Hi, being new I have totally lost wher eI posted originally, but I am not trying not to conceive ish and I have had a lot of blood tests, results next week, but they didn't do them on any particular day of my cycle, so I'm not quite sure what tests thy have done! aged almost 42

mumnerves · 30/01/2010 21:44

zippys what shocking news, thanks for letting us know, keeping my fingers and toes crossed that it's not anything too sinister. At least they're looking into it asap! #hugs#

fudgecat happy bd-ing

worrisome lol at your DH calling him MrTeeny! Doesn't Mr Teeny smoke cigars??!!

claire sorry AF got you, I was so hoping you would be the next BFP

evilgiraffe shame AF got you but good news about the 28 day cycle! At least now you have a smaller window for bd-ing

pixiestix that's really naughty of your DH, that would be a typical man! It's like someone saying,'there, there, I know you're not really angry at me just pre-menstrual' .....setting themselves up for a big big slap!

Well ,ladies, I had a temperature spike this morning, but it's not what you think, yesterday I felt like I was coming down with a cold, felt a bit shivery and have got a bit of a runny nose today; can't believe I've got a cold on cd25 when I NEED should be watching my bbt for a spike or a drop! I feel my body is mocking me!

bunnygirl80 · 30/01/2010 21:51

Sorry about AF evilgiraffe, lucieloo and claire

zippys sorry to hear about your problems - it does put all the worrying we do about TTC into perspective. Hopefully they are just checking for the worst case scenario and it'll turn out to be something really simple to fix.

worrisome I just woke DH up I was laughing so hard at the thought of you crying over Top Gear. Mr Teeny is a cute nickname for your bean - it bet you end up calling him/her that as a teenager just to embarrass them!

Not much for me to report at the moment, although I think my DH is about to name me Mrs Hormone too. I really shouted at him yesterday over his inability to decide whether he wanted me to make a salad or just buy one for lunch!!!!! Goodness knows how bad I'll be if I ever get pg!

OP posts:
claireinthecommunity · 30/01/2010 23:38

Ok, this is getting stranger - TMI alert!! When I posted earlier to say that AF had arrived full flo, I meant exactly that, now I've just been to the loo to change my tampon and very little there, almost as if I'm at the end of my period - a few hours later... Not sure what to make of this?

Oh by the way, DH said I needed to report back to HQ (meaning you lot!!)

bunnygirl80 · 31/01/2010 06:34

Lol claire at your husband calling us HQ....although clearly we are crazybabylady HQ.

Maybe you should test just in case - it is possible to have a light version of AF in early pg, or at least it might put your mind at rest one way or the other. Or just leave it a couple of days and see if AF restarts properly or not.

OP posts:
YorkshireTeaDrinker · 31/01/2010 08:35

Clare I think you need to do a test, just in case. However, since I also am guilty of egging you on and feeling quite about it, I reccommend this only as a posible elimination tool. I have found my AF can have quite a stuttery start some months (which never used to be the case), so it might just be an indecisive start for AF.

OK, that's enough caution, TEST, TEST, TEST!

zippys so sorry to hear about the scan. Its going to be tough, but try not to worry too much. Hopefully the MRI scan is a sensible precaution.

Worrisome lol at you crying at Top Gear!

Welcome hairytriangle, if you let us know your stats we'll add you to the list.

News from me, well AF made a stuttering appearance yesterday, So i'm back to the start again, gearing up for a fruitful February!

T went to teh doctors on Friday, with limited results. I was expecting results back from two blood tests and a swab. The first blood test they took on CD22 (to test progesterone levels) was fine. The second one (has to be taken between CD1 and CD5) was buggered up because the nurse failed to see the instructions and they tested for progesterone again. Swab got lost in the system.

So I have to go back for a repeat blood test to check FSH levels and do another chlamyia swab. Great.

Fortunately as AF arrived yesterday I should be able to get my blood test done early next week. Would be exceptionally pissed off if I'd just missed it and had to wait another 4 weeks to retest!

Once they have finally assembled all the test results, we will get our referal to the fertility clinc, where we can start doing the same tests (and more) all over again.

So upshot is, I have to retest, DH has to retest and we both have to go back a couple of weeks after that to get results, sign child protection forms (?) and finally get our referral. Unless of course we get our BFP all by ourselves this month and don't need any further intervention!

hairytriangle · 31/01/2010 09:59

Ooh stats!

Have been off pill for about four months, not necessarily trying, but not trying not to conceive!

Now going into starting to 'try' I guess!

How exciting, it's weird afer trying for so long not to get pregnant, to be doing the opposite now.

I'm 42 in April, and have asked for initial blood tests to check out what's going on. Results this Thursday morning. OH is having his swimmers tested Tuesday.

hairytriangle · 31/01/2010 10:00

Oh and my cycle is between 28-30 days usually - and I do have signs of ovulation (sore nippy noos, cascade, ovulation RAGE! and spots)

maamalady · 31/01/2010 10:18

Claire, that is so weird - me too! AF full flow yesterday when I posted, new tampon overnight and hardly anything there this morning VERY weird but then for me it could be post-pill mystery AF. Maybe flow will return during the day today...

claireinthecommunity · 31/01/2010 14:19

Thank you for the words of peer pressure caution bunny and yorkshire I have had a little more of what I would call a flow now, so I think she's here to stay. Yes, ok, I know I was clutching at straws

Loving the 'stuttery start' description yorkshire. ..."nurse failed to see the instructions"..., bit of a worry! Obviously you'll fall this month, so if the nurse balls up the test again it won't matter

Oooh evilgiraffe, strange isn't it?! Keep us posted

Welcome Hairy

chancewouldbeafinething · 31/01/2010 18:21

Welcome Harry2007 & hairytriangle! Zippys I agree with the others, doctors have to give you the worst case scenario, but i am sure there are plenty of times it is something not so serious. I know it is easier said than done, but try to keep positive until the MRI [fingers & toes firmly crossed}]

Sorry AF got you claire I was sure you would be the lucky 3rd person this weekend. Naughty ladies must not get carried away...sorry! LOL at the HQ, my DH has been asking me when i will be reporting in MN too.

bunny was thinking of you when we were watching the tennis today - your DH must be happy he can get some early nights now...sorry about murray though, he did play well.

worrisome Top Gear really? that is too funny I think you better start avoiding the news! Mr Teeny is not so bad...could be worse no?

OK TMI warning - have been feeling hung over all weekend, and clearly have not been drinking. Have to go to the toilet (for number 1's) every 5 mins, and had some ahmm loose movements also. I dont know if i have a bug or what, DH is fine, he has been singing to the tune of KOL your sex is on fire 'whooa your bum is on fire' at any opportunity. So at least i have had a laugh about it. But i wish i had of been as drunk as he was last night, cos its not fair to feel this bad without the party beforehand! To add to my woes my mouth is still aching from the wisdom tooth, and I am still attempting to drink through a straw. I cant wait to have a big steak, i even went to the butcher to get some fillet steak for the occasion (sad arent i?).

Hope everyone has a good start to the week...let the Feb BFP roll on!

chancewouldbeafinething · 31/01/2010 18:22

mumsnerves hope the silly bug bugs off so you can keep track of BBT Good luck

chancewouldbeafinething · 31/01/2010 18:25

zippys I just had a thought...Do you watch Greys Anatomy? I hope your doctor is as good looking as McSteamy - that should help to keep you calm! (if not watch it!)

Hermya321 · 31/01/2010 20:00

Evening all!! I hope all of you have had good weekends. I went and saw some old friends and then went on a bit of a mad shopping frenzy. It was fabulous. I also saw my friends new baby boy, he was so beautiful! He was all small and wriggly, in comparison my friends looked like they've been run over by a baby shaped truck. I think they're still in shock. I also found out that some other friends of mine expecting a baby. My friend is eleven weeks gone, I was very excited jumped up and down waving my hands and then went to hug her. Unfortunatly as I went to hug her I managed to cuff her DH round the back of the head. Oh dear!! (It was funny though)I also found out that some other friends of mine are TTC, seriously it's catching. In the last week I've found out that three different girls are pg. Lets hope that proximity has an effect on me. LOL!!

Bunny You've made me feel so much better, I feel like I'm going a bit mad with it all at the moment. I do wonder if I'm pg, but since I haven't managed to test positive on my OV sticks I've dismissed that thought.

Worrisome Congratulations!!! Another BFP!!!

Zippys Oh My gosh that sounds terrible, I hope they figure things out soon for you.

Evilgiraffe Sorry about AF

Claire Sorry about AF and sorry that you drove yourself a bit crazy with it all. Go drink some wine and eat some chocolate. Have you figured out whats gone on with your AF yet? (sorry I'm writing as I catch up with the posts)

Calyx whats your haircut like?

Harry2007 Welcome to the thread, we're all a bit baby crazy but you'll love it.

Pixie Sorry that you're a walking hormone, my friend is apparently driving her DH up the wall with the aftermath of giving birth to her DS. Well at least he's very paitent.

Chance I watch Greys, although I don't watch it as much as I would like. Sorry that you're feeling a bit hung over and that you're not feeling too well. I hope it clears up soon for you.

kurlyvoice · 31/01/2010 20:03

Evenin' all,

Sorry for being AWOL for the weekend - am in a show next week so have been rehearsing all hours and then collapsing straight into bed. Have been keeping an eye on your all whilst waiting for my next scene, but my posts kept getting interrupted by having to go and act - how rude!

Am still waiting for my first AF but am in two minds as I'd quite like to get through this week without it... I did try to use my thermometer so that I'd ready when it does turn up, but I got three different readings (36.44, 36.46, 36.51) in the space of three minutes - is that normal? Am I doing it wrong?

I did explain all to my DH, who wasn't even put off by the description of EWCM, and his only concern was where the thermometer had to go! He is just too baby mad, bless him.

Congratulations to addie and worrisome on their BFPs (which I reckon would make good baby initials...) and sorry to hear about your need for extra tests zippys. You know that we'll be here to celebrate with you when everything comes back negative! Anyway, here's to a bumper happy BFP-stocked February, and if anyone can give me some top-temping-tips then I will be most grateful...

Hermya321 · 31/01/2010 20:04

I'm sorry, I forgot to construct some of the sentences in the above post properly. I do apologise!!

hairytriangle · 31/01/2010 20:04

Having had my lovely sis and friend with four month old baby up to visit on Saturday I am now triple broody

bunnygirl80 · 31/01/2010 21:28

Yorkshire how on earth did the nurse read the insructions wrong?! Sorry about AF, but at least you can get your bloods repeated soon.

chance I get the impression DH is incredibly pleased that the tennis is over - it is possibly the only sport in the whole world that he hates watching. In fact he didn't even know there was such a thing as the Australian open until last week

hermya lol at you hitting your friends DH around the head Your poor friends being run iver by a baby shaped truck - I've also seen some of my friends looking similar. It does sometimes make me wonder about whether wanting one of my own is all that sensible - although my baby will be born toilet trained and sleep through the night from birth

OP posts:
maamalady · 31/01/2010 21:33

Update - still no reappearance of AF today. Am quite bemused!

mumnerves · 31/01/2010 23:21

Yorkshire Silly nurse!!!

Hermya lol at you cuffing your friend's DH!! I hope that wasn't some deep down dislike coming out!

Chance & Hermya I used to watch a lot of greys but I LOVED mcsteamy and Benny the most! Mc dreamy didn't do it so much for me( too short! lol) haven't watched the recent episodes, have got to catch up! I think I was so devistated when Benny died that it just wasn't the same anymore That and also I thought Meredith whined too much!

hairy : welcome back What a lovely DH to be so babymad too! My Dh really wants a baby but just doesn't want to know the details. I tried to explain BBT to him the other day and he just nodded like he understood but I don't think he really did!

evilgiraffe :sounding positive, are you going to test in the morning?

Well, got a bit of spotting today and feel like AF is going to turn up My shivers have gone and temp still up this morning but expecting it to go down tomorrow, AF is due on weds, ah well, maybe next cycle!

Morning All,

Hope everyone had lovely weekends. I heard there has been more snow in England??! It?s unheard of!

Just a quicky from me as at work and lots to get on with!

Just wanted to say hope you?re feeling ok Zippys and that the doctors are just being extra cautious in checking you out so thoroughly. I am sure that there are lots and lots less serious things it could be, but it is good to have teh MRI to put your mind at rest.

Sorry about AF Mumnerves and Claire, your symptoms did sound so good! Evilgiraffe- how curious! Are you testing?!

Kurlyvoice what cycle day are you on? I had a look on the list and couldn?t see you on there or are you not sure due to having just come off the pill?

Nothing to report from me- no AF and now on CD 43 which is pretty annoying!!
I am thinking though that I had really bad jet lag at the start of the month after returning back to HK from the UK where I had been for two weeks over christmas and this was around the time that ?normal? people ovulate (CD?s 14-18) so perhaps this might have delayed ovulation? (assuming that I am ovulating at all that is!) After returning to HK I also had really bad tonsillitis and had to have a course of strong antibiotics (1000Mgs twice a day for a week!) so am wondering if these factors may be playing a part in this long cycle? or am I just clutching at straws?! Anyone experienced anything similar? I keep thinking AF is coming as have been getting AF type cramps so I rush excitedly to the loo and nothing! I guess it is just my body cranking into gear and starting to work again : )

Sorry for the moan!

maamalady · 01/02/2010 07:49

Very small amount this morning when wiping so just adds to the confusion really. I think I will probably hold off testing this week just to see what happens next, and also DH is away almost all week and I'd rather he was there. Absolutely bizarre though!

LinzRed · 01/02/2010 08:30

Good Morning - just trying to read all posts I missed over the weekend - good news for some and dissapointments for others seems to be the gist of it. Sorry for Mumnerves and Claire FelicityFlick I don't know about jetlag and antibiotics but I'm sure things like that do affect your body. Although I am only on CD 10 after stopping pill I had stopped the pill a few years ago when my DH and I decided to TTC then panicked and changed our minds!!

I was off pill for 4 months and did not have AF at all after initial withdrawal bleed.

I am not telling you this to depress you just to say it can be normal for it to take that long for your body to settle down & my doctor at the time told me not to worry until I'd gone 6 months without anything happening.
I was only 26 at the time so this time round if nothing happens for a month or two I am considering going to docs and TBH lying about how long i've been off pill.

I hope something happens for you soon - I am really worried that I am going to be in the same situation. It just seems so ironic that we spend years on the pill trying not to get pregnant and panicking if periods are late etc and now we want to get pregnant it seems so hard.

LinzRed · 01/02/2010 08:35

I meant to tell everyone about the OPK strips I just ordered from Amazon.co.uk. Maybe you already know about this but I ordered 60 for £10.49 inc p&p compared to the ones I saw on Boots.com which were 5 for £15.99. All the customer reviews were really positive so I'm just waiting to get them in the post - hopefully in next few days as I'm heading towards CD 14 altho I have no idea of length of cycle yet!
