After 18m persuading DH, we are finally (v gently ) TTc no 3.
As I am now 35, am convinced my fertility days are behind me.
Anyone in a similar position and needing to share support?

stop googling

wasabipeanut · 20/08/2008 13:55

I know, I should know better shouldn't I? It would be the 1st piece of advice I gave anyone else.

ClairePO · 20/08/2008 15:45

Sorry that everyone seems to be going through it a bit emotionally I hate the few days before my period is due with a vengeance. Mother Nature does like to play tricks doesn't she

summerbird · 20/08/2008 15:54

Hi guys am back from hols, good news about dharma and as for you jools i am still keeping an open mind about you lady!

on the 2WW now, we didnt get up to anything in the tent as it was too cold and icky but we made up for it in our posh hotel!

Jools1 · 20/08/2008 16:40

Shame about the rain - posh hotel sounds good though

Well, I was going to go Spinning tonight, but came over all peculiar and dizzy again at lunchtime as I had a long meeting and didn't get to eat till late. I've now got pains in my left lower back (left ovary ??) so am just going to pack up, go home and crash out with the cats, thinking serene and pregnant thoughts

beanieb · 20/08/2008 17:35

"I know it doesn't help but stress holds back AF arrival"

I read that once you have ovulated stress won't delay your period so if it is delayed it's more likely to have been a stressful time before you ovulate. I think it was in 'understanding your fertility' by Toni Weschler (sp)

sfxmum · 20/08/2008 19:46

that is interesting beanie I always find that times of stress and major change tends to mess with the cycle

yesterday I had a bit of a difficult time just considering the 'what ifs' stupid I know but we were briefly talking about Christmas and we usually spend it at my inlaws as do their other children

well this year my BIL got married and as I understand it babies are planned, which is in part why they married after some years together

the thing is I don't think I can go there if she is pregnant and I am not it is terrible of me I know, I have friends who are pregnant and it is ok but somehow imagining that made me feel very sad.

so stupid, she isn't as yet afaik but the possibility really got to me

summerbird · 20/08/2008 19:54

sfx do you think it is because they just got married this year? two girls i work with who got married at the same time as me are now both 6 and 4 months PG and i am so it is unreal, they keep giving me the pity eyes and saying 'it will be you next' just dont say it!!

you cant really avoid it and i know it is hard but you will have to bear it out for your family's sake - and you never know by then you may be keeping a little bean warm yourself!

sfxmum · 20/08/2008 20:00

oh I know it was just a sudden feeling and I guess I can get prepared and ready just in case there are news by then, she is supremely organised so I guess it is all in 'the plan' [bitchy emoticom] she is also 10yrs younger than me
last Christmas I had just miscarried and it was hard having all baby talk avoided around me

point is the poor girl is nice and am sure it will be lovely but I was surprised by the sort of grief I felt at the mere possibility

anyway thanks for sympathy to my nonsense
clearly am hormonal

summerbird · 20/08/2008 20:02

i must be hormonal too as i am completely with you!

sfxmum · 20/08/2008 20:07

I briefly told this to dh and was met with total bafflement, but why? what difference does it make? why her?
at least I wasn't crying when I told him about it

not something one can explain is it?

ClairePO · 21/08/2008 10:02

Any news today? [hopeful smiley]

Last day at work before holiday have done all ironing so all I have to do tonight is paint my toenails! Will do a test in the morning, will be 13dpo and using a CBD - that should tell me for definite shouldn't it? I normally have a 14 day luteal phase.

Jools1 · 21/08/2008 10:10

None from me ! (but no news is good news )

Since I got a BFN yesterday morning at 13 DPO, I thought I'd try and wait till tomorrow before testing again.

Still no AF (now 2 days late), but more brown CM appearing today. So, it could be pre-AF or it could be implantation I guess. Still no PMT, huge boobs and bloated tum (or it could be all the crap food I've been eating when I've been feeling sick and tired in the afternoons this week

I just wish the witch would hurry up and arrive so I can get back to the gym and resume my diet

wasabipeanut · 21/08/2008 13:02

Hi all,

Hope its a good day. Well, I have officially given up thinking I might be pregnant but now am completely confused re next month and what I should consider to be CD1?

Any thoughts?

beanieb · 21/08/2008 13:23

wasabipeanut - have you still only had spotting? How late are you now?

wasabipeanut · 21/08/2008 13:36

Hey Beanie. Still only spotting and 4 days late.

beanieb · 21/08/2008 13:40

Hmmm. weird. I can kind of understand being late but not the spotting and negative tests. Unless you ovulated later than usual or something?

wasabipeanut · 21/08/2008 13:48

Who knows? I don't think I ov'd late based on EWCM, ov pain and that sort of thing. I'm usually very regular - to the day. Could be wrong I guess but I'm done trying to analyse. I've spent the last couple of days & the best part of £20 twisting myself in knots trying to figure it out.

One of most difficult lessons I learned during pregnancy and I was (ironically) bleeding on and off through 2nd trimester is that sometimes there really is no explanation!

Finers crossed Jools fairb better!

ClairePO · 21/08/2008 13:52

When did you get your bfp before? Was it quite early on?

wasabipeanut · 21/08/2008 13:56

Not that early - about 4 days after I was due but that was the 1st time I tested as I was fairly clueless about the whole process then. Which, to be fair, was probably a good thing.

I might well have tested positive long before that though. When i did the test there was no ambiguity - there was no "is it a line?". It virtually lit up like a Xmas tree. And the one I did an hour afterwards!

And the one the next morning....

sfxmum · 21/08/2008 15:04

hi all still a week to go here

jools know what you mean about diet/ exercise
I like running but still all week I have been finding excuses not to step out, which is bad as it usually keeps me calm

wasabip no words of wisdom here just who know our bodies do weird things

hope everyone is well
and best of luck for next months to those who got AF

beanieb · 21/08/2008 17:19

Technically speaking, if my period follows it's usual 24 day cycle the I should be due on Tuesday or Wednesday next week but Fertility freind suggests my period is due on the Friday or Saturday so I guess I should wait it out until then! One whole week and a bit How will I last.

I have loads of tests because I bought some last month when I was a bit late but never got to use them, plus I have one from the CBFM trial and One which was sent to me

Jools1 · 21/08/2008 18:18

Looks like it is game over for me Have started the familiar cramping and my stomach has swollen further to the size of a football - ironically, I now look pg !!

I'd really started allowing myself to think this is my month aswell Trying not to wallow and will drag myself off to the gym as it usually helps. Am a bit embarrassed to go to my usual class though as this bloating is just ridiculous

numpty1972 · 21/08/2008 18:23

i am so depressed, they say to stay positive or it won't happen, how the hell do you stay positive when everymonth you get the same dissappointment? do i really have t give up on my daily cup of tea, diet coke and energy drinks cos of the caffine? thats all i really drink! i already gave up drinking jack daniels. i hate feeling this hopeless, sorry girls i'm just having a vent hope you don't mind.

SpangleMaker · 21/08/2008 18:23

beanieb you will need supreme willpower to resist all those tests - good luck!

I'm 10dpo I think, due on Monday. No symptoms apart from slightly sore boobs but that's not unusual. Really don't think I'm pg at all although I'm sure I'll still be disappointed & disillusioned when AF arrives.

Our cat has been really sick , in fact if we hadn't've got her to the vet's on Tuesday I don't think she'd have made it. She's a lot better now but may have to see a cardiologist (£400 - if you have a pet, get insurance!). At least it has taken my mind off ttc.
