Hi guys - we've had May and June, so may July be third thread lucky. I am a July baby myself. All welcome.

Agh knackered today, but most likely to be due to being up half the night. DH's drink after work brought him home at 2am! So he woke me up then, just going back to sleep and upstairs neighbour starts talking really loudly. Then his son wakes up and starts screaming, which he ignores. Then son settles and his other half comes home. Then they start having a barny. So all in all I had a great nights sleep! Fortunately I have claimed a nap from DH and he has now taken DD out for a walk. I'm starting to wonder if I can cope with sleep deprivation again!

wzmo · 06/10/2008 01:19

okay so i am just ending AF so hopefully in the next month or 2, things work out!!! thanks for adding me to the list!

Stokey · 06/10/2008 08:43

Hello all,

Hope you all had great w/es with plenty of B'ding

Am now on day 28 & AF not here yet so keeping fingers crossed. Optimism slightly tempered by the fact that I have two enormous spots (including a particularly attractive one on my lip) which makes me think am about to get it. Still have never been over 28 days since I came off the pill in June, so we'll see how today goes.

smallone · 06/10/2008 09:02

Hi Stokey, when are you planning to test?

Good Luck

yellowflowers · 06/10/2008 09:21

Morning all-hope you have all had good weekends!

Smallone-i'm with you about the lack of sleep thing-i really must be crazy! We went to stay with my mum this weekend and dd has been ill all weekend and i have had bugger all sleep which has turned me into a grumpy monster What are we thinking?!
A quick question re dd being ill-she wanted me to bf her alot-much more than normal-this weekend i think i at least should have ovulated (looking at cm) but could this increased bf stopped it from happening? Think that there is a chance of that-very very bad timing although we made sure we bd at least once a day over the last 5 days or so, so am keeping my fingers crossed but also must realise it might have been for nothing! Does anyone know if ov can be stopped like that?
Sorry for the ramble-dd is helping me and i keep forgetting what i'm trying to say!

Good luck Stokey-i had really bad skin when i was pregnant with dd but i know what you mean re spots-i always get a couple of bad ones when af is due

sammysam · 06/10/2008 09:24

Yellowflowers-keeping my fingers crossed for you-how strange. What did the gp say?

smallone · 06/10/2008 09:30

Yellow - When do your results come back? Are they testing for pg or something else? Hope you get a swift answer.

Sammy - I don't know, but it doesn't make sense that ov could be stopped in its tracks like that. It takes all sorts of hormone surges leading up to ov so I think increased bfing would only make a difference if it was in the early stages of cycle, rather than at the final hour!

yellowflowers · 06/10/2008 09:34

hi smallone.

well I went to GP and said either I am pregnant in which case I had period and one positive but after time limit test and several negative ones so am I/was I pregnant, or I am not pregnant in which case why sore boobs for last two weeks and metallic taste. She sent away urine pregnancy testing.

She said sore boobs just hormonal but I am annoyed because yes boobs sore pre period starting but now it is 10 days post period so shouldn't be sore now so hormones wouldn't explain that. And also because I told her about the one positive test but she said it's possible to get a false positive because of an LH surge pre period. This would be fine but the positive result (after time limit on test) came on cycle day 7 so couldn't be because of a pre period LH surge because the test wasn't done pre period but she didn't seem to understand this.

So now I annoyed because I felt she didn't get it and knew less than me about these things, and have to wait for urine result and if negative still need to go back and ask for blood test or to get them to check out the very sore boobs.

Have bought another shop bought test (one clear blue and one sainsbury own) but don't need loo so can't test yet.

I just want to cry with frustration.

Does anyone know how to get back what you just typed when you Darling Daughter zaps it off into the cosmos?

smallone · 06/10/2008 09:41

Blimey, thats some weird homonal action!

When was the pos test? CD7 of cycle before or after your last period?

I'm sorry your GP has left you feeling frustrated. What do you think has happened?

smallone · 06/10/2008 09:59

Yellow, if CD7 this cycle, could it be an LH surge for this ovulation early? Have you looked at peeonastick.com? They have lots of pics of tricksy results, maybe you could find an answer there.

yellowflowers · 06/10/2008 10:18

Hi,

At risk of boring you all...

I usually have a 30-34 day cycle. This time I got sore boobs around day 31 and metallic taste that was at its strongest day 35/36 and has come and gone since then. On day 37 I started a period that lasted for 3 days - 2 light and one heavy then stopped abruptly rather than tail off as usual. But despite this metallic taste continued though lesser than before and boobs still sore, more every day, even though if the 3 day bleed was period then it is now cycle day 10.

I peed on a stick on cycle day 7 (well many times before that obv but all negative). It was clear blue non digital and was a faint faint line for first two mins which then disappeared but then after an hour came back again gradually getting darker. Still have the stick and it is a blue line which became blue and clear after a few hours and stayed that way. Then I repeated test on another clear blue digital which did exactly the same (but I dismantled it to look at inside so not still got it) and on other breands which were negavtive.

That was on Friday. Doctors appt was today.

So irritating - just want to know what is going on and if not pg then I want my boobs to stop hurting.

LittleCheese · 06/10/2008 11:08

O yellow you must be so frustrated, are you going to test again today, I really dislike GP's as they never seem to get what you are telling them and once they have made there mind up they just stop listening....

Hi Ladies, havent been on in a while so am just catching up with everyones news.

Think i OV around Friday - sunday so have had a lot of BD, although i have alight period pain type things yesterday and tingeling sensations in my boobs im putting this down to OV and definatly not PG symptoms!

Only another 2 weeks to go, god this is hell. I hate the 2WW!

Hope everyone is doing well, xx

smallone · 06/10/2008 16:21

Yellow - (def not boring btw - we're all ttc, this is our lives!) you must be driving yourself mad. I don't think you can count anything on those sticks after the time it says. It would be better if they self-destructed in a puff of smoke to keep us away from them. IME clear blue is more likely to show neg when others are positive, and the fact that it's not getting darker says to me that its not your month. Hope the Dr can get to the bottom of the other hormonal symptoms and you can get some answers.

Sorry this is a negative response and I hope I'm wrong but sometimes I think its cruel to give false hope.

smeraldina · 07/10/2008 08:33

Thought I'd try and introduce a strain of comedy to this thread, seeing as I am currently in the mid-cycle, what will happen this month, if I don't get pregnant soon I'll miss any chance of maternity leave as my contract expires, but that makes me stressed, which isn't conducive to conceiving, circle.

So - question a) what's the greatest length you've gone to to BD at the right time?

(I am gatecrashing a conference this Thursday, sneaking into the building where my husband is staying away for three days. High jinks and risk involved....what happens if I get mistaken for a delegate and have to give a paper as well )

and seeing as the papers won't shut up about it - b) how is the credit crunch affecting your attempt to ttc?

(anyone starting to try to knit their own pregnancy test, or knock one up blue peter style? They might be more use in fact, seeing as the one time I was pg (I miscarried) it was pretty obvious from other sigs and the rest of the time it was just a good way of depressing myself and spending money)

Hope you're ok yellowflowers. Obviously, I have no idea
what your positives mean, but I had two faint blue lines last month, which appeared after the time limit had expired (on superdrug tests), plus backache, plus nausea and I was convinced I was pregnant. Subsequent negatives started to drive me nuts, and deeply confused, as I'd never had negative tests that turned positive before . . . .really thinking of you.

Stokey · 07/10/2008 08:52

Like the note of humour Smeraldina

Fraid it's back to the start for me - the spots have it & AF appeared this morning.

But am Ok about it as have conference to go to in Prague in a couple of weeks, and much suspicion would be raised if I wasn't able to drink absinthe with the boys... was already preparing some spin about being on antibiotics but the chances of escaping without having a drink are slim. It's early days for me still, so back to drawing board, try to ignore fact that conf will coincide with best BDing time - doh!

Haven't been really gone to any lengths to BD yet Smeraldina, & credit crunch seems to be giving my life a kinda armaggedon, party at the end of the universe feel, so if anything it should help .

Yellowflowers, thinking of you, hope you hear back soon

sammysam · 07/10/2008 08:54

Really feeling for you yellowflowers it is really nasty not knowing where you stand.

Smallone-thank you-that is what I was hoping!

smeraldina-not that much of a great length but had to lett dd watch tv in our bed upstairs one morning and sneak downstairs and set up the sofa bed
You sound like you are going to far more lengths!!!! I know what you mean re stress-because dd's birthday is the end of july there is only really this month and next before dc2 (hopefully!) would then be 4 school years lower than dd (but only 3 years-although that is more than i ever wanted anyway) and this is a real issue for me. Not a lot I can do about it though

I'm into the 2ww now and not looking forward to it

yellowflowers · 07/10/2008 10:26

Well boobs really hurt, more than they had, this am. So did two tests - clear blue and tesco. Clear blue did what it had last fri which is very faint line very quickly which then disappeared after few mins and then came up after about an hour very strong - so weird. Nothing on the tesco one. Guess will find out when dr gets results back tomorrow.

lillypie · 07/10/2008 14:32

Hi everyone I spent yesterday with my lovely pregnant friend.Grrrrrrrrrrr I sooooo want it to be me!!!!!!!!!

She wasn't even trying her DC is only 9 months!
So we spent the day talking about double buggys and names.

Trying very hard not to be

Hope everyone is doing ok.

smallone · 07/10/2008 20:59

Hey all, I'm loving the knitting a test stick idea! Must contact the WI for a pattern.

Just had a conversation with my dad who is always pesemistic(sp?) and has assured me that the next 18 months - 2 years will be the hardest financially, and that if we need any help we should tell him. and I just thought "I wonder what you'll make of us having another baby then?"

But hey ho, haven't gone back to work since having dd so I reckon, the closer we have them the less time there is before I go back to work! So in a way, having another is actually good financial sense.

My manic 2ww symptom spotting is going wild now btw

LollysMum1 · 07/10/2008 21:02
