Friendly/supportive/sensitive thread 🌱

Hi everyone, I was hoping to start a nice friendly supportive and sensitive thread. Maybe for those ttc for a while or after losses or just finding things difficult with ttc in general. I love to read others have had bfp's as it gives me hope, but have been finding some threads with alot of positive test pictures posted quite difficult.
Hoping to find others looking for the same as it's lovely to have a place to rant, feel sad, feel happy, get advice, or just obsess without judgement 🙂

I am 36, started ttc 2 years ago, had 2 mmc, and have now been ttc for 14 months since the last one without success. Currently on cd14 on a "not tracking"cycle. x

@Jess1066 I have no idea honestly, how difficult! You don’t want to miss out on the cycle 🥲

PoppyPeaches · 25/11/2024 22:05

Hi everyone! I hope it’s ok to join too, I feel like I need a supportive likeminded group too. I’m 35 and have been TTC#1 for 12m now, without even a hint of a bfp! I’ve been to the doctors and we’re starting down the fertility investigations route, however the waiting times are so long it’s really disheartening. Up to now I’ve been tracking everything with no luck, so have decided to stop that and just try to DTD every other day moving forward. I’m CD16 today, and only managed to DTD once this fertile period on CD12, and I usually ovulate day 13-15 (but I don’t know this month as I haven’t tracked) so I’m feeling a bit disheartened that’s it’s not enough but know I’m not completely without hope. To make matters worse one of my colleagues in a small team of 6 is 9 weeks pregnant (managed it the first month, and she’s 10 years younger than me). I’m finding it really really hard, I’m obviously happy for her but inside I’m everything from devastated to jealous to fucking livid 🤣. I was just about coping day to day with my own sadness/disappointment when not having to be in close proximity to a pregnant person, but I am truly devastated now (for myself), whilst also feeling like a bad person as she’s lovely and done nothing wrong.
Anyway it’s nice to hear some nice things from others going through tough times as well, and I wish everyone the very best with this cycle!

@Jess1066 I don't think it's an issue DTD a couple of days before a smear. I doubt having the polyp removed or the smear would affect anything. I would just carry on as normal as I wouldn't want to miss my fertile window lol. What is it you're unsure of?
I'm feeling okay. December is going to be a busy month, we're going away for a few days and then with Christmas coming up I'll be kept busy, so I'm trying the whole "what will be, will be" approach.

@PoppyPeaches Hi! Been there with the pregnant colleague situation, it doesn't make you a bad person at all! I feel like that when I see pregnancy announcements on social media, let alone working in a team with someone who is pregnant.
CD 12 is a great time to have DTD, you're definitely in with a chance!
How long are waiting times roughly, did they say? Hope you're not waiting too long. Hopefully you'll get a BFP and not need the appointmentSmile

You’re definitely not a bad person! It’s very difficult when it seems to come easy to everyone else and not you. I’m guilty of feeling envious and almost annoyed at people who get pregnant super easy and have no issues which is very unfair of me, I just can’t help it 😬

Ladyinpink1 · 27/11/2024 13:47

Sorry for late reply, we have had a lovely virus in the house, it's constant once school goes back 😷

@Vanilla90 I have the granny pill box! Although mine is quite fancy actually if I may say so 😂
Ha ha I do the sane with dh the minute he gets in from work when I am fertile. Mine doesn't complain lol x

So glad to hear you are feeling a little better @Jess1066 , I hope this happens quickly for you again, you are still lovely and young so hopefully the loss was a one off. 💗 I know what you mean, when I ttc before I was completely oblivious to things going wrong really but it just changes everything after. About the smear... i'm really not sure either x

Hi @PoppyPeaches I relate to so much of your post, I have been ttc for a long time now too, nothing since a loss last August and I went a bit crazy tracking so just dtd every other day with no tracking this cycle.
I am so sorry about your colleague being pregnant, your feelings are completely normal and most of us have been there. It's nothing to do with the person but rather the situation that they are in that you wish so much was you too don't you. Sorry about the waiting times, it's so frustrating. x

I find pregnant ladies a huge trigger. My sil fell pregnant just after my loss and so was pregnant through these past months when have been ttc and although I love her and get on so well with her, I just couldn't be around her, it literally hurt my heart. It's easier now the baby is born (which is crazy and makes no sense lol) x

Yes it’s over! It was sooo light though, I think because my luteal phase was really short possibly? And I already have ewcm on cd7🤣 I have no idea what’s going on

Hope you’re doing okay!

Vanilla90 · 27/11/2024 21:48

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is well!

@Ladyinpink1 hope you're feeling better and recovering? Children love to spread their germs, I don't envy you 😅

What CD everyone on? I'm on CD 23, I have a 29/30 day cycle. I usually have a 17 day Luteal phase. Does anyone know if this is normal? Seems a little long?

Ladyinpink1 · 27/11/2024 22:15

@BGxxx lol it's a mystery! It must be kind of normal on some level because my ewcm starts almost right after my period too. Hoping it's a good sign for you 🙂 I am good thank you, cd 18 today, dont know my exact dpo so that's nice x

According to Google, a 11 to 17 day LP is normal. @Vanilla90 so yes 17 days is in range.
I am cd 18, would we be due af at similar times then? Mine is due Fri 6th x

OP posts:
Vanilla90 · 27/11/2024 22:31

@Ladyinpink1 @BGxxx if your ewcm starts soon after your period, how many days do you have it for? I only get it for a day, so when I see it, I go into baby making panic mode 😂

Ah okay, thanks. I thought if you had a longer LP then you usually have a longer cycle, and I don't really, so was confused.

Yes pretty close then, I'm due Wednesday 4th! I'm going to try and not test unless I am late. My body gives me pretty sure signs that AF is coming though, so I'm sure I'll know a couple of days before. I break out in spots and get achy. When do you think you'll test? x

Jess1066 · 27/11/2024 23:46

@Ladyinpink1 yeah we are trying to go back into ttc hopeful like we did last time! We are going to try have a it will happen when it happens attitude and not put pressure on ourselves! How long that lasts for I'm not sure though!

@PoppyPeaches you are definitely not alone in feeling that way! After my loss I didn't even know how speak to or be around my SIL but I'm finding that with time it is getting easier but I don't think certain feelings ever go away, it's always a reminder you know!

@Vanilla90 cycle day 4 currently so still waiting for AF to leave! I think I'm set to ovulate around the 10th so I'll start tracking from the 4th and see if app predictions are right!

Ladyinpink1 · 28/11/2024 06:54

@Vanilla90 That's good that you know exactly when you are fertile. I have ewcm most of my cycle, but I would say it is more abundant and clearer around fertile time and then I get an increase a few days before my period which is how I know af is coming... although I did Google this ages ago and apparently ewcm before your period is normal due to a peak in a certain hormone, can't remember which. But yes that's why opks and bbt were so valuable so I knew when to dtd or we would be dtd every day for the full cycle. Sorry you have just got a full essay on my CM... 😂

If you have 29 or 30 day cycles and you have a 17 day LP, does it just mean because you ovulate earlier rather than later your cycle isn't long. So you must ovulate CD 12? Or have I got that wrong lol.

I will try very hard not to test at all. But? Will you wait for those signs? x

Before I had my little girl I would get it cd12 for about 5 days, but before this period I had it continuously for weeks🤣 I think my hormones are just a bit all over

Vanilla90 · 28/11/2024 11:01

@Ladyinpink1 That's what we're here for, to talk about the glamorous journey of TTC lol I've seen some threads on here where women post pics of their CM, so your essay is fine 🤣
i have a 30 day cycle and ovulate around CD12/13, so I have to wait a little longer than 2 weeks before I know if I've been successful. As if TWW isn't long enough!
I'm not going to test unless I am late. I feel like the wait for AF will just drag if it's negative. Plus I had a chemical before, so early testing will make me anxious I think. Be strong and hold out! What tests do you use? I got Amazon cheapies for this cycle, but I haven't used them before.

@BGxxx I found my first couple of cycles were a bit hectic after my son. I didn't have a period for ages because I was breastfeeding, then when I did, it was all over the place, so I went back on the pill for a bit to get it back on track. Our bodies are weird things! How old is your little girl?

@Jess1066 Apparently you can be more fertile after a MC, so fingers crossed for you!🤞what did you decide to do about your smear?

@PoppyPeaches hope you're okay!

Jess1066 · 28/11/2024 13:02

@Vanilla90 yes I had heard that as well, I hope that it's true! I'm really trying to not get ahead of myself thinking that we'll get a little Christmas surprise, honestly I think it would be the best present anyone could give me! Finding it hard though but husband is trying to keep me grounded so I dont end up really disappointedat Christmas time! I decided to keep the appt as it would only be 2 days from ovulation until my smear so don't think it would really impact on anything! And if I don't get a bfp then at least the smear is done for few years!

erihskreb · 28/11/2024 15:43

Hi all, I'm almost 30 and we only started officially trying this cycle but I'm pretty sure that I haven't ovulated at all this year (if ever!) which has really got me down because I know it's only going to get more disappointing as time goes on! I'm trying to focus on the things I can control like lifestyle, supplements etc but I find it really hard not knowing if I will ever actually succeed.

Hi @erihskreb what makes you think you aren't ovulating? Have you tried tracking with tests?x

Vanilla90 · 28/11/2024 15:48

Hi @erihskreb what makes you think you aren't ovulating? Have you tried tracking with tests?x

I have PCOS and my cycles are super irregular - last year I think I had about 2 periods, this year I've had 3 natural ones plus 2 brought on by medroxyprogesterone. I read that tests aren't accurate with PCOS because LH doesn't peak in the same way (and also when you're looking at a 3 month cycle it's impossible to know when to test!) but I've started tracking my temperature and haven't had a spike in the 6 weeks I've been doing it. I've started taking some different supplements now though so hopefully that will help and I'm going to quit sugar again after Christmas.

Vanilla90 · 28/11/2024 16:42

@erihskreb TTC is a rollercoaster and not always as easy for some, but don't lose hope, it doesn't mean you won't get there.
My friend was in exactly the same position as you and she's just had baby girl.
Good shout on quitting sugar after Xmas, you don't want a sugar ban in December!

That’s good to hear about your friend 😊 I keep telling myself as well that my mum also has PCOS and she managed to have me and my sibling so if she can do it so can I!

It’s partly for yummy Christmas food and partly to give time to prepare! I quit it for a while last year but it’s so hard because it’s in bloody everything nowadays! So I’ve got a few weeks to get ahead on making some sauces, bread, soup etc to go into the freezer for when I don’t have time to make stuff from scratch so I’m not resorting to ready made stir fry sauce which is about 15% sugar 😱

Vanilla90 · 28/11/2024 17:16

@Jess1066 It's easy to get carried away isn't it! All I think about is babies, my brain needs a break 😅 I hope you get a lovely Christmas surprise!

Wow, now that's what I call dedication, I wish I could food prep like that @erihskreb so do you cut it out completely?

Have you tried the proov pdg tests? They tell you if you’ve ovulated, but not sure if they’d be any good if you’re already doing bbt and that’s not showing anything!

@Vanilla90 my little girl is 16 months, how old is your son?

erihskreb · 29/11/2024 08:55

@Vanilla90 yeah when I did it before I cut out all types of added sugar, even dextrose. I normally meal prep on a Sunday anyway so I’m trying to plan ahead for those times that we’re busy or away at the weekend that throw a spanner in things!

@BGxxx I hadn’t heard of those, will have a look thank you!
