Very nervous to TTC after a miscarriage but am going for it

For those who want to look to the future and TTC again I would really like some support, advice etc.
I thought we needed a new thread with positive energy (yes have turned into chanting hippy) so that we feel we are moving forward rather than dwelling on what has already passed.
The only thing I can concentrate on at the moment is that next Wed is the day that me and DH can start trying again (this will be 2 weeks after ERPC).
Anyone else ready to try again?

evening all! Sorry have not had time or energy to read all the posts, today was my dd's second b-day party and am so tired. 15 toddlers running around is sheer chaos! Anyway, just wanted to check in this evening to send babydust to all!

Bella23 · 24/02/2005 22:09

Hereshopping - hoorah !
Its a relief isn't it when she finally shows up!
Mishi - will check out sale thread, thanks.
Yingers - feel tired just thinkinf of 15 toddlers running round!

Moring ladies.
Well was on my own last night as DH was on a course. Treated myself to a bottle of wine and then decided that I would start the lounge painting. The result this morning being that you can tell I was "under the influence"! Think I will have to re touch tonight!
I also splashed out on a persona on the net as the consensus on here seems to be that it is very good and don't feel that I am particularly getting to grips with opks. Obviously would love for it to arrive and not need it next month!!
Hope everyone is enjoying the snow.

ARGH!!! 15 toddlers!! Yingers how did you cope??? No wonder you were tired. Hope you are having a more relaxing day today.
Bella, I'm so jealous - I so want a persona too. What special fancy gadget can I use with a 42 day cycle? I noticed there are 2 still on the for sale board if anyone else wants to get one (sob, sob, sob!)
So glad your AF has arrived Hereshoping (only on this thread would you see that comment!). You've not got 15, 8 year olds coming round for a party have you?
Hope everyone is having a good morning.

yingers74 · 25/02/2005 13:53

Good afternoon,

am feeling a lot less tired today, although am still finding bits of chocolate on furniture etc -lovely. It was ok as at this age, the mums/nannies/childminders who brought them along stayed, I can't imagine what would have happened if they left me to it. Also food and cake kept them reasonably well behaved!

Here - cool about the AF, i think i will wait for mine to arrive now as have wasted loads of opk which just kept telling me I was not ovulating!

How much did you pay for your persona, Bella? And LOL about the painting, I have to say last night it did cross my mind to repaint the lounge area, the furniture had been moved out for the party so part of me thought, kill 2 birds with 1 stone but then the lazy part of me kicked in and said 'are you mad woman, sit down and watch charmed instead'.

romilly · 25/02/2005 13:58

AF this a.m. boooooh!

so clearly now my cycle is not going to be back to normal. just spoke to friend who's had 3 kids and she said her cycle changed after each pregnancy so dont ever expect it to be what it was before. bugger! isnt that just typical, i always thought my shorter cycle would be useful at a time like this. sods law i guess.

well, dont be downhearted by my lack of success anybody - because as you may remember i kind of mucked up with the most crucial part last month anyhow! managed to time everything to perfection but then had a fall-out with d/h on my persona peak day DUH!

bella i think you did the right thing getting persona - it seems to get the thumbs up from everyone (and no more having to wait 4 hours to pee, or do awkward things at work!!)

happy birthday wishes to yingers (belatedly) and hereshopings kiddies

george - were the flapjacks edible? also george dont worry about OPKs and persona too much if you have a long cycle - fertility friend says the best thing by a long shot anyway is watching your EWCM (mmmmmmmm!)

Bella23 · 25/02/2005 14:22

Afternoon ladies.
Romilly - sorry AF showed up, bugger! At least the uncertainty is over. Just got to focus on nexr month now.

After a bit of thought (well not that much as I was a bit tiddly) I decided to get a new persona. Not sure how complicated it is so decided that I wanted a brand new one instead of someone else's, even though the one for sale on MN was only £20 and I paid £65. Seems a lot of money but at this stage in the game you kinda feel like you would part with any amount of cash don't you!!

George - totally wouldn't worry about length of cycle, I think checking for EWCM is the way foward but also making sure you "go at it" over a number of days just on the off chance. That's what I am trying to do as I am not sure I have the OPKs right yet although did get a surge today so am going to be grabbing DH tonight and as much over the weekend as a I can get!
You are more than welcome to my remaining OPKs if you like as am going to start on my persona next month. Let me know as can post through work (naughty I know) so won't cost anything. Let me know if you are interested.

Yingers - yes clearly barking if you seriously had a flash of inspiration to paint after a kid's party - thank God the TV pulled you!

Right better do some work...

OP posts:
romilly · 25/02/2005 15:29

thks bella - i totally agree with you forking out for new persona, i mean i know its an extra £45 to buying second hand but it seemed to me like quite a personal thing to get second hand IYKWIM!!

wheres dqueen today? and hows mishi??

romilly · 25/02/2005 15:46

at least i can have a few glasses of wine this weekend now

dramaqueen72 · 25/02/2005 16:02

i'm here, been 'spring cleaning' and moving furniture about...we must all be going thro some kinda 'fresh start' thing right now! alot of moving stuff/painting walls going on here!
george i dont do persona either so youre not left out. i simply do not get enough regular sleep or have regular waking times temping either.... i have got to say ewcm is a fabulous sign tho isnt it? and even if you dont use opks -which i find frustrating but def do-able,- have you entered your info in the conception store calendar? its great as a guide line as to when to bd!
that said, good luck with your presona bella, hope it works out for yoU mine would have to be new too....weird huh? silly of us i guess but!
my af is fading -yeeha! next weeks MY week then! busy creating babies!
romilly -sorry about af, hope you werent desperately upset? its good to be on a fresh cycle tho isnt it? a new start, a december/newyear baby for us all fingers crossed. i hope we can support each other thro the cycles we may have yet to come!

romilly · 25/02/2005 16:28

hi dqueen - exciting time for you coming up! and the nice, fun part of ttc'ing as opposed to the mind-explodingly hormone-ragingly stressy part!!!

just dont have any argie-bargies like romilly did !!!

go dramaqueen go!

everybody have a good friday night and don't do anything i wouldn't do (that only means baking btw!!!!! LOL)

Bella23 · 25/02/2005 16:33

DQ - Glad Af is on her way out. Onwards and upwards from here on in!
Rom - you go girl and have a few glasses of wine. Really know I shouldn't but will be partaking myself this evening....well it is Friday isn't it!

I think we are all in for the long haul in this baby making process, we've just got to hang in there even when the going gets tough! We will get there but we are more like the tortoise than the hair in this race! Annoying as being a taurus I prefer to do everything at top speed...ARH!!

Off home soon to assess the painting I need to finish off. Only managed one wall last night so need to make a start on the others - tomorrow I think though when alcohol won't be involved!

OP posts:
george32 · 25/02/2005 16:53

Mmmmm, just sat down to have a cup of tea and to eat lovely yummy flapjack. It's so nice I'm going to make more over the weekend! We have DPs 2 boys coming over so I'm sure they won't turn it down!! (That's if they can prise it out of my sticky fingers...)
Thanks for your offer Bella, thats really kind of you. Once you are up & running with your persona (grrr!!) I'll be happy to take any spare OPKs off your hands. Think you might need to keep using them to start with, & double test, just to be sure it's working properly - you really don't want to be missing out on "O" time.
I'm using fertility friend (no bloody friend so far!!) but I'll have a look at the conception store one in case a miricle happens & it tells me I'm fertile even though I have non of the signs!

Babydust winging its way to all of you (esp DQ for next week!!)

Bella23 · 25/02/2005 18:05

George - am happy to turn over OPKs soon as never really got the hang of them to be honest, you might have more luck. Let me know and I shall CAT you my e-mail address for you to send me your address.

OP posts:
yingers74 · 25/02/2005 18:19

Got outbid on some opks on ebay so think this is a sign to use something else! I mean I used about 14 of them and did not get a single surge! B-d anyway just in case though!!!! Will perhaps try to get one of those saliva things on ebay, LOL, i have become such an ebay freak since you guys introduced me, I have already brought 2 dvds not to mentions the pregnancy tests! Somebody stop me!

dramaqueen72 · 25/02/2005 19:52

ladies, did somebody mention baking?!!
oh i wish we could all meet up for a drink tonight! that would be lovely!!! i'm def on the red wine tonight, dh is DRIVING ME MAD (hes being lazy while i do all the dashing about invovled in tea/dd bath time/big kids in showers/more tea for us adults/washing etc ETC!!!) and as i want him happy to see me next week i neeeed to bite my tongue!!! oh he needs telling tho. lazy git! shall be nice tho. eeek its going to kill me!!!LOL
I have new batch of opks ready for next week..... the ebay sellers must have experience a huge boost in sales since we all went there!!!
bella what colour you painting the lounge then? apparently it says alot about you you know.... i should imagine right now, with smudgy bits and missed bits it says you drank too much wine last night!!!!!!

George the conceptionstore calendar is not an 'ongoing' thing like ff. its a fill in and read kinda thing (love those!instant results!) you fill in your last af date, approx length of cycle, and click a button and it tells you (month by month) what days you should be fertile, what day to test, what day your due....i got pg with mollie on month 2 of these, and nothing else, no opks no monitor, no ferning thingy, so i think its fab! however i have a fairly reg cycle so I dont know how it would cope if you didnt....
poss after all the fuss/tests/kits, ladies, the best thing to do is bd every other day, all month. blimey, it might make our dhs faint tho!

mishi1977 · 25/02/2005 20:19
