TTC after chemical pregnancy

LucyCL · 13/05/2024 16:51

I had a MC this Jan , 6 weeks and 1 day. Then I had a CP last Tuesday, 4 weeks and 6 days. I finally stopped bleeding today. Two pregnancies and two MCs so far.

I would like to know what your ttc experiences were like after CP. I admit I felt so lost when I saw the line getting fainter and I have been feeling very low and anxious for the last 7 days. However it is not healthy and it is time to be positive! So, I will be trying again this month. That is why I decided to start this thread.

well the bleeding has started less than 48 hours of my negative test. Feeling pretty sad but trying to be positive.
Does today count as CD1? Or do I wait for my next period, sounds silly but does this count as an official period.
the bleeding is very light atm.
I am booked in for 5 day bloods on Monday to look at FSH and progesterone and FBC.
does anyone suggest any particular supplements?
I’m worried that now this has happened it’s going to take over my life and I will feel the pressure. I am 39 , 40 in January so having a panic attack.

hope everyone is ok xxx

Hi everyone, I don’t know if this is the right place to post but currently feeling very alone and don’t know what’s going on. I got a positive test on June 7th the day after my period was due. And a digital confirmed the next day. I had some brown spotting and then yesterday, the 11th, everytime I went to the bathroom I was wiping away pink blood. Called EPU and was sent to A&e. They confirmed was pregnant with urine test and bloods although they couldn’t tell me the hcg.
we are assuming a chemical pregnancy and for the last 24 hours I have continued to have pink/ red blood only when wiping, it never makes its way to a pad or pants, it’s like there is no flow to it. I have to go back to EPU for bloods and follow up. I’m 39 with many years of infertility and this was my first ever positive pregnancy. I thought I would be bleeding with flow and on a pad by now, I’m not holding out hope as I’m scared to but generally don’t feel like I understand my own body just now.
I'm sending baby dust to you all!

hi I am really sorry you are going through this.

we are similar. I am 39 years and had lots of positives on 10,11,12,13 DPO. But back to negative 14,15 I have started my period today 16dpo and it is heartbreaking.

Light bleeding can be normal in pregnancy, are your tests still positive?

when are you going back for bloods? I am praying that it is not a CP for you and sending you lots of baby dust.

xx

Yes, I counted the first day of bleeding as CD1. It is a period after all.
Some people bled lightly however most people who I talked to here bled heavily.
Currently I am taking proceive vitamins, Vital DHA, vitamin E, Black Maca complex, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin D3, Femceive, Psyllium Husk Capsules , N-Acetyl Cysteine and vitamin D oral spray.

Your hormone levels are currently affected by CP so I recommend you to take Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin D3 with prenatal vitamin, omega 3 fish oil and folic acid.
Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin D3 and flaxseed will help to balance your hormone levels. Although CP affected my cycle badly causing my LH level to fluctuate a lot however because of the supplements I am taking, my cycle lasted for 34 days which is within a normal cycle range.
Now according to Mira, my hormone levels are fine. Good luck to you and please keep us updated with the result of your blood tests!

I am sorry you found this thread because of what you are experiencing however it is the right place to talk about anything if you are experiencing a CP or any MCs (Although I only had one 1 MC earlier).
It is really frustrating not knowing what our body is going through after a CP however there are ways to find out if it is a CP

  1. BBT: If there is a sudden drop, it is very likely to be CP
  2. Taking a pregnancy test to see if the line gets lighter
  3. RHR: If it goes down, it is likely to be CP
Here is my picture of line progression here when CP happened.

Thank you for replying, they got a positive yesterday again in A&e but they have been faint since the start and I am prepared for a CP as all signs point that way.

it’s just strange as I expected to be bleeding more but all yesterday it was only when I wiped and today it is lighter and again only when i wipe, nothing ever reaches my pants or pad.
I am awaiting an appointment for follow up bloods so that will be more definitive but I’m prepared for CP and just wanting a definite answer but time will tell unfortunately.

well I hope myself and you have all the luck and baby dust moving forward.

Thank you for your reply. I haven’t been doing bbt but have been doing tests and all have remained faint positive so I was aware this was a chance, I think it’s harder as I still am not bleeding properly but assume that will come in time. I am awaiting a call to go to the EPU for follow up bloods and scan but I believe it is CP.
first time ever even getting pregnant so I’m taking that as a positive as until the last 6 months I had very irregular cycles and wasn’t ovulating properly but somehow at 39 my body started working and within 5 months I got a positive so I’m trying to hold onto that through this.

thank you all ! Xx

There might be hope. Because I also have seen someone talking about having another potential CP again however after a few days the line actually got darker after a few days. Maybe your FMU/SMU was more diluted? It could be a possibility.

@LucyCL maybe I’ll get a BBT thermometer anyway… which one would
you recommend? I’m thinking the easy@home one will do for me! Can any of them connect through Bluetooth or do I input the data manually?

still thinking about the Apple Watch! Think it might be too big for my wrist 😭

I use the easy@home one and I enter BBTs manually. I don't know if it can do bluetooth. 😅 I have a super thin wrist and I currently am suing S/M size. You can adjust it.
Now that I am using wrist temperature on MY apple watch so I am treating BBT as a second opinion.

Thanks but I think it might be inevitable, have bloods tomorrow again at EPU and confirmed yesterday hcg was 17 at A&E. I don’t know when I ovulated but roughly yesterday I would have been 18dpo so with that and the bleeding when I wipe I think new bloods will confirm it as chemical pregnancy.

GreenPickle · 12/06/2024 14:33

@LucyCL have ordered the thermometer and another box of OPKs (with 20 hgc tests!).

also I read that if you sleep with the watch face on your inside wrist and a bit tighter, it’s more accurate! Not sure if you’re trying that!

I think for me the watch face might be too big and clunky. I am still thinking about it but I’ll use the thermometer for now! I did some reading on how it works etc so hopefully I know when I O!

I see, and I think either tonight or tomorrow morning you might start bleeding properly. On the day of bleeding, my hcg was 12 at 10 a.m then I started to bleed in the evening.

To be honest, the thermometer and another box of OPKs are sufficient enough. : )
I shall try sleeping with the watch face on my inside wrist for sure! Thank you!
I bought the apple watch because I love collecting data and using it to know what my body is doing. Hahahahaha

Also here is what I found online: Make sure you get at least three hours of uninterrupted sleep each night to ensure an accurate reading. As a reminder, movement (sitting up/getting out of bed), interrupted sleep, drinking water, and being awake before measuring will affect your temperature. You need to measure while lying down and as soon as you wake up; otherwise, the temperature will be affected by not measuring right away.

@LucyCL same! I’m still thinking about the Apple Watch to use it for other things as well but will use the BBT until I’m decided.

thank you for the info, it’s very helpful. Does it have to be the EXACT same time everyday? I wake up at about 6am on a weekday and probably a bit later on the weekend…or is doing it as soon as I wake up good enough? I assume you just leave it on your bedside table and grab it in the morning?

GreenPickle · 12/06/2024 15:30

@Maxi224 sorry you’re going through this - it’s crap!

if it helps, I was spotting for a few days beforehand and then I had red fresh blood (only a wipe or two though). I then went to the GP who was useless and started bleeding at around 12am. I was woken up with stomach cramps. I went to A&E but probably could have done without it as they were useless as well

Thank you honestly I’ve felt less alone in a few messages on here than I have done in days. I agree A&E were terrible and I don’t even know why they send u there I was so dehumanised. I’m prepared for it now even if it hurts and will try and take the positive that I actually managed to conceive which has always been an issue so hopefully next time it will stick. Much love to you ❤️

Well, I tried to do it at the exact same time but I woke up at different times so no I don't do it. I measure BBT whenever I wake up and yes it has been on my bedside table since I started. Doing it as soon as you wake up before you get out of the bed is good.

I have been bleeding less today. It seems this period is getting back to normal as well. Let's see if it will last for 5 or 7 days. 🤔

Dehumanised is spot on! I was there for 7 hours and the nurse told me in front of the waiting room my test was negative and didn’t believe I had actually taken one originally!

yes! It’s positive that you were able to get pregnant. My cycle was massively wonky which I wasn’t expecting (ovulated on CD30 and just about to start AF and I’m CD43!).

be kind to yourself if it doesn’t happen straightaway, your body may need time to get itself back together! I still have down days but trying to be positive about this next cycle!

GreenPickle · 12/06/2024 18:25

@LucyCL yeah A&E is hectic. The nurses don’t get paid enough and there were SO many people for 2.30am (probably because nowhere else is open). To be honest, I didn’t really need to go but I called 111 and they told me to but if it happens again (hopefully it doesn’t), I know what to expect so will just deal with it myself.

good to know about the temp stuff - can I start any day of the cycle? Will probably start on Friday if it arrives tomorrow! Not sure when AF will officially start.. hoping tomorrow.

however, it looks like I have a normal LP as I was worried mine was too short but it’s look to be in the 14 day range (if I ovulated on the first positive).

ready for this new cycle! Will be carrying on doing my CB digital (still not sure about them) and my e@h opks (but doing them properly 😂) PLUS bbt 😊 hoping this is the cycle!

not counting cycle 2 because my body was all over the place 😂

GreenPickle · 12/06/2024 18:45

Actually when I had a MC for the first time, I didn't know who to call... So, I shall cal 111?
Yes, you can start temping any day of the cycle as long as you are aware of the phase of the cycle. Because BBT is always at the lowest on the 1st day of the period and you can treat it as the baseline then your BBT will gradually increase or fluctuate when it is getting close to ovulation day. So, as a reminder, the BBT you get from any day of the cycle might not be the baseline.
It is positive to heat that you have a normal LP!! A good sign of your hormone levels getting back to normal!! It also means you had sufficient progesterone to support the pregnancy during LP.
