Ahhh, look how nice and clean and new this thread is .

And there is a big ScaryHairy birthday cake for us all to share. I am not being good till after Thursday afterall...

ScaryHairy · 22/07/2008 15:47

Caitni - I curse Boots and their 2 for 1 on FR tests too. Sometimes I pee on them without realising and then think "why on earth did I do that?". Never mind about the BFN, you can have a guilt-free drink tonight and then get your BFP in a couple of days!

(BTW, it occurs to me you might find it hard to recognise us. Maybe we should have a password, but failing that I am wearing a black dress and peep-toe shoes).

Caitni · 22/07/2008 16:30

SH suddenly struck me I probably won't recognise you so thanks for the tip - I shall be the one wandering around staring at women's shoes (btw I'm in a black and white skirt, black top, grey cardie and, er, red handbag)

And glad to know I'm not the only pee-er on sticks

GorgonsGin · 22/07/2008 16:36

I'm in black trousers, a white shirt and black tank top.

But you'll no doubt recognise me by the Needler's Mark on my forehead (like a Harry Potter style Dark Mark, but for 2WW-ers )

ScaryHairy · 22/07/2008 16:39

At least 2 of you will be easy to identify from your red dot and air of calm.

I haven't forgotten what you look like Bucky, so I'll find you too!

Looking forward to a speedy exit in time for 5:34.

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 22/07/2008 17:16

Oh do you know what, completely forgot about drinks! Hope you are having a nice time!

Bucky2008 · 23/07/2008 12:55

Where is everyone today ?

OP posts:
GorgonsGin · 23/07/2008 13:01

I'm about! Was about to post earlier, but got distracted and now madly busy.

Lovely to see/meet some of you last night! Really enjoyed myself and feel rather good for four (?) G&T's in an evening .

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 23/07/2008 13:15

im here
sounds like you had fun GG
nothing much happening here except i am waiting for my phone call about my interview last week [nail biting emoticon] i havent got a good feeling about it really but who knows i could be wrong...wish me luck!!
xx ei xx

Madoldbird · 23/07/2008 13:46

I'm here too

Hope you all had a lovely evening last night Did you make any plans for the Brighton trip or we you all too busy drinking

EI sorry, didn't realise you had been for an interview last week. Hope they phone you soon (I always think it is the waiting around for a phone call that is the worst bit) Obviously hope as well that it's good news!!

PnM Hope you are ok? Haven't "seen" you about for a few days. Hope everything is ok with you. X

Madoldbird · 23/07/2008 13:51

BTW - from your descriptions of what you were all wearing yesterday, you are obv all glamerous women - so you must give me plenty of warning for the Brighton outing, so i can turn myself into a glamerous (sp???? - really can't work out correct sp) woman for the day!!!

ScaryHairy · 23/07/2008 15:25

Glamorous my foot (well the others were at least). Note to self: don't wear linen to work, particularly not black linen if you are then going to crawl around after child on fluffy carpet.

I had a good time yesterday evening, although cannot claim to feel terribly perky today (and am out again tonight - none of which is good for operation non-pickled eggs).

For those of you who didn't come Bucky showed us her war wounds, which are nowhere near as bad as she told us! (Although the Lap itself sounded less than fun.)

Lots of luck Ei
Are you feeeling a bit better this week MOB?

And are you ok, PnM? Spotted any more interesting nature-things?

Higs to you all.

Caitni · 23/07/2008 17:01

Hi everyone!

Have also been madly busy, though now our servers have overheated, poor dears, so we're all locked out of email and most of our shared drives...nothing for it but to check in on MN!

Was so lovely to meet some of you last night - though we missed MOB Ei PnM Citybranch - I felt perky this morning, bar the massive zit on my chin. Must be AF lurking...SH lol at you crawling around after DD in your gorgeous linen dress!

I have bruises on my tummy btw from the acupuncture. That can surely not been a good sign? They're tiny (and I do bruise easily) so perhaps all is fine.

Ei Fingers crossed for the job! I think a Sept meet up would be great

GG anymore swimming for swimmers going on? You're inspired me to check out swimming pool options in Brighton (the sea is a little "refreshing" to be swimming in for too long!).

higs to everyone!
C
xx

GorgonsGin · 23/07/2008 17:07

caitni - i am trying to get out for a swim tonight, but it is looking doubtful . It's going to be the wee small hours before I get out of here. Waiting for a call and then it's all systems go. I think the sea would be a little bracing for me too!

MOB - ha ha ha at me being glamerous, the others are thougha nd all have lovely handbags. I look permantently dishevelled. DH describes my hair (on a good day) as "straggly"

Scary have a great night out tonight - picked eggs LOL

Bucky - come back

Caitni · 23/07/2008 17:27

GG hope it's not too late a night for you. And your DH is so charming about your hair! It looked lovely yesterday...My DH has decribed my hair as "like velcro" (due to permanent halo of frizz rather than any sort of usefulness for sticking things together). I do hope any children take after him on the hair front lol
xx

Bucky2008 · 23/07/2008 21:43

Oh purleez....MOB don't listen to them, they are glamourous! . I however, do not wash my hair and had shoes that were stuck with PVA glue whilst other meet up attendees had SATC shoes and co-rodinated outfits that shamed me into getting my nail clippers out today
and actually filing my nails.

It was really good to meet up. Sorry for arriving at more like 18.14, than 17.34pm. Its a conspiracy...I am always late for MN meetups . SH is right my war wounds are not so bad....NOW..

Well just got back from yet another night on the sauce . I came home early tonight though before it got out of hand!

Um, I think I am about CD 27 today so AF should hopefully show in the next day or so. Then I can begin my pursuit of purity. Rick Gallop book at the ready and Mr Needles on speed dial.

PicknMix Where AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEeee you? Come back.

CityBranch You should have come out. It would have been good to meet you.

Laters poppets.

OP posts:
Bucky2008 · 23/07/2008 21:46

Oh GG hope you are not still at work .

Missed my bleedin train by .005 of a second and had to wait forever for the next one . I obviously did get home in the end yesterday though. I can only wonder at when Caitni got back to Brighton!!!

OP posts:
citybranch · 23/07/2008 23:05

I don't know where my brain was at, i didn't come online wed night and completely forgot that you mentioned the meet up!

PicknMix · 23/07/2008 23:35

Hellooooo!

Crikey, I haven't posted for ages but I am here, just the laziest WIMBEWAI[N]F member - my computer is poorly so have been checking up on you all via my mobile and, although I can read it all, it takes aaaaages to type a message and I wrote one the other day but then my mobile decided to reset itself [grrr] and lost it all!!

Sounds like you all had a fab time last night! I did consider jumping on a train so I could join in the fun but I realised I wouldn't get there until gone 8 and besides, my Dh bargained with me to go to the nature reserve with him again (aka bribing PnM with fish & chips)

Have had a very busy few days but I promise to catch up properly tomorrow - am in the 'green light' part of my cycle so off to bed now

Xx

PicknMix · 24/07/2008 17:26

Will be back properly later but had to share my angst with you - have just heard that my dh called his gp (as noone has called him re sorting out a referral for his sperm test & its been 2 wks!!) and not only has the referral not been recieved at the hospital (he ended up calling them direct) but the nxt available appt isn't until the 3rd of October.

Yep, u heard my right - the 3rd of October. I want to cry but I'm still at work.

Just to complete my shit day, they receptionist said that my dh is only pencilled in 4 the 3rd of October and if she can't get hold of the gp to confirm his referral then the appt will be put back even further.

Why, exactly do we bother?

Back later x

Bucky2008 · 24/07/2008 19:27

PnM my follow up appointment is the 18th of December . So sorry you have to wait that long....I know how you feel. Its like the whole world is trying to keep our babies from arriving. At least they are keeping each other company .

OP posts:
ScaryHairy · 24/07/2008 22:14

Am very busy tonight but just wanted to say PnM I am shocked it takes so long to get a sperm test appointment. Can you find out if they get last minute cancellations that your DH could go for?

And as for you, Ms Bucky, I still think you should see a private specialist - like this lot to get a proper answer about what is going on.

Higs to all. Speak later.

Madoldbird · 25/07/2008 07:47

PnM I am outraged on your behalf. Like i said before, it seems strange to have to make an "appt" for this - let alone having to wait this long. Is there any way you can afford to have a private SA done? I believe it is around £100 for a basic test (and from what i have read they can tend to be more accurate than NHS ones, as they have more time to analyse) You should NOT have to consider this option, but if you are faced with having to wait this long (over 2 months - absolutely crazy) then i suppose it is worth considering if at all possible. Of course, what i really hope is that you get a BFP and they can shove their tests where the sun doesn't shine. Hope you are ok - i really can understand how devestated and angry you must feel. Big higs.

Bucky Equal outrage on your behalf as well!!! Can't believe you have to wait that long for a follow up appt. It's just cruel to make people wait this long. I second SH's suggestion - that clinic looks fantastic, if it is an option for you. I guess you could also pay to see your NHS consultant privately to discuss results. Again, you shouldn't HAVE to do that. It's disgusting. Likewise i hope you get a BFP as well so tests can be shoved somewhere equally as painful.

Right, i'm going to have a cup of tea and calm down!!

Bucky2008 · 25/07/2008 09:22

Wow, you are very angry MOB . Thanks for looking out for us and the angry faces actually cheered me up in a warped kind of Bucky way .

Hope you are OK and have had some nice yummy biscuits with you tea. I am off to make mine now...If I get time to ring the hospital/92 Harley St later I will and I will let you know what they say.

OP posts:
GorgonsGin · 25/07/2008 10:06

Bl*dy hell picknmix!! . I can't believe what they are saying to you about a sperm test . It's a sperm test FGS! It takes about two minutes to do the sample (no assistance needed from staff) and ooooh, i don't know...say, less than an hour to analyse ! I am really and astonished on your behalf at the incompetance of some people (always in the public sector, don't get me started ) losing appointments/referrals and not being able to squeeze you in for months. (((((((((higs)))))))))) to you. It all seems so bl*dy hopeless when no one will do anything to help. Thinking of you.

It also makes me realise how lucky we are with the NHS. i thought we'd have to wait a few months, but we waited less than a month for ICSI referral and only three weeks for all our tests and cycle monitoring. WE get two cycles - not just one. Sometimes it was pretty chaotic and I am sure I will have my share of rants about the NHS, but with the exception if initialt dismissal from GP, they have been nothing but brilliant with us. We are with Imperial College NHS trust, part of Chelsea & Westminster (i think). It is so apparent from all your waiting times it really is postcode lottery on reproductive healthcare. From Bucky's six month wait for a follow up on fibroids to MOB's "not eligable" for IVF where she is, to 10 week wait for a sperm test makes me so for you all. I checked IVF criteria in my area and MOB you would get it on the NHS if you lived here .

Grrrr, sorry, rant over. I was getting all het up there for a minute

I can only post quickly, as I am dashing off again this time to Germany for the weekend (I know, I know....ei is going to laugh at me, that GG off on her travels again).

Wave to scary too

Nothing to report in any case. CD9 today, so I am getting into the zone. made Dh do the deed this morning jyust in case of early ovulation . I am back on Sunday so will look in then. Have a brilliant one everone and big (((((((((higs))))))))))) to you all.
