Well, I'd like to start this thread by saying a BIG FAT CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who has managed to get their BFP so far, and an equally huge dollop of luck to all those of us waiting for our BFP's!

Lol NJ, I'm thinking punishment!

I certainly don't feel like I deserve any sympathy!

What are you doing today? Anything interesting?

OP posts:
NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 11:00

Pah, I said nothing about sympathy! (... only because I am of your power to drink!)

I was going to go into town and blow some dosh, but have realised DH has my switch card.... grrrrrrr. Don't like being stopped in my tracks! So plan now is DS2 has his sleep, we have lunch, wait to pick DS1 up, wait to do dinner, do dinner, wait for DH to come home so I can go to bed! LOL

How are you going to spend your skive day off?

Heebeejeebee · 09/07/2008 11:05

Morning all

I heart london too, but not in the rain! GYo walking across Waterloo bridge this morning was not fun... I used to live at the Oval and I don't miss the Northern Line one bit!!!!

Sorry about the BFNs, though I didn't get my BFP until 5 days after AF was due....

I'm glad I didn't read this post last night - I also heart wine but DH won't let me (zita west is a big old meanie).. Am due to ov either Monday or Tues, so am just limbering up for the weekend...

calsworld · 09/07/2008 11:12

I didn't mean that I thought you were being sympathetic (you meanie ) or that you were going to be sympathetic....I was merely indicating that I was highly suspicous that the cause of my nausea and dodgy bum were more likely to be related to the drinking than any pregnancy related status .

M'Lud.

GGGGRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN (that's a green with sick, not jealousy emoticon)

lastboxoftampons · 09/07/2008 11:12

Um...excuse me, Cal, but there are some non made-up Americans on this very thread!!!!!!!!! Speaking of being a stranger in a strange land, I have a question for you all - do you have to have a referral from your GP to see a gynacologist or can you just call one up and make an appointment???

Can't believe we're on page 4 of a new thread already! I didn't even realize the new one was almost full-up, let alone bursting!

calsworld · 09/07/2008 11:14

HBJB, I wish my DH paid that much interest! He's only got one role to play at this stage as far as he's concerned and it doesn't involve monitoring my drinking / eating / vitamin habits!

I wish he did though, it makes me feel like I want it more than him and I know that's not entirely true...

OP posts:
calsworld · 09/07/2008 11:20

LBOT, There was def. no offence intended, just an observation that there are words that exist in American english that don't in UK english, That's why we have different dictionaries on the PC isn't it

OP posts:
lastboxoftampons · 09/07/2008 11:27

None taken, I was just joking But for the record, addictable doesn't exist in the US either

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 11:32

LOL Poor Cal

Have got a major thread going, major most gigantic queries about coffee makers.... I need a latte, but one I don't have to think about getting! LOL

Starshinetiger · 09/07/2008 11:36

Have to say that the posts last night did all make me laugh - one of the reasons I love being part of this thread. Sorry to hear you're feeling rough Cals! Can I offer a perspective you probably don't want to hear? You sound more positive this month and in previous months you've mentioned pre-AF symptoms and none so far....
I think you'll be next!
Agree is miserable weather...
Oh and I am dying to shout from rooftops that I'm pg, but also very nervous that I can't be lucky with two good pregnancies and something is bound to go wrong... forgot just what a worry pregnancy is. Also, have forgotten everything - like what I can and can't eat. But am more relaxed about that than last time - which I'm sure is a good thing
Ah well, back to work!

kookykid · 09/07/2008 11:44

Poor Cal! Hope you feel better v soon.

LBOT I would think you have to see your GP to be referred, but not certain. Unless of course you go privately.

Star - how is your DH today. My DH had the same op a couple of years ago and drove me to distraction.

NJ - sorry about Switch card and lcak of shopping - can you do internet shopping with his credit card instead??

calsworld · 09/07/2008 11:45

Starshine - you can't eat brie, stilton or pate and I think the jury's out on peanuts if you've got allergies or something like that.

I'd forgotten about that side of pregnancy and am not looking forward to it this time either,

When I found out I was pg with DS, it was around my 30th birthday. Birthday on the Tuesday but having a party on Sat night with all my uni mates travelling in from around the country.... AF due Friday, tested got BFN, went out on Sat night - Jongleurs for meal and dancing after the comedians had been on, and by this point was convinced I was...then because we had a house full of people, DH wouldn't let me test again till Monday. Got my BFP three days post AF due date and day before my 30th...

To get to the point of all this...On the Tues DH had booked a restaurant, a spanish Tapas and I spent most of Tues trying to work out what I was and wasn't going to be able to eat, but by the time I got there I felt so sick I couldn't eat anyway!!

I also remember now telling DH all the way through pg that if he wanted more than one DC he'd better hope that DS turned out to be twins as I was never doing it again.

Must of been worth it eh!

I went and missed the love last night!!! Oh well if i get a bfn i'll be joining you on the drinking next week!! I'm getting tempted to test tomorrow morning.... was semi-tempted this morning but resisted!! although i dont know why as i'm certain i'm not pg!! I was hoping to wait till firday FMU but dont know if i can hang on another 2 days!!!! I'll be 10dpo today i think!!

calsworld · 09/07/2008 11:48

NJ, am amused at lack of card coz it means you'll have to stay in and harass GYo into testing entertain us!

OP posts:
NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 11:51

Hey Star, don't think I didn't pick up on the fact you ignored my WAG probing BTW, just because you got a BFP!!

Kooky, internet shopping just doesn't hit the spot (and you can't buy lattes over the internet, well you probably can from somewhere....

glaskham · 09/07/2008 11:57

i'm sure you can buy the machine to make it with though!!

actually i splurged a fair bit of money on the net yesterday!! I bought an indoor hutch for our rabbit (as the little bugger has decided to become a digger and i am so scared he'll dig a way out overnight!!) and also bought DH's bday pressy, Dsisters bday pressy, got DS some water sandals and a t-shirt, dd a cute little reebok outfit and then got myself some new house-pants!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 12:03

Am trying to find the 'right' coffee machine, I have a thread, no one is coming up with what I want though!

Am wondering if I should start on the straw again, if Diege is busy marking, she won't notice it creeping in through the window, surely?

glaskham · 09/07/2008 12:08

nah i'm sure she wont... you could sneakily sip it while she's busy!! then she'll just be so busy she'll think she drank it herself!!

I think the senso or tassimo is probs the best thing for you... the tassimo makes tea's and hot choc's too!!

glaskham · 09/07/2008 12:12

right i'm off to do the nursery run!!

oh and dd's check went fine- her vision is at the level of a 4yo!!!

calsworld · 09/07/2008 12:14

I've got a tassimo!

OP posts:
Diege · 09/07/2008 12:15

I can hear you!!!!
No coffee here I'm afraid...I'm at work today staring at a half full jar of cheapy instant . And no milk .

Diege · 09/07/2008 12:16

But I did have a gorgeous americano with cold milk this morning from Starbucks, with a skinny ginger muffin to ease my (non-existant) sickness if that's any help???

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 12:18

Cal, how much messing is using two pod thingymebobs for a latte?

I want to be able to put a cup under it, press a button and collect my latte when it's done..... LOL

May be joining you Diege, think I am going to start yelling if I don't get a coffee soon! LOL

This isn't good whilst pregnant is it?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 12:19

... of all the days for him to walk with my card I might decide there is an emergency to get him home in a bit! LOL

Diege · 09/07/2008 12:22

God I really want a coffee now. I'll be intersted in your coffee maker research. I'm after a one-cup do-dar that I just put the coffee in the top, it makes bubbly noises, and then pour it out. Is that a perculator? So what's the difference with a cafetiere?
Arghhh, this is too distracting, there are children waiting for me to decide their futures and I am discussing coffee
