Teeny, I'm in the same boat as you, DD was unexpected so its a first time of "trying" for me too. DH wants it to happen naturally ie not on a strict schedule but I'm a bit impatient for that so I'm planning on being "spontaneous" at the right times! Lillypie posted a link a few days ago with the technicalities on it.

Hello everyone, I am in a foul mood today wishing I was pregnant and having all the symptons despite being on my period - gah! Going to have big glass of wine later and make self feel better.

Also I had honest session with dh where I told him how stressful it is trying to get him to bd on the right day if it's midweek and we're tired and that we have to do it more and it shouldn't just be me trying to make it exciting when he wants children too and I always feel as if I am nagging him to do it. He promised to try to make this better.

I was a regular on Mumsnet a few months ago but decided to chill out about TTC for a while, but saw my doc on friday and it appears that the hormone imbalance that I had seems to have settled down so that's made me feel a lot more positive and determined. ps yellowflowers I know exactly how you feel, I sometimes don't know whether to mention babies before we BD cos don't want DP to feel pressured or feel like I only want him for his little men. I know that he wants a baby just as much as me but his attitude is so much more laid back than mine but it can be soooo frustrating and stresful when I think I'm ovulating but something comes in the way of us BDing.

Have just had first glass of grapefruit juice of this cycle. Am starting to quite like it.

yellowflowers I've never heard of drinking grapefruit juice before so just googled it and I'm now gonna go to Asda and stock up tomorrow! I'm taking pregnancy vitamins and evening primrose oil and also making a big effort to eat well so at least I know I'm doing what I can. Tryin to convince DP to at least cut down on the drinking and smoking but it's difficult to not sound like a nagging, wingeing, obsessed woman lol.

Hi TeenyTinyTorya! The cycle Length info is how long is it between your periods counting from the first day of your period. An average cycle is around 28 days and the best time to start trying is when your ovulating which is around the middle of your cycle, which in this case would be day 14, so you should start trying just before, from day 10 to about day 18. Obviously this is slightly different depending on your cycle.

Ive just had a miscarriage a few weeks ago, so been reading up loads, suppose to be waiting to my next cycle but so desperate to start trying again, especially reading every ones threads! Good luck to you all, hope you successful!!xx

July is actually a lovely month to have a baby, so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for this month.

I'm in the same boat as a few of you-dd was a complete surprise so we too are actually trying for the first time-and not really enjoying it much! Have been trying for a while now so it just makes us feel that dd was 'meant to be' more and more!
Dp took a while to get his head around having another one...i think he didn't realise it could take this long plus i don't think he was factoring in the whole 9 months to cook thing! DD is 2.2 now and i really didn't want a huge gap so kinda feel the pressure on a bit.....but like others i'm trying not to get dp worried...especially as he doesn't like the idea of really trying and feeling pressurised...little does he know

Hi Ladies, can someone please tell me about drinking grapefruit juice. Ive not heard of this before? When & Why should we drink it?

Well some websites say it is an old wives tale but drinking some every day in the run up to ovulation is supposed to increase your cervical mucus and make it easier for the sperm to swim up it.

also re grapefruit juice, you need to avoid it if on certain medications (heart ones I think but do check with dr) as it can interfere with how they work

morning ladies, I'm feeling so much more positive today. Was in agony yesterday with my AF and feeling extremely sorry for myself but much better today and quite looking forward to the month ahead.

I've been reading up on pre seed. Has anybody tried it ? There are so many success stories about women ttc for months and on the first cycle of pre seed they catch so am seriously considering investing in some.
Would love to know if anybody uses it ??

No problem yellowflowers - I probably did it wrong in the first place! Are you feeling in a better mood today? I'm always very down and negative for the first few days of my period and then it lifts a bit. I did complain to my DH last week that it was okay for him as he does not have to go through the emotional ups and downs of TTC he just enjoys lots of sex! (Although he is always disappointed when AF arrives)

So much better thank you. Had several glasses of wine with a friend last night and moaned about the friends who got pregnant first month of trying (this friend has child but he took some time to come along) and feel a lot better now. Except confused as period stopped after 3 days (which is pretty short for me) and breast still very achey. How you doing?
