After 18m persuading DH, we are finally (v gently ) TTc no 3.
As I am now 35, am convinced my fertility days are behind me.
Anyone in a similar position and needing to share support?

Jools numpty
it's the pits isn't it?

I can't believe how our bodies can behave exactly as if they are pregnant when they're not. If our minds can create sickness, sore boobs etc etc why can't they will the sperm to meet the egg??

numpty1972 · 21/08/2008 18:49

i'm a bit concerned that maybe my yukky mucas is maybe attacking his sperm, i mentioned this to quak, but he just ignored my concerns, thought they would at least test even just to put my mind at rest!! got my scan tommorow to find out if i'm ovulating after second course of clomid, dreading wot they gonna tell me!! does anyone know if caffine is that bad for fertility? oh god how do i chill out and stop stressing over this? wish i ould have a stiff drink!!!!!!! but i won't. how are you all geting on?

SlippersAndPipe · 21/08/2008 19:05

There must be this weird bug going round this thread = sore boobs, slight sickness etc. I have been convincing myself I have pg symptoms too. Am CD29 and awaiting AF any time in the next couple of days.

Spangle glad your miowcat is ok.
Numpty vent away

Jools (hugs). Hope the gym session helped.
Beanieb I am so good and still do not have any tests in the house . Am awaiting delivery of the Clearblue from the MN thread though.

Good luck all and stay positive

SlippersAndPipe · 21/08/2008 19:07

Good luck tomorrow Numpty. Excess caffeine isn't too good I think. Hmmmm...how to relax. Think we all need to go and stroke cats.

numpty1972 · 21/08/2008 19:29

thanks, i forgot to find out if it the same as a pregnancy scan and if i have to drink loads of water and not pee! that gonna be hard i always need to pee. my ibs is playing up a bit this week which doesn't help! spangle glad your cat ok. don't have any pets cos he wants a dog and i want a cat, so we will prob end up getting a waterdragon! the only pet we can agree on!!. i hope i'm just not too old to concieve, he really would love a child of his own and if i can't give him that then i would't blame him if he wanted someone who could! but i really do't want to loose him! supposed to be getting married next year, but i'm happy to delay wedding to have a baby instead!! fingers crosssed for us all, hope i get one of those cb tests applied last week, not sure if i applied in time tho. will try and stay positive.

sfxmum · 21/08/2008 21:25

Numpty I am sorry I too get driven slightly mad ttc guess that is why it took me so long to embark on this adventure again
best of luck for tomorrow

numpty1972 · 21/08/2008 23:16

does anyone know if it is possible to ovulate early, i am on cd9 and getting pain on left side, and my mucas is how they say it is supposed to be like when you ovulate but i can't help thinking that it a bit early to ovulate on day 9!!!! if it is poss then maybe that why it hasn't happened yet, we have been doing it at the wrong time of the month! oh i don't know if it poss.

beanieb · 22/08/2008 08:22

it is possible, I ovulated on day 11 last month - usually it's day 15. Not sure why though!

wasabipeanut · 22/08/2008 09:27

Numpty I think we can all be forgiven the occasional vent! I'm only on month 1 and already I'm going round the bend.

Jools I'm so sorry to hear that AF is approaching. I am only just starting to understand how the mind can play some really evil tricks on the body.

Still waiting for my AF but have stopped testing like a loony.

I know it sounds a bit silly but is there any point with a missed AF you should go to a doctor? Seeing as I'm not pregnant then I am a little bit concerned about why my AF has just seemingly skipped a month. This hasn't occured in my entire adult life. I nearly bought an early menopause testing kit in Tesco this am but didn't have enough cash on me.

What do you think? I don't want to pester the doc but I know my own body and this is is distinctly strange.

numpty1972 · 22/08/2008 10:42

well i had my scan, i will be ovulating early over the weekend, apparantly i got 2 eggs this month!! just hope he can fertilize at least 1 of them when only 30% of his little fellas swim forwards!!! he has this week of work so i will keep him busy at least every other day, with low motility we can't risk doing every day can we? anyone know if that true, feel a bit more positive today as i know i an definately ovulating, it up to him now! and he refuses to give up smoking to hep our chances, which means we won't be allowed ivf. fingers crosssed eh? wasabipeanut sounds like you shoud go to your quack if you worried at least to put your mind at rest. thankyou so much everyone for all your kind words and support.

wasabipeanut · 22/08/2008 10:51

Numpty thats good news - I find it so amazing that they can tell how many eggs you are releasing and when!

Medical science is quite cool sometimes me thinks.

sfxmum · 22/08/2008 10:58

good news numpty now go get busy missy

round here feels not feeling much like anything really still just under a week to AF, so will just try and enjoy the weekend go out do gentle jogging visit friends have a small drink and try to block it out

dd keeps saying there is a baby in your tummy, but that is because quite a few of her friends just had or are about to have siblings, she is also frequently pregnant

Jools1 · 22/08/2008 11:30

Morning all.

Enjoyed a glass of wine last night and was relieved to be able to take Nurofen for a headache !

I was still experiencing dizziness and nausea this morning - found out today that a colleague has been off-sick with a bug like this, so maybe I've got a mild dose too and that explains some of my perceived pg symptoms !

I definitely had unusual cramping and ovary-ache though, so am trying to work out whether the body really is that good at tricking the mind, or if something did happened - a failed implantation perhaps - who knows !

AF is being really nasty aswell - more painful than it has been for years and redefining the meaning of "heavy" - yuk It feels as if my PMS hormonse have only just kicked in aswell - OH came back with chocolate and sympathy last night and I sobbed my heart out for a while - better now though

Will drink wine tonight and start planning a BD fest !

KiwiKat · 22/08/2008 14:00

Just been catching up over the threads from the last few days, and it sounds like everyone's having a bit of a rough time of it - sorry to hear that. Jools, I really thought that this might have been it for you this time. Numpty, had no idea they could tell you about the number of eggs etc. Wish your DP could kick the smoking habit, but hopefully this weekend you'll have luck with those two eggs. What would you say if you conceived twins!! Let's hope we all make the most of the long weekend and have some results to show for it soon!

SpangleMaker · 23/08/2008 12:00

Morning ladies

Thought I'd pop in and wish everyone a fab bank holiday weekend - amazingly the sun is shining!

Slippers - has AF arrived or have you tested yet?

Wasabi, how about you? I'm sure you're fine, but maybe best to see your GP just to put your mind at rest rather than worry yourself too much.

Numpty, hope you're getting busy this weekend!

My period is due anytime from Sunday - Tuesday. I'm going to be away & staying with friends over that time so I won't be tempted to test, planning to hang on til Thursday although I fully expect TEW to arrive before then as I have no symptoms whatsoever.

Hi to everyone else

SlippersAndPipe · 23/08/2008 12:33

Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine on this BH weekend.

Spangle CD31 now and no AF as yet. The last two month I've had a 29 day cycle, and the month before was 31 days. The longest in the last six months was 34 days. Will test excitedly on Tues if nothing by then (or maybe wait til Thurs to test together). I still don't have any tests in the house (what willpower!).

Numpty sounds like you have a fun week ahead . Glad all went well. Twins....that is a thought...

SFX pmsl at your dd being pg

Jools enjoy the wine and chocolate. It is well deserved.

beanieb · 23/08/2008 12:47

Am also due to test between Sunday and Tuesday altough Fertility friend is telling me Thursday. Am on CD 22 of a 24 day cycle but only 7DPO so really I should wait. Doesn't help that I have 3 Clearblue tests in teh house! One digital and two 'normal'

will resist though - I have to!

SpangleMaker · 23/08/2008 14:09

I think Darrell said she was waiting until Thursday too. Here's to a bumper crop of BFPs!

DarrellRivers · 23/08/2008 17:50

Hello everyone again
Fingers crossed for all approaching the end of their cycle.
I am CD26, 11DPO, and am now feeling really PMTish, tired, grumpy and sore boobs.
Am trying to hold off until Thursday to test as per spangles, as that is CD31 (my cycle is 30ish days)
Will be sitting on my hands, although am also off for a few days until wed pm which should keep me occupied
I have decided that the more symptoms that I have, the less likley I am to be pregnant in order to maintain sanity
Am addicted to fertilityfriend currently comparing similar charts to mine (v addictive)
Have a lovely bank holiday weekend everyone

OP posts:
beanieb · 25/08/2008 17:58

cd 24 and 9DPO. Please stop me testing until Thursday!

If I don't get pregnant this month I will be taking some time off from the TTC forums.

Jools1 · 25/08/2008 18:48

Good luck Beanie - will be thinking positive thoughts for you

I'm only CD5 now, so will just site back and watch all the BFP's roll in for a while

SlippersAndPipe · 26/08/2008 10:08

Am CD34 which is my longest cycle for over 6 months. Have just bought a pg test and am sat here staring at it and gearing up to have a wee......

sfxmum · 26/08/2008 10:13

hello all

am on CD28 of a 30 day cycle waiting patiently no symptoms but I guess I will just have to wait and see

beanieb · 26/08/2008 10:17

Slippers and pipe - good luck.

Am still resisting testing. Boobs seem big but I feel I must be imagining it or be about to get my period!

SlippersAndPipe · 26/08/2008 10:17

I'm pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
