@Westy22 i had the same one time. It took an hour for the machine to be happy. Its more advanced than pen and paper and am guessing over the years the midwifes have said yes, thats fine, am happy, when really things wernt ok. So much more caution is in place since 10yrs ago as the midwife said bad things have happened which could have been avoided. Just go with it and see what they say but its better to be monitored more than left to it i think

xxcxdonxx · 08/10/2024 17:50

That’s understandably given you a
bit of a fright @Westy22 . How did you get on today?
Hopefully you’ve not had such a long day and everything looks ok xx

Westy22 · 08/10/2024 18:06

So I failed the first one this morning and the doctor came to see me and basically said they need to see it more stable, she said they were airing on the side of caution and weren't necessarily thinking get baby out but could react if needed so said I had to go for another one, got me my own room etc and started it again after I'd eaten, they come in like 30 mins later and was like you've passed that one and doctor is happy for you go lol said to see my midwife tomorrow about birth plan and she will check again and then they want to see me next Tuesday for another routine check now x it's been the longest two days 😫 still feel like they haven't been entirely clear, doctor talked about the high heart rate whereas midwife said the computer wasn't happy with decelerations and accelerations saying baby was remaining too steady like it was reserving energy 🤔 even tho the heart rate was spiking and baby was moving alot. Anyway I'm home and grateful there not getting baby out just yet xxx

xxcxdonxx · 08/10/2024 18:52

Glad to hear you are home and the doctors are happy with what they have seen today @Westy22 . Maybe your midwife tomorrow can explain more when it’s not so frantic in the hospital.
Hope you manage to get some rest, you must be running on nervous energy!

xxcxdonxx · 08/10/2024 19:01

It’s lovely to hear from you @Jadeypie and I’m glad that you are settled in your decision.

I’m sure that you already know but just incase… you are absolutely not a failure. For some strange reason, the world just had other plans and it’s not meant to be. Whatever is best for you and your family is 100% the right decision.
We’ve given ourselves to the end of the year, that will be two years since we have been trying and realistically I can’t go on anymore. Like you, I’m getting more and more used to our family as it is just now and want to enjoy it and not having this hanging over us xx

Westy22 · 11/10/2024 20:57

How is everyone? X

I'm experiencing lots of niggles, on day 5 of regular tightenings now and feeling lots of pressure and stabby pains aswell as the lower back ache. Went back into work yesterday as I was so bored at home, but regretting that slightly lol only 5 more shifts to do 🙏 x

xxcxdonxx · 12/10/2024 12:08

Did they give you any more information on what was causing the pressure/pain? @Westy22 I’m glad you only have 5 shifts left, sounds like you need to put your feet up!

No news here, we move in just under 3 weeks so all focus is on that just now. I’ll start my opks in a few days too.
Random Q, has anyone ever been told about any effects of taking progesterone over a period of time? I’m conscious I’ve been taking it for a while now on and off and questioning if that’s ok? I’ll call the consultant next week and check it out just in case.

Paws4thought · 12/10/2024 20:15

@SnookyPook that's good to know you bled more with Sammy but he's here and healthy, hoping it's actually a good sign for me.
@Supertrooper101 I've got scan booked for Monday, I probably could have gone sooner but wanted to get past the 8 week mark as think I'll feel more confident going forward if it's still OK. Yeah morphology was 2%, wasn't sure if that could contribute to mc as count was a bit low too, I've got a lost of vits lined up if needed tho :) how are you getting on?
@Jadeypie glad to hear you've made your decision and you're content, must have been hard but hopefully you can pop the heartache of ttc behind you.
@xxcxdonxx good luck with your move, are you going far? 3 weeks will fly by! You're good doing opk with that going on, think I'd be too stressed haha. No idea about the progesterone but as our bodies produce it naturally I can't see what harm it could do.
@Westy22 sorry to see you've had a scare, did they say what the tightenings could be? Hopefully they'll give you light duties for your last 5 shifts!!
@Sez281 hope you're settling into mummy life well x

Westy22 · 13/10/2024 08:13

No nothing @xxcxdonxx @Paws4thought I was back in again yesterday after work due to increasing pain and lower back ache, so they wanted to check babys heart rate...all was well so they said I'm either getting nerve pain or just increasing pregnancy pain with braxton hicks 🙈 picked up some blood in my urine but doctor didnt seem too concerned as im showing no signs of infection, so im like can blood from my cervix go in my urine? Lol can you tell im so ready to give birth. I'm just going to ride it out and hope the real deal kicks in soon. X

House moves are the worst, hope it goes well @xxcxdonxx ive no advice in progesterone as theyve never given it me but definitely worth asking about xx

Good luck with your scan tomorrow @Paws4thought 🙏

SnookyPook · 13/10/2024 16:38

@Westy22 just catching up as not been on here for a few days... Oof! All sounds a bit stressful! Remind me what gestation you're at now? I can't believe you are still going in to work! Don't feel bad about starting Mat Leave a few days early if these last shifts seem unbearable. I don't think anyone would think badly of you!! Hope all is ok. Just take it as easy as possible. Almost at the finish line now 💗

@Paws4thought good luck for tomorrow - how are you feeling about it? Sending big hugs.

@xxcxdonxx all the best for the move! Always something so lovely and exciting about a fresh start in a new place!

@Supertrooper101 @Sez281 hope you and the little ones are doing well 🥰

Paws4thought · 13/10/2024 17:54

@Westy22 how many weeks are you now? Would you be classed as full term if baby decides they're ready?
@SnookyPook we're both really nervous, I'm hoping for the best but struggling to imagine it going differently to the last 2 times, i guess trying to protect myself a bit.

Westy22 · 13/10/2024 18:27

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow @SnookyPook so quite happy with where I'm at if baby comes, even though a MW in hospital was like "oohh no we would prefer 39" I've had similar pains today with the braxton hicks again, think the back pain is definitely a nerve tho as it only kicked in again when I was trying to help the OH hang a radiator 😂🙈

I can imagine the nerves @Paws4thought I remember it well going the second time round, hopefully its an earlier appointment so your not waiting to go all day? Xx good luck

xxcxdonxx · 13/10/2024 18:31

Thinking of you tomorrow @Paws4thought , the wait between scans is horrible.
Thats understand me trying to protect yourself, I hope you don’t have a long wait before it.

Paws4thought · 13/10/2024 18:34

@Westy22 definitely sounds like your body is telling you to slow down! Thanks :)
@xxcxdonxx my scan is midday so not too long to wait x

Sez281 · 14/10/2024 11:03

@Paws4thought good luck with the scan today hun, everything crossed for you! 🙏

@Westy22 oh I really hope you're finished up now. It really sounds like your body is ready. You'll need all your energy for birth and early days so please rest as much as you can! Xx

@xxcxdonxx Oh the move is happening quickly! So great that you'll be in and settled by Christmas etc 🥰 I don't think there's any negative effects of progesterone from ttc that I'm aware of. A friend of mine has been on them since 3DPO for about a year now. Unfortunately she had a couple of losses but is now around 9 weeks since BFP and puts it down to that completely. Definitely check with your doc if concerned though x

@Jadeypie so great to hear from you.. As others have said you are 100% not a failure. TTC is so bloody stressful! I will never do it again.. don't get me wrong if I had age on my side I might take a wait and see approach but definitely not actively try...You are so blessed to have James, enjoy every minute of him and you never know what life has in plan down the road xx

@SnookyPook how long does it take to learn their cues? I keep thinking I know whether she wants then I'm pulling my hair out again 🫠😂

@Supertrooper101 how you doing? I meant to say I'm sorry to hear the news that you're doing this alone (well I know he's being supportive but you know what I mean) I think you're a bloody legend because I can't even imagine how tough it must be! Xx

Had a bit of a set back last week and ended up back in hospital 3 days after we came home as my blood pressure was through the roof. They kept me in for a couple of days to monitor and get it under control with new meds. Luckily I was able to have Sophie with me but it was tough going 😢 we're home again a couple of days now and still trying to find our feet. Breast feeding is bloody hard! Some nights it's 3 hours between feeds but others only like 1 🫠 between that and the mucus/choking thing I basically have barely slept in 2 weeks 🤯 I'm not complaining though and realise how lucky and grateful we are to have her and it will get easier.. hope everybody else is doing ok xx

Paws4thought · 14/10/2024 13:47

Bad news again today 😞

xxcxdonxx · 14/10/2024 15:35

I’m so sorry @Paws4thought
Did they give any indication as to what had happened?
My first mmc was after seeing a heartbeat so I know how extra cruel that is to have that initial hope.
I’m so sorry you are going through this again, sending you lots of hugs x

Paws4thought · 14/10/2024 15:38

@xxcxdonxx no she didn't, it had grown since last time and was prob biggest I've had but still under 7 weeks, got mva booked for Thurs so hoping she might be able to give more insight and they'll refer to recurrent clinic now but might look into private as she said its 12 month wait, just don't know where to start x

xxcxdonxx · 14/10/2024 16:02

I’m glad you don’t have a long wait for your Mva and hopefully they will be able to do some testing from there.
Just give yourself some time just now, you will be on their list and if you want to look into going privately then I imagine that would be much quicker.
Thinking of you 💜

Jadeypie · 14/10/2024 17:15

@Paws4thought I'm so sorry xxx

Sez281 · 14/10/2024 17:39

Oh @Paws4thought I'm so so sorry 😔 I know there's nothing I can say, it's just utterly shit that you are going through this again and it's not fair 😢 Look after yourself xx

OP posts:
Westy22 · 15/10/2024 09:27

I'm so so sorry @Paws4thought Im devastated for you 💔 hopefully you get all the help and advice you need, take some time out and be kind to yourself ❤️ xx

Supertrooper101 · 15/10/2024 19:46

@Paws4thought 🙁. Am not sure on where to start with private, maybe book an appointment with a local one and go from there? My oh had a big deficincy in folic acid, not sure if that was behind the mc but he went on wellmans, omega 3, coq10 black maca and another herb. Worth looking into
@Sez281 the bf must be tough. Could you express so your oh can do a full night one time? Feeding signs r usually head side to side, eating their hands and then crying lol fussy i would say tired or nappy. A different cry or screech and eye rolls then wind. Mines still gagging choking, had her at drs and they say its gastro. She has alot of boggys so may b still abit of mucus but its so hard watching her so know how you feel. If your in doubt take her to drs. Mine tried the gaviscon but didnt do anytbing. Just at this age we have no idea exactly what it is 🤷‍♀️

SnookyPook · 16/10/2024 17:18

@Paws4thought oh my darling I'm so so sorry to hear your news. It's just awful and so unfair. I really hope that the wait for recurrent miscarriage clinic is less than you're expecting and that you get some answers and solutions asap. Sending you the most enormous hug. I keep thinking this month that this time last year I was right in the middle of going through my third loss, and just a year on, the whole picture has completely changed. I really hope that in a years time you will be looking at a similar different scenario. 💗
