Ahhh, look how nice and clean and new this thread is .

And there is a big ScaryHairy birthday cake for us all to share. I am not being good till after Thursday afterall...

OP posts:
ScaryHairy · 15/07/2008 10:22

Good morning all WIMBEWAI(N)F- ers

MOB I am sorry those results aren't great, but clearly another test is in order, especially since it sounds like Mr Bird may have missed the pot a bit. Good on him for taking on the receptionist. Where do doctors find these charm school dropouts? You are absolutely not a fraud hanging around here. As a wise old bird reminded me yesterday, we WILL get there. One way or another you and your lovely husband will get your baby, it just might not be by the most conventional means.

Ei I am very glad the GP has apologised and that things are moving for you. It's just such a shame it has to be a struggle to get anywhere?

GG I hope you enjoy the acupuncture this afternoon. Are you going to see the same guy as me and Caitni? I think it's hilarious that they are getting a sudden surge in business from the WIMBEWAI(N)F club! Have you listened to your hypno CD yet? I just love the bit when she says "thaaat's riiight" - it sends me straight to sleep!

Bucky I am willing to bet that you can do reflexology and acupuncture together, although I would have thought there might be some overlap in what they aim to do so it is probably worth checking whether there is any point in having both.

Higs to Picknmix (you're being very patient about your DH's test, I would be biting someone by now), Caitni, Mibbes, Lou and lurkers.

I have started bleeding which I assume is my period, but my temp has gone back up to 36.75, which has me rather nervy and it still has not dropped below the cover line. I did an HPT to be sure and it is a very clear BFN. With any luck the temp is just a glitch and tomorrow it will go back to normal. This is almost an exact copy of my ectopic though: confusing test results before AF, BFN right before AF, AF a day late and continuing high temps. I just hope that this is nothing to worry about. Well actually I am mostly managing not to worry because there is nothing I can do anyway but it's not great...

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 15/07/2008 10:33

oh scary im so sorry just a thought hun with both of my CPs my temp stayed well above the cover line for about 3/4 days after bleeding started and then i had a dramatic drop to way below the cover line. im so sorry this is happening to you huge {{{{{{{{{{{{higs}}}}}}}}}}}}}} for you and you DH xxx
xx ei xx

ScaryHairy · 15/07/2008 10:44

Thanks Ei. Maybe it is 'just' a CP then. I could cope with that a lot better than another ectopic... It does seem more likely - particularly given that I did have positive HPTs and now they are totally neg. I guess it's statistically more likely too.

Caitni · 15/07/2008 10:50

Morning ladies,

MOB I am so sorry to hear Mr MOB's results, and that he had to struggle to see his own results. I agree with GG's advice about the andrology unit - that's what my DH did when he did his test and it is designed to, erm, aid the process as much as possible. It's worth implementing a sperm boosting diet before the next sperm test - maybe trying those smoothies. I'm thinking of you both at this time

SH I'm v at your CP - you poor thing, you've been through the wringer...but your BFP will come (and that is true of all of us). That is quite worring about your temp - keep an eye on it and trust your instincts if it doesn't drop properly and call the doctor/hospital.

GG I'm also off to the Helix Clinic this afternoon - I'm going to bunk off straight after so went for a later app than last week. Let's compare notes on the old flow of qi

Bucky hearing about Finn and Molly makes me - I love dogs. And flyball classes - well exciting! Can you tell that the flyball stuff is some of my favourite things to watch at Crufts??

to PnM Ei Lou Mibbes and everyone else. Today's my first day back at work since Thursday, so lots to do, but being currently internet-less at home means I've much to catch up on internet wise (on MN, Fertility Friend, gmail)... Move went really well - despite the sea of boxes we're still living in, the sea across the road is making up for it (helped by the glorious weather over the weekend!). The first commute to London went well today so so far so very good for Brighton. Ei I'd love love love if a BFP follows the move (I'm also hoping that the sea air has a beneficial effect )

Love to you all
xx

GorgonsGin · 15/07/2008 11:22

Caitni - my accupuncture appointment is at 3.15pm today at Exmouth Market. How funny! Wave if you see me in the waiting room! It is hysterical how business must have boomed for helix since they were endorsed by the WIMBEWAIF 2WW-ers . ha, I think that scary should be on a commission bonus for all her referals

scary - Like ei said, I'm so sorry this is happening to you. How is Mr SH doing? Are you going to make an appointment about getting a lap and dye?

Bucky - your posts always make me laugh so much!

i was at a BBQ last night and I maybe had one too many wines (and on a Monday too!) . I was trying to be good, honest, but I get bored when it's never my month and it was such a nice evening. DH stuck to his guns and drank alcohol free Becks all night. I have forwarded him the smoothie recipes, caitni, and he is going to try them .

hello to anyone missed and all lurkers out there.

GorgonsGin · 15/07/2008 11:33

Bucky - just ordered the Deepak Chopra book on Amazon. I need some positive thinking.

Scary - haven't listened to the relaxation CD yet. I forgot about it at the weekend . I'll need to wait until next weekend because want to do it when DH is out, so I don't hear him clattering dishes in the kitchen, playing music, screaming at the telly when the Grand Prix is on etc and I can really zone out.

Picknmix - i forgot to say hello to you in my other posts. How rude of me! It's funny (as in funny = peculiar, not funny = ha ha ha ha) thatso many of the 2WW-ers have had to go down the sperm test route. What a long, drawn out, frustrating process it can be just to test 2-5ml . Fingers crossed for your DH's results.

ei - thank goodness they are taking your complaint seriously. You go girl!

hello to everyone else

mibbes · 15/07/2008 13:27

LOL at cyber aunties GG ! I'm due 6th Dec, so definitely before santa comes ! Good luck this afternoon
MOB sorry that the results were poor and that you have been hit so hard by this - am so glad you have GG on here to help you out and share the rocky journey xx
SH fingers crossed for a big drop in temp tomorrow, you so don't deserve this worry
Right time - I am either missing something here or just being dim (I'll blame PG if that is the case !) but what on earth is WIMBEWAI(N)F ?...

Bucky2008 · 15/07/2008 14:58

Ahh Mibbster....see how much you miss when you stay away!

Where Is My Baby Exactly When All Is (Not) Fine - Club. We have a theme tune and everthing. If you go back to the last thread near the end you can get the whole episode rather than the highlights.

I missed you Exmouth Market Needlers again . Just met DG for lunch. GG I wish I had seen on here first, you could have come before your appointment! What day are we having drinks next week everyone?

OP posts:
Caitni · 15/07/2008 16:13

Exmouth Market Needlers - it has a certain ring to it me thinks...I'm off to my app at 4.45. I love that this guy is getting such a surge of great women and he doesn't even know the connection!

Mon, Tue or Wed all work for me next week - though if I had to pick one then Tuesday. I'm very much looking forward to meeting up with folks in real life

loustillwantsaBFPtoo · 15/07/2008 16:36

Hi girls, what a lot I missed!
Scary hugs for you.
MOB - I'm sorry it's not great news, but like you said 'it only takes 1' Thinking of you...
Ei - glad you got a response to your complaint, and they are going to help you now.
to Bucky GG PNM Caitni everyone i've missed and all you lurkers out there!

Mibbes - I cant think of a better christmas pressie! Hope everything is going well.

DH made his "deposit" this morning, so we are now waiting for those results now. Think he has 'recovered' now bless him...

GorgonsGin · 15/07/2008 17:20

meet up - I'd suggest next Tuesday (22nd July) for the Exmouth Needlers meet up. I imagine that's Bucky, Scary, Caitni and Gorgon and anyone else in the vicinity. Really looking forward to it.

caitni - I was staring very hard at the girl in the waiting room and wondering if it was you, but clearly not at 4pm! She must have thought I was off my head.

lou - I didn't realise your DH was also making a deposit at the sperm test bank (the bank that likes to say "yes...yes..yes, yes, YES!!!!" ). Fingers crossed for a good result.

Accupuncture was interesting! very relaxing and he is ever so nice. Was slightly alarmed at needles in face and i have a fetching red blob on my forehead, but hey ho. I could feel everythig tingling through it

ScaryHairy · 15/07/2008 18:44

GG The one on your forehead is to help you relax. Sometimes it makes me slur my words! LOL at TSB-like motto for sperm banks (TSB = Trusty Sperm Bank, possibly? ). I am seeing the GP tomorrow to ask for a referral. Not sure where it will get me but I just feel a bit abandoned. The hospital fix the ectopic and then send you home but I have a lot of questions. On the upside, at least we know I ovulate and that DH's swimmers work, so that's something.

(And how do you know I am not on commission? . Actually in these times of hyper inflation and credit crunch I rather wish I was...)

Tuesday might be a little tricky for me because there's something on at work, but I will do my best to fit both in.

Hi Mibbes how's the bump? I'm looking forward to getting cyber-auntie status too.

I hope your DH is ok now Lou. Perhaps there should be a "partners of WIMBEWAI(N)F members support group" at which they could compare depositing experiences...

Hope you're ok MOB and higs to you and also PicknMix, Bucky and Ei and anyone I have accidentally missed.

ScaryHairy · 16/07/2008 08:06

Morning
Good news - my temp has dropped.
Off to get fobbed off by the GP this afternoon.
See you all later.

Madoldbird · 16/07/2008 08:18

GG Thank you so much for your support I have your email address somewhere, from the arrangements about the last meet up, so i may contact you sometime, if that's ok. Wow - an indepth discussion about sperm - something to look forward to DH will make his deposit at home next time. (Got to be less stressful than public loos...) I can then "supervise" and make sure he gets every last drop in there! He can use a large receptacle, to make aiming easier, then transfer. (What a thing to be writing about ) Yes, it was ICSI that i was thinking of - i can't see any other possibility for us, to be honest. I am going to ring the PCT today to make enquiries about funding, but don't hold out much hope. I think the fact that i have children will be enough for them to say no. Also, at my age i don't want to be hanging around, as the success rates seem to drop dramatically in the late 30's. And to be honest, DH, at 50, wants to get a move on. We are resigned to the fact that we will have to go private (we will worry about being able to afford it afterwards) so will ask for that after the next SA. I'm glad your acupunture went well. LOL at you staring at that woman, incase it was Caitni!! We need WIMBEWAI(N)F badges

SH Thank you for reminding me of what i'd said to you, i.e. we WILL get there. I very much meant it when i said it to you, so it helps so much to have you say it back when i can't think straight ATM. You are lovely to be thinking of me when you are so worried about things yourself. Hope all goes well with the GP today. Hopefully he/she can be of help and offer support. How is your temp this morning? As EI said, it could well be the CP that is delaying the drop, but as Caitni says, do trust your instincts. My temps were very slow to drop this month (CD4, i think) although on reflection it is highly unlikely to have been a CP! Do let us know how you are today.

Caitni Glad the move went well. You are so lucky to be able to see the sea! That's quite a commute you've got there, but it sounds like it wasn't a problem yesterday. Thank you for the link to the smoothies - i have printed them out and he will be giving them a go!

Mibbes Hello to miblet from one of his/her cyber aunties

Lou Well done to your DH for making his deposit! Hope you get the results through quickly. LOL at him having "recovered"! Did you have to mop his fevered brow? I more or less did

Bucky Hope you had a lovely time with DG.How is she? She must have a sizeable bump by now!

Good morning to EI and PnM and anyone else my addled brain has forgotten.

I am feeling a little more positive today. I have decided that i really need to get my health and fitness sorted out ( i really need to lose approx 3 stone) so that i am in the best possible health to deal with the IVF etc that is now, i would think, inevitable. As i mentioned i am going to speak to the pct today, and also look at what private clinics we have around here. DH is really keen to make the most of ov, still, (which i think is today) managed yesterday morning and wants to go for it tonight. Can't knock his determination! Makes me love him more, that he is so positive about us having a baby. Talk about needing zimmers, though, i think his are going to need mobility scooters to get there

When is our Brighton meet up going to be? I know the 26th July was mentioned, but i think that it wasn't good for some people? I so want to be able to get there this time - DH is also insisting i go - he knows how much support i get from you lot.

Madoldbird · 16/07/2008 08:21

Morning SH cross-posts. It took me so long to write my mammoth post . That's great news - am so pleased your temp has dropped. Although it is horrible that you had a CP i am relieved that it is not another EP. Don't let the GP fob you off - you have had an EP followed by a CP - at the very least you need support and understanding, and of course monitoring. Good luck. X

JollyBear · 16/07/2008 11:33

Hello everyone,

What a sad time you've been having on here

SH I'm so sorry What a horrible thing to happen after your eptopic. I hope you had a good drink and a cry and are feeling more positive for next month.

MOB You are so lovely and always have a kind word of encouragement for others, I wish I could express myself as eloquently as you. I really, really hoped things would be OK for you . I'm glad you are feeling a bit better and more positive about things today. Those little fellows might still get there without the aid of a mobility scooter so don't give up!

GG Your DH is so sweet for making such a big effort with healthy eating and not drinking. I'm really glad he is firmly out of his cave at last. Have you managed to not to POAS?!

caitni Glad the move went well. I'm so jealous, sunny Brighton!

Big higs all round, I'll pop back when I have more time to say a proper hello to all you lovely ladies especially bucky, PnM, ei and anyone I've missed out

I love the song by the way, very catchy

Madoldbird · 16/07/2008 11:46

Don't believe it - now got abnormal smear test results - got to get re-checked in 6m. I guess this may affect ttc (& potential ivf) as well - i don't know. Even if i will need treatment in 6m, i wonder if it can be if possibly pregnant? Is anything ever going to go right?

Can someone have some good news please - to cheer me up?!

JB Lovely to see you - how are things? I hope the sickness has gone, and that you are able to enjoy your pregnancy. X

GorgonsGin · 16/07/2008 11:52

MOB - please email me, if I can do anything although it is a learning curve for me at the moment . My email address is my work one, so don't put anything very personal in the first email. My secretary has full visibility of all my emails, but after the first one I'll mark anything from you private and she won't see anything. I am pretty sure she knows something is up with DH and me because we haven't been that circumspect with emailing , but she's great and won't tell a soul.

I know that all PCT's have wildly differing criteria for selection of people for IVF/ICSI, but do check it out. We are Chelsea & Westminster NHS trust, so get 2 cycles on the NHS. Children from a previous relationship don't "count" for IVF (gosh that sounds terrrible ) DH and I are very lucky that we can afford to go private, but both our GP and referral hospital strongly recommended the NHS first because tests are charged for individually when you go private and become horrendously expensive, plus they really are world experts at ICSI at my local unit. I am 33 so no spring chicken, but in some ways I want the NHS delay. I want to use the waiting time to do everything we can to get fit, healthy and have a few last goes at TTC naturally. DH's count is very low, but morphology and motility are both good, so while these things are in the lap of the gods, there is a chance we can improve numbers and there is nothign wrong with getting our bodies and brains ready for the emotional and physical rolllercoaster of IVF.

scary - you go and kick ass at the GP, girl! You've had a rough old rid eof it recently with health matters and make sure he takes you seriously. Glad your temps have dropped. Glad you liked the TSB joke . Hope to see you next Tuesday at the drinks - will be great to catch up with you again

Bucky - sorry not to get back to you yesterday on email, Have been dashing about as usual.

CD28 for me today so AF about to rear her ugly head . No cramps or other pre-menstrual symptoms yet, but I have a feeling I may have ovulated a day or two later than normal this month, so not reading anything into the lack of anything spotted during knickerwatch . I have decided not to waste money doing POAS this month until i am a whole 10 days late (very unlikely!)

Happy Wednesdays to one and all.

Caitni · 16/07/2008 12:00

MOB Am glad to hear you sounding more positive and with plans. It's a great idea to get your health & fitness sorted - you'll feel better and know you're doing your best to help your baby out of the ether and into your arms! I started 2008 so well, eating & drinking wise, but have been beyond naughty recently. I think it's cos I expected to get pg sooner rather than later and am naturally a sweet toothy carb head who enjoys more than one glass of wine at a time...about you wanting to lose weight, I used to work in book publishing, so am sceptical of diets (they are mostly designed to make someone pots of cash!) but I swear by the low GI diet. Three years ago, I lost about 2.5 stone using a Rick Gallop book (and nothing else, bar walking more - no gyms etc) and have mostly kept it off. Am planning to go back on it, as have gained a bit of weight since I got married last year and want to nip it in the bud. But it's great because all the snacks mean you feel like you're eating loads!!

GG am glad the acupuncture went well. I hadn't realised the one in the forehead was to help you relax (I also had a nice splotch there on my way home). V funny picturing you in the waiting room

SH am so relieved to hear temp dropped - and hope GP goes well. Don't let them fob you off, you need advice. Will be thinking about you xx

Big hello to Ei Bucky PnM Lou and everyone else. I'm still without internet at home, so am having to fit my MNing into work hours (not good!).

I'm officially on my tww (4dpo), though this month I can't seem to summon the energy for it. I'd rather hear everyone else's symptoms instead!

Caitni · 16/07/2008 12:04

MOB just seen your latest post - I really don't know much about smear results but am that you have yet more to face. Big >> xx.

Bucky2008 · 16/07/2008 12:54

MOB hugs. Sorry you are getting all the bad luck at once! I found this useful website info about abnormal results, as I was wondering why you had to wait six months before you went back. On the positive side it seems that all could go back to normal so this is good...It was really the last thing you needed at the moment though, so I am thinking of you.

I will be at the hospital tomorrow so will be off the radar, but will catch up with you all on Friday when I will be feeling sorry for myself.

SH Glad you seem to be a bit brighter today. Hopefully all will go back to normal for you soon.

Caitni How was the sea this morning? I wish I was by the sea

Off topic....Molly has acne! The doctor actually said 'ah, Molly has acne'! . She has to take antibiotics for that and her kennel cough! I though Finn was being rough with her when they play, but no, acne it is.

OP posts:
Bucky2008 · 16/07/2008 12:56

Obviously I know my dog is not human and has a vet not a doctor...duh. Do you know, I am being such a bimbo at the moment, I even asked DP how long it would take to sail a boat from England to Lake Geneva!!

OP posts:
GorgonsGin · 16/07/2008 13:35

MOB - oh no, an abnormal smear is that last thing you need . have they explained any further to you. It sounds like they are monitoring the situation and don't see anything immediately alarming in the results if you have to go back after 6 months. GP sister says it happens a lot and not necessarily anything to worry about, they are just being extra careful.

Bucky - oh my goodness, I had nearly forgotten that tomorrow was your laproscopy. Wishing you all the luck in the world for a quick and painless procedure and that nothing is found. How are you feeling abotu it? Poor Molly Dog getting spots. I am that dogs can get acne. Does she that mean she could have PCOS too?

Jolly - how are you feeling my dear? You always write lovely posts to us and then brush over how you are doing. Has the sickness and hyperemesis stopped or at least eased a little? Do you have a jollycub shaped bump yet? Big wave and hug to you! We will be cyber aunties to jollycub too.

caitni - I am doing the Rick Gallop GI diet too and it seems to be working so far (early days though) - very easy to stick to which is good. Only week 2 of the GG's Bali Bikini Body Challenge (BBBC). I have until 27 August to get fit and slim. I have about a stone to drop, so might be able to do it in the six weeks I have.

hello to scary ei and everyone else

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 16/07/2008 13:57

hi ladies
SH its a good (sort of) sign that your temp is dropping back down to normal. dont let your GP fob you off!! you need closer monitoring and deserve the best treatment available. good luck with the doc
bucky you do sound a little bimbo-esque i have these moments quite often and my best friend is the queen of bimbo behaviour so you are in good company
MOB im sorry you have this to deal with hun FWIW i have had an abnormal smear result the first smear i had done and 6 months later the result was clear. try not to worry too much xx {{{{{{higs}}}}}}} to you xx
hi to everyone else

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 16/07/2008 14:02

i forgot to add bucky good luck for tomorrow we will all be there with you (in cyber-space) holding your hand
