Hi guys - we've had May and June, so may July be third thread lucky. I am a July baby myself. All welcome.

Hi everyone, can I join? I've come over from the June thead too.

AF arrived on Monday (not so great), so I have been drowning my sorrows with a few glasses of wine.

Evening all,

Been reading through the thread since I last posted and noticed the strange periods a lot of you have had this time - I, too, had
an AF that wasn't the same as normal. Usually I will spot lightly for the first day or so before it really gets going but this month I was a day early and was heavy from the start. Thought to myself it seemed odd, then read about you other ladies in similar situations - bizarre.

Re. grapefruit juice, I drink it every morning. Have done since I was in my late teens though and wasn't aware of it's benefits to conceiving 'til I read various threads on the subject on MN. It obviously hasn't helped me for the past year tho'!! It's funny when MNers talk about having to force it down - I love the stuff, it's the first thing I have every day.

Today I got an appointment to see a specialist 'cos we've been ttc for 12 months now, and that will be at the end of this month so something positive to look forward to (I think!). Plus, of course, all the BDing between now and then.

Just updating the list to include wzmo and Ellie131. Hope I've got all the details right(?)

Goodnight ladies.

LittleCheese · 02/10/2008 10:28

supposed to be BDing from the weekend and just realised we are staying with some friends this weekend and sharing a room with DD

madmarriedNika · 02/10/2008 10:48

Littlecheese- will your DD be in a travel cot? Can you put her in a corner of the room (kind of out of sight) with blankets around it and then wait til she's sound and be very quiet (we've resorted to this before...! does it make me an awful mum?!)

MamaMimi- really hope you have some more luck soon. My SIL took 19 months to conceive their first- she's now 11 weeks pregnant and ironically fell pregnant on the same cycle that she had her CD21 bloods done (which came back normal)!! But it was so hard on her- really feel for you.

I think the list for some of us is now a day out as I'm on CD4, so have changed it - please correct if wrong!!

DH now officially got man flu. He came home from work and said feebly - no sex tonight please! So I think, unless I ov'd early, I'm out of the running for this month. But its only our first month so I'll call it a trial run! Good luck everyone else x

zazen · 02/10/2008 11:08

I have a mid july baby (40 weeks plus 2 days) and conceived her on 16th october.

Now I thought I was out of the running for conceiving her as I had finished my EWCM and that was that in my head - BUT we did the deed and hey presto. So don't feel that it's over for this month. I conceived when I had post EWCM hardly there and tacky mucus... possibly TMI?

Good luck to all.

hi ladies I've been lurking but a bit too nervous to join as this is only my first month and don't want to get my hopes up too high, but I thought sod it, if I'm in I'm in!
I think July would be a lovely month to give birth in, the weather at least has a better chance of not being cold and wet, and we don't have any other family birthdays around then either

aargh, ok I am banned from touching the list, I promise!

smallone · 02/10/2008 12:03

Yep, the last time we BD'd was CD10 so v early on. I managed to conceive DD at CD11, and didn't ov til CD15(was using persona as contraception) but I don't think lightning will strike twice! He may well be better by CD14 or 15 so we might be lucky. But I don't think I'll be counting any chickens.

LittleCheese · 02/10/2008 12:26

Hi Madmarried, i was just thinking I could maybe try "hiding" DD and just getting on with it if id had a couple pf glasses of wine, but maybe not the best of things if im TTC

yellowflowers · 02/10/2008 12:34

Having to do it quietly can be sexy though, and you can say it's for the thrill of being naughty as opposed to making a baby so he doesn't feel the pressure. Or could you head to the shower together secretly...

OP posts:
LittleCheese · 02/10/2008 12:52

unfortunately our friends shower is in their ensuit so that may be a little difficult hehe
might have to try the whole quiet thing

xxhunnyxx · 02/10/2008 12:57

smallone do u know what day u ovulate? CD10 may not be that early cos I think I ov around CD10 but then again I think my cycle is shorter than yours, but u never know, u may still be in with a chance this month.
littlecheese how old is DD? I don't think it's such a terrible thing to ''hide'' her or put in her a corner. Do ur friends know that you're TTC? maybe they wouldn't mind having her in their room under the circumstances?
My AF is officially late now as I'm pretty sure that I ov'd on CD10 and AF usually arrives 14 days later (yesterday) so I'm still remaining a little optimistic despite my BFN yesterday. Now I'm questioning the test I did tho, it was a cheapo £1 shop dipstick one and I did it all bleery eyed at 6am and didn't bother reading the instructions till after I had done it. It turns out I was supposed to leave it in my ''sample'' for 15 seconds, well it was more like 5 seconds. Maybe I'm just clutching at straws, I suppose we'll find out one way or the other soon.

LittleCheese · 02/10/2008 13:09

hunny
DD is 20 months, ou friends do know we are TTC however I think i would feel more cmfortable hidin DD in the corner rather than going to bed with our friends knowing exactly what we are doing.
poor you with late AF maybe you should do another test when you are a bit more alert, its so difficult to advise what to do as i know if you test again and its a BFN it can be soul distroying

xxhunnyxx · 02/10/2008 13:46

Yeah I think I'll give it another couple of days, I do have a clear blue digital hidden away but I don't want to waste it just yet. The problem is when AF is late i start to wonder if I ovulated later than I thought and then that could be the reason for a false BFN, I just hate the not knowing, it's horrible isn't it?
