After 18m persuading DH, we are finally (v gently ) TTc no 3.
As I am now 35, am convinced my fertility days are behind me.
Anyone in a similar position and needing to share support?

Hi SpangleMaker, it's nice to be here (er, well, it's not, but you know what I mean).
Erm, was just wondering something - you all seem quite clued up about this sort of stuff so... I have REALLY light periods - is that a bad sign? the digital CB monitor thing says I'm ovulating, and the blood tests said everything was normal, BUT AF is barely there and my bbt never changes, isn't that a bit strange?Just wondered if any of you knew if that was a sign of something. I guess Ill find out at the hospital next month.
Oh and another thing I wondered - if you start your periods late (I had my first aged 17), does that mean I'll still have eggs later than people who started their periods really young? Or is that a totally moronic question and I'm just grasping at straws??!

Thanks wondermum1 and darrell - that's really made me feel better! Well best get on with some BD later on then!

summerbird · 29/07/2008 22:00

Hi saturdaykid i dont know any comprehensive answer to your questions but i started my periods at 14 (i am quite at you for starting so late) i really dont think it should make any difference as long as you are ovulating which you are i dont see any problems. I too have light periods and the Gynae i saw a couple of months ago said to me that as long as i am ovulating then there is no reason why i wont get PG however long it takes.

My poor DH is now saying he hopes it isnt him who is low on sperm count, bless him! I dont want to go down that route of getting him tested yet, i reckon i might give it TTC 8-10 months for that.

Hey spangles we missed ya! i too am getting people at work coming up to me and saying 'well have you got any news?' honestly i wish i could do an Ally MacBeal and smack them one when they dont even know about it!!

summerbird · 30/07/2008 13:37

Hello - HELLO!! anyone out there? or have i missed something and it is over 35s day of rest???

summerbird · 30/07/2008 18:45

OK now i am getting seriously concerned here - where are you all? Do seriously expect me to believe you have all been BD'ing for 24 hours??!! if so then you go girls!!

flowerfairy · 30/07/2008 18:46

Hello summerbird. Have been on very satisfying retail therapy trip today. Am just on the lull between washing up and putting ds to bed, so always sneak 5 mins of mn time before later visits.
Still no AF have no real symptoms other than cramps and as we all know that could mean either thing. Question for anyone ttc beyond dc#2-did you know second time immediately?

Anyone else around?

summerbird · 30/07/2008 18:47

How late are you flower ? Sorry i need to go back and check the stats! If you are overdue i would say just go for it and test - before i go out in an hour FFS!!!!!

flowerfairy · 30/07/2008 18:48

LOL at 24 hrs bd. I think it's too hot here for that. Besides i would be walking like i'd just got off ahorse and dh would need a splint. Though both of us would probably have huge grins

summerbird · 30/07/2008 18:48

ps and hoorah welcome back - i clearly have no life in that i am stalking cyberfriends!!

flowerfairy · 30/07/2008 18:49

4 days now!! Hate to test too early as i hate the disappointment of bfn more than af arriving and am so chilled atm i will try to give it until weekend. Sorry. Not tonight

flowerfairy · 30/07/2008 18:51

Aah , i've never been called a cyberfriend before. What a saddo i am.

How's things with you today?

Where are you off anywhere nice?

flowerfairy · 30/07/2008 18:52

Where have you gone now?

flowerfairy · 30/07/2008 18:52

Oh shit now i lok like the stalker

summerbird · 30/07/2008 18:55

Jeez lady! Good for you holding out but i would have tested by now. I understand your caution though so fingers crossed. The most i have been overdue is 3 days.

Well done on being chilled, praps that is a symptom? Maybe you have the 'glow'

We are TTC#1 so i have no idea about symptoms yet.

I am on my way out in a bit, FIL who thinks we should have started TTC before our wedding is coming over and we are all going out for dinner. If he mentions grandkids (or lack of) he shall be wearing his dinner!!

Good luck flowerfairy i will catch up tomorrow morning (whilst at work!)

summerbird · 30/07/2008 18:57

PMSL we are all stalkers now!!

our messages crossed there, i keep telling myself to come off MN now and get ready to go out - oh dear...... well its only the FIL

flowerfairy · 30/07/2008 18:57

Hope FIL doesn't say anything uncalled for it hurts so much when people say things without knowing what's going on. Fortunatley my MIL has stopped making comments about how ds should not be an only one.

flowerfairy · 30/07/2008 19:00

Forgot to say hope dinner goes well. Get really drunk and then use that as an excuse to make a comment-or as i remember someone on another thread saying so do you want to know how many times we do it then?

flowerfairy · 30/07/2008 19:01

Catch up tomorrow

flowerfairy · 30/07/2008 19:01

Catch up tomorrow

summerbird · 30/07/2008 19:02

My MIL and FIL are divorced and have such different views. The FIL is clearly desperate for grandkids and keeps reminding us of the fact (and unwittingly making me feel crap for not producing such) but MIL is so chilled about is as is my mum. They both appreciate these things take time and my mother has always said to wait until we are completely ready as it completely changes your life.

Anyway I really do have to go now, so have a good evening with DS and catch up tomorrow.

Byeeeeee

SpangleMaker · 30/07/2008 19:06

Evenin' all! Just got in from a day of meetings in London so no MN time for me at work's expense today (hope the IT department never look through my internet history )

flowerfairy OMG how serene are you not to have tested yet! Am so impressed by your willpower. As you all know, I have none!

SpangleMaker · 30/07/2008 19:09

Bloody hell you're all quick - about 5 messages appeared while I was typing that!

have a good evening summerbird

dharma · 30/07/2008 19:20

Summerbird and flowerfairy - I actually LOL'ed lots whilst reading your postings from 6-7pm tonight!
You have really cheered me up as I have done an ovulation stick test tonight which has come up as positive, but DH is out drinking til the early hours with his boss, so no BD for us tonight
Will be v if we miss this month, but as it's my birthday tomorrow, maybe he'll make up for it

flowerfairy · 30/07/2008 21:20

Dharma wishing you happy birthday for tomorrow and that dh is up for it-weh hey!! (she says in complete laddish way). So we won't be seeing youtomorrow night then as you will be otherwise engaged
