For those who want to look to the future and TTC again I would really like some support, advice etc.
I thought we needed a new thread with positive energy (yes have turned into chanting hippy) so that we feel we are moving forward rather than dwelling on what has already passed.
The only thing I can concentrate on at the moment is that next Wed is the day that me and DH can start trying again (this will be 2 weeks after ERPC).
Anyone else ready to try again?

dq- what do u study at college?

mishi1977 · 22/02/2005 14:11

morning all..dq mm only 14hrs since baking..think it must be about 14 yrs for me.lol and even that was under duress at school...
bella back away from the tests..lol
Although i must admit to testing last week just to get a bfn so i knew my bfp would be true
fast have sent u an email and no u havent been blocked i have just been out all morning at the opticions..im not petty enough to do that...
been for new glasses today as ds broke mine and it cost me £178 arrrgghhh but dh being in a fab mood has paid for them..must be all the bding..pmsl

take care all and lots of icky sticky baby dust to us all

yingers74 · 22/02/2005 14:38

178 pounds, ouch, I had forgotten how expensive glasses are. I have not been to opt for a while now, keep forgetting and my current glasses are holding up!

mishi1977 · 22/02/2005 14:50

lol yingers mine were till little man got them but apparently my left eye has gone a lot worse..wondered why i could never see the cars in front

Bella23 · 22/02/2005 14:55

DQ - am a ski bunny.
Things to take are lots of thin layers. You don't need to splash out loads, just make sure he has lots of long sleeved t-shirts and thin fleeces that can be worn under ski gear.
Spend the money on decent ski socks though as the boots are a killer on the shins otherwise. Lots of sun protection.
Mishi - yes as a glasses wearer myself I can sympathis on the cost - bloody expensive.
Thanks for the shouting, will try and take notice and stay away from the August thread!
Romilly - no pressure or anything but we are all routing for you

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 22/02/2005 15:53

thanks for the ski info, bella, youre a star. what about any silly extras? things you couldnt live without when on ski holiday? i'm determined to make this a fab experience for him. i mean -america! skiing! without parents! woah, how lucky can you get at 13?!
yingers i do black and white photography. now the intense studying side is over (that was last year, learning chemical stuff and f stops etc etc....) and we are just taking billions of pictures and printing them/developing them i'm having a ball. and heavenly time out from family too! ! did i just say that?!
i can resist the august thread now, -they are now so far ahead, its like a whole different world, what I have trouble with is the newest pg thread......I am so jealous -not a nice thing i know so i do all i can not to read ANY of them.

Bella23 · 22/02/2005 16:01

I remember from a school ski-ing trip that the best thing to have is cool ski gear. My friend and I had to hire these naff ones (parents made us) and I think I am still scared by the laughs we got by being in such terrible out of date outfits! A jacket with lots of pockets to store stuff is great. A retractable ski pass holder which springs back is cool.
DQ - photography class sounds interesting. I feel a little like I am putting my life on hold at the minute waiting to start a family. Keep promising myself I will do all sorts in the future once I've had a baby. Sounds a bit pathetic when I say it out loud so only admitting it to you guys!

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 22/02/2005 16:15

no exactly what i am often doing bella -WHEN i'mn pg, and WHEn i've had a another baby are phrases i often think, even not always say out loud. its because my head can only deal with one major obsession at a time I reckon!! i have been doing this course a long time, and will stay on til it either stops or has had enough of me, its sorrt of turned into a photography club now. i started because i take billions of photos anyhow, so may as well get them in focus and looking good!!!
new mission -get retractable ski pass holder for ds. okay........ whats it look like and where will i get one? he has got animal and Oneil kit to wear. hes already v fussy being a teenager!

i want it to be next week!!! I want to be bd-ing and DOING SOMETHING towards getting pg, not sitting around. aggggggghhhh!

Girl -meant to say, sorry dh is ill, gosh is it catching???? seems like many hubbies are ill or getting ill on this thread. hope you are warm now btw

Bella23 · 22/02/2005 16:35

DQ - retractable ski pass holder will be found in any outdoor shop I think.
I forget that teenagers these days have far more fashion sense than I ever did when I was young! Can never go wrong with ONEIL.
Yes agree on the obsession front. Trying to obsess about getting the garden sorted for summer but exactly what i would call fun!
Yes its pretty crap waiting for AF to go but just keep reminding yourself how far you have come (indeed everyone on this thread). Just think you are on the brink of ttc again whereas weeks ago we were "in the bell jar" feeling very grim after m/c. We now have hope again...hoorah

OP posts:
girlfromip · 22/02/2005 16:36

thanks dq, dh walking about, walking wounded, limping really! No just this vile cold come back I think!
V impressed by your course, I wish you could set up an online gallery of some of your photos and then give us the link?
Have to run and arbitrate round some injustice in the kitchen...... arghhhhhhhhhh
have exercise class tonight, do you think it will snow so I can go to bed????

romilly · 22/02/2005 21:38

you guys are all just the best. i went out tonight and had 3 (large) glasses of wine cause the stress of this whole business is getting to me - i know, i know i shouldnt be drinking, i shouldnt be testing, - what should i be doing? baking???!!! yoga?!!!!

i can't bear it. bella, your "bell jar" metaphor was pure genius, cause this is UNbearable. isnt life a strange game.

ok, enough of that - thank you for routing for me everyone, bella, dqueen, mishi, yingers, girlfromimp, hereshoping, george and everyone on this thread - you are a great team of ttc buddies and i want each and every one of us to have a happy ending to this ttc'ing game.

mishi - i hope you and fastasleep sort out your differences - she seems to care enough to be making the effort which in my book counts for a lot. we all make mistakes.

dqueen - a budding photograher huh? d/h is a professional photographer (just well and truly busted myself now if he looks on this, hi honey!)

wish me babydust......i need it...............lots of it....

OI BABYDUST!!!!!

yingers74 · 22/02/2005 22:36

sending as much baby dust to you as poss!

Bella23 · 23/02/2005 09:16

Morning ladies
Romilly - good girl, I think a few glasses of wine was exactly what you needed. Girly I am sending you very large anounts of babydust - hang in there as we are all routing for you
Well not a lot happening with me at the moment, enjoying seeing the snow, nice to wake up to.
Hope you all have a good day

OP posts:
mishi1977 · 23/02/2005 09:39

aww romilly tons and buckets of babydust for u hun when are you going to test?

Bella no snow here for us it pathetically tried for a little bit but nothing much

Oh well not a lot happening here baby wise as am now on 2 week wait i think..lol..im terrible wiht my cycle havent a clue what its doing but then it does tend to play tricks on me..lol
hope u all have a great day
take care

hereshoping · 23/02/2005 10:21

Morning all
lots of babydust to those who need it - next month I want lots my way please
bella stay off aug thread - if you want to feel a little better go on sept/oct due dates and feel all that stressing about problems and feeling sick and awful and enjoy this small window we have from being that way
dq - skiing - agree need good socks, two paris gloves as they get wet, thin layers and goggles and glasses. mine wear tights under their ski suits but mjr probs persuading 6 yr old boy of value of this so no chance at 13
also send him with lots of mars bars so he can stuff his pockets with them
sunblock, lip block, neck thing that can be pulled up over head as balaclava useful - they have treandy name but cant remeber what
everyone still religiously on folic acid girls?
lets turn this into a due in dec threaD SOON

Bella23 · 23/02/2005 10:35

I hear ya hereshopping, due in dec thread- WE WILL GET THERE!
Thanks for telling me to stay away from August thread, have abstained today - you see I am listening.
Am chuckling at the idea of DQ telling her 13 yr old the benefits of tight wearing under ski suit (which I agree with) - can imagine lots of eye rolling and exasperated face pulling!!

OP posts:
girlfromip · 23/02/2005 11:05

morning everyone babydust to romilly and all .
Dq hope you're having a good day and your course was good. Only four of us turned up at my class and the teacher was very pleased with our progress felt hugely proud of myself (saddo!).
A friend of mine is due to give birth any minute -I'm irritated waiting for the call and ready to be delighted of course! But bored with other people's glorious pregnancies to be honest and equally bored with violent fecundity of some (i.e. the one that's due only has to walk past her husband to get pregnant and never misses a chance to pretend to be hugely exasperated by that....) Forgive me, am in pissy mood today as the yanks would say......
Has the baking stopped? I never managed the apple crumble, fell at the first hurdle.
yingers and mishi, I so need new glasses, my old ones are in desperate need for an update.

Bella23 · 23/02/2005 14:20

Quick question re ov testing. I have been testing first thing in the morning (ie 1st wee of the day) but have just been reading somewhere that this is not right time. Any advice as when is best to test? When do you guys do it?

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 23/02/2005 19:17

ladies! gosh feel like i have been away for ever! today was dhs day off so we have been out and about. bought myself a new computer desk/cupboard; got dh to build it -something he hates doing!!! i'm the flat pack queen around here!- so am sat MILES away from the monitor at swish new desk...
got dd new shoes too. cute button she is. will have to work out way of showing you photo of her, without showing it to loads of weirdos too. hmmmm.
oh god rom please test. i'm DYING here for you.
Girl - the baking NEVER stops! have a new batch of cookie recipes to test tomorrow. yipeee!

Oh no bella! your lh surge is repressed first thing so apparently you should test after 10am -asuming you get up around/before eight. eek! did you waste loads? and, and this is the part that bugs me, you shouldnt test after about 8pm either for a correct reading. starting to get complicated! i'm never really 'free' of household stuff/children til after 7pm. so unless i remember during the morning its about 8/9pm when i think 'oh bu**er!'
NEXT week i'm creating a baby so will be opk testing around 10am EVERYDAY then. come hell or high water. have briefed dh as to whats required. even the 'no older than three days sperm' part. his face was a picture. PMSL
af got abit painful today and heavier (tmi i know sorry) freaked me out alittle. but i guess as long as it doesnt hang around longer than usual i dont care. i am going to be a nightmare on my 2ww i'm warning you. mishi -maybe you have it right kinda 'vague' about exact 2ww means you cannot count hours/minutes seconds down to test time. like me.......
er guys, ds is NEVER going to go for tights. thermals are enough of a 'girly looking thing' to him. i have had to bribe him. sigh. bella, WHAT does a retractable ski pass holder look like? can you find a link to a picture. i cant even begin to shop for one, as have NO idea what they are like.
oh and travel games anyone? where can i buy good ones???
understand about all thees darn pg women.....i have someone i'm close too whos just threatening to 'announce' something, she has that kinda air about her lately 'i know something you dont know.' bluuuuurgggggggh. i'm NOT asking her whats the news cause i dont want to hear it if its babies.. only from romilly/mishi/heres/girl/bella/george/yingers/anyone i've missed out{sorry}/and me!
well missed you all all day today, will stick on here all tomorrow to make up for it.
love ya.

romilly · 23/02/2005 19:18

Bella - i heard the same thing, because you can get a false surge in the morning or something ?? anyway i still do it in the morning

thank you everyone for the babydust, please keep sprinkling for me

im really too nervous to be chatty today. take care all

romilly · 23/02/2005 19:26

Not got much planned for tonight but will be popping on and off...dont know if any of u have msn messenger?

Tommorow is dh bday so we are going out for lunch which should be nice...

Bella23 · 23/02/2005 21:10

MMMM bugger then as have been testing when I first get up! Oh well at least know now, still pre ov i think so will start doing it at 10am from tomorrow. Should be fun seeing as I shall have to do it at work and my office is really small with one toilet !!
DQ - new computer desk sounds fab. Ski pass thingy - see this skipass
Romilly - we are all on tender hooks for you.
Mishi - hope you have lovely day with DH tomorrow. According to reports it is supposed to really snow tonight so you could have a lovely winter wonderland day tomorrow!

Sorry forgot to add that i have managed 2 whole days without going near the AUG thread - you see I did listen!
Must admit though that I have been avoiding my BF (one who is pregnant). I have cancelled arrangements twice now. I need to bite the bullet soon as i can't carry on avoiding her. Genuinely feel scared of seeing her as just don't want to kick of my emotions of feeling sorry for myself again. I told a friend last night how i felt and she has agreed to chaperone me when i see BF to help me out - sorry all sounds a bit pathetic doesn't it !!
Honestly this TTC malarky turns you to mush doesn't it! Believe it or not I used to be viewed as the "strong one" in my group of friends, the one to help everyone else and after my m/c its like someone zapped me of all strength!
shall sto wittering on! DQ - hoorah am with you on the babies for us all!!!

Hi all, feeling better again so I'm creeping back over here again. I'm like a bloody yo yo at the moment!
Thanks for keeping me going whilst I crawled under a stone for a few days.

Had an exciting moment earlier....I found some ferning on my saliva thingy . Really cool until I remembered that I brushed my teeth before testing this morning so think it's just dried colgate instead. Ooops.
This waiting for ov is driving me mad!!

Romilly, sending you lots & lots of babydust. Fingers crossed for you. Is this the first big test on the thread? I might have missed some with my springing about threads.
Mishi, can't believe your DH is complaining about your demands - surely that is what men dream of?

I am now queen of DIY in our house by saving 35 quid and fitting bathroom vinyl myself. Not quite as easy as it might look but very theraputic, and I'm sure no-one will notice the crappy bits!! I think painting & DIY is my baking - certainly have got a lot done over the last few weeks!
DQ I have discovered your secret for lots of baking - having a cleaner who irons!!! How lucky are you....I'll swap you a mountain of ironing for a tray of flapjack (honest I'm sure your cleaner won't notice!)

Nice to be back over here again and thanks again for all the support xxx
