TTC after chemical pregnancy

LucyCL · 13/05/2024 16:51

I had a MC this Jan , 6 weeks and 1 day. Then I had a CP last Tuesday, 4 weeks and 6 days. I finally stopped bleeding today. Two pregnancies and two MCs so far.

I would like to know what your ttc experiences were like after CP. I admit I felt so lost when I saw the line getting fainter and I have been feeling very low and anxious for the last 7 days. However it is not healthy and it is time to be positive! So, I will be trying again this month. That is why I decided to start this thread.

@LucyCL something stranged happened… me and hubby dtd (beforehand I noticed ewcm… or at the very least… stringy mucus but might be put down to being in the mood)… afterward I noticed blood. I wiped and I still had watery CM just tinged with pink blood. Not sure if it’s AF / implantation bleeding / more rough usual sex (tmi!). Could it also be lower cervix sensitivity? I think I’m gearing towards AF honestly as it’s about that time.

this was about 30-45 minutes ago and I just wiped and seems clear - just watery again.

Will deffo be keeping an eye on it just to make sure though! Will keep you updated!

@LucyCL ok thst’s good to know! Yes, no PDG data from me so no idea where that’s at! Last cycle, it looked like I potentially had a 10/11/12 day LP and today would be day 11 of that so AF potentially due in 2 days but it’s all just guesswork as my cycle has been massively thrown off!

so from 8dpo, could that be a telltale sign you were not pregnant in hindsight?

all good info! I have heard that implantation occurs around 6-12dpo with 9 being the most common (and last cycle, that seemed about right for me), but again… weird cycle! Especially with the super late ovulation!

im still not sure if I will test! I think im just putting it off because I’d rather not know and just wait to see if AF comes! Will keep an eye on my CM today and see if any spotting occurs because then I’ll know I’m deffo not pregnant!

Love that you are getting pizza - right on theme 😂 make this moment a positive in some way 🥰❤️ new cycle! You got it!

In my case, my BBT from the previous pregnancies stayed elevated above 37 degrees until MCs. In this cycle, a drop in BBT below 36.9 on 8 dpo was a telltale sign for me that I might not be pregnant.
I wonder if this period will also last for 7 days and I will ovulate around CD17 - 19?? Because in the 2nd cycle of my 1st MC, I bled for 7 days and ovulated on CD17.
Try not to stress yourself that much when you test it tomorrow!

If you are still worried, there is one way to find out - cervix position. Maybe your hubby could do it for you because if the cervix position is low, that means AF is likely to arrive. Otherwise, it is fine. I measured mine yesterday and it was really low then AF arrived today.

@LucyCL i’ll give the cervix thing a go 😂 can you tell me what im feeling for? I looked at the diagram but am very confused! Will my finger just hit something at some point?

Here is what I found:
The cervix can feel like the tip of a nose with a dimple in the middle, and it kind of looks like a tiny donut. You can feel your cervix by gently putting one or two clean or gloved fingers deep into your vagina.

OP posts:
LucyCL · 10/06/2024 17:17

@GreenPickle If you can insert your entire finger inside, that means the cervix position is high. I did it when I was close to ovulate in previous cycles.

OP posts:
GreenPickle · 10/06/2024 17:23

@LucyCL so a low cervix will stop my finger going in all the way? I’m not sure if I’m just missing the cervix and going really deep 😂😂😂 they should teach this stuff in schools honestly

Yes a low cervix will stop the finger going in all the way. When your finger touches something and you can try feeling its surrounding because you can feel there is a "ball" in the centre. Then you can circle your finger around the "ball", and feel its end at the base of the "ball". That "ball" is your cervix.
I have tried my best. 😂

@LucyCL super useful! Obviously didn’t get taught good biology 😂 I can reach my finger all the way in but at this point don’t even know what I’m feeling for as don’t have anything to compare it to… no blood or even a tinge of pink to be seen now. Not sure if it’s soft, hard, low, high 😂
will just have to wait it out and try and not give myself an infection!

It is promising!! By the sound of it, the cervix position is high which is good. Because our body is really clever. It lowers the cervix down to let the period blood out and makes it higher for sex (There is a good reason for that!). I look forward to hearing from you about the test result !

im leaning towards AF still to protect myself. Not sure what bleeding was - maybe just rough sex? It’s hard not to second guess everything but not I’m unsure whether to read tomorrow or wait a few more days in case it was implantation?

I wiped again and all clear and no blood on fingers!

In my case, everything the internet says about the position of cervix does match mine. However it MAKES SENSE to protect yourself because I don't want to give you false hope.
I also doubt that it was implantation bleeding, maybe it was caused by sex. Try not to overthink too much. : )

How are you feeling this morning? Have you tested it yet? xx

OP posts:
LucyCL · 11/06/2024 13:31

Today is CD2.

My BBT finally has dropped down to its baseline level before CP.
My BBT of a normal cycle on CD1/2 is usually around 36.4 degrees and it stays more or less the same during the period which lasts for 5 days.
But last cycle my BBT stayed elevated for the whole period which lasted for 7 days!
Seeing it back to 36.4 degrees is definitely a relief! 😍
LH dropped so it must be true that LH level rises when it is close to AF.
I have deleted the previous data of wrist temperature because the baseline temperature was based on the luteal phase of the post CP cycle.
So, I still have to wait for 3 more night to get my TRUE baseline temperature.
My RHR went down to 57 which means this is also my TRUE RHR.

Everything resets on CD1/2 which is great to collect accurate data and predict the future. Today I am really happy to get everything established by starting over again. At least this time it is a normal cycle for me.

This is the BBT chart of the post CP cycle (follicular phase). As you can see, BBT stayed elevated during the whole period. It was not normal for me.

Hi I really hope you don’t mind me jumping on. I’m currently going through a CP. I am now 15dpo with no period yet.
I tested very positive 11,12,13dpo and a 1-2 well digital on 11 & 13.
total stark white negative 14 & 15 DPO.

I am desperate just for my period to come so I can try again. Currently in a deep low and can’t stop crying I don’t know how I will come back from this. I’m 39 and scared this was my last chance xxxx

I am really really really sorry that you are going through this. Sometimes I wonder why and if I have done something wrong. However please think of it like this: If we didn't have the technology to detect early pregnancy, we wouldn't have known about chemical pregnancy. We would have treated CPs as heavy periods. Also there is nothing we can do to prevent CPs.
I know age increases the risk of MCs however CP is a good sign that you can get pregnant. What I did after I stopped bleeding is to start a new thread and update every single day of the post CP cycle and even now with the second cycle after CP. Also I tried to make it fun because I love collecting data and I wanted to know more about our body and our female hormones. People who found this thread also shared their experiences and stories so I keep learning more about my body.
Instead of grieving for my two pregnancy losses, I decided to treat this as an interesting experiment. This is my way of healing and not giving up or staying positive after feeling lost.
You can keep me updated if you want or please leave any questions here, I will try my best to answer you. Sending visual hugs to you xx

I am now comparing this cycle to the 2nd cycle after my 1st MC.
This cycle: heavy bleeding on CD1/2 which is normal
The 2nd cycle after my 1st MC: heaving bleeding , the same

Now I wonder how many days I will bleed because I bled for 7 days for the 2nd cycle after my 1st MC.
I used to bleed for 5 days before MCs. So, it'd be interesting to find out. 😊

@LucyCL helllloooo! My test this morning was a BFN which was expected and I think I’m spotting (very lightly) now so must mean AF is on it’s way (which weirdly I’m excited for!).

If no full flow by Friday, I’ll take another test. Going to do an LH taste later as well if I remember (or tomorrow!).

I wonder if your BBT was higher because HCG was still leaving your system. Both of our last cycles were messed up so I’m not including it 😂

I think any cycles immediately after MCs should be taken with caution as our bodies are still readjusting!

im hoping my body gets back to normal now. My bleeds are normally 5-6 days (the first day is agony). Will start doing OPKs from the day after my period ends and maybe do digital opks from then as well (not sure they really work for me though!).

I probably won’t be checking mumsnet as often but please keep posting updates and I will too when I jump on 🤞 I’m going to try and check it once a week! sometimes I find it super overwhelming ❤️

im really positive about this month for both of us. My plan is to DTD as in the SMEP method to give the sperm time to recover itself (lol)

I was thinking of you. Because I knew you really wanted to get a BFP, I was worried that it would break your heart again if you didn't. Your cycle after CP has been a very long and wonky one as we were going through ours together at the same time.

I am actually relieved to hear that you are feeling very positive for the next cycle! 😃
My body was still "recycling" and might be infertile after CP. I ovulated for the last two months from my right ovary and I feel like the next egg will come from my left ovary. I got pregnant for the first time from the egg from the left ovary and that egg stuck in the uterus until I ran really stupidly fast then 1st MC happened. So I have the feeling that this egg is going to be a good one and this cycle is going to be a normal one. ❤

I will keep updating my BBT, LH strips, RHR, Mira chart and wrist temperature chart every day. Occasionally I will share what I find interesting (who knows what I will find? Hahahaha) I also do this for science!

I have heard about SMEP method and started to try it for a few days then it turned BD into the daily routine (tmi). We plan to do the same this cycle too.

I also have a great feeling about us this new cycle because I feel like we are reborn once again and anything is possible!
Please keep me updated whenever you check mumsnet. I am interested in seeing how your ttc story continues after CP.💖Babydust to all of us!!

@LucyCL how is the Apple Watch temp going? Still thinking about getting one, just want to make sure I’d use it!

i am cd44 today and have been spotting lightly still so I think CD1 will be the end of the week for me!

im hoping this cycle is the one and my
body has regulated itself! I had a few high days of LH this month and don’t know when I ovulated so I may have missed the egg completely because of this!

im ready for a new cycle now!

Apple Watch temp - I have deleted the previous data until the first day I started to bleed which was on Monday.
It needs 5 nights of sleep to establish your baseline so if you are planning to use RHR with the help of LH strips to monitor your cycle, then I'd recommend you purchase it soon. You can start using it at the beginning of the cycle, everything will be measured at your true baseline level.
RHR - It varies a bit during the day so the data is more accurate in the evening.

Actually ... I have read one person's experience in one of the threads saying they got LH peaks and surges every month after their CP however they never actually ovulated. I was so shocked and left a comment to ask this person how they found . They haven't got back to me yet. My assumption is they did a 21 day progesterone level check at the GP or a Proov pdg check at home. So it is really important to find out if you actually ovulate or not.

CD3: PdG, E3G and PSH are within normal range however LH level is a bit higher however I am not worried.
My BBT rose a bit as expected.
Everything looks fine to me!
