Morning all! I'm also catching up on weekend posts, this thread is moving fast these days!

Claire sorry to hear about AF. It's so frustrating when you can't quite tell if it's begun or not... this month I kept thinking it had begun and then it hadn't - really annoying as I kept remembering people who'd said 'Oh I had a light period/ spotting so I thought I def couldn't be pregnant but I was' - how are we supposed to know what's going on?!

kurlyvoice - re: your temps - those three temps are very close and when I'm temping I would tend to ignore minor differences. If you try to temp at the same time each day, you tend to notice a different pattern over time, but your temp can go up and down by small amounts even over a few minutes. Generally I find that the later I temp the higher it is - Toni W has a formula for this somewhere in 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility', I think. Hope that makes sense. I've found temping really useful but it took a while to get the hang of it.

Have a good Monday everyone ...

FelicityFlick · 01/02/2010 10:12

Hi Linz- thanks for your understanding!! Fingers crossed those OPKs get to you soon and that they bring you some good news over the next few days.

Good advice about going to the docs- I have had one period since my withdrawal bleed and that was after a cycle of 44 days- after having one I kind of assumed that I would have more on a more regular basis! I shall have to just wait and see!

NovemberAli · 01/02/2010 11:22

Hello all

Kurly - I had a centigrade thermometer to start with and found it just wasn't accurate enough so I got a fahrenheit one which worked much better, sometimes the rises are so small you just can't get a clear pattern with centigrade.

Linzred - I got the cheap Ebay OPKs, they worked okay for me but according to the instructions you should ignore a line that isn't stronger than the control line, but the only line I had was fainter, this correlated with my temps though so I went with that. I think it's difficult cos you need to test in the afternoon and I wasn't very good at restricting my tea intake to not dilute my pee

Felicity - the waiting is so frustrating isn't it? I had cycles of up to 54 days post pill, try to hang on in there!

WhiteRoses · 01/02/2010 11:23

Hi,

Just been catching up. Zippys - like the others, I too will keep my fingers crossed that all goes well at your scan. As you say, it's good you don't have to wait too long. [hug]

Yorkshire - how horribly frustrating that they've gone and mucked up the tests like that! Poor you! Still, as (forget who - sorry! ) said, it won't really matter now if they muck it up again - we're into February - BFP month!

Claire - also sorry to hear about your AF. Mother Nature's so cruel, playing tricks like that...

My latest news is that I'm just out of hospital... Was sick on Wednesday, got sicker, couldn't hold anything down, ended up being taken in on Friday and put on a drip... They scanned me on Saturday, and, thankfully, all was well. Finally got properly rehydrated yesterday, was taken off the drip, and let out this morning. Still not 100% clear on the cause, but there's been a really bad bug going round in work, so I'm hoping it was just that. I feel 100x better now anyway, and it's nice to know all's well with the baby. (Or that it was on Saturday - it doesn't stop me worrying that something could've happened since then! )

Sorry this is quite a short post (from me!) but I've just missed too much to be able to keep up with you all. x

seablue · 01/02/2010 12:32

Hello all - just catching up too. So sorry to hear you have to go for that MRI zippys - crossing my fingers that it's something that can be easily sorted - sounds as if you're being very brave about the wait.

Sorry for AFs Claire and mumsnerves. Especially when it seemed hopeful Claire. And evilgiraffe - you're a strong woman not to test! Much respect.

FelicityFlick - all the things you mention can definitely delay ovulation, especially if your body is just getting back into the swing of things. Time zone shifts have been proved to affect hormone patterns. I'm sure everything will calm down soon -did you say you were taking agnus castus?

Unfortunately my usual spotting started on Saturday (CD 23). As it was 8dpo I of course tried to imagine it was implantation bleeding! Especially as it seemed to diminish at bit on Sunday. But it was back to being red again last night, so I think it's just the endless prelude to AF again.

Just as it returned yesterday I got a voicemail from a really good friend saying she was pg. She had surgery when she was younger and had endo, so in a way this should give me hope, but it's hard not to feel as if something must be really wrong if she's pg before me! As is my best friend with severe PCOS! I am really happy for them both, but a bit bemused.

FelicityFlick · 01/02/2010 13:43

Oh no- poor whiteroses. Glad to hear you are on the mend now though. That must have been really scary for you. It's great that you got a sneak peek of your little bean though and that all is well I saw your post on the graduates thread where you said you'd seen the heartbeat. How amazing!

Thanks NovemberAli- you can be my cycle inspiration! How many cycles was it before your BFP?

Sorry to hear about your spotting seablue- I'll still keep my fingers crossed that AF backs off just like evilgiraffe's has.... Thanks for the support re. cycles. Am just about to do some googling now Yep, I have Agnus Castus in the post to me and am looking forward to starting on it.

claireinthecommunity · 01/02/2010 14:57

Blimey WhiteRoses!, so pleased you are ok after all that's been happening over the past few days Oh and you are allowed to have a break from long posts now and then!!!! (no need to apologize )

Sorry to hear about your AF yorkshire - but you're in good company down at the bottom of the list

Thankyou to everyone for the commiserations about my AF It really does give me that extra bit of support to help me through to next time.

Pidgin, you're absolutely right - It doesn't help when I actively google for these stories either!

Oh seablue, it's horrible isn't it?! - you just want to know one way or the other and when it's a 'stuttery start' (coined by yorkshire) you can't help but get your hopes up for implantation. Keep us posted

Evilgiraffe, sorry to hear your spotting has turned a little red. I didn't test either and wasn't going to until at least two days of non spotting, obviously I didn't get that far but I'm pleased with myself for not using up my CBD test. Keep us posted on events

kurlyvoice · 01/02/2010 16:55

Thanks to November and Pidgin for their temping advice - I'll see how this goes once I actually get to my first cycle (dammit!) and if I can't detect any rises then I'll have a look into a fahrenheit one! I haven't added my stats yet Felicity as I've not even had a withdrawal bleed. Guessing it might be a while yet.

Sorry to hear about your stay in hospital Whiteroses but very pleased that you're back home and that the bean is ok. Keep us up to date!

As for AF turning up, I reckon that it is a perfect excuse for serious bd-ing (or practising at least) on Valentine's day! Does anyone have any nice plans as it's a Sunday?

Calyx · 01/02/2010 18:33

Gosh yes kurlyvoice, that's right, I think valentine's day will be a few days before my "fertile" time.... hmmmm!!.... (note I put the inverted commas in as sometimes doubt how fertile I'm going to turn out to be!)

Whiteroses I hope you're feeling back to full fighting fitness as soon as possible, how scary and horrible for you to have to be admitted to hospital when you've just got pregnant but as was mentioned, how cool was it that you got to peek at your darling bean! Have a nice cuppa tea and keep your fluids up

I will try and get on the pc for longer tomorrow and read through properly, no news as always for me, awaiting AF after a cycle where I don't think I ov'd... but remembering February is going to be the BFP month

Hermya321 · 01/02/2010 18:33

Evening all!! Tragedy to end all tragedies, the guy with the nice voice is now off my course. I'm devastated, I don't know how I'm gonna cope without his dulcet tones.

I'm still feeling sicky and crampy, but, I've put that down to the fact that my body no longer has those lovely pill hormones flying around. Plus the uterus needs to stretch a little more to accomadate more....well....stuff. Had a weird dizzy moment this morning and now my boobs feel really tender. Anyway, TMI over with for a little while.

I hope everyone else is ok.

Mumnerves Nah, it wasn't a deep down dislike for him, he's a top notch bloke and I get on with them both really well. Last time I saw them I saw a packet of 'Pregnacare Conception' vitimins on their worktop in the kitchen. I did ask them if they were thinking about kids yet and they answered 'not yet'. I didn't press anymore but I duely informed my DH when we left though.

Yorkshire How dumb was that nurse!

Evilgiraffe So any AF yet???

Linzred I know what you mean, did you feel like it was a big taboo when you stopped. I did, it felt so so strange. Those OPK strips sound like really good value. I bought mine off of ebay, I'm not sure how good they are. But, we'll persevere. I hope AF arrives for you soon though!

Novemberali I'm glad you mentioned that about the ebay OPK tests, I had a line yesterday, if I get a really faint one tonight I'll go with the one yesterday.

Whiteroses Oh my word, I'm glad you and the bean are ok. I hope you feel better soon.

kurlyvoice Seriously you don't need an excuse for BDing. Me and the DH never celebrate valentines day on the actual day, we either do it before or afterwards. Not quite sure why, I seem to remember the first year we were going out we had a social thing and ever since then it's sort of turned into a tradition.

Hermya321 · 01/02/2010 18:36

Calux Seriously, wrap yourself up in a giant red bow and give yourself to your other half. At the very least it'll be a memory.

chancewouldbeafinething · 01/02/2010 19:01

Evening all...I had a think last night and said to DH if not feeling better shall we test in the morning? And guess what I got a BFP!

We are both in shock still, I am a little worried that it was only CD22 when I tested so can it be right? But I used a CB digi and it said 'pregnant 1-2 weeks'!!!!

I bought another test just to be sure am thinking of using it in the morning.

My stomach has been gurgling all day, and i have still got the urge to eat all the time.

ahhh really cant believe its happened...have to figure out when it would be due. I didnt have a chance b4 work to do anything!

I will report back!

Hermya321 · 01/02/2010 19:02

OMG!! I've just done one of my cheapie OPK tests and it was positive. I'm ridiculously excited about this and am now off to stage an ambush. Wish me luck ladies, I'm going in!

Pidgin · 01/02/2010 19:14

congratulations Hermya on the positive OPK and super-congratulations to chancewouldbeafinething on the BFP!!! First of our lucky February ones! False positives are pretty rare so it probably is right, I'd guess.

seablue that's exactly what my spotting is like and it's bloody annoying. Started at 5dpo this time. Cue B6 and Agnus Castus for me this cycle, we'll see if it works ...

WhiteRoses sorry you've had such a stressful time and hope you're feeling all better.

Yorkshire how annoying re: your tests!

Hermya321 · 01/02/2010 19:22

Chance CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats so so cool, I'm so happy for you!!!

WhiteRoses · 01/02/2010 19:27

Just thought I'd stop by for a quick check and now I'm so glad I did! Congratulations Chance! I don't know how you got through work after all that excitement! Well done! See you over on the Graduates thread?!

WhiteRoses · 01/02/2010 19:28

And thanks, everyone else, for the good wishes. Yeh, it was good to get the scan - some lengths to go to for it though! Lol!

maamalady · 01/02/2010 19:39

Congratulations, chance!

Nothing more AF-wise today aside from what there was this morning. Am still mighty confused and seriously thinking getting a test when I go to tesco tomorrow even though DH won't be here...

Calyx · 01/02/2010 20:29

Congratulations on the first BFP in February Chance! Good going girl

Hermya ;) what a great idea

fudgecat · 01/02/2010 20:53

Congratulations chance what great news {grin] Lets hope this is the first of many for February

fudgecat · 01/02/2010 20:54

Oooops fixed it

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 01/02/2010 21:08

Congratulations Chance! Hoorah! February is off to the best possible start. I know its early, but false positives are very uncommon and a CB digital generally doesn't lie.

Glad to hear all's ok now WhiteRoses, but that's a rather extreme way to get your scan!

Good luck with the ambush hermya!

Evilgiraffe if there's still no sign of AF being here to stay tomorrow, then its probably best to test. But I don't want to wind you up, so remember, AF can just be indecisive sometimes. But TEST TEST TEST!

claireinthecommunity · 01/02/2010 22:24

Congratulations Chance that's great news

Lol at yorkshire and her "TEST TEST TEST!" mantra But yes, evilgiraffe, I would be seriously considering testing

Good luck Hermya

Kurly, I'm with calyx as my fertile time is around Valentines Day, so you know what me and DH will be doing

mumnerves · 01/02/2010 23:01

WhiteRoses glad you're ok, how scary!!

chance what fantastic news! Congratulations on the BFP, I'm sure you're grinning from ear to ear! This is certainly a lucky thread, can't wait for it to by our turn soon!

Hermya : Well if they didn't want you to know, they should've hidden the pills better Sorry to hear Mr nice voice has left

evilgiraffe TEST TEST TEST!!! Good luck with it tomorrow, hope you're our second BFP for feb ( no pressure )

Claire & calyx my fertile time is also around valentines so me and DH will be hopefully pretty busy too!

Well, AF is well and truly upon me, my bbt plummeted this morning! I'm not too dissapointed and didn't even poas this month! Next week hols and ahem, we can try out there so maybe being more relaxed may help
