Hi All,

Hope you like our new home!

I've just got back from the doctor, and despite being very sceptical - especially when I found out I was to see a newly qualified doc - it's been pretty good.

She asked good, searching questions and has booked me in for a full blood test on Monday so they can check all my hormone levels, check whether the menopause is starting, check what my hcg levels are etc, etc.

She's also worked out that we've been TTC for a while now - and that it might be time we had a bit of extra help. Depending on the results of these tests, DH will also be in, and then we'll be referred/prescribed etc.

I feel a bit better now.

Joolsiam · 24/08/2009 10:44

Sounds very positive DaisyDot - I guess if you're having hormone tests today, you might know something / have a plan before the end of this week ? Fingers crossed for you.

No news here really CD7 and still a little post AF spotting, which is really unusual for me. It feels a bit like my hormones are out of kilter, as I've been really really weepy. Will keep an eye on it this cycle and may go and see my GP if no change.

C1NDY · 24/08/2009 12:37

Thanks Jools & Cindy.

I've had a bucketful of blood taken, and if I remember correctly, they're doing a full blood count, tests for thyroid, LH, FSH, Prolactin, HCG and something else.

Jools sorry you feel a bit out of sorts; maybe a trip to the GP might be in order. Sometimes, they really surprise you!

C1NDY carry on carrying on! Keep taking it easy; beans aren't that easy to come by. It's brilliant news that yours is doing so well.

kittycatcat · 24/08/2009 16:54

daisydot that's fab. I reckon she was more thorough cos she is new. Needs to try harder to impress. Great she is looking after you!

C1ndy thats fab news. Hurrah. Welcome little bean x

daisydotandgertie · 27/08/2009 08:07

Oh bloody hell.

I've peed on a stick this morning - I had a dream that I got a BFP - and there is a definite faint pink line. Even my DH can see it and he's normally one of those 'can't even see the stick' men.

It's only an ebay cheapie though - and I've had some bfps (although v, v, v much fainter than this one) during this ridiculous cycle (I'm on day 82 now).

What do you reckon? Phone the doc? Sit tight for a day or two and test again? Invest in a CB digi? Hallucination? Temporary insanity?

C1NDY · 27/08/2009 11:27

Daisydot I would go to the doctors again and ask them to do a urine test on you OR you can perhaps ask them to refer you to the EPU so they can scan to see what is going on???

OP posts:
C1NDY · 27/08/2009 11:28

Daisy I would not put up with this any longer its your body and you need to know what is going on!

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 27/08/2009 11:32

Daisy - do you have any other PG symptoms ? cramps, insomnia, food cravings etc etc ?

You would be quite far along now if this is a pregnancy wouldn't you ? Why not ask for a scan ? That should tell you one way or the other, even if the hormones for some reason are not appearing as they should in blood or urine.

daisydotandgertie · 27/08/2009 11:35

C1NDY - I've spoken to the doc today to get my blood test results. I've started a new thread here.

They've moved quite fast and have sent out referral paperwork today.

I'm scared now. It seems as though there really is something wrong.

daisydotandgertie · 28/08/2009 09:03

Not so scared today! Yesterday was horrible.

Jools I didn't see your message yesterday. Sorry. I'm surprised how upset I was after the phone calls from the doctor.

If I am pg, you're right, I'd be 11+5 which is really quite a way in.

I have had a whole selection of pg symptoms, I've felt sick a lot - and unusually even been sick, had a lot of wicked heartburn, wake up in the night for a wee (unheard of) and wee about twice as much as normal during the day (I just can't hold it in). I've had a tingly, crampy fanjo and now am very itchy right at the top of my legs , tons of CM, a selection of cramps about a month ago, I've gone off tea, am sure my areola have double in size and have to go to bed at about 9pm. I'm also getting much hungrier than usual - proper stomach growling hungry.

But I wonder if all of these are in my head - they'd be easy to imagine.

The blood tests results have come back OK - all is normal and most importantly to me, show no sign at all of the dreaded menopause. My reserves are not as wizzened as I feared.

The doc has referred me to the gynaecologist as they don't have the first clue what's wrong with me.

They've also booked me in for an ultrasound to see what's actually going on inside me. They asked me which hospital I want to go to, and I was useless - I have only been in the area for a year and have no idea if one is better than the other. I've gone for the most convenient with every thing crossed!

They've been really good at the surgery - we're really rural and they seem to do a lot on the phone (thank god - saves hours of waiting for appointments).

I rang for the test results, and asked for a doc to call me to talk about them. One rang within 10 minutes and we had a quick chat. He rang back about 10 minutes later, saying he'd been through my notes and thought my case should be speeded up, and that as I'd already seen a different doctor he'd get her to ring me to confirm a referral; he also said he thought I now needed continuity of care. She was on the phone in about 5 minutes and sent out the paperwork while I was on the phone. She rang back again about an hour later to tell me all the docs had had a meeting about me and that they'd decided I also needed an ultrasound.

I'm impressed so far .

But wish we weren't going to the states tomorrow. Bad, bad timing!

Just to really cock things up, I've peed on another stick this morning and have a stronger bfp.

Joolsiam · 28/08/2009 09:45

Very impressive service from the doctors.

I hope you can relax and enjoy your holiday anyway.

C1NDY · 01/09/2009 08:55

Hi All, hope you are all well... how are you all getting on with the TTC... anyone got any symptons yet?

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 01/09/2009 09:06

Hi Cindy

I think I'm only 1DPO today, but am not certain as still have a little EWCM and some tummy twinges. Far too early for symptoms, but that doesn't stop me spotting some

Hope things are OK with you and little bean

C1NDY · 02/09/2009 10:44

Hi Jools I will have my fingers and toes crossed for you. I am sure you will catch up. Have you had another test done? are the hospital monitoring you now?

I have been okay, just keep poking my breast to ensure they are tender and am hoping the morning sickness stays with me forever, its the only comfort I have that everything is going fine... Have midwife appointment next week and then hopefully in October the 12 week scan - can't wait till that is over so that I can know the bean is progressing. I guess I will never be comfortable until the baby is born.

Look after yourself Jools.

All the best
Cindy

Iggy Cindy taps on the VDU monitor, are you still out there?

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 02/09/2009 13:50

Hi Cindy

I think Iggy is taking a bit of time out - just as I did for a while - you know aswell how draining and all-consuming TTC after MC can be

All my recurrent MC tests came back clear, but I'm to let them know the moment I get a BFP and I'll be monitored with blood tests and loads of scans as they believe that keeping the mother happy and reducing worry will reduce MC - not arguing with that

C1NDY · 03/09/2009 14:32

Jools It will happen to you soon, I can feel it in my waters! I think you are right to stop posting for a while it really gets you thinking less about the whole process. I have stopped reading things on the internet... i.e. they say things like... your breasts will be tender and you may feel nauseaus but when you don't feel these things you panick!! so what is the point in reading about it in the first place.

I am however, reading posts of people expecting in April but have not joined them in posting as I believe I will then just keep posting.

I want all of you guys to get a BFP soon, so that we can then all be on the GFJ thread... were we all belong! Sending you all good vibe baby dust ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Spats and Pezzina will be having their baby's soon.

Take care
Cindy

Hi all,

I'm doing quite well not posting much (except for two threads I started yesterday - ooops!) and feel so much the better for it but wanted to pop in and say hi.

Great you had good scan cindy. I am same stage as you jools - 8dpo today.

Trying not to obssess. Have started exercising lots to lose weight.
x

C1NDY · 09/09/2009 09:28

Yellow good luck with losing the weight! I just pop in now ans again. But the thread has gone very quiet. I guess we have all been posting for sometime now and it may get a little laborious. All fine with me, have my 12 week scan in October date not given yet but assume that is when they will see me next. I am worried as I keep thinking something will go wrong. If I can get over the 12 week scan then the next hurdle will be the 20 week scan and then hopefully I will be able to relax a little. It is going to be a long journey. All I can do is look after myself. Look after yourself and here's wishing you get that bfp soon!

Love
Cindy

Hi ladies, just popping in to see how everyone is doing. Fingers crossed for Jools and Yellow hope the TWW is not too painfull.

I hope the wait to 12 weeks does not drag too much for you Cindy, it is really good news about the early scan.

All good with me, I am 16 weeks now and today is the first day that I have not been sick in 3 months! I of course then paniced that something might be wrong, but saw the midwife today and she found a nice strong heartbeat.I have also started to show now (much earlier 3rd time round)

Joolsiam · 09/09/2009 22:16

Ooh - all these long lost thread members coming back to say hello

Pinkyblue - I can't believe you are 16 weeks already ! Where on earth did the time go !

Good to hear both Cindy and Yellowflowers sounding so upbeat By the way *Yellow( - I had loads and loads of hair fall out last cycle and wondered the same as you...

Well, 9DPO here and some definite symptoms that I'm kind of trying to ignore, in case it all comes to nothing. I can't help being sneakily more excited / expectant than in previous cycles though. Despite my best efforts to keep calm, if I don't get a BFP this time, I think I might be in for a bit of a meltdown ...

C1NDY · 10/09/2009 09:06

Jools hang in there girl... you are definately going to get that bfp soon. (big hugs) Don't give up, it will happen.
