After 18m persuading DH, we are finally (v gently ) TTc no 3.
As I am now 35, am convinced my fertility days are behind me.
Anyone in a similar position and needing to share support?

wondermum, with my first it took us 6m, our second, 1m,then we had a slip up last year, the cp, and finally after a year of persuading DH we have been sort of trying for 3m.
I think it does vary from person to person and from pregnancy to pregnancy
and good luck with the pregnant friends thing, my little sister is pregnant as well as one of my best friends (accidentally no3)
it makes you so

Congratulations Slippers well done!! Has it sunk in yet??! Good luck with your pregnancy x

wondermum sorry to hear you've had such an awful time

beanieb have you managed not to test yet? darrell how about you, was your sneaky test too early do you think?

I'm in sitting-on-hands mode - AF was expected Sun-Tues but not shown as yet. Frustratingly I've been sleeping erratically so my temps have been all over the place, so not really any clues there. I've had slightly sore boobs for a week now but no other symptoms.

Found out the other day from a friend who works in a local GP surgery that my PCT offers NO help with fertility problems. Not just no IVF, but no blood tests, no clomid, no semen analysis, NOTHING! Bloody postcode lottery - so much for promoting patient choice

beanieb · 27/08/2008 11:06

Hey Spangle

not tested yet. Lastnight I brought my trial clearblue test and my normal clearblue test up into the bedroom thinking I might test this morning but then my OH was feeling unwell and I didn't want to wake him to do the test and then possibly disappoint him so I have decided to do it tomorrow which is when FF suggested. Thogh I am now thinking maybe wait until the weekend!

Like you I have slightly sore boobs. I rarely get period pains and symptoms but do sometimes get a paiin on the side of my boobs. I right now have a weird ache in my armpits.

Sorry to hear about the GP that's terrible.

SpangleMaker · 27/08/2008 11:28

I thought about testing this morning but used up my FMU in the night (sorry if TMI). Also I keep swinging between desperately needing to know one way or another, and not being able to face a BFN. Aaaaarrghh!!!

beanieb · 27/08/2008 11:46

I'm with you on that one Spangle. If I get a BFN then I will have to accept it I know, but delaying it somehow helps!

SpangleMaker · 27/08/2008 11:59

DH doesn't think I should test until the weekend - whaaat?! He is the sort of person who gets an interesting-looking letter in the morning and leaves opening it until the evening. I am NOT like that

Jools1 · 27/08/2008 13:00

Many congratulations to Slippers

Beanie and Spanglemaker - I am soooooo impressed at your self control and not testing - fingers and toes crossed for you here

I have to confess to doing a test 2 days AFTER AF finished - I knew what it would say, but AF was only 2 days long and really really heavy, and my boobs didn't go back to their pre-OV state straight away and I was still feeling a bit nauseous and dizzy from time to time, so I could hear this little voice in my head saying "implantation" - the rational side of me knew it wasn't true, but I had to test anyway and get the BFN, just to keep my imagination in check

beanieb · 27/08/2008 13:37

just reposting this site spangle posted earlier.

My boobs do hurt a bit more now and I have masses of saliva!

missEdith · 27/08/2008 14:26

I there everyone sfx in desguise

apparently not all on my mind and I get a BFP

am shaking in my boots and obsessively checking my knickers

I have more experience of failed pregnancies than successful ones so here is hoping and knickers checking

I will now go 'underground' until I feel able to join an ante natal group

best of luck to you all from the bottom of my heart

missEdith · 27/08/2008 14:26

I got that is

Jools1 · 27/08/2008 14:33

Delighted to hear your news You sounds like you are in shock, in a good way

I'm 39 in Nov and trying for my first, so am loving hearing positive stories :D :D

many congratulations

beanieb · 27/08/2008 14:35

OH! CONGRATULATIONS So pleased to hear this. Many many many best wishes for the next few months

SpangleMaker · 27/08/2008 16:02

CONGRATULATIONS
so happy for you
very best of luck for a happy & healthy pregnancy x

DarrellRivers · 27/08/2008 17:54

congratulations sfx
those were symptoms and not imagination
spangles, hopefully CD26 was too early
Still some high temps and fertility friend states have got triphasic pattern so some hope left
would prefer to leave it much later to test, as am enjoying the not knowing and hoping rather than the disappointment of a bfn

I know what you mean, am planning to test tomorrow but might see if I can hold out until Friday as that would definitely make it my longest cycle ever.

Only having the one test is also helping although I did have a brief moment of madness when I wondered whether to have a go with a spare OPK (they can be used as crude HPTs). But I was strong

beanieb · 27/08/2008 18:47

I think we've decided I should test tomorrow. OH says 'what's the worst that could happen?'. Now I am thinking I should go by my longest recent cycle which was 30 days 2 months ago, though last month it was 26(am on day 26 now) and the month before the 30 dayer was around 24 which is usual for me. Gaahhhh! I guess I should test tomorrow as FF said I should.

SpangleMaker · 27/08/2008 18:57

beanieb, your OH is right really, BFNs are awful but they don't change the facts. I think I will probably test tomorrow too.
Aaargh I'm nervous now, thinking about testing!

Good luck x

beanieb · 27/08/2008 19:08

good luck to you too! I'll be up at 7.20 if not before, doing a knicker check and then .... GULP!

...and if my period comes then cest la vie... here's hoping for us both.

beanieb · 28/08/2008 07:51

'not pregnant'[ just waiting for my period to arrive now.

SpangleMaker · 28/08/2008 08:54

beanieb hope you're ok.

I was lying in bed wondering whether to test or not this morning, thinking about how much we put ourselves through each month, it really is tough.

Anyway I plucked up my courage and tested and.... BFP!! Can't believe it, I thought it was never going to happen! I know it was only 8 months and many others have waited longer but I was really beginning to think something must be wrong down there.

KatieMorag · 28/08/2008 08:55

congratulations

DarrellRivers · 28/08/2008 08:59

beanieb
