Friendly/supportive/sensitive thread 🌱

Hi everyone, I was hoping to start a nice friendly supportive and sensitive thread. Maybe for those ttc for a while or after losses or just finding things difficult with ttc in general. I love to read others have had bfp's as it gives me hope, but have been finding some threads with alot of positive test pictures posted quite difficult.
Hoping to find others looking for the same as it's lovely to have a place to rant, feel sad, feel happy, get advice, or just obsess without judgement 🙂

I am 36, started ttc 2 years ago, had 2 mmc, and have now been ttc for 14 months since the last one without success. Currently on cd14 on a "not tracking"cycle. x

@BGxxx that's a nice age gap, a good time to start trying. My little boy has just turned 2.

@erihskreb that's really good, I wish I had the motivation to do it. We're having our kitchen done, it's like a bomb site, so we've been living off takeaways for the last week 😫 I feel like I'm just filling my body with crap. Not ideal when ttc lol

ToysRus56 · 29/11/2024 23:55

Hoping I can join. TTC my second. Feeling a little hopeless this evening as two of my good friends have just said that they're pregnant. It's so hard, obviously you're happy for them but I just feel a bit desperate this evening. Particularly with the age gap ever increasing

Hi! A few of my friends with children the same age as mine are pregnant too. I feel okay at the minute but I honestly think I’m trying earlier than I originally planned because I feel like it’s going to take a while! How long have you been ttc this time round?

Vanilla90 · 30/11/2024 08:11

@ToysRus56 I completely understand how you are feeling. It's horrible facing pregnant people when you desperately want a baby.
The age gap is increasing for me too. How old is your little one?

ToysRus56 · 30/11/2024 08:39

My little girl is two and a half. I feel so silly that I didn't start sooner. The first time was relatively quick so I just didn't think. We've been trying for a few months now and it's so hard to not get obsessive about it

BGxxx · 30/11/2024 09:46

@ToysRus56 my friend is in the same boat as you. Her little boy is 3.5 and she’s been trying for over 6 months but she was hoping it would happen straight away! She regrets not trying sooner but then she also says they just weren’t ready any sooner so it’s hard

Vanilla90 · 30/11/2024 09:47

@ToysRus56 you weren't to know. If you fell pregnant quickly last time, you'd assume it would be the same 2nd time around. I thought it would be quick and trouble free for me too.
A few months isn't that long, hopefully it won't be much longer Smile
What CD are you now?

LuluGilmore · 30/11/2024 18:22

Hope I can join here, this is 6th cycle trying, I've never been pregnant and asked the doctor for some check and she just said "I'm not worried" I know she meant it's not long enough but the tone bothered me. This cycle I had to go on a work conference the day before ovulation.. DTD the day before (so just two days before ovulation) but feel like more of a chance was taken away and starting to think it might never happen for us.

Vanilla90 · 30/11/2024 18:43

Hi @LuluGilmore that's still within your peak! I've fallen pregnant 2 days before ovulation in the past. I'd say you're in with a chance. But I know what you mean, unless I have managed to DTD the day before and on ovulation day, I feel like I haven't done enough. When is AF supposed to be due? (I say "supposed" in the hope she doesn't show!) Smile

Thanks. Due on 13th December, always 25 day cycle, I think that's a bit short but doctor said it's ok. Apparently 2 days before is in for a good chance but having a positive opk test in the morning knowing I was going off to a hotel by myself was frustrating. The tww always seems to drag on!

Ladyinpink1 · 30/11/2024 19:59

@Vanilla90 lol oh yes, so very glamorous! 😆. I used to get tests from Ebay that were brilliant, never gave Evaps and showed early bfp but I can't seem to find them anymore. Been using one step instead, no false positives with them... although like you, I will try not to test this cycle x

Hi @erihskreb I'm really sorry about the irregularity of your cycle, I imagine that must be very frustrating for you. Your diet plan sounds amazing, it must be hard but I bet your body is so healthy without all of the added sugar when you do it! x

I'm sorry you are feeling that way @ToysRus56 we were chatting about this the other day, when someone you know is pregnant, it is so tough. Not sure if this is any help to you, but my age gaps will have massively increased now which used to really bother me but now I think to myself that it will be much easier to enjoy another baby with older more independent dc. A small age gap is harder and you don't get to appreciate the baby years the same way x

Hi @LuluGilmore they say having sperm waiting for the egg is better so you definitely still have a chance. But I understand, it's so frustrating when timings don't work out around your peak x

Me too, the first time I concieved I think it was even 3 or 4 days before ovulation. We only did it once in the fertile week I was so shocked I was pregnant

@Ladyinpink1 @BGxxx @erihskreb @LuluGilmore @PoppyPeaches @ToysRus56 @Vanilla90

Sorry for the delay in responses was away on a spa break there for a little me treat after the mc in October! How is everyone doing and where are you all in your cycles?

AF just finished today so now on the count down to OPK testing next week!
Hope you are all doing well and wishing you all lots of baby dust in your cycles!

PoppyPeaches · 01/12/2024 15:15

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for all your kind messages, it sounds like many of us are in the same boat. I think one of the things I struggle with most is the length of time I’ve been feeling sad about this - last Christmas I never would have thought I would still not be pregnant by this Christmas (very naive I now know). I feel like a bit of shell of my former self, I’m emotional, not as happy go lucky as I normally am, and many people at work etc have asked if I’m ok which really isn’t helping! Not when I can’t say that the reason I’m SO sad at the moment is having to work with a newly pregnant person, so I’ve just kind of gone with “personal things nothing to do with work”, and tried to not be visibly sad, but it’s super hard 😬😬
I think if I knew i wouldn’t be feeling like this for much longer it would help, but it’s the endless sadness with no way out (apart from a baby of course! 🤣), but I can’t rely on that! I don’t know if anyone else feels like this??
lots of love xxx

Jess1066 · 01/12/2024 17:49

@PoppyPeaches I'm sorry you are having to experience that! My heart goes out to you but the way you feel is completely normal! We are very much at the start of our ttc journeys again after the mc and I feel very anxious at the thought of it taking longer to conceive this time around so I can completely understand how your sadness would build as time goes on because I'm already anticipating it abd have spoke to my husband about how I would cope with that! I have kept therapy as an option I could persue, if it does take longer this time around as it can be good to talk to someone about everything, is that something you would consider? Sending lots of love and well wishes your way that you won't be waiting for much longer!

Vanilla90 · 01/12/2024 21:26

@BGxxx 4 days before ovulation... that's some super sperm 🤣

@LuluGilmore I know that feeling! My partner often goes on work trips and I get so frustrated if it's during my fertile period. He's actually going away for 3 nights soon, so if we don't conceive this cycle, we'll have limited time next cycle to DTD. Might make ovulation day if we're lucky. So annoying!
I think anything from a 21 day cycle is considered normal? Has it always been 25 days?

@Ladyinpink1 I've got One Step for this cycle. How are you feeling? Any inklings? I'm trying not to symptom spot 🙈

@Jess1066 hope you had a lovely time and spoiled yourself! That was timed well, relaxed and ready to TTC!
CD 27 out of 29/30 for me.

@PoppyPeaches so sorry that you're feeling sad. I honestly feel like wanting a baby takes over your life. You are not alone. I keep thinking that I would have been 9 months pregnant if I didn't have my MC at 11 weeks. I can't help but hate all pregnant people. I think your feelings are normal and justified!

No that’s actually what my partner says about himself 😭🤣🤣

My Ewcm has gone so looks like I’m in for a random cycle, definitely haven’t ovulated yet so think the breastfeeding hormones are messing it up! My little girl wants feeding really often again and her tantrums are horrific when I say no but I was really trying to cut down

Jemmy94 · 02/12/2024 20:53

Hi 👋 Hope you don't mind if I join! Currently ttc #2 we are on cycle 12 now took us 14 months with our first so looks like I'm in for the long haul. Currently 13 dpo just waiting on AF to arrive

What vitamins does everyone take? I've been taking pregnacare for 2 months now but not sure if it's making my cycle longer.

Vanilla90 · 03/12/2024 07:50

@BGxxx your body might try and ovulate again? It's hard isn't it... my little boy does the same if he wakes in the night and I say no. Eventually I give in because I can't stand the screaming and want to go back to sleep.

Hi @Jemmy94 I have been taking pregnacare too. I'm not sure if I believe that vitamins help conception, I'm a bit sceptical like that 🤷‍♀️ but i take them on the off chance that I might fall pregnant and it's good for the baby.
How long are your cycles?

Currently CD 28 and have AF symptoms, just waiting for her to appear, likely tomorrow 🙄

Yeah i think it’ll end up like last cycle where ovulation keeps trying to happen! I’m CD13 and no sign of it yet! I’m glad it’s not just mine that does that🤣 I’ve thought of sleep training but I don’t think she’s the right temperament I genuinely don’t think she’d ever go to sleep 🤣

I took these ones with my first and had no problems, but only started taking them the last two cycles. Im surr theyve made this one longer 🙈They are averaging at 30 days over the last 11 cycles but I am currently day 32 now and testing negative twice this morning with first morning urine...just wish AF would get on with it 😂 ready for the next cycle...

Vanilla90 · 03/12/2024 20:25

@BGxxx I tried sleep training... he just cried until he made himself sick... all over himself and the cot 🙃

@Jemmy94 how weird. No AF symptoms? I hate testing and seeing a BFN and having to wait for AF to come, so annoying. I thought it was coming, but now nothing. The aches and pains have gone, so god knows what my body is doing 🤷‍♀️

I've had the occasional cramps every now and again over the past 3 days but nothing like my usual. I usually wake up and bam she's arrived! It is especially as she is taking her sweet time this time cycle 😬 exactly the same here, its like my bodies saying its confused 🙃

Ladyinpink1 · 03/12/2024 20:47

@Vanilla90 i'm ok, after saying I would definitely wait, I ended up testing yesterday, and it was a bfn. So onto the next cycle. I'm ok about it, I didn't have any symptoms and I always would have symptoms on pregnant cycles.
How are you doing? Have you been stronger than me? Lol x

Hi @Jemmy94 welcome. I'm sorry you have been trying for so long, i am the same, it's very tough. I am taking individual vitamins x
