Well, I'd like to start this thread by saying a BIG FAT CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who has managed to get their BFP so far, and an equally huge dollop of luck to all those of us waiting for our BFP's!

Nat - what type of coffee machine are you after I own 3! A small gaggia for real caps and lattes, a pod machine for instant quick no mess coffee and a lovely cuisinart filter coffee machine that grinds the beans and does everything which I also love.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 12:25

LOL coffe is far more important!

I think a cafetiere is where you filter the coffee through the thing you push down on (bare with me) a perculator just brews the coffee and keeps it warm (I think).

All I want is one that will froth and drop, is it too much to ask? (I managed to find a man that does it, surely a machine exists as well? )

Playingthe9monthwait · 09/07/2008 12:25

Oh and LBOT, as far as I am aware you always have to be refered to see any kind of specialist. I have even had to be refered to get a private apt before.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 12:27

I want a froth and drop one

No seriously, I want one that I can put the cup under, press a button and go back for my latte when it beeps me or something!

Just like you know those vending type machines ones, but with better coffee.

That I don't have to strip down to the bare mechanics to clean.

And that doesn't take 2 days to set up one cup of coffee.

Thinks that's the list of requirements!

Diege · 09/07/2008 12:30

Eww Nat you've put off coffee now with the though of your dh frothing and dropping (or am I being filthy minded??) Did you just mean he makes your lattes???
On the referral front (rapidly changing subject)I have self-referred for private services before (eg. nuchal last time around) and I think Kings also take self-referral for CVs's and the like?
Right, am going to get some cheese and onion crisps from the vending machine to put in my butty and maybe even a naughty can of diet coke???

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 12:33

LMAO

calsworld · 09/07/2008 12:43

DE? Get you!

We're king sized tubs of kenco from costco in this house!

The tassimo is OK, but a bit fiddly, you have to fill the water, put the pod in, press the button, it heats enough for one cup, then puts the coffee in the cup, then you swop the pods for a latte one and it does the same, you have to press the button again to make it do the latte bit.

Probably cheaper and easier to buy one of those latte whisks...my mate has one and swears by it! like this

OP posts:
calsworld · 09/07/2008 12:44

Also, have heard complaints that tassimo and senso don't brew the coffee hot enough - I don't mind that but there we go.

Early symptom
Wanting to eat everything in sight? but feeling sick at the same time....?

Now I must be imagnining it.

Starshinetiger · 09/07/2008 12:46

And here's me worrying about whether I can have two cups of coffee a day! Your DH "frothing and dropping" did make me laugh too NJ. These threads have really lowered the one of my mind, I've decided.
NJ - sorry I ignored your WAG comment yesterday, it really made DH and I laugh, but I was dashing off to shopping and forgot. Noooo, definitely not a WAG (although I could shop like one if I had the dosh, but I most definitely don't have the figure). DH is a sports centre manager and used to do lots of exercise before a) he hurt his knee and b) met me!!! Anyway, I've decided that GOFing is the best exercise ever, so will just try to keep that up (no pun intended)
Stick to your search for an easy coffee machine NJ - I have one, but it's too fiddly for regular use - I definitely need a Tassimo or something similar.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 12:47

Oooooh no it has to be HOT!

DE is the best instant you can buy IMO, almost hits the spot! Even the decaf isn't too bad...

Starshinetiger · 09/07/2008 12:47

GYo - cross posts before. You know you should be testing with a symptom like that!

GYo · 09/07/2008 12:48

lol thanks Star- I will.. (i am being egged on by everyone) but still nervous. Silly.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 12:49

LOL at 'Anyway, I've decided that GOFing is the best exercise ever, so will just try to keep that up'

Ahhhhh thought I'd spotted a MN schleb there for a minute!

GYo, deffo good sign Have you tested yet?

GYo · 09/07/2008 12:49

another things that is really silly

I do yoga on Thurs eves- I've missed 3 wks for various reasons so keen to go tomorrow. Dont want to test then realise I cant go...

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 12:50

You'll have to swap for pregnancy yoga

GYo · 09/07/2008 12:50

no not tested yet Nat...
I will, I will......

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 12:51

Now?

Playingthe9monthwait · 09/07/2008 12:52

Nat - none of mine will be approriate for you then. The gaggia is an old fashioned one where you have to do it all yourself, which I love, but then I used to work at starbucks when I was at uni back when they used real machines . I think you can get machines that do it all for you but they are likely to be very expensive!

GYo · 09/07/2008 12:55

LOL I have meetings sadly. though it could be quite fun to POAS then take it to the meeting in my bag and sit and peer at it.

Not sure meeting would be productive

Ive got a classic gaggia too, where we have to do it manually (so to speak). Its great but a faff. We had those machines your talking about Nat at work in my last office. Had a mini fridge on side for a huge carton of milk. Was really very good [grin[

Playingthe9monthwait · 09/07/2008 13:01

I agree GYo they are a faff, but I actually quite enjoy all that stuff. I must have a perverse sense of pleasure!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 13:10

LOL Playing, wait till the baby is here, then you won't want all the faff!

GYo, you're letting the side down, you need to test young lady!

DH works with the comercial coffee machines, you'd think he could get us one wouldn't you?

Starshinetiger · 09/07/2008 13:12

GYo - excuses, excuses, excuses! You definitely have to buy a test on the way home so you can test FMU tomorrow! And you can still do yoga while pg, there are just certain exercises to avoid - shoulder stand I think is one and any that might adversely stretch your uterus area, but they say that if you have been doing exercise before pg you can carry on. I was a gym-goer before I got pg first time and I carried on going for first few weeks of pg, until I was too sick to go. Then I went back again at about 16 weeks when sickness subsided. No excuse not to test is good enough for us you know!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 09/07/2008 13:17

It's no use Star, she is hiding in meetings..... tut tut tut

...probably drinking latte's, and shagging Nadal, and being much more use than me, and oh sod it am of anyone who actually has something to do this afternoon! LOL

Heebeejeebee · 09/07/2008 13:18

PMSL at this thread and I'm supposed to be working!!!! People keep asking me what I'm laughing at. I'm having trouble convincing them that I find my job so amusing!!
