to alleviate it even!) and then I suggested an early night and he fell stright to sleep then had to get up early for more work. I thought, as a bloke, he would be up for it all the time. Dammit I'd even shaved my legs! Now I'm working it all off by housework and leering at the rugby. Huge sigh. (And we're only one month into all this milarkey)

By the way is anyone else's wee neon glow in the dark yellow after popping B vitamin supps? Tis quite startling!

claireinthecommunity · 13/02/2010 15:27

Just a quickie from me, wanted to wish kkas good luck with 'undie-gate' tomorrow

Hope you all have a good weekend

NovemberAli · 13/02/2010 15:34

Congratulations Hermya! Fingers crossed for more BFPs racked up before the month is out!

FlyingCat · 13/02/2010 17:43

Hi, I'm another newby to this forum but have been lurking in the background for a while. A huge congratulations to Hermya - I had my fingers crossed for you and cried when I read about your BFP.

Hubby and I have been TTC for 22 months now - and just got courage up to go talk to the doctor about it this month. Bloods and semen analysis are being processed.

But for some reason I feel really positive this month. I'm on CD28 of a 30 day cycle and I've been symptom spotting like a crazy person... I've had mild cramps from about CD 22 which is definitely unusual for me and (what may or may not be symptoms... haven't read about it anyway) constipation, and been feeling unexpectedly elated and happy for the last few days when normally I'd be feeling grumpy and snappy due to PMT.

So I am currently thinking either something is up or I have a stomach upset. Knowing my luck the latter. Oh well it takes my mind off the tests anyway.

Definitely hoping there's a chance.

Sorry for a really long first post, but also have a question... anmybody know whether flying is bad in very early pregnancy... only i have a work trip involving five longhaul flights from monday and I'm nervous cos that's the day when I'll be either expecting AF or testing. Anyone heard anything about it?

aly323 · 13/02/2010 18:12

Yay!! Hermya passed the test that REALLY counts! The other test will be cake now. Congrats!!!

I'll test on Mon if af hasn't arrived by then. I'm not having any symptoms except that my boobs are very slightly fuller than usual, but not sore at all, so I'm not really expecting anything. My temps finally sorted themselves out and look good, but they always look good. Since I'm using the progesterone cream this month, af will hopefully stay away a little longer than usual. I also think the cream might be responsible for any boob fullness.

So far, the cream has been fine. I can't stand the smell of the stuff, but it's been easy enough to use and makes my skin really soft. I don't see any change in my temps, but my temps are usually high enough. My problem is just a short lp, usually 9-10 days. B6 never made much of a difference for me, but I still take it anyways. I just figured the cream was worth a shot.

kurlyvoice · 13/02/2010 19:54

Congratulations Hermya! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend and that you still have a massive grin on your face.

Welcome flyingcat and here's hoping that by joining the best thread on MN, those symptons will turn into a BFP for you. Flying in early pregnancy is meant to be absolutely fine in principle, although if you get sick on planes then that might make morning sickness worse. But don't worry!

Thanks for your support kaloki, felicityflick and calyx - I'll just have to deal with the situation if and when it arrives... As to your DH, calyx, I can totally understand where you're coming from and I would react in exactly the same way. But then I'd be a big softie and probably start blaming myself so DON'T DO THAT!

Lovely to hear from you zippys - we won't forget about you so just take your time and concentrate on your family. Sending lots of love and hugs.

deliriouscow, I had even LESS interest from my doctor. He just said to come back once I was pregnant and didn't even mention folic acid. Can't say that I was very impressed - and he's been really unsympathetic about my IBS too - so might be trying to find a better one.

Happy SWI-ing (or practising) everyone...

Hermya321 · 13/02/2010 20:15

Evening all!! How are you all? Thanks for all your congratulations, it's been a lovely day. Me and DH went out for a meal and spent the entirity of it arguing about names for the future LO.

DH was all for naming the baby Judas as an ironic joke. Suffice it to say I wasn't taken with the idea.

Calyx You're right to be mad at your DH, what a numpty. YANBU.

Aly Fingers crossed for a BFP for you!!! What is progesterone cream though? Is that to lengthen your LP?

FlyingCat Welcome to the thread!!

Khas Good luck with Undie gate!!! Go get em!!

Bunny It's always sunny when you're in work isn't it, I find that the most annoying thing in the world!!

Bellaby I came off the pill in the middle of January and everything seemed to bounce back for me. I know that it can take a while though for others, I think it depends on what mood your body is in.

Whiteroses I've got the digital one on the side in my bathroom, I keep checking it to make sure I'm not hallucinating.

Kaloki · 13/02/2010 22:11

Nevermind keeping the BFP on the cistern, I'm framing mine when it eventually appears!

bellaby I've come off the coil (which you supposedly go back to normal on really quickly) and I haven't had regular periods yet, 4th cycle so far.

I'm testing the weekend after I move (moving on Friday).. the same weekend of our flat warming. Let's hope there'll be more to celebrate then.

bunnygirl80 · 13/02/2010 22:48

Calyx ay your DH, you are most definitely not being unreasonable. But lol at working off sexual frustration by doing the housework

Hermya There's nothing wrong with keeping hold of your test. My sil wrapped up hers in clingfilm and gave it to my mil as a way of announcing the pregnancy. Unfortunately, mil thought it was a toothbrush - luckily she realised before she tried to use it

Bellaby I came off the pill in October. My cycles still aren't settled, but have also had quite alot of upheavel in my life as well so not sure whats stress related and what's my body still not beong quite sure what it's meant to do.

flyingcat welcome to the best thread on MN Two people on here got BFPs the month they went for fertility testing, so hopefully it'll work for you too.

I saw my little nephew over Skype last night. He's only 4 months old, but he's growing up so fast. He smiles at us now when he sees us, which is really cute. I can't wait until he can wave at us too. He made me feel even more broody than I do normally

OP posts:
YorkshireTeaDrinker · 13/02/2010 23:43

Goodness, a couple of days away and so much has happened!

Congratulations Hermya - I knew all those symptoms couldn't be in vain! Really pleased for you.

Welcome to Aries, sdeliriouscow and picklepants. Flycat, your symptoms sound promising and often going to teh docs and starting fertility investigations can be the impetus your body needs to get a BFP.

I've missed a bit too much to catch up with everyone, as I have to go and leap on DH. We are failing somewhat with the tactical BD-ng. DH has been working loads this and is knackered. He's been falling asleep early every night this week. I did manage to accost him on Thursday, but DH fell asleep whlst in the act , so it was a fruitless attempt. The arrival of the weekend has allowed me to finally harvet some seed. Its all romance and passion in the YorkshireTeaDrinking household at the moment!

Hope everyone else in the the BDing zone is having better success.

Hairy, you're on the list twice... Once in the day-20 zone, and once at the end!

Calyx · 14/02/2010 13:34

Ariesgirl LOL I know, I'd shaved my legs and tidied up the old ladygarden as well ha ha! I think I was more annoyed that I'd gone to the trouble and he was oblivious! I was in a real Bad Mood through the day and my washing machine took 4 hours to complete one wash (something not right methinks!) so I was growling about that too. However DH was suitably sorry and snuggled on the sofa with me in the evening while we watched both Bourne movies and it was a happy ending last night (and this morning ) ... but now I'm feeling so guilty for being grumpy all day yesterday, oh well! I should have leered at some rugby too

Also, yes! My wee is almost luminous some days (I'm on the pregnacare conception, don't know what vitamins are in it - all of them !! - and my number twos are really dark too)

Flyingcat welcome to the thread! I'm keeping my eye on you as your symptoms are sounding quite exciting and only a couple of days to wait before you can see if something is up! I don't know about the flying but I'm sure kurly is right and it will be fine. Are you going anywhere nice (even though it's for work!)

Kurlyvoice I was starting to blame myself! He says I'm a grumpy caaaa but I said only when he makes me grumpy LOL!

Hermya LOL at your DH winding you up with ironic names! I hope you managed to enjoy your lovely dinner out all the same

Kaloki good luck for your move next week, I hope you have a brilliant flatwarming party and that everything goes smoothly x

Bunnygirl I spluttered my tea when you said your MIL thought the test was a toothbrush! It would be the right size and shape ha haaaa ha just the sort of thing I would do without my glasses

YorkshireTeaDrinker I sympathise with the lack of tactical BD-ing and I hope he stays awake for the rest of the weekend for you! Mine has fallen asleep 'during' too. We have perfected the quickie for those tired/can't be bothered times when I'm in the fertile period - we can DTD in 5 minutes if necessary (!!) (although I have to point out that isn't the norm for us and I am very happy with his 'performance' when he isn't tired )

I've taken you off the bottom hairy and left you on cycle 4 in the CD20 zone, is that correct?

Hugs and stuff to all, have a lovely Sunday! I'm going to see what my sis and niece are up to and if they want some company - housework all done yesterday when I was frustrated so I've got a lazy day today - silver lining!

Ooh hairytriangle Cycle buddy!

aly323 · 14/02/2010 18:35

Flyingcat Welcome! Just thought I would chime in on flying. I have a few friends who are flight attendants and none of them stopped working during early pregnancy, so I think it's fine to fly. Will you be testing soon?

Bunny, I'm cracking up over your story about your SIL and MIL. That could easily happen with my MIL. I sometimes have daydreams about how I'll tell DH and our families.

Hermya, the progesterone cream will hopefully lengthen my lp. I think my body makes it, but stops early. I figured it was worth a shot to try it before we go into the specialist so that I can say what has worked and what hasn't. By the way, how are you feeling???

Delirious and Kurly, the first nurse/mid-wife I spoke to about ttc was about the same as yours, "don't drink, exercise, folic acid". However, when I started to ask questions about B6 and the effects of going off the pill, she said "I don't know, you read the same literature I read." The next time I went, I got someone else who was excellent and was nice enough to order fsh, etc tests for me even though I had just started ttc. Same facility, huge difference.

I think it's very sweet how so many people here worry about leaving their jobs in the lurch during maternity leave. You're all better people than me. I can't wait to take my maternity leave! We can't live without my salary and my job is going to have to do some scrambling to cover, but I know it'll work out. I know I'm also lucky because I have some seniority and work for the government.

We're going to get our tests done in March if af comes in the next few days. My chart is looking good, but I have no symptoms. I think the progesterone might be making my chart look prettier than normal. Of course I've already poas and got a neg, but I'm also only 9dpo according to ff. That means that af would normally arrive tomorrow...

I was just looking at the stats and noticed that there are a lot of people mid-cycle right now. It made me giggle a little because that means that there is probable also a lot of "lovin" going on as well! Fingers crossed for everyone. We really need to get some BFP's soon so that we can top January.

bunnygirl80 · 14/02/2010 21:34

Calyx I'm glad your DH was suitably apologetic!

Did everyone do lots of romantic things for valentine's day? We sat in and watched the winter olympics and then DH watched the 6 nations while I was on MN. Romance is truly alive and well in the bunny household

I know I said I'm not tracking my cycle this month, but I have a vague idea when I'm going to ov, and it turns out to be when MIL is staying with us for a couple of days. We'll just have to be quiet!

OP posts:
Kaloki · 14/02/2010 22:01

We had an argument with MIL and went down the pub, woohoo valentines day

Ariesgirl · 14/02/2010 22:14

Oh dear, just fallen off the wagon in a big way. After nine days (yes, NINE days) without a drop, have just been out for our Valentine's meal AND after Wales's last gasp victory yesterday, we felt like celebrating. Will I go to hell forever?

Hermya321 · 14/02/2010 22:29

Happy Valentines day everybody!!! I hope you've all had a productive day . Myself in the middle of the discreet exiting from church to go to the loo about a billion times and then nearly falling asleep in the middle of it. Oh the joys!

bunny I'm glad your taking it easy this month.

Aly I worry about my job as well, thats because I love it so much. But these things can't be helped can they.

Ariesgirl That'll be all the iron in them, I've been taking them for a while as well and have had the same side affect. I've heard others have had the same thing happen to them as well.

Hermya321 · 14/02/2010 22:34

Aly Just read the rest of your post sorry. I'm feeling ok, just very tired and achy at the moment. I've been napping this weekend as well.

Calyx You should have some of the others he came up with, Adolf featured as well. Apart from that my dinner was lovely. Another couple was sat next to us and I think we freaked them out with all the baby talk.

Good morning everyone and welcome to new people.

Full-on SWI still going on in the Pidgin household, although no ovulation yet! I have never ov'd later than CD18, but that was yesterday and no temp rise this morning... had a slight dip so maybe today's the day. Hope so, don't want all the efforts of the last week to go to waste!

So, a question: does anyone taking B6 supplements or agnus castus know if they can lengthen the first part of your cycle? I've taken them this month to lengthen my luteal phase - is there any chance they could also delay ovulation?

Second question, for aly - could I ask a bit more about the progesterone cream? where did you get it from, and did you have to consult a GP first? also, when do you start applying it (after ov?) and, if this isn't a really stupid question, where? Thanks very much and sorry for all the questions!
