Hi all, thanks for the new thread. Could someone please give me their opinion on my ovulation date. I have long cycles and have been doing opk tests daily this month. This has lead to a strange pattern of multiple positive ovulations. Fitbit says period should start today. Still nothing so I’m clinging to hope that the 3 day peak last week was it (we dtd plenty around then). Or do you think that’s likely af on the way?

yellow is positive opk.

It’s so sad but also reassuring in some way that so many of us seem to have such a hard time ttc number 2!

only just starting to read through this thread but for what’s it’s worth this 100% resonates. Baby 1 conceived 1st cycle! Now 6+ months of ttc number 2 with an early miscarriage in December. Really hoping it happens soon for us all xx

Anyone?!

Threedogsandababy · 10/04/2024 20:21

Sorry @maybemumtobe no idea I haven’t tried opk yet but sending you luck it’s so difficult all this guessing and questioning everything!

mamataylor · 10/04/2024 20:35

Sorry @maybemumtobe, no advice either 😞 I don’t use OPKs for the very reason that I’ll become too obsessed. We’ve stuck to DTD every 2-3 days throughout my cycle. It’s how I got pregnant with my daughter and the baby I lost in November. Sending you lots of luck x

Marie1990x · 11/04/2024 06:36

@maybemumtobe during my last cycle (was a very long one from usual) I wasn’t tracking as I wanted to avoid that month, but I had an urge to use an opk 9 days after my app predicted O and it was peak. I got pains around then too and AF came 2 weeks after that. So from my experience, I’d say you ovulated on maybe the 7th?

coffeerocket · 11/04/2024 06:50

CD1 for me today. Knew it was coming but still disappointed! This was only cycle two so it hasn't been long. But I might try relax more this month without OPKs or checking my apps too much. We'll see how that goes!

SavingNotSpending · 11/04/2024 07:11

Has anyone tried reflexology for fertility before? I’ve been looking at it this morning and have found a therapist near me. Tempted to give it a try as I’m just coming to the end of my period so will be starting to try again in the next few days.

Jessb2021a · 11/04/2024 07:42

Hi everyone, can I join?!

Baby 1 just coming up to 2 years and now looking to get on with baby 2 :)

I've just finished breastfeeding last month and came off the pill (mini-pill) at the start of the week. Periods have been a bit unpredictable.

Just had a 2 day period that seems to have stopped. So most likely withdrawal bleeding but at the right time for my expected period.

Not sure how it will go. I'm 39 so no guarantees but I did conceive 1st very quickly so fingers crossed

LK2610 · 11/04/2024 07:58

@mamataylor we’re going to try that method for a couple of cycles too so I don’t get obsessed using the strips. Do you start from when your period ends to when your period starts again? Or do you just DTD for a week, or something else?

Thanks so much for your reply. If it was the 7th then hopefully I’m in with a shot this month. Let’s see!

from the end of my period until my next period! We get a bit lax towards the end but definitely are consistent until after my EWCM disappears. It’s what the NHS recommend doing to get pregnant so there must be some truth in it and it’s worked for us before!
Good luck x

RW269 · 11/04/2024 10:48

Helloo!
Jumping onto this thread too, CD1 now, how annoying after being 5 days late!
wishing you all the luck for the month! 🤞

WonderingAboutBabies · 11/04/2024 15:14

Hoping everyone is doing well!

Currently on CD13, due to ovulate CD19-21. DH has asked me not to tell him when I'm ovulating this month as he got so stressed last month, he wasn't able to 'finish' on ovulation day (bless him ❤). I know how much he really wants it as well!

Silently counting down the days to shag week 😆

Threedogsandababy · 11/04/2024 16:03

@RW269 im on my 5th day late and still no sign of af it’s very frustrating! Had a bfn on Sunday so don’t wanna test again and get that rubbish disappointment feeling as thinking it’s unlikely it will be bfp now.
at least you can restart the cycle now and try again wishing you lots of luck

Adamsapple89 · 11/04/2024 16:15

@WonderingAboutBabies this happened to me today with my bf couldn’t DTD cause of the pressure bless him. Today is ovulation day but we did every other day for last for the last week including yesterday so 🤞🏻

Fairy0708 · 11/04/2024 16:15

Hi ladies

Seems like there are few on here TTC number 2 and taking longer than expected.

I'm on cycle 9 at the moment... Was so lucky that number 1 was conceived cycle 1.

I've had a transvaginal scan, blood test, AMH level and DH has SA and all ok. Our son has a few health issues including congenital heart disease so the fact it's taking longer is hard as my next pregnancy (🤞) would be high risk.

I'm currently on day 4 of flashing smileys and only got one bloomin stick left but I do a tally prefer not knowing when peak day is as it's less pressure 😅

RRAEE · 11/04/2024 16:17

Im a week late now and still nothing either way 😪

Any one got any advice on when it's time to call the GP ? Or Should i just keep waiting it out?

RRAEE · 11/04/2024 16:18

Sorry was ment to post that in december chat 😅

Charlotteaanne · 11/04/2024 19:19

Hello new here. Would love to join the thread. Ttc since Sept 23.
No prior pregnancies and am 37 Ama and proud.
Getting push back from the gp on getting seen.
Started ovulation strips this cycle and it didn't peak, just went high and down but no line match. Anyone else have this?

Sex is daily usually for us.

Threedogsandababy · 12/04/2024 06:37

@Charlotteaanne hi - sorry to hear your doctors are unsupportive! It seems there is inconsistency in who gets seen and when and what testing is available. I was thinking about going to see my doctors soon I’m 37 and been trying 6 months now. I did have my coil removed so I think I will wait another month or so because of that. I haven’t used opk’s yet do you find it easy to understand?

YourShyFinch · 12/04/2024 08:15

Literally me, I had let my hopes get up too high last cycle, as I hadn’t had such a long one in 4 years… but then AF showed up. Hoping for better luck this month!
Best of luck to everyone else on here!! 🍀

Charlotteaanne · 12/04/2024 13:28

@Threedogsandababy opk is easy enough to read and use. Just not sure why mine didn't peak..maybe my lh levels are lower than the average. Will try again with them next cycle unless I'm lucky enough on this one. Though my feelings are a no x

satsumaqueen · 12/04/2024 18:45

Hi All, just literally came over from a different thread as I realised I would also be due in January if we fell this month. Really oddly I completely missed a December due date with my cycles - no idea how that happened 🤣.

Im currently TTC #2. It’s taking what feels like a lot longer this time round as we are currently on month 5 of trying and we fell first time round last time.

Could anyone help me with these ovulation stick results please?

Last month I started to use the clear blue ovulation stick machine with the smiley faces (never tracked it before apart from on a app) and after reading the last thread I saw alot of people were also using the easy@home sticks so thought I would give them a go as well to see if the results were the same as the difference in ovulation dates between the two apps I use were almost a week apart. This is my first time using them and I’m really confused. The first two tests I did first thing in the morning like the clear blue tells you too. I didn’t realise until after my husband read the instructions that they say to do the tests in the afternoon instead. Well I did that yesterday, didn’t drink anything for 2 hours before like it says and the line was really faint. Did another first thing this morning just to see if it was any different and the results have now shot up - which is in line with the clear blue as I had my first flashy smiley face today.

Am I doing these right? The morning seems more successful but it seems to go against everything the leaflet tells you! I’m really confused to say the least.

Just marking my spot if not successful this month!! I'm going to avoid a Jan due date but I will be trying opks for the first time on my month 'off' to get my head round them and feel I will need your support! Plus I feel attached to everyone now and want to see some BFPs!!
