After 18m persuading DH, we are finally (v gently ) TTc no 3.
As I am now 35, am convinced my fertility days are behind me.
Anyone in a similar position and needing to share support?

Oooh - have just caved in and spent an hour setting up Fertility Friend ! Interesting - I managed to decipher another AF date on my calendar so have 3 cycles to analyse - not a lot of data, but it is interesting to note that May and June cycles were 26 and 27 days and July was only 22 - I guess because of the BFP followed by BFN - CP ... I also noticed that two predicted OV dates matched OV pain I'd recorded, but this month FF disagreed with me by 2 days.

I guess I don't have enough data to draw any conclusions (and haven't succumbed to buying a thermometer ---- yet ! so will just have to wait and watch - quite addictive though

Am getting paranoid today symptom spotting - have had one cup of tea and a glass of OJ since 7am and feel the need to pee for the third time !!!

SpangleMaker · 13/08/2008 10:17

Jools1 - have a look at this website

Jools1 · 13/08/2008 10:29

Spanglemaker !! You have just provided a link to hours of paranoia - wicked but fun for now !!

Good thing I am working at home today !!!!

summerbird · 13/08/2008 13:53

i have just polished off a McDonalds to cure a hangover. Yeah right i am a walking shining example of TTCing arent i!!

beanieb · 13/08/2008 15:14

ok - I have ordered some Zita West tablets! Also had an extraordinary amount of EWCM today. Fertility monitor says High but perhaps a test tonight (normal ovulation test) will show I am getting a surge. If not I am expecting to ovulate soon - Hurrah!

DarrellRivers · 13/08/2008 15:17

I spotted my first EWCM last night
At last I know what I am looking for
Hopefully ovulated yesterday or today otherwise will have to get back on the case
OMG spangles , that site is more internet madness
Slightly TMI from some posters though, although interesting ideas
Feel distinctly underperforming

I found this! normal movement of sperm through mucus and this impared movement of sperm

wow!

mslucy · 13/08/2008 15:42

omg.

wasabipeanut · 13/08/2008 17:30

A quick technical question - do you get the EWCM when you ovulate or shortly before? Am still trying to pin down my cycle!

summerbird · 13/08/2008 17:39

those links didnt work for me, i am fascinated to see them now!!

SpangleMaker · 13/08/2008 18:10

Wow beanieb it's grapefruit juice and pumpkin seeds for us from now on!

wasabipeanut EWCM is generally shortly before, sometimes it's there on the day of ovulation but sometimes it's already disappearing by then. If you see it, get busy in the bedroom - or wherever

summerbird · 13/08/2008 18:38

ps - i have heard the grapefruit juice rumour too, but it is the fresh stuff not from concentrate - woo hoo

SpangleMaker · 13/08/2008 19:00

I think I must be giving off TTC vibes - I've lost count of the number of people who've been asking/hinting/giving looks about the dc question. I got all this when we first got married, then they got fed up until just recently, when all started up again. Honestly, it's a nightmare! What's worse is I'm a dreadful liar.

Oh well hopefully I'll be up the duff soon and they can all nudge each other whispering 'see, I told you so!'

KiwiKat · 13/08/2008 20:58

Can I ask some advice please? I read a post a while back, which unfortunately I can't find now, about someone who had dlp and whose AF was very stop/start. Mine has been like this since it returned after ds (now 2) was born, and I have been worried about it enough to go for a check at the doctor. The doc knew nothing about it and told me that it was normal and I would be fine. Since then we've been TTC, and when I started charting (on our third cycle now), discovered that I had a short luteal phase - then I found that a number of people's AF were also affected by this. Can anyone tell me why this happens, and what to do about it? I've been taking vitamin B Complex, which does seem to have lengthened the luteal phase, and have just started Agnus Castus, as this has been given the thumbs up, but AF is still misbehaving.

SpangleMaker · 14/08/2008 09:04

I really don't know I'm afraid kiwikat. I had a phase (3 or 4 months) of pre-menstrual spotting - about 3 days before AF, and slightly unusual start to AF (for me) - but I am pretty sure it was stress related. After the source of the stress (work) went my cycle went back to normal.

Hopefully there will be someone along who knows a bit more.

wasabipeanut · 14/08/2008 10:09

Spangle, thanks for that technical advice!

Like you I am also constantly getting asked whether we have "started trying yet". I just laugh it off and say something like "I think we'll let the first set of scars fade first" or similar.

Hopefully, we can give them something to talk about soon!

sfxmum · 14/08/2008 10:16

hello all

sorry no advice I have PCOS so all my troubles are related to that and I don't know much about other issues

regarding the ttc vibes, well since dd was about 1 everyone keeps asking when the next one is due nevermind how hurtful it may be.
luckily they seem to have stopped asking now, maybe my advancing years act as a deterrent

is anyone testing soon? I never do until at least one day after AF due, well almost never
but this is the first month back ttc so not getting my hopes up

wasabipeanut · 14/08/2008 10:18

Hi sfx - I'm testing Sunday (AF due Sat and I'n like clockwork) if I can hold out that long.

I have been imagining symptoms I think - this is first month so I daren't get my hopes up.

When are you testing?

sfxmum · 14/08/2008 10:24

I just ovulated so another couple of weeks maybe the 28th have been pretty regular cycle 30 days

wasabipeanut · 14/08/2008 10:27

Ah right - sorry thought you meant next couple of days.

Hope you've been busy for the last few days!

sfxmum · 14/08/2008 10:32

well one does one's best

good luck with the test, I like to see good new on the lead up to my date, even if I don't get a bfp it is a nice positive vibe

wasabipeanut · 14/08/2008 10:36

Well it would be almost too good to be true but you are right - thinking positive can only be good.

summerbird · 14/08/2008 11:04

spangles i get asked that a lot too, i am now quite open about TTC and that strangely tends to shut them up (it is always a minefield to people in RL). I think people now dont want to ask me if i am not PG yet and if not why not!

right am off to pack now for my weekend away, i may be back on line later but if not i will see you all on Wednesday. Have a happy BD weekend!!

Summerbird x

SpangleMaker · 14/08/2008 13:05

summerbird have a fab weekend

summerbird · 14/08/2008 13:35

thanks spangles
