@Paws4thought someone in that clinic must feel guilty gor not helping you in the 1st place. But yeah, next time, which there will be, IF you need any help, you have alot of ground to get it! Ha.
@Sez281 least your at work to keep your mind busy lol i dont know, friday i nearly passed out in asda, yesterday i managed 4 hrs of cleaning and washing lol its another limbo land, things hsve settled but its now like, well how do i know if things are ok 🤷‍♀️ its a long wait from the 12wk scan to 20 just waiting for movement lol.... my nhs said 10days for results if a problem, or 2-3wks if not lol they give you the nt measurement there tho, well ours did but i dont know what you need to be ok,that,or the bloods. I know its a mixture of both, but which is more important for a reasurring result 🤔 maybe your clinic tells you more lol

@Sez281 oh the Scanxiety is real. I've started feeling anxious about my next one now. Still not arranged that listen in though so I will deffo be doing that over the next few days. I really hope all goes well for you. Should you be around 11wks then today?

@Supertrooper101 the wait between 12 and 20 is interminable - especially when you've got used to regular checks in the first trimester. Suddenly you're just out on your own twiddling your thumbs! Oof your Trust gave themselves a big window! I was told phonecall in 2-3 days if higher risk, and letter within 2 weeks if all low risk. The combined test is a bit weird. Sonographer gave us NT and I was pleased and said 'oh good, so normal range' and she quite sternly said 'it means nothing on it's own' 😳 However, whenever you look at info etc, raised NT is usually a massive first indicator of issues. Three on my due date group had it and had further tests and cardiology scans etc. I think two ended up no issues, one has actually had a confirmed diagnosis of DS and is keeping little one. She's been amazing about it and really supportive DH and family etc. Wasn't sure if my bloods would automatically be higher risk due to age but they came back low for all so it's not a given. But even quite a lot of the high risk results end up in no issues after further tests. Guess it's all statistics etc. Anyway, hopefully you'll get the all clear soon and it's one less thing to worry about. 💕

@Supertrooper101 haha I don't think I've seen the same member of staff twice so doubt they even know what's happened but yeah my notes should back me up next time. Even the advice isn't consistent, Friday the Dr said wait til get a negative to try then yest the nurse said wait for period, I asked if that's just for dating and she said yeah 🙄 are you going to book a private scan?
@SnookyPook thank you. When is your next scan ? Will you find our gender?

@Paws4thought this one was conceived before I had a period and it's not caused any problems except I dated a week behind from my very first scan. They definitely say that for convenience/dating purposes.

My scan is a week on Thurs and yes we're hoping to find out if baby will comply! I think it'll help make it a bit more real and also we can prepare our little boy a bit more for whether it's a brother or sister on the way ☺️

@SnookyPook yeah I definitely think it's for their convenience plus there's no guarantee I'll catch anyway.
Does your little boy have a preference for a brother or sister?

@Paws4thought he keeps insisting it's a sister!! Hoping he won't be gutted if it's a brother! 😂

@SnookyPook so the ones who needed further testing,were there NTs normal or slightly high? What was your NT if you dont mind me asking lol did you not spend hours analyzing the head on the scan pic to guess the gender then? 🤣.. wonder how many are right doing that lol
@Paws4thought start trying again when you feel like you want to, not when they tell you too out off convenience to them lol look at that other forum....ones 2 weeks ahead and ones 4 wks behind arnt they lol just realised its snooky on the other forum lol but yeah, its for dating for them.

Yep just plodding along @SnookyPook lol started reading up on all these tests that are offered, think me and the OH originally said we wouldn't have any done. Am I right in thinking they ask at your booking appointment? As need to discuss again just to make sure lol ah your finding out the gender 😍 I would've but OH is adamant he doesn't want to 🙈 and I certainly wouldn't be able to keep it a secret. I'd only really want to know so I can be organised lol wouldn't it be nice to have a girl tho 😍 so you have one of each.

Started allowing myself to think a bit more like it's happening but then I panic and drag myself back into the 'what ifs' sure the anxiety will ramp up as we get closer to Monday, scan isn't till 1.30 either so that's annoying.

Anyone else get major mood swings? Seem to be switching alot in the last few days like go from zero to 100 in like 5 seconds lol

I agree with the others start when ever you feel ready @Paws4thought I waited for a negative test, however my period didn't turn up for like nearly 9 weeks 💤 think it took some time for my body to adjust tbh as id also only been off the pill for 6 months at the time of MC so think my hormones were all over the show..probably explains why it's took 9 months to get pregnant again 🙈

So we got to hear the heartbeat which we weren't expecting 💓 so emotional 🥹 She said everything looks well and took measurements but said to wait for my consultant to give due date by size next Monday at my "12 week" scan. (I'll only be 11+4) Hopefully I’ll have blood results around then too. As it stands because of my age etc my risk of certain chromosomal abnormalities are 50:1 😕 I'm going to try not to think too much about it though and look at it more like 100:2. Just got to get through the next week or so 🙏

@Supertrooper101 that is a long wait. Will you book a private one do you think? So crazy about feeling faint one minute and cleaning the next. I'm dying to get a burst of energy and do a proper good clean, my OH tries but is useless 🙄 Oh the nurse weighed me today which I wasn't expecting 🙈 My scales must be off as I was 4 pounds lighter than I thought. I'm still a bit overweight but not as bad as I thought 😂

@SnookyPook Aww I'd say he'll be delighted with either but good idea getting him (and yourselves) prepared! The nurse today asked if we wanted to find out the sex, we said yes but we want to know the results of the risk factors first as that's all that matters. She will call with those results and if all is low risk then post them out and we can read and find out the sex together 🙏

@Paws4thought I think definitely just try when you feel ready. You've been through so much but you know your body best. Hopefully things return to normal for you soon 🙏 xx

@Westy22 the back and forth between hope and dread is constant I'm afraid. I allow myself fleeting moments of excitement and then am brought straight back to earth worrying that I've jinxed it 😢 I definitely think as each scan and milestone is past it does feel like a little weight is lifted. So hopefully in time the happiness will outweigh the fear for us all! 🙏 xx

@Sez281 wow is the figures that low for are age 🤯.. did they say what the nt measurement was tho? Cant beleve your gona get to find out the sex soon 🙂. Plsd it went well depite the 'odd' might start weighing myself at home to keep tabs lol yeah ill probably get a private one lol
@Westy22 awww that sucks if you want to know but he dosent. How strange for a male to feel so strongley about that. You have to consent at the booking in yeah. Hows the bloating lol and moodswings, yep, add that to.the long list you dont hear about lol.

@Supertrooper101 the NT was 1.8 so middle of normal range I think.

@Westy22 yeah they check about screening tests at booking in but they checked again on the day of the 12wk scan. I'm sure if you changed your mind they would do it. Yeah I guess it would be cute to have one of each. I genuinely don't mind though! Curious though now and it will be nice to know ☺️

@Sez281 that's so wonderful that you heard the heartbeat! What an amazing moment! I wouldn't worry too much about the risk you've been given. I've definitely seen on other threads that that is standard for older mums but it's still actually a pretty low number and wil change again from your bloods and NT. So exciting you're almost at your 12wk scan! And you'll be finding out the sex! You'll probably find out before I do! Haha.

@Supertrooper101 @SnookyPook I don't think she did an NT on me 🤔 Maybe my consultant will do it on Monday at 12 week scan? Although from my research I think the Nipt bloods results will override any scan figures as I think they're more accurate? She did tell me the 1/50 risk is just the standard number for my age and to try not to worry too much. So for now I've put it to the back of my mind.

How old are you @Sez281 I can't remember if you dont mind me asking 🙈 I figured I'll get a risk figure around that being 37 and my BMI was 25.69 at my last appointment so just a smudge bloody over...although I bet its slightly higher now 🤣 (I love cake)

Bloating is great @Supertrooper101 don't have a flat stomach anymore 🤣🤣 I'm also ready for bed at 9pm most nights 💤💤

@Sez281 ah yeah they will do that at 12wk scan. But you're right, pretty sure NIPT overrides it. It's what they do as a first port of call if the combined screening comes back higher risk I believe.

@Westy22 I thought I might (turned 38 around Christmas time) but came back low risk from blood results. I think they kind of merge the age risk and the bloods/NT risk for your final result. So wondering if Sez may get a different figure too once bloods factored in? All quite baffling how they do it all!

@Sez281 ah that's lovely hearing heart beat, hopefully not too long to wait for results.
@SnookyPook I'm sure he'll be happy whether it's a boy or girl, plenty of time for him to get used to whichever :)

I'm planning to start testing again from Friday and if I can work out when best chance is we'll start trying and keep everything crossed.

@Westy22 I'm 41 and 5 months (pretty sure it just went by my age) although my bmi is 28 so I'm in the overweight category. The nurse yesterday was so nice when I stood on the scales she said not to give my weight a second thought as I'm growing a human 🤷‍♀️ I will try and keep more on top of things when I feel better though 🤞

@Paws4thought hopefully by Friday you'll be able to gauge by opks etc where you are. You hear so many stories about being super fertile after mc so hopefully that's the case for you this cycle 🙏

Hope everyone is doing ok. I have been SOooo mega hormonal today. I started the day with an absolute rage and then I've been alternating between snapping at people and bursting into tears all day. I feel so unbalanced and crazy. It's not been a pleasant day. Hoping this isn't my new norm!! I think my hubby was wondering if I need sectioning earlier 😂😩😂

@SnookyPook that was me yesterday lol had to keep telling myself to calm down and think, what is actually making you so mad......and it was stupid things. Crazy. Son also asked if theres such a thing where you can hire a room just to trash it to get out his anger 🤔..... asked him why he was mad and he didnt know lol

@Paws4thought pleased you sound like your getting back on it. Shows how strong you are and am sure if you have any problems now after all this you will find your inner voice to be heard! Lol.

Hope you're feeling a bit better today @SnookyPook. I've no experience of the ultimate rage yet but I'm going to assume it's a normal hormonal side effect 🤷‍♀️ I really feel for our OHs sometimes, not just in pregnancy but in life! 🙈😂

I keep switching @SnookyPook lol not great when in work and you literally want to kill people, interestingly my sis said she was always angrier carrying girls lol but don't think there's any science backing it. Also finding foods I love one day I'm heaving at the thought of the next? Today I ate steamed veg for lunch because I literally felt like I couldn't eat anything else...even though I've lived off jacket potato for the last week...I could not stomach it today.

Officially made it to 7 weeks 🙏 praying everything is still as it should be, I've seen an increase of white discharge last two days, I've read this is quite normal tho. Also nervous as I approach the days around when a period would be due 🙈

Hi everyone, not had much chance to catch up in the last couple of weeks but your comment about food is very relatable @Westy22 - in my first trimester I found that something could be the best food in the world one day, and then the next day I'd be revolted by it! I'm pretty sure we still have a random tin of mushroom soup in the cupboard that I insisted on buying and then couldn't stomach the thought of it.

I found my appetite became more normal after about 14 weeks, but I couldn't face eggs, curry, or cheesy sauces until the third trimester for some reason.

@Sez281 haha indeed! Thankfully I've been fine today! Was really worried in case that was my new normal for the next 5 months!!

@Westy22 aw congratulations! 7wks is great! Increased discharge is deffo a good sign that your body is protecting your lady bits from infection etc! Keeping everything crossed for you. 🙏🏼 Interesting re girls versus boys and potential differences to pregnancies. I don't think any of it is ever really backed up but there must be some hormonal differences you would think. Hmm.

@SnookyPook be interesting to see next week with you and sez, you mood swings and sez calm, lets see if urs is a girl and sez's a boy lol
