Hi everyone, I was hoping to start a nice friendly supportive and sensitive thread. Maybe for those ttc for a while or after losses or just finding things difficult with ttc in general. I love to read others have had bfp's as it gives me hope, but have been finding some threads with alot of positive test pictures posted quite difficult.
Hoping to find others looking for the same as it's lovely to have a place to rant, feel sad, feel happy, get advice, or just obsess without judgement 🙂

I am 36, started ttc 2 years ago, had 2 mmc, and have now been ttc for 14 months since the last one without success. Currently on cd14 on a "not tracking"cycle. x

Hi! We have been trying to ttc for around d 4 years without success. I had long periods of no ovulation, so it makes it hard. Waiting for my 2nd cycle since 6 months without. But I thought I had ovulated this time, but just had a positive opk day before my period is due. Feeling down today, im trying to be positive but I'm struggling today.

@Figtree11 yes I definitely get the wanting to wait. The holiday idea sounds perfect, something to look forward too

Edited

Definitely, we’ve booked a week in the sun in June. Should be around the sort of time the test results come back.
How are you getting on? Do you think you’ve ovulated now?

Figtree11 · 04/04/2025 08:56

@AnonKat I’m sorry you are struggling. Have you had any tests done etc to see about the periods of no ovulation?

We’re going on holiday in June too! And in July, we wanted to go before our little one turns 2 and we have to pay full price 🤣🤣

Still no ovulation, I’m cycle day 15 but I think I’ve got the flu, I feel so unwell🥲 I’ve been really tired and having headaches lately too so getting my iron retested in case it’s low from the blood loss

Figtree11 · 04/04/2025 09:30

@BGxxx sounds a great idea! Definitely worth doing to save money.
Oh no I hope you feel better soon. When I was ill last year I had a very weird cycle so it might be throwing it off for this month

Hi Anonkat, I sympathise - I don’t ovulate regularly either and it’s so frustrating. I’m being seen at the fertility clinic now and they think the best option is medication to induce ovulation. Has that been suggested to you?

Thank you for your reply! Against the odds, the day after my post i got a positive pregnancy test! Apparently opk test can pick up pregnancy hormones.

So there is hope for us ladies who struggle to ovulate, as I've only successfully ovulated 4 times in a year. So fingers crossed in your journey ❤️

Figtree11 · 01/04/2025 16:22

@Vanilla90 thank you. I am doing ok at this moment in time, but know it’s very early days. Think I feel a bit better knowing I’m under the care of Tommys & not waiting half a year for a referral.
Think I just need to feel like ‘me’ for a bit and not thinking about anything TTC. Going to book a holiday to look forward to.
How are you? Did you get your test results back?

Great idea booking a holiday! Where are you off to?
I did the exact same thing after my loss in September to give me something to look forward to.
Hope your results don’t take too long to come back.
My results came back as low risk for Downs, which is good. Just want the 20 week scan out of the way, then I can relax.
You live in stress TTC and then when you finally do, you stress about whether it’s all going to be okay!

@Vanilla90 oh that’s great, so glad it’s come back as low risk

Notsure31 · 08/04/2025 11:44

Has anyone got experience with retained tissue following a loss? I’ve been diagnosed with 28mm of retained tissue from my TFMR with a blood supply to it.

I had 600mcg misoprostol last night for medical management however nothing is happening. They said call in a week if nothing happens but from what I’ve read something should happen sooner? My hcg was only 14 so coming down but I’ve continuously bled since my TFMR over 3 weeks ago. I wanted to avoid the surgical option due to worry about scarring as I’ve had 3 surgeries for mmc previously.

Figtree11 · 08/04/2025 12:13

@Notsure31 i don’t have experience of retained tissue, but I have had misoprostol twice now for missed miscarriages. Did you have the 4 tablets to insert? It took about 6 hours for it to work for me. The first time I did it I took the tablets orally, and when nothing happened with the first 4, I was then to take 2 more later in the day

Notsure31 · 08/04/2025 13:31

@Figtree11 they only prescribed me 600mcg which was 3 tablets, maybe because it was only retained tissue not a full pregnancy? Either way it’s not working 😂 I also didn’t get given more to have later in the day either. It’s so frustrating as I really don’t want surgery as I’ve had this in the past so want to reduce risk of scarring.

Figtree11 · 08/04/2025 13:50

@Notsure31 thats frustrating. I did it last week, and I was stressing out & googling about it as nothing was really happening. Then 6 hours later suddenly it started. I’m sorry that it doesn’t seem to be doing much yet. I wonder if it’s worth asking if taking more tablets might work? Do they think it might come out when your period comes?

BGxxx · 20/04/2025 17:43

Hey girls, hope everyone is doing okay! I’m back ttc this month but negative as expected. Just checking in with you all! Hope you’re doing okay in your wait for results @Figtree11 I’ve been thinking of you xx

Notsure31 · 20/04/2025 22:16

I ended up having to have another MVA for the retained tissue, I’ve got a follow up hysteroscopy in 3 weeks. I’m now so worried about Ashermans due to the amount of procedures I’ve had even though they said it’s still rare. I’ve also developed endometritis again so I’m on antibiotics for that and hoping it’s not caused any further damage to my lining/tubes etc. I’m thinking about asking for a hycosy in addition to hysteroscopy to check tubes. I’m hoping to get the all clear to ttc after the hysteroscopy but I’m being realistic there may be scar tissue or something that needs treating first, it just feels like a never ending battle!

erihskreb · 21/04/2025 21:34

Fingers crossed they give you the all clear @Notsure31 !

Hope you’re recovered from your flu @BGxxx , maybe that affected your ovulation as your body needed to heal?

I’m having a blood test this week to test for rubella immunity, if I don’t have it then apparently need to get an MMR booster. Once I have confirmed immunity I can finally start letrozole to get me ovulating 🥳 They’ve said I can have 12 cycles and I was only expecting 6 so that’s good. I’ve just ordered a ferti-lily to hopefully boost chances, has anyone tried it?

BGxxx · 22/04/2025 07:32

@Notsure31 that sounds so stressful!! I’ve heard of Ashermans but never known anyone to have it so hopefully it is rare and you’ll be okay🤞🏻

@erihskreb I was ill for about 2 weeks 🙄 I think it did affect ovulation, I ovulated a week late! I tried the ferti-lily when I was trying for my first! It was really easy to use, I actually still have it, I might try it again🤣

Notsure31 · 22/04/2025 09:44

Just wondering if anyone else on this thread has had both a hycosy and a hysteroscopy? I’ve got a hysteroscopy in a few weeks to check my womb but my fertility acupuncturist has also advised me to ask for a hycosy as the hysteroscopy won’t check the tubes, just as I’m currently being treated for endometritis so to check it’s not blocked or damaged my tubes. I’m assuming these two tests can’t be done at the same time? I don’t know whether to contact the consultants secretary to ask now or just wait until I see my consultant in a few weeks x

I haven't been feeling very great so I've not talked here for a while. But you've all been in my thoughts. I hope you all had a blessed easter!
I'm 9dpo today and woke up with spotting and my bbt was unusually low even compared to my period and follicular phase temperatures. I was so hopeful that I was having implantation spotting and an implantation dip in my bbt, but as the day has gone past it's no longer spotting but light bleeding. If this really is AF, she's come nearly 10 days early 🥲 There's so much conflicting information about implantation bleeding. One site says it should be just a light pink stain on toilet paper when you wipe, the other states it can be light bleeding and last two to three days... I think I'll just log this as periods anyway to stop from hyping myself up 😬
Have any of you had implantation spotting? What was it like?

I have twice, both times at around 6-8dpo not 100% on dates, very very light brown/pink mixed with discharge

BGxxx · 22/04/2025 23:39

@Notsure31 how do you find accupuncture?? I’ve contacted a local lady to start!

CabbageFan · 23/04/2025 04:33

Progressed into full on menstrual bleeding during the night. So I had a 25 day cycle and only 9dpo luteal phase 🤯 That's quite the change, even from my usual irregularities. Ovulated cd17 so my luteal phase was only 9 days.
What on earth could be causing these cycle issues? My prolactins were fine, my blood showed no thyroid issues, even my iron levels were good. I'm not under any stress, nor have I lost or gained a huge amount of weight. The gynecologist saw nothing wrong in my uterus or ovaries on the ultrasound. Two more months until I can get another appointment 🙁

Notsure31 · 23/04/2025 08:08

@BGxxx i really like it, it helps me relax if anything. My lady who does it is an ex-midwife which is super helpful. Even though my last pregnancy was a TFMR acupuncture was one thing I did consistently through the 1st trimester which I hadn’t done with my early miscarriages, so I will definitely keep it up next time in case it was one of the things which helped them stick through the first trimester x

Notsure31 · 23/04/2025 08:12

Has anyone else had private hormone levels check e.g through medichecks or Hertility? I did it before ttc and have done them in the past, I’m wondering if I should do one again following my latest loss before ttc again? I want the reassurance my hormones are back to normal but it does feel frustrating having to fork out every time I have a loss. It would be awkward to book in at my GP as they need to be done on day 3-5 of cycle x
