Hi everyone, I was hoping to start a nice friendly supportive and sensitive thread. Maybe for those ttc for a while or after losses or just finding things difficult with ttc in general. I love to read others have had bfp's as it gives me hope, but have been finding some threads with alot of positive test pictures posted quite difficult.
Hoping to find others looking for the same as it's lovely to have a place to rant, feel sad, feel happy, get advice, or just obsess without judgement 🙂

I am 36, started ttc 2 years ago, had 2 mmc, and have now been ttc for 14 months since the last one without success. Currently on cd14 on a "not tracking"cycle. x

@BGxxx that's so lovely to hear!

CabbageFan · 09/06/2025 12:26

I'm so pissed right now.
I've been having ovulation symptoms for a couple days now (currently cd30). I asked a couple other people who have been on the same medication as I, if I should start taking them now if I ovulate or wait until the next cycle and cd15. (Obviously would've called the clinic as well, just wanted to hear what others have done). I'm supposed to take it for ten days starting from cd15 with an assumption and periods should follow a couple days after the last dose. I assumed that's because we'd want me to be ovulating around cd12-14.
Well, one of the women said that I should wait until ~3dpo, because this medication can ruin ovulation.
I had told my doctor in january and at my appointment last week, that I've been ovulating pretty late between cd17-23 mostly, and that just recently I've had at least one or two anovulatory cycles. And I was supposed to take it for the next six months like the doctor ordered.
It can be a coincidence that suddenly after starting the medication in january, I no longer had ovulation symptoms and some of the cycles became anovulatory altogether, but it might also not be a coincidencee. My doctor potentially screwed my chances of pregnancy for the last six months and would have screwed them for the next six, all because she was obsessed with a 25-28 day cycle instead of trying to figure out my individual needs.
Needless to say, I'm going private for a second opinion before I start taking the medication again. I think I'll even ask the other doctor, if she thinks this is a reason to file a complaint at the clinic, because this particular gynecologist is the only one in town and I can't possibly be the only person she's given poor medical advice to

Muddysocks1 · 09/06/2025 16:09

Hi all, wonder if I can come join you. Just having my second chemical (first was April this year) and going into cycle 15 TTC. Just been referred to the nhs fertility clinic. Feeling quite low about it all, particularly with others pregnant around me and no idea when it’ll work out for us. Also trying to look at it as a new opportunity this cycle and it could be the one!

Hey! I think I recognise your name from some ttc threads? I hope your nhs referall comes through quickly so you can get started!

CabbageFan · 21/06/2025 17:19

@BGxxx still pissed off, but fine.
I finally ovulated around cd31. Luckily we were doing the baby dance around then, but I'm not very optimistic because of the spotting I had for 10 days prior and the late ovulation... I'm ~11dpo and waiting to get my periods, so that I can take the free blood tests at the public clinic and head to a private doc with the results 🫣

BGxxx · 21/06/2025 17:53

@CabbageFan hopefully once your period comes you can start fresh too and not ovulate as late! Hopefully the private doctor is more helpful than the one you’ve had

Hey! Yes I’ve been on a few 🤣
referral accepted now and apparently 12 week wait so imagine to get an appt around September. Annoyingly they don’t use the NHS app so just got to wait to hear something 😬

CabbageFan · 23/06/2025 14:27

I'm not going to say "no fucking way", because, obviously, I know what I was doing two weeks ago.
But I was not expecting this now, after all the weird stuff. 13dpo after only two hours of holding. I'm like, mega pregnant. What the heck. If my kids weren't in the room next door, I'd probably scream 😭😭😭🩷🩷🩷

Oh my god!!! This is so amazing, I’m so shocked to
see this but so happy for you 🤩🤩 you did it!!

CabbageFan · 24/06/2025 10:56

@Vanilla90 @Muddysocks1 thank you girls!!
@BGxxx thank you!! I'm still in disbelief, I keep going to the bin to check if the tests are still positive 😂

I think I'm going to try get a scan for week 6 or 7, so two to three weeks from now. I can't decide when to tell my husband! I want to surprise him with the scan, but on the other hand I'm basically bursting at the seams with this newfound information 😂 Can't help being a gossip girly I guess 💅💋

Would recommend a scan for 7+ weeks (if you can hold out that long!) as they can’t always detect the heartbeat at 6 weeks.

So happy for you, enjoy every minute! I don’t know how you haven’t told him already. I ran in from the bathroom and waved the positive test in my partners face 😂

CabbageFan · 24/06/2025 11:12

@Vanilla90 it's summer holiday season at the clinic and somebody's always off, so that's why I'm hoping to get an appointment for either one of those weeks. Hopefully later in the week 6 or 7+ like you said, but I'm not too picky 🤞
I almost told yesterday... and today... and hubby even caught me in the toilet in thr morning! Lucky me, he didn't come in enough to see the tests, just peeked from the door and asked why I'm up at 5.30 😆 The urge to tell is almost too strong! But I'm determined 💪Our wedding anniversary is this sunday. If I can't make myself wait until the scan, I'll try to bite my tongue until the 29th at least!

BGxxx · 24/06/2025 11:58

@CabbageFan that will be lovely!! I sent mine a photo of the tests and he said he couldn’t really see the lines lol

What a fab anniversary present!! Wrap the tests up 🤣

@BGxxxhow are you getting on? How many weeks are you now?

BGxxx · 24/06/2025 15:03

@Vanilla90 9 weeks! I’ve had 4 scans so far 🤣

CabbageFan · 25/06/2025 07:57

Nooooo! Husband found the tests! 😩 I was planning to give him one in a gift box. But I guess it's the thought that counts, even though the gift was the toilet trash bin 😅
Also, It's only 4+1 and I'm throwing up already. That sucks. I hope that at least if I start this early, I'll also maybe be done early. With my first I started week six and puked non stop for ten weeks 😑

CabbageFan · 02/07/2025 06:02

How's everybody doing?
I'm going 5+1 today and the nausea is getting worse. I feel pretty okay between meals, but basically everythig that goes down also comes up.
Previously I've scheduled my first appointment the next day after getting a positive test, but this time I waited until yesterday. I'm having a scan july 14th and should be 6+6 by then. The nurse on the phone asked me how many births I've had, if I've had any terminations or miscarriages. I was unsure what I should say, because when I told the doctor about last year's chemical, she was very dismissive and called it just a late period. But the nurse said "you know, I'm going to write here that this is your fourth pregnancy". It felt so good that she recognized the loss, even though it was an early one 🥺

BGxxx · 06/07/2025 06:50

@CabbageFan hope you’re doing okay and the wait till the scan speeds past! The sickness does sound a good sign though. I’m 10+6 now, had another private scan yesterday so just waiting for the 12 week scan

CabbageFan · 20/08/2025 14:05

How is everybody doing? I had a very busy summer, but now the kids are back in daycare, the combine harvester is running and life's back to normal again 😀 I hope you all had lovely summers! 💓
The 7 week scan went great, but somehow seeing the little bean made my anxiety worse, because the pregnancy became real. The following six weeks were riddled with miscarriage nightmares. Had a second scan today at 12+1 and everything was well, thank God. Baby was measuring 12+4, but we didn't change the edd. The doctor already went ahead and gave me an additional appointment for week 37, because of my history with precipitous labour. I'm due 3rd of march, but we may have a february baby after all if they decide to induce me earlier. That's still a long way ahead, but I'm glad they're taking it seriously already!

12 week scan is a lovely milestone, so glad it is all going well for you!
The anxiety stayed with me for quite a while, I kept worrying about another loss or something going wrong. I think that’s normal for any of us on this thread.
I’m 37+3, I don’t know where the time has gone, last day at work today!
Hope everyone else is doing well Smile
