After 18m persuading DH, we are finally (v gently ) TTc no 3.
As I am now 35, am convinced my fertility days are behind me.
Anyone in a similar position and needing to share support?

SpangleMaker · 10/08/2008 14:21

DH asleep on the sofa, poor boy!

DarrellRivers · 10/08/2008 14:22

Gets just too romantic doesn't it!

CD27, and AF has arrived 2 days early, but I don't mind because my luteal phase lasted 13 days this time - which means that things are getting better in that department. Have just started Agnus Castus today, which I've heard is the miracle worker. DH says that if we don't manage it this cycle, we'll forget what the books say and do it 'his way', which means sex every day for a month. Hmm - we'll see. Wish us luck! And good luck to everyone else out there.

summerbird · 10/08/2008 19:03

Dont think i have much chance of BD tonight as DH is settled in front of a Spiderman DVD!! At least i get some 'me' time!

SpangleMaker · 11/08/2008 09:59

Morning all

Back to work for me after a couple of days off last week, grrr!

Starting off on my holistic fertility plan today. This week's thing (as well as the yoga, which I'm supposed to do 4-5xper week throughout) is sipping hot lemon water all day long. I'm getting a bit bored with it already and it's only 10am! Oh well, all in a good cause I suppose

summerbird · 11/08/2008 10:04

I might try yoga - you are convincing me spanglemaker

Jools1 · 11/08/2008 10:10

Hello

I joined you all around a month ago, on page 11 I think ! I thought I had all the symptoms and went off on hols armed with First Response - turned out to be a CP - fortunately I hadn't told my parents, who were on holiday with me ! I was a bit freaked out by the whole experience, so have stayed away till now - hoping to get to know everyone this time though

So, here I am, on my second 2WW with a lot more understanding of my cycle. CD20, 4DPO (I get cramps, so am pretty sure that was it !)AF would probably be due on Aug 20th and I am trying to ignore the 3 First Response tests I have in a drawer upstairs (got loads on the Boots BOGOF offer last month !)

Same as last month, I've got the sore boobs already and my stomach has swelled so much, I can't wear my normal wardrobe. The same happened last month but I now firmly believe that this is just my pre menstrual symptoms getting to be as bad as they were when I was a teenager.

DP seems to be now on board with this - won't admit to TTC, but is happily BD'ing without contraception ! Best I can hope for I guess !

summerbird · 11/08/2008 11:12

hi there jools - so to hear about your CP, you seem to be v positive about the future which is

i am just at the beginning of my cycle on CD9, and am due to OV next weekend which is my wedding anniversary - woo hoo!!!

mummyontherun · 11/08/2008 13:54

Hello all! You may not remember me but I was a BFN going on holiday two weeks ago (poured with rain almost every day) BUT I didn't care because I got a nice surprise - which was that my BFN turned into a BFP! and then AF arrived and I was gutted... and then nothing else and it turned out it might have been implantation bleeding so I'm still a BFP.....

I'll obviously drop off this thread now - I haven't told you the above to gloat but to give you all hope - after all I am 42, had my dd at 40, then an m/c and have been ttc for 5 months.

If it can happen for me it can happen for all of you, and I wish you success with all my heart

Good luck

Keep smiling and trying

SpangleMaker · 11/08/2008 13:59

Hi Jools about CP - that must have been sooo stressful for you but you sound like you've really bounced back.

So you, dharma & lionstar are all on the 2ww. Not sure if I've officially joined you yet as my temp was still low this morning, but had pain last night/this morning which I suspect was my egg popping out Symptom spotting ahoy!

summerbird yes give yoga a try!

SpangleMaker · 11/08/2008 14:02

mummyontherun congratulations

Our first BFP!!! I'm really excited & so pleased for you.

Go on, tell us your symptoms so we can obsess over them!

Jools1 · 11/08/2008 14:08

Many congratulations Mummyontherun

Spanglemaker - I think I kinda just had to deal with it as I was on hols with my parents for the first time in 20 years and didn't want them to know. The holiday helped, but now the 2WW is here, I'm obsessing a little. Am working from home today and have done absolutely nothing but google various conception / pregnancy queries and lurk on here

I don't think we did enough BD'ing before Ov and am now confused because, being so new to this, I haven't really got dates for when my last few cycles started - it looks like my last one was only 26 days and I'm not sure if that would have messed timings up or not - I guess not because I can feel when I Ov and it just means a shorter wait till I can test perhaps !!

I am 40 next November - really really want to have a baby before then. DP is 5 years older, and I don't want to be an "old" mum

summerbird · 11/08/2008 14:10

congratulations mummyontherun that is fabulous news! and i dont think you are gloating at all - i am thrilled for you.

send us over some of that baby dust!!

sfxmum · 11/08/2008 14:19

hello all

thought I would dive in for a bit

I am 39 and ttc #2 had mc last December so only just ready to try again
I have had mc before dd (now 3)

keep feeling time is running out and the gap widening but could not bring myself to try again until now also have PCOS which doesn't help but seems to be under control

and congrats for the BFP

KiwiKat · 11/08/2008 14:23

Great news, Mummyontherun. Let's hope we all have good news to share sooner rather than later!

DarrellRivers · 11/08/2008 14:46

Congratulations mummyontherun
The thread has it's first BFP so that has to bring some good luck to us all.
I'm CD14, still low temps but should be heading into the 2ww soon.
Does any one have a BBT thermometer which doesn't beep?
DH is being driven mad by all the beeping first thing.
[hopeful]

ClairePO · 11/08/2008 15:14

Congratulations mummyontheruun that is lovely news!

I'm on CD18, will go for my CD21 test on Friday (I know it will be CD22 but I fugured one day doesn't make a big difference). I missed my CD2 test this month and when CD2 comes around next cycle I'll be in France, quaffing champers and chablis and eating stinky cheese. It does mean I won't be able to have my CD2 test until October but never mind.

Has anyone else had these tests? I'm worried I will show a raised FSH level but the doctor thinks not as I have regular 28/29 day cycles.

ClairePO · 11/08/2008 15:16

Darrell my thermometer beeped too and in the end I gave up temping after 6 months, it proved my cycles were regular and I ovulated in the middle so I figured what the hell I'll try to take a more relaxed approach now.

I had loads of cheapie OPK's so have been using them on and off and used the last one at the weekend.

Are most people on here temping?

DarrellRivers · 11/08/2008 17:33

Years ago when I did OPK I always got confused by the lines
Temping seems much more straightforward
However it seems the only silent digital thermometer is a Kaz 820, which is only available in the USA
Interesting fact , that I found out from a marijuna chat site, where they were talking about how to fake a urine sample so that you test negative for weed.
App taking temp of the urine is essential, as if it is not body temp , then you will be rumbled as having a fake sample !
It somewhat gives the game away, if you measure your urine sample temp in the stall and you beep.
Hence, this population of temp testers were also after a silent dig thermometer
Fascinating hey

Hi All!

Mummyontherun great news!! Many congratulations, it's great to hear.

Summerbird it sounds like you'll be having a romantic anniversary

Welcome Beanieb and hello sfxmum.

ClairePO I'm not temping as I think it would take over my life. Am looking out for CM changes and crossing fingers. This is month #3 and now on 2ww. A bit more hopeful than last month's write off.

Darrell thanks for that facinating information

My boobs hurt today - I really must stop reading things in to every new ache and pain I get.

dharma · 11/08/2008 21:06

Slippers - re boobs aching, let's keep all fingers crossed - I can't remember but I don't think mine ached when ttc dc1, so I am not getting too alarmed by the fact that they are not sore now. (only 3 days to go til CD28 or BFP!)

Welcome beanieb, jools1 and sfxmum and congrats to you mummyontherun.

have missed 2 pages of news although I have only been away for 3 days - feels like forever!

Anyway, am going to try not to think about BFN or BFP this week, as it only ends in disappointment and I will go out and spend a fortune on something soooo not necessary - AGAIN!

Good luck to those who are expecting any news this week!

sfxmum · 11/08/2008 21:56

thanks for welcome

am already feeling obsessive and this is the first month back trying (ovulating nowish)

must not let it take control, problem is the pmt symptoms are so much like early pregnancy right down to nausea

ClairePO · 12/08/2008 10:00

Re aching boobs (what a lovely thing to talk about so early in the morning) mine now ache a whole 7 days before my period arrives. I'm sure that pre-miscarriage they didn't start aching so early. We weren't actively trying so I didn't take a great deal of notice when they started hurting to be sure though.

Then after miscarriage they stopped aching altogether for a few cycles and of course the first cycle I thought that must be a symptom as it was different. Of course it wasn't. Then they started aching again so the first month I was convinced that was a symptom and my BFP was imminent. But it wasn't. Now I just ignore the damn things LOL

Symptom spotting is the invention of the devil LOL but it is impossible not to do!
