After 18m persuading DH, we are finally (v gently ) TTc no 3.
As I am now 35, am convinced my fertility days are behind me.
Anyone in a similar position and needing to share support?

now see, this is why you shouldn't test early

DarrellRivers · 28/08/2008 09:18

funny isn't it, being really pleased for people you've never met

OP posts:
DarrellRivers · 28/08/2008 09:19

i think i test early because then it stops me testing when it really will be negative-denial
can't believe it, can't believe it,
now keep all digits crossed that everything sticks

I was thinking last night it's not like everything will magically be perfect when I get a BFP, there are so many other things to worry about. But I'm really pleased I reached 'first base' so to speak, I was psyching myself up for tests to show something was dreadfully wrong.
The fervent knicker checking will continue for some time yet.

beanieb · 28/08/2008 09:30

Congratulations Darrell and Spangle

SpangleMaker · 28/08/2008 09:36

Thank you beanieb your turn will come soon, I'm sure. You really deserve it.

It wasn' to be for me this month but I kind of knew that anyway - AF made an appearance nearly a week behind schedule.

numpty1972 · 29/08/2008 17:54

congrats all of you that got bfp. just got back from my mini break feel shattered and very nervous as i know that we have done all the bd that can be done this month, it gonna be a long 2 weeks till i found ouy if we have made it this month!! been trying for 3 years now and i'm getting tired of constant dissapointment. gonna be 36 in couple of weeks not sure if my time is over, espesially with his low motility not sure what chance we have!!

fifitot · 29/08/2008 18:12

ClairePO · 30/08/2008 08:37

Wow go away fro a week and you all get pregnant! Congratulations to you all! It really is great news

I got my period on day 31, so I'm back to CD6, cycle 12, still trying for our first.

beanieb · 30/08/2008 08:55

Period came, giving me a perfect 28 day cycle for the first time in living memory!

ClairePO · 30/08/2008 13:19

I'm sorry she got you Beanie

We're in very similar situations, starting cycle 12 ttc our first.

At the moment I'm thinking it won't ever happen for us, I've even had a lurk on the adoption threads this morning.

Being the wrong side of 35 sucks.

missEdith · 30/08/2008 13:26

hi all sfx in disguise

sorry about the AF arrivals best of luck for next time, it can be quite heartbreaking

am still feeling unsure it is so early still and am a bit lost it is very hard not to feel excited and hopeful
I guess I need to leave it up to fate, I find myself avoiding the toilet so as to keep away from that heart stopping moment when the blood comes sorry I am clearly feeling hormonal

pregnancies after miscarriages are never easy are they? took me ages to relax when I was pregnant with dd

oh well sorry about the me me me post just feeling anxious and hard to find someone to tell
thanks for listening

DarrellRivers · 30/08/2008 14:19

Hello all
I can't keep away, and have been up and down emotionally as had some spotting last night
Had chemical pregnancy last year, so am worried may be same, although this time no cramps which is good
sfx, it's hard isn't it, going to the toilet and checking for blood each time

OP posts:
missEdith · 30/08/2008 14:22

sorry about the spotting Darrel chances are everything is ok
but it is so so hard I try to keep my mind off it but not being very successful

really should go for a walk with dd to the park it is nice and sunny
wish dh was around but he is working today

bit od hand holding

DarrellRivers · 30/08/2008 17:42

thanks for the hand holding, it's so difficult, you can't tell anyone how you are feeling
I have managed to distract myself today by going out and about, and feel a little better, and keep thinking, whatever will be, will be
sending you hand holding back

OP posts:
ClairePO · 30/08/2008 17:50

Fingers crossed for you Darrell, how many weeks are you? About 4-5? They do say you often get spotting about then anyway. I hope it all turns out OK.

missEdith · 30/08/2008 17:53

just got in too walked about by the river and the gardens with dd

it is a waiting game really isn't? have posted on antenatal thread but think will leave it for a while.
I have told my sisters which helps, they are used to this by now

DarrellRivers · 30/08/2008 17:54
