After 18m persuading DH, we are finally (v gently ) TTc no 3.
As I am now 35, am convinced my fertility days are behind me.
Anyone in a similar position and needing to share support?

thanks. Good luck to all the 2ww is the pits. All you can so is obsess over is am i/aren't i? Is that a af or pg symptom? Lsitening to the problems already arising from my sisters new arrival, maybe i should stick to one. (she lied).

EsmeWeatherwax · 22/07/2008 14:14

Hello, can I join your lovely thread? I'm 36, and just starting to ttc #2. Dh and I started thinking about it, and dropped contraception a few months ago, but not been seriously trying. I'm hopefully on the last day of af at the moment, so its bombs away from tomorrow!

Not feeling very confident this time around, as everything has been so different since having dd...I now have much heavier afs, plus slightly less regular (before I literally knew to the hour when af was due) all due to the giant fibroids it came to light I had during my emcs.

Have been reading the thread over the last hour (I'm such a great employee) and am sending support and luck vibes to everyone...

Welcome Esme
symptoms symptoms symptoms
At least this week is a busy work week and weekend, so that will occupy my mind (if not a little depressing)

Hi veterans

Just lurking as I won´t start trying until next year.

I registered on fertility friend and have no idea how to use it.. I don´t even know how long my cicle is .

First day of period in June was 12th and first day in July was 13th.. Does that mean anything?

Sorry..(very ignorant emoticon)

TIA

DarrellRivers · 22/07/2008 16:13

Hi fig,
1st day of cycle ie Cycle Day 1 is first day of period. So your cycle length will be the number of days from CD1 until your next period.
If you do start temping as per fertility friend you will get an idea of when you ovulate, which will be useful for next year when you start TTC. (for years I thought I ovulate D14, recently it seems more like D16-18 so I had been concentrating my efforts in the wrong time period)
We are all very different it would seem

Is anyone using a clearblue or similar fertility monitor? Am tempted to get one so any feedback welcome. Also all the fertility stuff on 3for2 at Boots atm. I found out I was pg last time approx 2 days after spending £100 on the BOots one, so gave it to my mate. Don't want to ask for it back cos I don't want anyone in rl to know we are ttc.

FF congrats to your dsis. Isn't going off coffee a really common symptom? Crosses fingers for you.

Hi Esme. Hope you had a good aftternoon working hard

flowerfairy · 22/07/2008 21:00

just had to tell you i've just seen my sisters baby and he was so cute and i managed to control my tears. though am still
.

SpangleMaker · 22/07/2008 22:26

flowerfairy - well done keeping it together, must be a lot of mixed emotions for you

Welcome Esme, fig (fig - I remember you from your other thread, how exciting you are now planning ttc )

Fingers crossed for 2WW-ers, don't be like me, stay strong & don't test!

Still waiting for AF, due today, feel she will here soon.

summerbird · 23/07/2008 08:56

Morning

flowerfairy my good friend has just had her DD, we are going to visit her this weekend, i am really looking forward to it but also green with

spanglemaker lets hope AF is kept away this month! hang on in there

flowerfairy · 23/07/2008 09:53

summerbird hope that you can keep strong too. It's so hard, but then seeing how my sisters dd behaved after new brother arrived i came home and looked at my ds and thought you're so lovely.

summerbird · 23/07/2008 14:06

i should be fine, am just really looking forward to holding a new born, my friend lost her first baby so this little one is all the more special to her.

flowerfairy · 23/07/2008 18:26

Thinking positive thoughts for your friend too.

So anyone symptom spotting? Have no new ones today. Don't really feel like either AF or pg. think that probably means am not pg and Af will be late this month just to torture me further

SpangleMaker · 23/07/2008 19:30

Fed up - still no AF, done another test (cheapy), spurred on by FertilityFriend saying 'go on, you can test now!' - BFN again. So I must have got my ov date wrong.

I did have a vague and bizarre but positive symptom today - several times I was convinced I could smell cigarette smoke, even getting into my car this morning - I had to roll down the window - yet I don't smoke and haven't had anyone who does in my car.

No other symptoms though.

Hope everyone else is ok - sorry for wallowing in self pity. Darrell, ff - how long until af is due?

SpangleMaker · 23/07/2008 19:32

PS Cote wher are you? Did you test again?

DarrellRivers · 23/07/2008 20:25

You must have VIP fertility friend spangles
BFN but hey, it ain't over until it's over
I am CD 27, and my period can be due any day from 28-35 days long so who knows...
I have found a way to alleviate the pain of waiting, I have bought myself a present.
I feel this could be an expensive alternative to buying preg tests.
I am awaiting delivery, but feel pleased and comforted whenever I think about my purchase.
What if this escalates?

OP posts:
SpangleMaker · 23/07/2008 20:27

oooh what's your present?

DarrellRivers · 23/07/2008 20:28

orla kiely wheeled cabin bag
my work bag is getting too heavy to carry, so I though i'd get something wheely

OP posts:
SpangleMaker · 23/07/2008 20:30

sorry meant to say (am in the middle of eating dinner!) at BFN - you've time yet though, fingers x-ed

DarrellRivers · 23/07/2008 20:34

Oh no, not me, I haven't tested yet

OP posts:
flowerfairy · 23/07/2008 20:34

I hope your present is good. Just think when you do get your bfp, you won't have to worry about straining yourself with your wheels to go.
Dh has been really sweet tonight and is always better than me at looking at things positively over this ttc malarkey. That's when i remember why i married him.

DarrellRivers · 23/07/2008 20:36

I love my bag

OP posts:
flowerfairy · 23/07/2008 20:37

Keep strong DR. am feeling myself weakening as i know i have those tests under the bed. keep getting the urge to test. Af not due yet for another 4 days at least so i know there is no point yet.
